Nowadays the business gets a score of 4.4 stars over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is really positive, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the score is very accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their review when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

A wonderful place to enjoy a fine local wine in a relaxed setting.
We loved the wine, and had the best time at this winery thanks to our wonderful server Cassidy. She made excellent recommendations and was absolutely delightful. Thank you Cassidy!!
Food was yummy ????
Great purple barn and staff are nice. Tried the reisling and chardonnay and not a fan of the wine. Great atmosphere to sit outside for a glass of wine.
It's ok, not much options to eat.
The outdoor setup makes for such nice wine tastings on a sunny day
Celebrated two of our friends birthdays and this was by far one of our favorite stops in the county! John and Katie were amazing, they know their stuff; and were awesome in recommending other places and activities in the county. The grounds are also! stunning We will be returning soon!!
Wine selection is excellent. The vineyard is beautiful. The vibes are nice. Not 5 star because we ordered charcuterie and thought it was coming in a board. It came in a plastic container, that kind of threw me off. They also brought the bill out to us after 15 minutes. I am pretty sure that was because we are not white.
My fiance and I were supposed to get married this past weekend, however being in the midst of a pandemic, we decided to postpone. Still wanting to celebrate somehow, we decided to take a day trip to Prince Edward County and we landed at Closson Chase. We were warmly welcomed by the front staff, and guided to our table. The winemaker, Keith, found out we were supposed to be getting married that day and came to greet us. We had a fantastic afternoon at Closson Chase. Keith and staff were spectacular and so knowledgeable . Everyone was kind and humble. And even though staff were wearing masks, you could tell that they were smiling. A big THANK YOU to Keith and staff for helping us feel special on what was supposed to be our wedding day. We will definitely be coming back to visit.
Grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the purple barn is really striking. Staff very friendly and welcomed us right away. They give you your wine on a little tray and you get to sit outside which was a really nice touch. Good variety of wine and what we tried was quite nice. Really enjoyed the chardonnay. Would definitely go back.
For our first time going to Closson Chase we had an amazing experience. The wines are terrific and the staff were just as good. John and Sara(h?) were extremely friendly, insightful and hospitable. John went above and beyond to ensure a fun, interactive and informative tasting session. The staff and wines have made us, as new transplants to PEC, Closson Chase locals.
Very nice place, amazing wine and great service by Logan ! We will come back for sure
Very friendly service, dog-friendly covered barn area, great wines
Bad and slow service. There were four table and three people serving. We gotta left alone for quite some time. We called for service and we were told someone will be with us shortly. Other long wait, after watching them cleaning other tables , they start checking on other tables who had their food drink to see how they are doing. Not sure if it is bc we were the only Asian group. But we defiantly Felt like mr cellophane among other tables. They clearly don’t understand the definition of hospitality. Stay away. They are many other winery around the are treat everyone nicely.
Fabulous grounds! The back patio is awesome as was the sparkling wine! ????????
Amazing! Clean and friendly staff. Actually served wine in a glass, $15 for tasting 3 1.5 oz glasses of your choice. Our server was amazing, explained the wines and was extremely friendly. Even took a group photo for us (sanitized his hands before and after) ! Would come back here again!
One of the best places we visited during our trip! Chardonnay was outstanding. You can enjoy your tasting in a gorgeous garden out back. Such a relaxing, delightful way to spend an afternoon.
One of my favourite wineries in PEC! Beautiful garden in the back to enjoy some nice wine.
Wine selection is excellent. The vineyard is beautiful. The vibes are nice. Not 5 star because we ordered charcuterie and thought it was coming in a board. It came in a plastic container, that kind of threw me off. They also brought the bill out to us after 15 minutes. I am pretty sure that was because we were peoole of colour. As a local guide on Google, I leave respectful but honest reviews and the restaurants always have a chance to discuss. Just need to speak up to make these establishments more aware of how they can not make peoppe feel uncomfortable.
One of the must visit wineries in The County! Excellent wines, service, gardens and hospitality!
Lovely venue however the service was poor. Understandably, it was a weekend with a lengthy line to get a seat. We waited about 20 minutes to get any service or acknowledgement. The server stopped by our table a max of 2 times. Dropped off our wine and food without explanation of the wines or the vineyard and just moved along. No socialization with our table at all. We couldn't wait to leave.
This place is stunning. Love the purple barn, great photo opportunities. The wines I found were average for the County, I found them a bit high in acid (which is OK) but maybe due to the climate nothing really had that juiciness to it. In the winter time they had these great little lobster rolls to go with a glass of white and that had us come here a 2nd time (unfortunately no lobster rolls this time).
Our experience was ruined by the hostess. She made us feel not welcome and was talking very quietly when walking us to our table. I had to ask her to repeat and still didn't get what she said. I tried three white wines and they all were just ok, too dry to my taste. We were there at 2 pm on Tuesday and they were already sold out of food in the restaurant. I gave two stars for the look and style. Great place to take photos. Was missing music for the vibe though.
Great ambiance. Overlooking a vast wineyard.
