We've got all the feddbacks of people who are buying the services and products of Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park (Tourist Attraction) near to the area of Belleville (Canada).
To this day this firm has a score of 4.5 stars out of 5 and this score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is practically the top, and it is founded on a high number of scores, so we may say that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Tourist Attraction is included in the category of Park.
Very lovely place, to share the love of the nature, it's a place you have to visit. Hermoso lugar, obligado pararte y admurar su belleza
It is the second time at this restaurant and it was just as good as the first. Decent prices, great staff in person. Over the phone the girl was rude, but it's a minor thing.
If there were 6 stars to offer for a rating, I would! There is no chance you can stand here and not be overcome by the beauty of the view. Having recently moved to the west coast, we will miss visiting the County ... if you have yet to discover this magical area, I envy you finding it for the first time :) Enjoy!!
Amazing scenery... love it
A beautiful spot with lakes on both sides of the road. The lake on the mountain is 30 metres deep and is quite amazing to look at.
Neat spot - beautiful views. Great place to visit. I'm certain to return for a stay.
Went on Valentine's day 2020, was a beautiful sunny day looking out over the frozen snow topped surface of the lake with the sun in my face. Was so peaceful except for birds & a small breeze.
It's a pretty peaceful place. But the park itself is very small and there isn't a lot to do. Parking is limited as well. The scenery is gorgeous but I wish they would capitalize on adding more features to the park itself.
The cool thing is that there's a lake, on a mountain top, with no apparent source feeding it. If you stand at the roadway you can see the elevated lake, and much further below the bay that's at Lake Ontario level. Limited facilities (washrooms seasonal).
Always a lovely serene place to visit and contemplate on a beautiful day!
I dropped by this small park in my day driving trip to Prince Edward county. It has a great view of the Mountain Lake itself as well as Lake Ontario.
For a quick trip, this place is ideal. Not much going on around here except the beautiful scenery and views. The leaves were changing colors and we wanted to be there around sunset. After a day at Sandbanks Provincial Park this was about our speed. Nice little area to walk around and spots to sit and just look. A mysterious place indeed as they don't know how the water stays at this level, it has runoffs that fill streams and rivers but nothing to fill the Lake on the Mountain itself, not unlike Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca except on a much smaller scale and nowhere near as high, not really sure you can call this a mountain either but beautiful place nonetheless
Beautiful area loved it and cant wait to go back to this summer and take picture and hike.
Loved the lake and its tranquility, Hated the owner of Lake on the Mountain Inn
You won't know where to look first, the bay or the Lake on the Mountain. Memorable views
Beautiful sunset.
It was absolutely beautiful here but I wish we could have walked around the lake or that there were more accessible places for a day trip.
The sunset at this location is outstanding. Arrive there about two hours before sunset and enjoy a meal out on the patio at the restaurant next to the park. A truly memorable experience !! Enjoy
Very interesting place with a great view. No hiking around it is the only sad part.
Beautiful and very scenic, perfect for an individual looking for some quick time, a couple looking to ad some romance or even a family looking at beauties of life.
Cool little spot to stop for a visit. It seems odd to be standing beside a lake way up on the mountain and then looking way, way down to the water below.
Beautiful scenery. Not too busy. Nice to grab a bite in comfortable restaurant. A regular stop nice and close to the Glenora ferry and a nice start to a tour of the Cape, Cressy, Waupoos and Black River.
Very enjoyable I will be returning here food was awesome staff were awesome
Beautiful scenery and two lovely pubs nearby with equally beautiful scenery and patios.
Great views, next to two amazing restaurants serving local farm fresh food. Public washrooms available
Nice place for a quick visit, not too much to do unless you are eating at the nearby restaurant.
A beautiful place to spent your evening peacefully. The park offers spectacular elevated view of the lakes.
The lake is OK. I mean, it looks like any other of the million lakes we have here in Ontario. Anyways, the view from the parking lot is AMAZING. This is one of the best views of Prince Edward County. Want to impress your Toronto date? Grab something in Picton and bring it here to eat. Way better than sitting in a crowded restaurant where everyone can hear your conversations. Free parking for both lookouts. Washroom facilities in the summer. The ferry is right down the street so it's easy access back to Kingston.
