We had a great campsite and there were lots of activities to enjoy... beach, pool, campfires and welcoming locals. A lovely week of time away☺️
The people in the park are great, the campground is awesome, management..........tread lightly.
My family camps here at least one weekend a year. Clean park, beautiful setting.
As mentioned by others, the staff seriously need training in people skills. The so called managers of this campground are extremely rude and created a huge argument over something very petty. I will never go there again, and urge others to look somewhere else. Also, the sites are extremely small for a larger camper, and more suited for tents. The one star I had to give is still too high
**Update...under new management. We returned to camp for the long weekend and it was the best experience we've had. New manager is the best so far. Very friendly and approachable. Even the skunks are friendly ;) Have camped here for years, both as a seasonal camper and as a transient. Love the facilities and area in general. However, the new manager is very rude and lacks any social and customer service skills. Very disappointed and will not be back.
Transient camper there for a couple of nights. Site access is extremely tight due to tree stumps and trees. When you book your site tell them your camper is much longer then it actually is, otherwise they will put you in a site suited for tents. Electricity can’t be more then 10amps and the breakers are not located on the power pedestal. You have to call the front desk when you blow a breaker. Seasonal campers there seem to be pretty friendly and I’m assuming there power must be more sufficient. My advice to anyone wanting to camp there short term and use all amenities of there camper, is to find another camp ground...
Used to be 5 stars, but now that they charge a daily visitor fee per adult on top of the annual fees already paid, they've lost my vote, and perhaps business going forward. The staff is great, the owners not so much.
Been there 3 years now, I have seen the changes that have caused some to be upset and voice negative comments I also watched the park go from party central to 11 pm and all you hear is the crickets. The amount of families with children has increased where it is certainly considered more of a family camping then a weekend of drinking with your buddies I am confident in the management that runs this park to keep it safe and respectable, Keep up the good work cedardale, looking forward to many years there Paul (smilely) Emery
The park is beautiful and the people and the staff are great. The owners (Killam Parks) are awful - don't expect to much from them and you won't be disappointed!
Not much for children to do ,
I love the park I have been there several times my mother is a seasonal camper there. How ever they have dropped alot of activities for the kids. Other than that it's a great park to go to.
Nice friendly campground. Sandy beach, park, activities for the family
Wonderful place lovely people
We visited this place for a day and the people made us feel like we were old friends! Great facilities, beautiful waterfront, and lots of activities to enjoy.
Great place and very friendly staff. Will go again soon
Scenic area
(Translated) Beautiful but there is fly! (Original) Beau mais il y a de la mouche!
Very noisy park even after hours
Terrible roads ,expensive to visit family ,no parking for visitors, overall not impressed
Nice location by the beach, we were lucky to get a spot by their nature pond which was amazing, spacious and relaxing. 45mim drive from Sandbanks, close to downtown Brighton where you can get groceries. Overall great customer service, location and structure. Only and main thing that needs improvement is their 'washroom' - it needs some deep cleaning and painting. If that was in place I'd have given them my 5 starts.
Lots of fun, a nice quiet, peaceful clean trailer park. The kids area with the pirate ship is awesome, the beach is beautiful and the pool is a great touch. Lots of activities and games for the kids. And a very convenient little corner store.
I enjoyed my stay at Cedardale. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The campgrounds and beach area was very clean. The cottage I stayed in was very clean and I didn't have any problems. I WILL be returning. I would recommend this campground to all my family and friends. Can't wait to go back.
Beautiful little spot... Rememebr being a kid kissing my first girl there.... Nice beech pool and little park ...lots to do
Have been there for over 13 years. Love the beach and activities.
Facilities were great, however they were rude. They really discriminate against young people, even if you're polite and decent people. They accused us of stealing bikes and searched through both of our cars and personal belongings. We felt that was a little invasive.
Very pretty and well maintained park. Excellent location right on Lake Ontario.
Beautiful white sand beach on Lake Ontario
Decent camp ground. Spent the past three years camping there along with many friends. This year though the price has been raised and the park has not been kept up to standards. The pool was not ready for inspection for the first main weekend of camping (didn't appear to be even cleaned). When we inquired about having our premium daily rate of $56 reduced due to the pool not being usable, we were denied. Disappointing because we considered it our "home" camp ground and planned to go seasonal. Thankfully, these things happen for a reason and we have found a nicer seasonal camp ground at a better rate. The workers are very nice and friendly though.
Always a great time and great staff
Very nice campground. When I booked I never noticed they didn't have a boat launch since I normally go to fish. Really didn't bother me. Beautiful tent site sheltered by the trees, 30 feet to the showers and the washroom. Nice beach, pool and a friendly staff. I'd definitely go back.
