The open area away from the city lights makes the dark sky look amazing. Find your peace here!

Star gazing should be in everyone's bucket list

Nice place! The sky here is very broad and you can see many stars here. Here you can easily see the Milky Way. Disadvantages: too close to the highway, often when taking photos always have car light into the pictures☹️

The night sky is great here but it is too close to the parking lot and road so there is alot of annoying light from cars and other people who are not there for star gazing. There was even people with RV's in the parking lot sitting around campfires. The installation of a wall around the viewing platform would be ideal to keep out these annoying distractions.

First time viewing with my telescope and what a great place to view the sky.

Best dark sky viewing area near Toronto, Kingston and Ottawa. There’s quite a number of people there too

This was my second visit to a dark sky area to take photos of the Milky Way Galaxy. The location and facilities were great, and I would like to visit this place again in the future. One drawback of this location was that it was close to highway #41, which was carrying a lot of traffic. There were a few times when I had to retake a long exposure because the headlights or tail lights of a passing car showed up on the image. I could get around that by timing my photos of the Milky Way Galaxy to when a vehicle went by since I could hear the vehicles coming. That didn't work well when I tried to take a series of long exposure photos to make a star trail image. Every once in a while the headlights of a car would show up on one of the images. I'm not 100% sure, but I also believe that the light from Napanee in the south was visible in the Milky Way Galaxy photos.

Handy little spot on Hwy 41 between Napanee and Kaladar, Ontario. Very low light pollution levels, great spot for star gazing and night time photography. Minimal parking available. Unorganized boat launch further down the trail.

This is a very accessible dark sky viewing spot. It has a parking lot for couple dozen cars, and a paved viewing pad with a sign for viewing suggestions, even a portable washroom. Visitors please respect the area to avoid unnecessary light and noise. Also leave no garbage behind.

Amazing. Could see Milky way band. I found this better than the Torrance one. Torrance is too noisy and disturbing place to be. Could see Andromeda Galaxy as well and shot some from Samsung Galaxy phone. There was a moonlight starting midnight and it beautifully reflected on the photo which was set to be 30 seconds exposure at 400 iso. Beautiful lake in the trail nearby. Calm and silent.

Would have liked it but the weather was not good

We'd Oct 6 2021 811pm , long exposure pics a challenge due to traffic on 41.

Handy to the road and one of the sites is very level. Portapotty available. Very steep boat launch. Only down side is the abundance of poison ivy . Easy to avoid but challenging if you have a dog.

Great spot with a great view, most of the people around here are pretty considerate of the light pollution. Don't expect to go there and have the sky look like a poster, you have to not only give your eyes a chance to adjust but you have to hope that the cloud cover isn't too bad and the humidity isn't out of control. If you look at a lot of those pictures that have those big clear bright bands in the Milky Way showing, a lot of the times you notice it doesn't look very dark outside? It's because the camera is on a long exposure so please keep that in mind before you take pictures of the sky and or upset that they don't look like that

Nicely set up, but very close car traffic interferes with photography.

The clear sky, less wind and little moon light will satisfy you

Nice place to see the stars. But I felt very scary as there was noone else other than us. This place needs to be more famous. I would suggest to go there if you’re at least 5-6 people.
