I had an amazing day at the Elmvale zoo today! The staff at the zoo is very friendly and amazing. You can tell that they love each and every animal that they have! You can get up close and even feed a variety of their animals! I highly recommend a visit to this zoo!

Disclaimer: This visit took place August of 2020. The COVID precautions were appreciated and admired; everyone that came here was by appointment only, and while in line they confirmed names and party sizes. Upon arriving to the front, it …

A great experience for kids - you can get up close to the animals and feed them. My kids especially loved the miniature goat enclosure and the baby lemurs are a must see. The little animal show is fantastic. The zoo is well shaded for hot days, and you can walk the whole thing in less than an hour. There is a snack bar which is reasonably priced. Make sure you bring change for animal feed ($4 at the gate and then $0.25 cent machines throughout)

Dominika Brozek

Very well organized and fun zoo. You won’t spend an entire day here but well worth it , for a quick trip to the zoo. The ability to feed a variety of animals is something that many zoo’s don’t offer. The animals are seen up close and easy visible unlike some other zoo’s. Highly recommend.

Melissa Vessio

such a great little zoo! they are doing an awesome job with their reservation check ins & social distancing protocols. The animals all are well cared for & so much fun to feed.

My wife grew up coming to the jungle zoo so I had high expectations. We all had a great time even with covid restrictions in place. The zoo is one way now where apparently you could go wherever before. Animals seemed to be living their best life and well fed. Most animals were in view and available to be fed and everything was clean and well taken care of. The kids had a great time so we definitely be back again.

Elisa Stacy

Love coming here with my family. They have done a great job during COVID limiting people and staggering entry. Staff is friendly and happy to talk about the animals. My kids love that they can fees the animals. Would love a reminder at the animals you can feed and what they like best!

Brian Kurth

I really didn't expect what I saw. Its not African Lion Safari. Iys not the Toronto zoo. Its a great little place to introduce kids and families to animals. Its clean the staff are friendly. Good walkimg trails. We got to feed the animals. The only thing i would ask. And maybe it was there. Is have a sign that tells us the food the animals like. The bucket had different things. Knowing what they eat would be great. But as i said. Great place. Will be back with my little one.

Lots of different animals, although the layout is a bit back and forth. You can buy snacks for the animals and hand feed them, with handwashing stations nearby. Cute stuff in the gift shop. Also there's a miniature goat pen you can go in to feed them! Bring a picnic, there's lots of spots to sit and relax!

Sean V

First time here, was a great experience very kid friendly. Every path was well marked. You get close to alot of the animals and they are all easily seen. Very much worth it. Will go again. Prices were reasonable. Attached are some photos from today.

Sherry Johnson

We love this zoo. It's close to home... it has a nice number of animals and a walking trail that won't take too long. The kids are happy when we go ????

Reed Haw

Pretty cool place. I've never seen giraffes up so close, you were actually able to feed them. It's also really cool that you could go in and pet the goats, and there's lots of animals there for people to see. Really awesome place.

Claire Darvell

Had a wonderful time here yesterday with my partner. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Although I haven't been to a zoo in years, I'm happy I went here for my first visit in a very long time. ** Absolutely adore the lemurs and birds here!

Amanda M melissa

Amazing staff ???? kids absolutely loved this zoo. The giraffes were the highlight but the baboons were so much fun. Feeding could be a little perfected differently but other than that great experience. ????

Kenneth R. Bandeira

A nice small-scale zoo. A large variety of animals with an “up close” animal experience. Feeding some of the animals, including a giraffe and monkeys, was a fun and unique experience. Would definitely recommend this zoo over the larger zoos. Will be back again!

Precious¡ Loved every single part of it. I had a wonderful experience ghere, the service was good, always answering wich ever cuestion we had. Since we entered till we exited there was always sometjing to look at, jiraffe, tiger, lions, white lions, parrots, gucamayos, especies of birds, monkeys, goats. My favorite part was the goats, you can enter and play with them and you are allowd to feed them, it is very fun. I recomended to any type of public, children, couples, familys, absolutly for everybody.

My son absolutely loved it! Price is fair and the bucket of fruit/veggies for the animals are so worthy!

John Green

Good time had by our big family, 6 adults 9 kids. Prices have gone up big time, cost $20 per adult to get in plus $13 per child. No gift shop available to offset the cost of admission. Some new enclosures around the zoo show that they are doing something to freshen up the old zoo.