Wonderful place. Lots of great views in the surrounding areas.
Pretty Park, but smaller then we'd expected.
This place is amazing. The view is absolutely incredible. Be sure to grab a table at the Miller house on the back patio.
No trails. A majority of it is in private property. But lots of fish to do fishing.
Lovely views from the top... Drive was also enjoyable....
Beautiful views of both the lake and the bay. ..close to the Glendora ferry if you are continuing on east....also a couple of cozy restaurants and private-owned cabins/lodging to rent nearby
gorgeous scenery! you can watch the Glenora fairy load up and make it's way across the water.
Nice place to visit but preferably by car or smaller motorhome or trailer as there is not enough parking spots available and if you park on the road you can get a $400 ticket.
Good view from the top, crazy to think it has no apparent source. Pretty cool how they have public bathrooms as well. Lots of piknik tables, looks like a good unique place to throw a little party / baby shower. Wedding / Engagement photos would also look great from up here!
Beautiful view. Met some very friendly tourists. .
Nice view of the lake on the mountain, but that is it. I thought there would be a trail to walk around or do something. But all the land around it is private and can't be accessed.
Just went for the scenery so beautiful.
A dual scenic site: the small 'mystery lake and the prominent cliff with a breathtaking view of the ferry crossing at glenora.
So picturesque, Springfeed lake is above the ferry, provides a beautiful vista
Unique place and landscape! Just come and immerse in the beauty of the lake and the views of St. Lawrence river from the top!
Beautiful views and lots of historical plaques but I wish there was a visitor centre or some marketing to sell postcards or photos or even offer guided tours. Maybe there is already but closed due to Covid, however it seems just like a nice quiet, pretty limestone sinkhole lake up a mountain! Lots of potential for future tourism.
The Lake on the Mountain is beautiful and peaceful. Lots of people stopped to check it out. The other side of the road is another story. The place could be a 10 but the view over the Bay of Quinte is obscured by scrub brush. You can barely see the vista that is before you. Sad really. Shame on our Provincial park system. There is a nice new bathroom but there were 3 ladies standing at the door but wouldn't go in. Too dirty for them. I had the advantage, I didn't need to sit. Come on Ontario, let's fix up some of our natural wonders! A few hundred feet down the road are 2 or 3 restaurants yellow taped off because of a parking issue of some sort. They have a million dollar view. Let's fix that too!
Didn't spend much time there but what we're seeing was simply amazing and beautiful worth the trip to go there.
Not much parking and space to have a picnic. The trail is not very inviting. Ounce your up there in the lake, it feels like its not on top of a mountain or hill.
It's a lake that happens to be on a mountain near another body of water. If you've seen a lake before, prepare to be disappointed. There are literally hundreds of places in Ontario that I would rank as more impressive than this. Not worth 5 minutes of your time, at most.
There isn't anything to do here, not even a walking trail. The lake itself is neat, of course, but as a "provincial park" it definitely lacks anything park-like.
Amazing place. Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is. Plus the way to get there is so pretty.
Beautiful place and would love to go again but the surrounding business' need to pull their finger out. Nothing around that accommodated pets so I had to wait outside whilst my spouse purchased a meal and ate it just so she could use the toilet and the public toilets were closed. It's a pity as the area was spectacular to look at.
Amazing place to visit. Lake is so clear you can see the bottom. Lots of people picnicking around the area. Must pay for parking approximately $3/ hour
For work and sacrifice that goes unnoticed by most. We will remember you Jack. Decided to make this before you are gone so that you know you were loved and respected highly in this life.
Gorgeous place especially at sunset. It is also geographic ally significant and the views across the street 60 meters down to where the ferry crosses is amazing! Our first Prime Minister John A. McDonald use to home here a lot. He and his family frequented the area. I heard the Miller house has amazing gormet food across the street from the main resort. The main resort is a great place to have a chaucuterie board and a glass of wine at dusk.
One the nicest spots in the county and truly a natural wonder :)
The park was very romantic and picturesque with no litter to be found. Great spot for a picnic.
Lake on the mountain, it's literal.
Excellent services, nice and short ferry ride.
