Horrible, horrible experience. Date: February 2 2019. Situation: Trains 52 and 62 from Toronto at a standstill for six and a half hours near Brighten. Eventually 150 frustrated passengers arrived at the next station, Belleville. Does not deserve 1 star.
My complaints are not about the above situation, but our treatment at Belleville station by the staff or rather lack of it. There were several older people among us who struggled over that notorious bridge. On the other side of the tracks there was one information lady for 150 tired passengers arriving simultaneously. I cannot comment on her as the line-up never seemed to move. I could not get near. Did we proceed by bus or train? Nobody could/would answer. There was one small, dark-haired lady (the same one in the review below?) in charge of the Montreal bus who treated me as if I did not exist, turning her back on me. There was one fellow in charge of the Ottawa bus who claimed to know nothing. I saw no special notice board about what we should do. I was going neither to Montreal nor Ottawa but got no information. Eventually a train did arrive going my way, which I boarded with no help from the staff.
Where or where was the stationperson, or whoever was in charge? I have deliberately waited two weeks before I wrote this review but still feel the same way. So my complaints about Belleville station. Lack of staff in an emergency that even CBC website knew about well in advance, lack of communication by staff, incivility of treatment by staff.
Shame on you Belleville!