Michael van Schalkwyk

It's still a Zoo but the animals look well looked after, the walkthrough because of COVID-19 was well organized. Friendly staff, really fun that you can feed some of the animals, especially the giraffes. Worth a visit

Stu

Great place. Feeding the giraffes is an absolute blast and they have a decent selection of animals. Good sized enclosures too. As a photographer this is a great setting to get good clear shots of the animals due to the larger spacing in the cages. Though of course the enclosures for the big predators are more secure.

Amanda Potts

Lots of animals to see and they don't force you to wear a mask which is nice. My 2 year old son loved it. We will definitely be back.

Ryan Smith

An absolutely amazing experience at the Zoo today. Had a chance to meet this little white tiger and see the many amazing exhibits they had! Definitely a great value for the whole family to get up close and personal with a wide range of animals. The staff made the experience positive and their passion for animals is very evident! Would highly recommend a visit to this zoo!

We love this Zoo So much! the place was well taken care of, the staff were so nice. We loved the little learning areas amd animal shows. The Best feature about this Zoo, which makes it better than the Toronto Zoo, is the fact that there is LOTS of shade when your walking all that way around. The view is so scenic and gorgeous. I love that this zoo is located in a forest type area because on the really hot days, especially with little kids and babies, theres so much shade to cool down out of the sun. Elmvale Zoo has to be one of the most scenic, gorgeous zoos I have ever been to. The kids really enjoyed themselves. The prices for Food were reasonable and not over priced. They have a great variety of different animals. Such a great time!

Deanna G

Awesome little zoo! You can even feed some of the animals which makes the experience even better. Definitely recommend!

R & A Hunter

Very well kept place. Lots of shade! Spacious paths. Steady pace of traffic. Good upkeep of health and safety. The animals do not seem miserable. Feeding buckets for the animals with fresh variety and good information boards of the animals as well what they eat. Staff are friendly. Highly recommend to visit with or without the kids.

Andria Diane

Went in at 4:22pm ish when they were open until 530pm today, and that hour gave me just enough to see everything I wanted and it was super dead so you actually got to see the animals. Some of the habitats look like they need a good clean but don't know if thats intentional. One of the birds, looks like its digging to get out of its cage and was chewing at the top, didn't look very happy. Otherwise they all looked healthy. Neat you can feed the giraffes????

Mathew Mccluskey

Amazing place to visit. We brought the whole family. Very good procedures in place to help everyone social distance. The animals were amazing and there was lots of different things to see. Definitely go and che k it out.

Valerie Weir

Great spot for a great afternoon with family. All the animals look clean and very well cared for. Staff was super! Helpful and happy to be there.

LUCY MONG'INA

Lots of animals. Great place to learn and experience. It's beautiful. The only thing is if they would increase the contents of the feed bag.its too little

Justin A

Great little zoo. Had no idea this was out here. Easy walk for kids, and lots of animal feeding opportunities.

Dan Lensen

This is a nice place to bring your kids when you don’t want to walk 20km to have a zoo experience like you have to in Toronto. It has lots to see, is nice and clean, and lots of opportunity to be interactive with the animals. Other than the girl at the food stand being really snotty, everyone else was very nice.

Kyla S

Cute place, perfect size for small kids. Enough shady spots, a small playground, and a lot of seating. The animals look happy and well cared for from what I could tell. Went on a school trip and really enjoyed it!

Ron McCallum

It's a great place. I went as a single older father to take pictures if the animals. Watching the kids have so much fun brought back a ton of memories

Cadig Marcano

Great place for the family, kids loved feeding the animals, the tour take about 2 hours , no facilities to buy anything

Olena Ukraine

That was incredible experience! Kids loved it! So many animals! You can feed them!

Giovanni Serebro (Gio)

I was pleasantly surprised with this zoo. It was an awesome experience to have some of the zoo animals so close, which I find unusual from most zoo experiences. Being able to go up close and feed the giraffes was a fun experience! ???? Areas of improvement: more clear instructions for when/where shows are and access to a park map with which animals are where and of course if possible add more animals. With those comments though it’s important to note the zoo is relatively small so some of the improvements I mentioned may be nice but not 100% necessary, still an overall great experience!

Angelita Banton

I brought my kids to Elmvale Jungle Zoo and they had a great time seeing the animals and being up close to the giraffes, antelopes and alpacas. My little one thoroughly enjoyed the animals as he got to feel and fed the giraffe and antelopes and he was so excited. I love the fact that it’s not too big or too small and you can take you time to explore the animals. It’s a great way to get your kids learn about animals and nature and also to get outside to play.