Very small area. Fairly busy as to restaurants bring a large crowd. Nice spot to kayak or canoe as no gas motors allowed on lake. Nice picnic area but again busy so picnic tables fill up fast. Nice view of picton bay on north side of road. Clean bathrooms with sinks.
Great wine tasting. The "Chocolatier" was tiny, but the view of Lake Ontario was beautiful. Luved the Holly Hocks!
My husband and I visited and we took many pictures. We will go back and take the Glenora ferry.
Very nice place to discover. A curiosity to see the lake Ontario below and to be next to the lake on the mountain.
i was surprised to see a lack of signage and information. Several people were standing and taking photos near the fence on Lake Ontario side thinking it was the lake on the mountain
2 restaurants. Million dollar vista from the Miller House Brewery pub at the top of the hill. Fine dining at the Miller Inn.
The wooden boardwalk overlooking the lake is closed right now (June 26 2021) but the picnic tables and the bathrooms are open.
Beautiful and scenic. Loved the place. Very peaceful. Ample parking.
WTH is this County doing? NO PARKING SIGNS ADULTERATED THE COUNTY ROADSIDE . And businesses have no parking at all fir Handicap. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!
Nice lake. Busy with tourists
Really cool to see the sea level difference between the lakes. Really recommend to visit and go for a casual walk.
Picturesque view with beautiful spots for picnic.
Good but sudden rain make us soaked. A shade could be help the visitors.
Great views overlooking Prince Edward County - and a very nice restaurant and bar - great way to spend a sunny warm afternoon.
You think to yourself, as you drive up there for the first time, just how big can a lake up here be?! Well, you're in for a very pleasant surprise.
Cool spot, nothing open over the Christmas holidays unfortunately but a great view from up top.
It's a lake. On a mountain. Above lake Ontario. Whaaa....???? You gotta check it out this summer. Cool places to eat and drink as well. You have two lakes to sit by and enjoy a drink.
A bit busy even on a weekday in summer, but the beautiful view is worth it. You may have to wait for a table at any of the restaurants nearby, so plan accordingly. There's also a microbrewery at the bottom of the hill.
The food was pretentious without being anything more than ok. Old fashioned and boring. The lakes and mountains however were spectacular.
Amazing view! Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful in every season!
Beautiful. Serene. Interesting lake history. Picturesque!
Beautiful must see
Beautiful scenery. Interesting facts about the lake. Very cool to look at a large body of water 300ft above another large body of water.
Great view very nice for a rest area and good little resturant down the road
Amazing view...Awesome place to visit.
To face one direction you look across a beautiful LAKE. Do a 180 turn and you watch a ferry cross the river about 100 feet below you. very scenic!
Very beautiful setting ,gorgeous Lake on one side, stunning views on the other. Restaurant is good, plus craft beer.
Its one of the Wonder to me. Beautiful place.
For a provincial park it's not that big. The trails are easy to walk but not that giod scenery
We return here yearly. Great place to visit in Prune Edward County with a beautiful lake above the water table, intriguing. Great food!
I think this park is amazing! There really isn't much to see beyond the lake which is elevated about 100m (or more?) above the inlet below. That said, the view is surreal and it's worth the visit if you are in the area.
It is a beautiful place, especially if you rent a boat you can see many fish of all sizes. 6 hours for 400
Absolutely beautiful location. Wort a visit.
Lake on the Mountain in Picton was absolutely breathtaking. You can actually sit by the water and just bask in the beauty of the place. The water is crystal clear. The trees, the rocks...everything brings a calmness to you.
Beautiful and great scenery but once you walked around 5 minutes, there’s nothing else. You can’t swim in it, unfortunately.
This place is very nice to visit in the spring, summer and fall. The leaves are awesome in the fall.
Amazing views of two beautiful lakes. There is a small parking lot maintained by Ontario Parks.
The lake is small but serene, not much crowd or tourists around. But, the scenery is not wow at all and there is nothing much to do around. Only a small spot to stand and enjoy the view, with no seating space. Across the lake are the parking spots for a few cars, 3-4 benches to sit and public bathrooms.
The place has a small deck for clicking nice pictures with lake in the backdrop. There is a really small trail along with the deck where they have placed small rocks by the side of river.
Meh. It was very pretty but if you have a scenic view maybe put the picnic tables and seating near it...lol. They are off in the parking lot. Okay for quick stop in and a photo.
