I was AWE struck by the magnitude of the flood. The amount and size of the ice chunks were amazing. It's still hard to believe the water rose so high as to reach the bottom of the pedestrian bridge!

This park is one of my favorites in Brantford. Beautiful gardens and willow trees! It is kept so beautifully maintained. Great for family picnics. I sometimes bring a blanket and a book to sit under the big trees and read. A friend and I also used to bring our yoga mats and do yoga together in the mornings. I can't wait for the summer weather to come to use this park again!

The Local Explorer

Continuing on from Lorne Park, I took the tunnel unde the road to Fordview Park. It's a small park area with a single bench in it, but there are a couple more benches close by on the Trail beside it. It has a few flower beds and some mature trees for shade. There's also 2 exercise equipment available to use. It seems the lookout point and the Dike Trail bridge from the park are fenced off and unusable, which is a shame. It would be wonderful to view the Grand River from them. There is a small parking area off of Fordview Drive and the #5 and #6 buses go along Colborne Street past both Lorne Park and Fordview Park