Hailey

all the animals were so cute!!! my only complaint is about the animal food bags. my family and I bought 4 bags total, 1 bag per family member. we fed the giraffes a bit and then saved the rest of the food for the other animals. we were confused on what we should feed the animals since there was no sign telling us what they ate/preferred!! we were unaware that there were only 2 areas where we could feed the aniamls so we walked near the end with a ton of food left in our bags :( we walked all the way back to the alpacas to give them the rest of the food!! It would have been nice if there were signs or separate smaller bags which tells us what to feed what

Tim F

We had an incredible family adventure at the Elmvale Jungle Zoo as we explored and learned together. The journey at the zoo began with an amazing staff member who allowed us to enter even though we didn't make reservations. Don't make our …

This was an excellent family day trip! There wS lots of animals to see from anaconda to zebra! Well marked easily accessible trails! Feed pails available for the kids to interact with all creatures great and small! Will definitely be back for another adventure!

Y B

Honestly loved this zoo more than the Toronto zoo. It's a simple walk. There's always exhibits. The animals are generally in view. You can feed the giraffes, goats... …

Sharon Mesdag

One hot day to be there the animals were pretty lethargic and you couldn't blame them. You have to book ahead for an time and day. Try to stay with your group going through because everyone was removing their masks. It would be nice if some people could patiently wait their turn before plowing through. The staff was great and everything looked clean.

Tony Tao

Lots of animals to see and it’s better than other zoos. You’ll need to book a time slot for your visit. Hence, it’s not as crowded and you’ll get more chance to see animals up close.

chelsea m

Great little zoo! The little ones had a great time, and they loved feeding the animals. $10 for a bucket, 3 and under are free to enter. Was stroller accessible and easy to walk. Gift shop is closed due to covid.

Darrick Li

A great, COVID-safe outdoor walkthrough zoo. They maintain capacity so you're not walking by people within the zoo area paths. A good variety of animals with some that look to be well-kept and are critically endangered. Great time for kids to enjoy big cats and tall giraffes!

Jeremy Ings

Loved this place. Had a great time with the kids their, and feeding some of the animals was an added bonus for sure!

Nobarun Dey

So far I have visited many zoos here in Canada and other countries but I have never enjoyed like here. It is very cheap, well kept and maintained, washroom is very clean, so many animals and most importantly animals are active and healthy. You can have a very close view. You can feed most of them if you want. Kids will like it so much. Higley recommend. Far better than Toronto zoo for sure.

JANE MCCARRON

During covid19 the zoo was very safe. Social distancing was adhered to, there were several hand sanitizer stations and you had to book a time to arrive so there was no line up. The kids (9+8) had a great time. It took about an hour to see. I was surprised by the number and variety of the animals. The very friendly talkative parrot was a favorite.

Naomi

Love this Zoo! ???????????? Went with Family, was so amazing and fun seeing all the Exotic animals from around the world so close to home! Hope to visit again in the future! ????????‍♀️

Faz I

went here with a group of friends. great place for kids. took me about 3 or 4 hours to look around but its not really big like the toronto zoo. you can cover the place in just 2hrs. free parking. picknik area. playground for kids. we got to feed the giraffs dears monkeys..but not the rest of the animals specially the tigers the lion was asleep. kangaroo flamingoes snakes parets and few more animals were there. we enjoyed the animal show and petting the goats. you can bring your own food for piknik but not to feed the animals. we were able to buy some food and few bananas to feed the animals. overall this place was good.

Ravine Pinter

Great place for the family or even just adults! Our daughter had a blast seeing all the animals and being able to feed some as well. There was such a huge variety of animals I was honestly pleasantly surprised! We will 100% be going again this summer!!

maureen mccullough

Didn’t think we did this anymore, these animals are suffering in captivity, My daughter asked me to go with her to take my grandson! Definitely should have listened to my instincts and not went... …

Carla Giblin

Absolutely wonderful zoo. The animals are so social and we love that we can feed them from the bucket purchased at entry. Helpful staff and a great way to spend a couple hours with the family. Paths are easy to walk, love the 1 way direction and other COVID protocols. We are local and go multiple times a year, will definitely return this summer!

Karen Sims

My granddaughter and I had a fantastic day! Being able to get so close to the animals was awesome! Feeding the giraffes and the zebras was a highlight. Can't wait for our next visit.

Vanessa Gradon

Love, love, love this Zoo. Other then the concession stand and gift shop being closed it is better then it has ever been. Make sure you bring everything you need because there is no re-entry. ????% buy the food bucket. We LOVED feeding the animals. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.