Absolutely perfect. I had the chief’s special. It was lake trout that was caught in the same county. It was perfectly cooked servers with vegetables and basmati rice. I sat on the patio with a great view of the marvelous Lake On The Mountain. The staff was very kind and I loved that they brew their own wine. Make sure you have lots of room on your camera when you go. Enjoy!
Very calm and beautiful view of the lake!
Love this place every time I go here. Lovely people, great views, food and drinks. There are mainly two restaurants with patios here close to the lake. Go to the one that is closer to the lake. They are simply better with their drinks, food and service.
The sunset is magnificent. Panoramic views well worth the drive. Will be back here again sometime for sure.
Not your average provincial park. Just a place to park and enjoy the view. There is no hiking other than around the lake and no picnic areas. However the view is incredible.
Beautiful. Not a lot to see, just visited for the day, but the views were stunning and the kids enjoyed the short but fun car ferry
Beautiful view. Very windy and cold at this time of the year. Stayed there just a few minutes and then went back!
Unique and beautiful feature of Prince Edward county. Stopped in for a coffee at Miller's. Great vantage point to see the bay below. Well worth the pit stop on the way back.
This really great place and definitely stop by when going to or from Kingston. Parking is bit limited but worth visiting and the view of Lake at the bottom and top of hill is amazing.
Nice and refreshing view
Love the views on both sides of the road...!!!! Definitely a hidden gem in Prince Edward County...!!!! You get beautiful, amazing scenic views that are just mesmerizing!! I wish there were more nearby food options to enjoy the views longer!
Beautiful area of Prince Edward County. Great views.
Awesome for a latte, stunning view on an elegant patio overlooking the ferry route far below. Charcuterie plate was small but high quality. Also tried a flatbread pizza with gorgonzola, onion which was quite good. Did I mention the stunning view?
Favourite place to visit in PEC.. dreaming of moving here..on the water, west facing with an acre or two.
It's a lake on a mountain..not much else. Dont go with high expectations.
Unless I'm missing something I'm pretty sure all that's here is just a driveway, there's a look out onto the water but nothing else, no hike or anything, not worth the drive
Very interesting geological formation, fascinating in fact... however the area is a bit run down - could be a whole lot nicer with some attention to maintenance and landscaping.
Small beautiful park. Good picnic spot and not crowded.
Great place to visit for a picnic or just to take in the views. Not too much to do one you get there.
Wonderful views and tranquil setting.
Beautiful view of the Glenora Ferry!
No longer free to visit. $3 to park for 3hrs although there doesn't seem to be any enforcement. Washrooms were open and clean. View overlooking the Bay of Quinte is partially blocked by trees and brush. Observation deck overlooking Lake on the Mountain is blocked and disrepair. Minimal picnic tables available but lots of spots to put down a blanket.
Cool to see this Lake so much higher than the adjacent lake... not much else to see but a cool lookout.
Gorgeous love this spot
Beautiful little park. Lots of history.
great place for picnics. get together (when everything opens)
Lovely spot and nice drive around the county! Wineries, veggies and breweries!
Great food, great beer, great service, great view. What more can we expect?
A beautiful spot in Prince Edward County. Really nice to visit for the views. I wish there were hiking trails there so that we could wander around the lake but unfortunately it appears that most of the land is privately owned.
Nice place to visit. Strange feeling when you see 2 different levels of lakes from one place.
An interesting little park area. There is a lake on top of this 'mountain' with a nice viewing area. On the other side of the road is another panoramic viewpoint of the large bay. Very pretty.
Nice to see, too bad you can't walk around the lake
Loved the lake and the view but the restaurant on the same side of the street as the lake was over priced and two of us out of the four did not like their meals. Very limited menu.
Interesting views. Could be better with more information. Bring a sweater or light jacket when going. It was 28c when we went by lake Ontario, but felt like 10c at lake on a mountain because of the elevation and strong breeze!
Pretty mediocre for sight seeing, not really worth a trip. Mountain is more like a small to medium hill. Views are blocked by foliage.
Good view is all that this park has, have no idea why is it even called a park, Provincial park. There is no trail, nothing. Just few picking tables and and amazing view of Lake Ontario and that’s it, they rest are private properties. Don’t have high expectations for this place
Beautiful place, the ride from Kingston along the shores of Lake Ontario was a joy.