Beautiful place
I have been going to Cedardale for many years and this year we have noticed a drastic change in the atmosphere of the park. We don't mind people having conversations around their campfires or even the occasional loud laugh. What we do mind is a group of 8 to 10 teenagers hanging around the bathrooms for over 4 hours at night smoking weed and making anyone going into the washrooms uncomfortable. They were at the washrooms taking over, they sat on the counters, smoked weed, were loud and obnoxious and did not leave until around midnight we could hear them from our site. No one did a thing about the teenagers in the 4 and half hours they were there. What used to be a relaxed fun environment has turned into a place controlled by wardens of convenience, they will give you heck if you are driving too fast by a km but do nothing about actual illegal activity. Not a good environment for families by any means! More focus needs to be spent on the overnight and weekend campers because this weekend it was out of control! I really hope that something can be done in regards to what I experienced this weekend because otherwise we will NOT return to Cedardale Campground. Perhaps it's time for some new management, someone who will make this place a fun destination again!!!
I'm pretty new to the campground only just purchased my trailer back in mid sept after spending just 1 weekend there thanx to my boss I feel head over heels with this park not only is it very kid friendly but so far after meeting around 20 different people there thanx to a certain miss cedardale or should I say mr cedardale ???????? i have felt nothing but fun, warm welcoming good times there every day a blast and thanx to the help of very good staff I got my dream trailer right beside the playground might I add which is perfect for my family of 4 I recommend this camp grounds to any one looking to spend a fun exciting weekend at an amazing park or to purchase 1 of the many trailers they have for sale and become a permanent resident there from May to Oct you will not regret it I know I didn't ????????
Its ok but I dont recommend this to anyone I know just really mixed reviews and have been told for the last five years its slipping down hill do to the killam Corp. They are killing the vibe from what I understand
Nice area... tent sites too close together. Not very private.... very small beach area.
Beautiful but not as spaced out as other campsites I've been to. Quite cramped in. People were lovely and friendly though.
I'm 12 and have got in trouble many times for not being on my sight right at 9:00pm and playing manhunt and not making very much noise or trying to dunk on the BASKETBALL net or being in the park 5mins after the light goes on
This was a great campground for the kids they had a wonderful time. They played volleyball, went swimming in the pool that was heated well, it was cold and wet weekend so it was great that they turned up the heater for the pool. The staff and campers were very friendly.
This place used to be really good. Went downhill after management change.
My family has camped at Cedardale for 15 years, we were very involved in the parks activities for many years. In September 2015 we received an email from the new managers stating they were not renewing our contract for 2016 season, they evicted us, when we asked why, they said they did not need to give us a reason, we tried to speak with Len Goreski their superior and he told us, he backs up his peoples decision and we were to vacate within 4 weeks. We had no complaints, no verbal or written notices, it was a personal issue Chris and Lorna had with us, we had challenged them on a few issses and they didnt like that, so they got rid of us. The managers allowed their personal feelings get involved and they abused their positions. We have known 10 campers that have left Cedardale because of Chris and Lorna, and I'm sure their are more to come. -Chris tried to intimated the teens and made them feel very uncomfortable. -I questioned him regarding posting signs on the pool gate, stating "due to use of suntan lotion the health dept has closed the pool", the health dept would not say that, We have never seen the pool closed so much in 1 year that they have been managers than in the passed 15 years. -There was a young staff member caught hiding in the bushes taking pictures of campers properties, when we approached him and asked why, he told us that Chris had asked him to do this and that Chris wanted evidence on file just in case he had to evict someone. -My daughter wanted to rent the tenting area for her friends to come for a weekend, she was told Cedardale is a family park, and that they had no vacancies, we spoke to Lorna and Chris and the admitted they lied, there were vacancies. -My husband built a deck for our friend, Chris offered to get rid of the wood from her old deck, we were to find out that another camper had asked if Chris if there were any stairs that were being thrown out and Chris said yes but it will cost $50. cash. -Chris had also mentioned to a few campers, that he did not want "local" people camping at Cedardale, his plan is to get rid of them. -We have a known "pot smoker" and Chris knows exactly which site they are on, they party till all hours of the morning and Chris has given 1 written notice for the entire season, but we have had no notices and we get evicted meanwhile they still get to camp at Cedardale. -Chris has anger issues, a camper came nose to nose with Chris as Chris was clenching his fists, and in the campers face, over an issue that Chris admitted he was wrong, this was all done in front of children. In July Chris had built a deck for a trailer on the beach during company time, this deck took approx 1 week to build. These are just a few issues that went on last season and with us "challenging" them, we feel that we need to let people know what the managers are all about and if you like Cedardale and want to continue camping there do not say anything to them because if you stand up to them you too will be evicted at the end of the year, so walk on eggshells and happy camping. I hope that Killam is aware of the people they are hiring, my advice to them is please next time hire someone with a customer service skills, the last 3 managers had no customer service skills at all, but these 2 are the worst.
Ok kinda close together nice beach though
We had a great time!
Great place to camp, guests and residents are welcoming, we will be going back to camp there again.
Site was a dark, dank celler with a dirt floor.
Family-friendly atmosphere very beautiful grounds.