Rahul Mody

Small zoo which will take around 2hrs with toddler. It has most of the animals there. They provide $10 food bag to feed the animals. We went in the afternoon so many of the big (lion, tiger)animals were sleeping or taking rest. We bought the tickets online. Visitors cannot consume any food inside the zoo or take the food.

Adam Campisano

Overall good experience. Some of the enclosures seemed a bit small, but the animals seemed to be in good health (I'm no vet). Our 4 yr old really enjoyed himself. We didn't feel rushed to get through and everyone we dealt with was pleasant. Could probably include a bit more food in the $10 bucket for feeding the animals.

Jess R

Good little zoo, enough animals to occupy the family for a few hours no doubt. Plan your bathroom break, it's at the beginning of the park, dont get caught on the far side and have to go, it's a long way back! Other wise a fun place!

Natasha MacDuffie

Elmvale Jungle Zoo has adapted well to the pandemic situation. They have made a new trail so it is all one way, no need to back track. You currently can't feed or touch any of the animals. The only issue we faced was the bathrooms are at the beginning and you aren't allowed to backtrack on the one way trail, so just be aware of that. There is also no re-entry allowed at this time. Still love our little zoo and will be returning soon!

Denmar Logistics Inc

Took our 19 month Grandson. Had the best day in a very long time. Lots of animals to see. The staff were fantastic. Spent 4 hours if enjoyment. Recommend this little Gem.

Alex

Best Zoo in the area. Lots of animals, which are very easy to see. You can feed and pet a giraffe and many other animals. Trails are nice. And its amazing for kids.

Amanda Swinburne

had an amazing time at this zoo. so much to see and do very enjoyable for younger children! less walking as it's a smaller zoo then say Toronto which was nice no cranky tired out kids. we did a round caught one of the shows had a picnic then went around again (kids in a wagon the second time) it was a lot of fun!

Na Per

Great place to take the kids. You get a close up view of the animals and can interact with them. I would rate the experience as better than the Toronto Zoo. There are lots of animals and it's larger than i thought. Also the walk was great with lots of shaded areas.

Claudia Tran

Great little zoo. Especially families with small children. My husband and I went with our little ones and we liked that it was big enough for the babies to enjoy it. We liked it too.

Jennifer Bechan

Honestly we walked in with lots excitement as we could see a couple monkeys swinging infront of our parked truck. 1 adult three children 3 buckets of food $94 for 1.5 hours stretched. We were told use the bathroom by the flimagos as there is no others, not once we're we told that you can't go around twice. So basically what they do is accept so many families at a specific time that were walking in groups on top of eachother. So when I told my children we will come back to the giraffe and saved food for them because there was to many people at one place (4/5 families) we were unable too. Staff follow and watched us like we were thiefs, sat on the fence watching us. Lions pacing back and forth, other animals only had one little patch of shade they had to squeeze in, small cages, board animals if I had to guess, bald eagles space was overtaken with trees how does he stretch his wings, smells awful in some places. Did not check our bags or ask us to complete covid screening. Definitely not worth $100 for 1.5 hours disappointed, seems like a cash grab to get as many people in and out as quick as possible. We drove an hour and then minutes definitely never again.

Rose Lee

Amazing staff and even more amazing animals! Always wanted to come here and finally did and was not disappointed! You can get up and close with the animals but safety protocols are well in place. Would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

cindy kirkpatrick

We have loved visiting this zoo for many years! A wide variety of healthy, happy animals and you can get up close to them! The walking path is shaded in spots to keep everyone comfortable. Always staff available and they are very knowledgeable. Family friendly, clean and inviting establishment! A must on your summer fun list!

Stephanie V

Great little zoo close to cottage area. Best part of the zoo is that you can feed a bunch of the animals, including the giraffes. $10 for a bucket of food for the animals is well worth it. Can do the zoo in as quick as 1 hour or up to 3 hours depending on your pace. Eat before or bring a lunch with you, snack bar is very limited.

Richard

A place everyone should go, to see animals, especially with kids. Not the biggest zoo, but is has a really nice set of animals, 2 to 3 of each kind, a nice trail setup in the forrest with plenty of shadows and cool air (1/5 is more open …

Alison Moffat

My first time visiting this Zoo and it was awesome. Great place for kids we loved it. It is a walk around Zoo but it's not too bad and there is lots of shade. Plenty of animals to see just bring drinks, there is only one small shaded place …