It nothing exciting. But my mother that 82 loves it
Good place to make a quick stop. Pretty busy for what it was. I was expecting a better view.
Not much to do unless you have a kayak to explore the lake. No walks. Despite this shortcoming it has great views over the Glenorra Ferry and is a nice place (Winter or Summer) to stop and enjoy a picnic. Washrooms available not sure if they are still open during winter months.
Cycled here and enjoyed a nice walk around before lunch at Miller House.
My husband brought me here, when we were dating. He grew up on the mountain and knows all the trails and fishing spots!
Beautiful place. Very windy.
Wow, I did not expect views like this anywhere in Ontario, what a beautiful hidden gem. I've dubbed it the "Canadian Caldera" jokingly. If you've been to Santorini, Greece, you know the views are incredible. Although this isn't the same, over looking the county from 300+ feet makes it all look beautiful. Definitely check it out, plenty of parking and beautiful scenery. While you're here you can grab a quick snack from the Miller House.
Beautiful views. Bathrooms were gross.
Nice place to stop if you are in the area . Great view of the ferry crossing at the parking lot ☺️
Nice view, serene, romantic!
A couple of lookouts on opposing sides of the road, one overlooking Lake Ontario and the Glenora Ferry from above, the other against the shores of Lake on the Mountain. Unfortunately, the only real dock access for canoeing or kayaking in Lake on the Mountain is on privately owned land. There is no easily accessible location for launching from the park-owned shoreline.
Beautiful little lake, perfect for taking pictures as you drive along the county road
On one side of the road you have a lake that formed on top of a "mountain". Clear, undisturbed, serene with plaques describing its formation. On the other side of the road is a magnificent view out over the Reach where you can watch the ferry take its load from on side to the other. Especially beautiful in the fall.
This is a great spot. You've a really pretty lake on one side. Lots of eateries around it. Frequented by visitors all along the weekend. And then right across the road from the lake is a view of the Bay down the hill!
Stunning that we this beautiful parks in our back yards
Neat place, not a lot to do and see though. Amazing geology formation though.
Nice view, limited space for public. Few picnic benches available for use.
Beautiful place to visit with a lake on one level and another bay of Quinte on other side. Also took a ferry to visit Glenora Ontario, best part was the ferry ride was free. One hops on to it on their own car, it's a 15 minute ride. It was super cold and the water was frozen, our first time travelling in a frozen lake, simply awesome
Nice place really cool how the lake is across the street from a cliff. Parking is a bit limited and crossing the street is a bit tricky.
Love stopping here everytime we're in the area. The trees are getting so high though, it won't be much of a lookout soon. Took this picture standing on a picnic table which I really don't like to do. Loved the colours as autumn is my favourite season.
I was here very briefly. There is not that much to do at this spot other than going to one of the restaurants or posting about how strange this lake is... Very mysterious.
Beautiful lake higher than lake Ontario. Great for a bike ride from Picton. Nice restaurants with excellent view of lake Ontario.
Very small park. Nice views of lake on the mountain and nice ( but obstructed view) of bay . Good spot to stop for lunch and washroom. No hiking trails. You are able to fish is lake with a non motorized boat. No fees.
Beautiful hidden spot in Ontario. We decided to visit it on the way back from Kingston. The Lake is really beautiful and the fall colours starting to show make it even prettier. Will definitely visit it at a later date for a stay.
Beautiful views. Looks like a popular destination. 2 restaurants within steps of the park. A geological mystery.
The view of the lake is ok. The main thing is that the viewing trail is a bit run down and very short. The view of the bay of Quinte across the road is more interesting to me, but you have to look from the restaurant patio because the view is obstructed by trees everywhere else. Worth a stop id if you are already near by.
It is an absolute amazing place. One of the best places to see a sunset.
A little crowded for the lack of attractions. Nice view from the top though.
Too bad you have to pay for parking now.
Beautiful spot. Worth a visit!!
A nice view when looking out through the fence but kinda booting up top. There is a nice boardwalk and sitting area to enjoy the view. Parking and picnic tables are available and there is a restaurant that is usually pretty full during the summer close by
Went there with expectation, didn't met. Weather was mild. Water is very clear and thats about it. In summer swimming in the water would be nice.