The people at the park are fantastic but the management is terrible. The park manager is very rude. I have been camping here for over 10 years and have many wonderful memories. This year when I showed up to the park and seen how the Manager speaks to people around the park I was disgusted. I was at the park for the long weekend and rented a site for 4 days and I ended leaving a day early because my family and I were not enjoying our stay.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! AMAZING BEACH! BEST STAFF!! SWEET COTTAGE!! My family had a wonderful time here. So much that we will be booking the whole summer 2022.
Great camp ground.
Great place with great neighbors.
(Translated) Family campsite with a small beach and a beautiful swimming pool. The facilities and the staff are very good. A little dense in population so lacks a little privacy (Original) Camping familiale avec une petite plage et une belle piscine. Les installations et le personnel sont très bien. Un peu dense en population donc manque un peu d'intimité
Clean, Beautiful beach & family friendly.
We love the park....have been going for a few years now. No problems at all.
Great sites great people
I dont know what people are complaining about, the website says FAMILY campground, not college party zone, I have been travelling to many campgrounds this summer, Cedardale is by far the, the most peaceful experience so far this summer. The staff was nothing but professional and firm about the rules, which I had no problem with, they were kind and helpful , they helped me park the trailer (Thanks Lee) and always waved and even stopped by to see if everything was ok. If you want a FAMILY place to go, with no animals partying until 3am every night, this is the place to go. I will be back here again, with my family, thanks for a great week Cedardale!!!!!!
Nice park . Hydro sucks left early because there was enough hydro to run the basic of our trailer.
Been an awesome first year so far at Cedardale. Both Chris & Lorna are MORE than approachable and helpful. They have both given us some pointers and advice, which we appreciate as we are newbies. Some of these reviews are from out of left field. You need a stickler for the rules at these parks or they go to pot real fast. Bottom line is we love the park and we feel safe...and my daughter loves the activities and staff. Keep up the good work Chris & Lorna!
We camped from Monday to Thursday. The bathrooms were never cleaned the whole time we were there. When we were leaving, someone was in there cleaning, 4 days later!! Other than that, the site was large, nice, grassey and kept up. One other thing was the hydro, it wasn’t strong enough to run all the lights and fridge in the pop up. We had to use 2 separate hydro poles.
Best place to camp or set up a trailer the beach is warm the pool is nice the nebiours staff are all very kind
This campground has declined incredibly. The new manager is incredibly rude and ignorant. This park is supposed to be a gated park but the gates haven't worked all last season. Rather than repairing the gates, the manager chooses to put a chain across the north gate to inconvenience the seasonal campers. His reasoning is that too many non campers were coming into the park and they had to stop it. Strange as the main gate was left open and vehicles went in and out without being checked. When questioned about getting the north gate repaired, his answer was to ask an employee to get my file to see if there was anything in there about gates. This is how he treats a seasonal camper that paid over $4,000.00 for 5 months of camping. We got so discouraged with the lack of service that we seldom camped last season. My wife and grandchildren got to the point where they weren't enjoying the park. At the end of the season, we pulled our park model trailer out. I rated this park one star and had I been able to rate it zero stars I would have.
Nice place on Lake Ontario. Trailers and some cabins. Very reasonable.
This is a beautiful park. The staff are great, and campers are friendly. This park offers a great mix of comforts and nature.
Excellent place to camp. Friendly staff, clean, large campsites and access to lake and a pool.
We are so happy with how we have been treated in this park. We moved our trailer in for the season and I cannot tell you how amazing Chris (the manager) has been. He has gone way above and beyond the call of duty to help us get set up and organized. The people here are friendly and a great family atmosphere. Lots of great activities. The staff are friendly and helpful. I truly recommend this park who anyone wanting a beautiful, clean, family oriented spot to enjoy your summer. We love it.
I have been camping at Cedardale for 21 years
The park is beautiful, the people here are the best. Killam Parks and the management not so great.
Fantatstic place for familr
Absolutely the most horrible place we've ever been to. Bathrooms were right out of a Stephan King novel. Managers kids constantly in the pool throwing stuff making hard for anyone else to enjoy it. Had to make an appt to even go to the pool yet again managers kids were in it all the time. Smelled like sewage everywhere. Not recommended by any means. Next to impossible to get the trailer in the site if as seasonal trailers were basically wherever they wanted. And the non seasonal sites for weekenders were basically under water as the drainage in the park is no existant.
One of the worst campground I have been this summer! Really! Electricity is so poor, we can barely make toasts in the morning. Forget about air conditioning! Normal voltage for decent electricity is 110 to 120 volts. We barely had 97-98 volt which is dangerous for electronic devices and even your fridge! I have been on propane all weekend. Not to forget to mention, there's a race track not far, very noisy! Access to the beach? Which beach? That 30 foot long crap they call a beach? No way that's false representation. Will never ever put a foot there, even if they would let me camp for free!!!!
Omg stay away!!!! We arrived excited for a 4 day getaway booked way back in may. Upon check in we are told that whoever took our reservations mistakenly booked us into tent sites and they had no room for ourselves or our friends trailers. Very rude and unprofessional, didnt apologize for the mistake or offer any reconciliation. Had to fight for our refund!!! The reviews are so accurate about management being ignorant!!!
