REVIEWS OF Massassauga Point Conservation Area IN Belleville

I had gone here as a child, and although not much has changed, I still think of it fondly. Along the gorgeous waterfront, the trails are well maintained and marked, and there are some fun emojis to find & a checkpoint to make things exciting for younger people. We walked along the shoreline and if you aren't a fan, be prepared to see lots of water snakes.

Travis Shalla

A lovely 30 minute nature walk just a few minutes from Belleville.

Michael Papaioannou

Serene walk through untouched land with some very old trees. We went there in the springtime and it was a very relaxing experience. Those trees must look amazing in the winter with the snow, but don’t know if the road is cleared all the way to the entrance of the area. If you’re in Bellevile and looking for a relaxing setting for a couple of hours this is your spot. Rocky surfaces by the water offer amazing spots for looking out at the water.

Stuart Long

Very nice water front elements (was mostly there for that) some fossil stone elements if anyone is interested in. Will visit again

Dan Mossip

I'm giving this one star for the sole reason that I saw this sign. It says I have to pay for parking and I refuse to pay to park in a field with some trails :-)

John-Boy Hahn

I just had a few runs through here. It was very open and well kept. I'm sure it would be a good place for a fair or another such event.

Bonnie Thomas

One of my top hiking trails I like to visit. The trails itself do not take too long (1 hr max if you're going at a leisurely pace). Lots of great spots by the water and a good part of the trails has shade during these warmer days. Trails are clearly marked and well maintained. Parking is paid now, I think $5 for the day (with options for less).

Mark Eberts

Best spot for a great fall nature walk.

Bridget Purdy

A great place to hike with kids!

Donnie Hanrahan (Just_a_puff_guy)

Very nice place for a hike

Lish I

Absolutely beautiful and well maintained. My family enjoyed is and there's a very old truck a little off the trail that looks pretty cool!

Lawrence D

We come here regularly. It's a great hike with lots off trail choices. I have to comment that I am not a fan of poop flicking. There are some people that Geocache and the are Caches off the trail and with the poop not being picked up then it can get messy. Other than that it's a great place to hike.

Issac Cherian

Relaxing and enjoyable for all age

Mark Lennox

Very nice place for quick hikes. Well marked trails, flat terrain on the long red trail around the perimeter of the area. The quarry in the middle of the conservation area is unique. Could use some new picnic tables. $5 to park for the day.

The trails and water front are beautiful. The boat launch is a great place to allow a well trained dog to swim but it's extremely close to the parking lot so most dogs would be safer on a long training leash. Will return for sure.

Myroslava Symonenko

A wonderful area for a walk. Some trails are near the water, others are rocky, the rest are in the woods with some open spaces - a variety that makes up for a walk for every taste. Wildlife and birds are right there, if walk quietly you can see them all.

James Kirby

We really enjoyed this park. The trails are great for walking. We biked today and had to do a couple loops. Great place for photos with the water as a back drop. There is a covered area for lunches. The park looks well used and there is a parking app? Apparently they are asking you to pay for parking via an app? Not exactly sure what that is all about. In a sad reality that is screen dependent, I feel the direction of parks Canada and Ontario parks should be to ENCOURAGE OUTSIDE activities, not discourage them with fees.

Super easy walk for all levels. Paths are clear and easy to follow. At the start keep your eyes up for the Osprey platform. We heard but didn't see the Osprey on our visit. Motorized vehicles are not permitted. This allows for a quiet stroll through a heritage area. Limestone quarry is interesting. Easy access to the waters edge. Enjoyable walk for all ages. Take care because parking is 5 dollars paid by an app. Don't know what happens if you don't pay!

Waylon Kenning

Cute area and a nice place to watch the boats go by!

Paige Lacroix

Quiet and right on the water. Relatively well kept walking trail, easy paced.

L Hamilton

Great place for walk

Amanda Sherwood

Beautiful space with lots of trails and water from space. Great for a hike, jog or walk with the dog. Amazing spot for a date afternoon, or a sunset/sunrise photo shoot

Krystyn Hemphill

Best place to walk your pups and take photos with your family. Not huge but big enough for a nice family walk or hike with the dogs.

Rebeccca Bergeron

Mostly untouched nature. Bring your boots in the spring and fall. The parking lot has a launch for kayaks and paddleboards and such. No dock area. Lots of space for picnics. One of the few Bur Oak Savanas left in Southern Ontario. Only wish is that people would pick up their dogs poop. Annoying that there is a sign saying to put it in the bush.