The view is great but it is not a provincial park. 2 benches and a bathroom overlooking the view.
Really not all that impressive. Just looks like a lake. The view on the other side is better but it’s hard to see beyond the vegetation. A couple restaurants there have a better view if you pay to eat there.
The water is so nice, I would go again
Was slightly disappointed about the size and location of the picnic area. For a provincial park we had expected more of an area to put down a blanket and relax by the water. There are 3 or 4 picnic tables along the short and rocky coast line and more by the parking lot on the other side of the road but not a nice location to stay for more than an hour or so. The views are incredible and the lake is surely something special to see. There are washrooms on site which were clean and maintained. IMHO Go here on the way to somewhere else like Glenora or Picton but don't make this the focal point of your trip like we tried to do.
Great view, of the Glenora Ferry.
Lake on the mountain or mystery lake is a body of water on top of a hill (duh). Legend says it might be a altar of god's and nobody seems to know the source of water.
Great place to have a picnic or take in the local restaurants or take great pictures. So many little shops in the area. I recommend taking a sunny day off work and go explore the area.
It was just so nice and peaceful, a great place to grab lunch right there too, even a place to stay! The views of the water on both sides were spectacular. I'd def go back and spend more time there next time I'm in the area, it's very close to the June motel which looks like a cool place to stay, and footsteps away is the lake on the mountain resort. It's only a ten min drive from downtown Picton.
Good place to stop and take a break and enjoy the scenery, looks like some nice places to eat as well.
Disappointed. All that is there is a parking lot and a picnic table. The idea of the lake on the mountain is cool but there's no trail or anything to enjoy it.
Great scenery and lake is swimmable. Would be better with more shops and possibly have them open before 11am
Very over crowded, lots of gatherings and nobody was social distancing. I had never been before, hoping to give it another chance maybe next year. Wish we could of went swimming.
A pretty place and busy, but a sign still said no access to the short section of boardwalk.
Beautiful scenic place. Great for pinics and photos. There isn't a lot of other things to do here. But make sure you get yourself a cheese platter and wine next door before you leave. You won't be sorry.
Nice place but to many trees/shrubs, can see the beauty of the lake
It's really surprising to see Lake on one side of the road and 200 metre deep valley on the other side. Only thing I didn't like is the hindrance in the view to the alley from the top. There's are big bushes and big trees by the fence which blocks the spectacular view. It can be made more accessible by adjusting the height of the unwanted obstruction (though I am not in favour of removing big grown trees)
Bathrooms closed during peak tourist times other then that good view of lake and trees
Nice view of the Bay under the mountain on one side and the lake of the other. The park is very small and looks like most of lake is surrounded by private cottages and home. Would be much nicer if there is a longer trail walk aping the lake.
Beautiful but a little disappointed for not having any trails to walk around the area.
Gorgeous. A place you must stop and visit.
Went there every year camping as a kid. Wonderful memories. Loved the sand dunes nearby. Will take own family again soon.
Beautiful place to visit... the view is amazing!!
Pretty, nice picnic area Strangely however there are no garbage cans
Very scenic with the view of the lake and the Glenora ferry as it runs across the bay.
Great little drive for a day trip. Stunning views and plenty of free parking.
Unfortunately the greenery is overgrown so you can't actually see much anymore. If the greenery was cut back some the view would be stunning
Lovely...easy access and right across the street from 2 patios
Nice view, parking facility, nice drive and ferry ride.
Really enjoyed the ferry ride over. Nice place to walk around, and take pictures.
I loved this place, because i was able to enjoy the view, fresh air and the sound of wave hitting the shoreline. Definitely going back to this place.
Gorgeous view, lake on one side and river (extention of Ontario lake ) on the other side , the park is very small though, no trail, not too many table to sit. Parking and public washroom available. If you wanna drive 2 hours from Toronto just to see this , forget about it, you gonna be disappointed, but if you had stay in PE County , this lake is a must see.
Great place to visit. You absolutely have to visit it at least once if you I've in Ontario or Quebec.