I came to this winery hoping to discover something new in the county. The winery charges 3.50$/2 ounce tasting! This is by far the most expensive I've yet seen in the region and overpriced. When I pointed this out (nicely) to the staff I got a bad reaction which was pretty much "take it or leave it". At this point we all left and they lost four customers. I haven't tried their wines and won't be back.
Best vineyard experience ever. Calmly tasted wines in the gorgeous vineyard in the County. One of the prettiest wineries I have ever been in Ontario. In love with this gigantic purple barn. ???? Excellent service!
Delightful outdoor area that has come about due to COVID, and wonderful staff and service
Great locale - nice backyard patio - their 2017 Grand Cuvée Pinot Noir is delicious - friendly staff - really popular place so come early or expect a bit of a wait - they also have a bottle shop so if you want to grab and go you can avoid the lines but I suggest a tasting flight if you can
Definitely in our top 5 wineries to visit in PEC. Can easily spend an entire afternoon sitting in the vineyard sipping their South Clos!
We spent a wonderful hour at Closson Chase Vineyards recently and were tremendously impressed by all aspects of our visit. The vineyard has such a beautiful and pastoral setting which enhances the experience. We were particularly pleased with the service and expertise exhibited by our server Katie. She took time to explain and answer all of our questions. Overall a fantastic experience.
Such a fun time! The wine was very nice and the tasting we did was great. Our wine host knew quite a bit on the region and the wines produced ! Highly recommend
Service really know what they are doing, plus some amazing wine.
John and Katie were great at giving us the experience we were looking for in Prince Edward County. By far the most put together and organized winery in the county after covid and their wine is top notch. The girls will definitely come back here. Make sure if you are visiting the area for a winery that you include this one
Beautiful property and some nice wines. Not the greatest service on the patio though.
Great energy. Beautiful setting. Quality Pinot.
Very friendly service and incredible location for a tasting in the backyard overlooking the vineyard. Their wines are delicious.
Really nice winery. We went there and ended up spending a lot of time. While we were doing our tasting, the live music started. We stayed back n enjoyed more drinks, food n music. The person serving us wasn't really having a great day, lacked enthusiasm completely. Regardless, we enjoyed the wines from the ala carte menu versus the ones that were presented in the tasting menu. Overall it was a nice experience. Highly instagramable!
Nice little winery... excellent views... nice selection of wines to try by the glass... albeit one of the more expensive ones that we checked out! *Tour tip* Avoid arriving by Chase, as that road is littered with potholes and will test your vehicles suspension!
One of my favourites in the County! One of the rare things COVID hasn't ruined. Sit in the back with a flight and some nibbles and you'll have a wonderful time. Those oak-y Chardonnays are to do for! Plus their (pre-COVID) charcuterie board was wonderful! The cold chicken chow mein is a delight!
We had an excellent time at Closson and Chase this past weekend. Cassidy offered excellent service and was super friendly. We had their Chardonnay and it was one of the best we've had. We bought two bottles to bring home. They also have a very cute purple barn. Would highly recommend
First class wine and the perfect set up. You select your flight and then move outside to enjoy it in the garden.
We went for the tasting experience just because a friend told us the "purple barn" was really cute. In the end of the day, the tasting experience was amazing! It's more expensive than other tastings in the region, but it's certainly worth it. We've tasted 4 wines + a sparkling wine when we arrived, the sommelier was awesome and passionated, told us about the differences between the wineries in PEC and Niagara and some curiosities about the winery. The wines were also amazing - we bough some of them to drink at home! The only thing that could be better is that the tasting is in a different place, and not the barn, which is a little confused and we arrived a few minutes latter because of that.
My favourite vineyard in PEC. Always good for a calm sit and guaranteed good quality wines indicative of the region.
Had a nice visit here. The barn itself is beautiful and stands out with its bold purple colour. We sat outside and had a wine tasting of three wines and it was just really peaceful and enjoyable to be able to do so. Personally I enjoy a wine on the sweeter side so there wasn't much up my alley but I think if you're a true wine connoisseur then this would be a wonderful experience!
Incredible wines - the loyalist Chardonnay was our fav! And the glassware was an incredible touch. It makes such a difference! And the garden sunshine in October? Talk about perfect
Service extremely slow even though there was hardly anyone there. Portion sizes were very small. Definitely over priced and the wine was horrible. We dumped out half of our tasting and the table beside us left $50 of tasting on the table. Do not recommend.
Gorgeous vineyard. I can’t remember the man who helped my boyfriend and I but he was really awesome and explained everything great. Overall nice experience! Check out the hammock chairs too.. we liked them!
One of my favorite vineyard in Prince Edward county so far! Delicious chardonnay. Tasty lobster roll.. my bf & I were on a bike wine tour adventure and got caught under the rain. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend time. Great wine tasting, relaxed ambiance with live music in the renovated grange and beautiful set up outside. We didn’t wanted to leave even when the sun returned. A must.. we will return.
Personal opinion: Visited a few times now (5 stars), can't say enough. Quality, care & attention to detail with a great staff & ownership.