Mark Argentino

Great place to visit, beautiful views, very picturesque, would visit again, highly recommended!

Julie Sweeney

Gorgeous trail with a stunning view!!!

Naomi Sherlock-Hubbard

This short, level trail takes you through wooded areas and then along the shoreline offering a good view of the Bay of Quite and Point Ann. There is lots of parking, a boat launch and a sheltered picnic area.

Roy Briggs

Great place to go for a walk. Nice gravel shoreline. A Limestone quarry.

Navneet Singh

Great natural experience

b mc

Gorgeous trails... area is known to have some snakes

Elie Waitzer

WINTER REVIEW: Even in deep slushy snow this was an easy and beautiful hike - just make sure you’ve got waterproof boots or snowshoes. We did the 2KM loop around the bay in around 40 minutes walking at an even pace. Will be back to explore the inner trails in better weather.

JAY LANDRY

Great area,,good launch, not great but will do the job. Lots of Drum and Pike. We spent a few hrs. there had a great time.

Raquel David

One of the best places to visit in the Quinte west area if you're looking to go for a hike/walk. Beautiful not matter it's winter or summer. Please Follow @toonieguys on Instagram and Subscribe to our YouTube for more fun stuff. Link in bio.

Went on a bike ride from Trenton along Highway 2 through the county to Massassauga Conservation Park. There's an amazing 30 minute walking trail for families, a boat launch and picnic tables for eating lunch.

Melissa Symonds

Small little park with lots of trails. Not typically busy. Love to walk my dog here

Mike Gyver

Great place to take the family. Just be quiet in the rock fall. The fox is pretty friendly, just don't be a dink to it.

Mitchell Green

Very nice

Janene M

Excellent conservation area with well-marked paths. Excellent views of the Bay of Quinte on the waterfront path, and seating, too.

Mike Whitman

Great place to go for a walk

Rene Mapili

Fantastic area! Must visit!!

Meet Shah

Good experience overall. Be aware of the snakes though, we encountered 3 snakes while walking the trail and there were no signs posted anywhere. Authorities should at least post signs along the trail as a precaution.

Suzy Lockhart

Good place for a quiet walk Our grandchildren love going there, as did their parents

Nancy Kendall-Raso

So serene and beautiful !!!

Allan Reilly

Great place to take a walk with the family or anchor the boat to get out of the wind.

Rob McKinnon

Since they don't know how to tell time I will never go back again McDonald's is just down the road and so is Burger King at least they know their operation hours

Rohan Philip

Merryn Lush

Lovely trails. A nice short loop with excellent waterfront views.

Chris Mccamon

Everybody loved it

Richard Cheung

Zebra mussels have taken over

Jef Mallory

One of the many hidden gems in the Belleville area, Massassauga Point Conservation Area is a great place to go with your friends, family or just your dog for a walk. There are sitting benches scattered along the paths and plenty of breath taking vistas - especially in the fall. Lightly travelled, this park is peaceful and very pleasant.

Paola D

Came her on a whim and all I can say, it’s a perfect spot for me and my friends. Beautiful scenery, water is perfect and you have a beautiful view.

Christopher Roth

Basic conservation area with poor signage and terrible condition parking lot. There is no overall map or trail markers. For the charge additional services such a bathroom would be appreciated considering nothing closer is available. Nice views of the lake and clean shoreline. Too bad much of the forest is being consumed by invasive European Buckthorn and choking out native species.

Howard K

Nice park for a short walk along the water and through the woods

Dianne Wilson

Peaceful beautiful quiet well-kept lovely view of the water and passing boats we saw a lovely schooner Had a lovely lunch by the water

Peter Wright

This place is a hidden jewel. Beautiful drive along Massassauga road. The loop is varied and interesting from the forest, quarry and the water's edge, and it is short and well-kept enough for small kids.

Christine Gillen

Nice place for a hike. It was nice to sit by the water what a beautiful spot, seen very few people most ere walking dogs. This trail is shorter so we did it twice forward then backwards for variety.

Alex Wilson

$5 to park on PUBLIC LAND I pay for not only through taxes but through donations to the conservation authority. Even through you NEVER see anyone there performing maintenance. Money hungry. Parking is free at many other outdoor places in the area, and these places are often better maintained and oftentimes have better views. There’s nothing special about this area, you could walk along the shores of the bay on the Belleville side and get similar views and it’s equally busy in both places... probably less so in Belleville as the trail is much longer.