Beautiful calm place to enjoy for a day trip
Gorgeous scenery. Found it as a random stop and was blown away. Make sure to take the ferry after
Beautiful place it's on top just of ferry
Beautiful place and the view is awesome! Highly recommended.
Beautiful, clean water. No motor boats allow. Really natural.
Ferry ride was fun. The restaurant by the lake is nice. Not much to do in this very small town tho.
If you are vacationing in Prince Edward Country and you dint visit this lake, you missed it all! Amazing views that take your breath away and soothe and relax the mind, body and spirit.
Beautiful lake that's well worth a visit. Note that there is no real walk around the lake. In fact the walk is about 2 mins long.
It’s not worth wasting your time to look at a fence and some trees blocking the scenery... The lake on the mountain was nice but no hike there. Just a normal lake. Very disappointing :(
It is a beautifull clear lake surrounded by quaint out door cafes and a small resort. Right across the street you are on the banks of Lake Ontario, beautifull views in either direction.
Pretty place. Condition of provincial dock to view lake is questionable. Seems province is neglecting its part.
Beautiful view but no real trails or areas to explore.
Interesting to see it so high above the water below, too bad there isn't a trail around the lake
A natural wonder, the pristine surroundings.of this place are perfect to spend a few quiet hours and reflect.
Amazing wedding venue!!
The place is very nice but has some shortcomings. The view from the overlook is hampered by shrubs that look like they were cut back but nowhere low enough to get a good view. Parking lot is small and roadside parking is hit and miss; we watched a lady unload her child out of her SUV into a stroller in the middle of the road when she was parked on the side. Best advice is to make this a stop while you spend a day driving along the south shore of the island. There are many small towns along the same area roads worth exploring their small downtowns.
Nothing much to do here but it's a geological marvel and the lake is pretty nice to enjoy for a while. If in a group,it can be enjoyed as a nice picnic spot. But as the name suggests...lake on provincial park, dnt get mislead that there are trails or other stuff to do there. Visit if u want to have a relaxed time in serene surrounds of a beautiful lake????
Arrive early as parking is limited after 11 its tough to find a spot. Great spot for an awesome bike trek to the various vineyards
I was there around 15yrs ago and I felt so much peace. I could also feel calmness from the native spirits. My friend and I just sat on a little bench staring at the lake in silence for about an hour. When we left we were so relaxed . We headed to our campsite and just sat by the fire and chilled. I will definately be going back. The lake Is amazing. !
Beautiful drive through the park. A fantastic view of the bay on one side, with an exquisite view of the beautiful lake on the mountain on the other side. Only complaint; the plaques explaining the parks history and mythology have been removed.
Strange phenomenon that lake, up high above the St Lawrence River.
Quaint little lake . Not much going on unfortunately. More regrettably it seemed a bit run down. What would have been a superb view of the bay was pretty much blocked by the overgrown shrubbery in front of the fencing.
This area has a lot of diversity: the view high above of Lake Ontario where you can see Loyalist Parkway continue via the free ferry that runs from Glenora to the section of road that continues east to Kingston and beyond and a small boardwalk and viewing area adjacent to the actual lake for fishing, photigraphy and just plain gazung into the water to watch the fish. There are picnic tables and wheelchair-accessible washrooms, as well as two licensed dining area, and two (or more) businesses with sleeping accommodations. This is not a lake with a public swimming area and I have never seen a boat on it. If memory serves me correctly, this is a bottomless lake and people have died here in the far-away past. Regardless, we love it there and sometimes visit on snowy Christmas Days and take pictures of the ferry crossing the icy inlet and the snow on the cedar fence.
Interesting place but very confusing. On one side of the road is a small parking area with restrooms and a few picnic tables overlooking the Bay. Lake on the Mountain is located on the opposite side and is not visible from the road with no signage to indicate its location. I fear many tourists would mistake the Bay for the Lake and leave the area without having seen what they came for, probably wondering what the big deal is.
Nice view here, but there's not much things to do. They have washroom so don't worry.
Very small area, no walking trails. You have a beautiful view over looking Picton Bay on one side of the road and a visably much higher lake of the mountain lake on the other side of the road. Restaurant and Inn within walking distance to the provincial park.
Had a short visit, lake was nice to see. View of Lake Ontario was better because of elevation.
