Awesome! Bring binoculars. Can see puffin burrows as well as puffins resting on right side of cliff. Go in the morning. They mostly left by late morning to go fishing.

This is a must-see attraction that I would say is slightly better than the Elliston site. Excellent puffin colony viewing area right beside the light house. You can get fairly close, and the puffins fly overhead. Be sure to bring your best camera and a telephoto lens, because there's a bit of distance between you and the puffins.

We lucked out. The weather was amazing. Not sure everyone who visits will get the nice day we had. Easy to get to. Drive right up to a 400m trail and you are standing very close to the puffin colony. It was far enough away that it was difficult to get pictures with my phone but those who had a real camera got some great shots. Whales were breaching everywhere and quite close to shore. Very well worth the short detour on the way to Bonavista.

This place is a must. There is parking very close with a very short walk to get up close and personal with puffins. They fly very close to you and if you give them a chance to land nearby they just might. (we weren't lucky but couple leaving said one landed 5 ft away from them).