Breathtaking natural wonder with a fascinating story. A little out of the way but worth the detour, only wish there were more places to eat around there and that there was something open in the winter.
We stayed at Lake on the Mountain resort in September, 2014. We were quoted the wrong rate and upon arrival were told that the cost would be much higher which was very disappointing. We were not offered a credit of any kind just the excuse that there we had been misquoted the rate. We were not very happy. We had make reservations for dinner at the Inn. We arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled time and were made to stand in the bar area for another 15 minutes, again, not being offered any ammenity, might have been nice to be offered a seat and perhaps a complimentary drink??. But, again, nothing. Basically, the whole experience while dealing with the staff was not welcoming or accommodating. We would not stay there again and would suggest that perhaps the staff could use some customer service training.
Beautiful spot. Great if you're in the area and want to see a nice view with very little time.
We went here thinking there would be some trails by the lake to hike around but it truly is just a lake on a mountain. They have some picnic benches you can use when you visit with the family. It’s got a great view with clear water, although there isn’t much space once more people get there.
Lake on the Mountain is a picturesque place to visit, and a great stop to take a friend for brunch, lunch or dinner. My only issue is with how busy it can be, making it less a quiet place to enjoy, and more of an waiting line to take in the view. Perhaps it's just the time of day I visit the area.
Nice place to stop and check out. Not sure why it's deemed a provincial park though as it's an extremely small area. Wouldn't make the trip just to see.
Scenic views, and beautiful kayaking experience.
Nice little lake at the top of the mountain, definitely a great spot for a picnic,. but overal felt there was not too much to do. Couple of smaller restaurants and patios nearby. There was also washrooms and a parking lot.
Amazing contrast between this up high lake and the surrounding waterways. I consider it one of the seven wonders of Ontario :-)
The view was amazing and its not too far from downtown picton
This is a great place to stop on the way to or from Waupos anytime of the year. The only complaint is I wish the washrooms could be open later in the fall and earlier in the spring.
It was beautiful. Great place to have a picnic or have a meal at one of the restaurants close by.
Lovely place....water on both sides....
Beautiful spot for a picnic, lovely clear water, toilets close by and a small eatery too. Spend a nice afternoon watching the sunset.
Beautiful place to stop and have a moment of contemplation. Also has a restroom.
Nice place to spend a quiet afternoon and there are picnic tables if you feel like packing some food although there are good restaurants around which we really enjoyed.
This is an intetestinv phenomenon, but there is no much to see. There is no a vantage point to observe both lakes simultaneously. A view of Ontario lake is mostly obstructed by trees.
Great view and odd at the same time. Lake on a mountain not a lie, so cool
People wonder where is the source of water. It may be underground spring and winter snowfall and raining collection. For sute the lakes ground is a thick layer of clay.
Was so nice to see. Restaurant was closed due to parking ban? Not really sure whats happening there. Beauty Spot tho.
Great lookout with beautiful views.
Awesome view
Beautiful place to visit in PEC. The difference in height from lake Ontario is stunning! The road leading to this place from Picton is also scenic. Free parking available although limited. Only bémol is that there is no path around the lake, like a trail to walk or run.
Really beautiful and unusual anf entirely free!
A lake on top of a mountain! Wow. Where does the lake get it's supply of water from??? This definitely goes against the natural laws. Nature: does not conform or respect "norms." What a spectacular view. How serene and tranquil. How cool and windy. A must see.
Stopped off on our way to stay with friends. Views were great but we did not stay long to say anymore about it.
There is not much to do there. We didn't find anytrail to go around the lake since it's all private properties. Some people were kayaking or doing paddle board on the lake. There is a small restaurant that seems to have a nice view. There is a pay parking lot, but we did not understand why people were going there (?). There is a small view lookout.
Still not sure what is the source of the water in this lake.
Beautiful place, had great time watching sunset ????
Love this place as a destination when out riding. Such scenic views! Not to mention the best mussels are served at The Inn Restaurant!
View is decent but not really worth all the hype. One time visit.
Nice and quiet place!!
Beautiful scenic stop. Really appreciated public restrooms! Cute eateries nearby, but didn't try them.
Nice place to visit in the summer months. You can have a picnic there if you wish or buy something to eat.
