It’s not for me. It had plenty of fake grass, a fake harbour and a fake beach. There was also exceptionally loud air conditioning fan noise throughout the resort. There isn’t a great view anywhere unless you enjoy staring at the many resort buildings. This might be for some people but it’s not for anyone who enjoys the natural beauty of this country.

Review of Avenue Restaurant: My friends and I tried this restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon and would never return. It took over 40 minutes to get our meals (3 meals were pasta and butter and ceasar salad). Staff said it takes long because they make everything fresh. This isn't true. The GF pasta is not made on site and if it were true, fresh pasta takes 5 minutes to cook. The portion sizes would feed a baby and we were charge 45.00 for 3 butter pastas. What was most concerning was the lack of mask wearing by staff. 90% of the staff had their masks pulled down (not covering mouth or nose). Chefs had no masks... it was actually horrific to see. I'll never eat there again. FH needs to step it up when it comes to places to eat.

I was shocked when my husband who has been working for Friday harbour went in with another worker to grab some lunch and were sold a burger for 14.00 and then told after the purchase they can’t eat on the patio or in the building because they are contractors not residents. I’m not sure how that rule works but clearly they were made to feel beneath the Friday harbour standards!! Clearly discriminated against because they are helping to provide services like hydro and water to this facility I guess that’s the thanks they get. Will not recommend this place to anyone. 2 couples I know where looking at buying and will not be now because of this. Sadly customer service does not seem to be a priority to all!

Very nice place to visit grounds and marina are very well kept and very clean. If you are visiting by boat see Harbour master as you have to sign in. All Restaurants are by reservation only so please plan ahead or you may have to wait. I would like to see a better selection of food as the only 2 Restaurants are pricey though I understand if that the clientele you are trying to get to come there but this will alienate many good customers.The Beach Club food is very well portioned ( see photo) and well worth the price. Note to management of Friday Harbour the summer is your peak season and there is a lack of shaded areas to sit to get out of the sun please see photo for a simple idea yet effective the longer people stay the more they will spend, but we still had a great day out on the water and the lunch made it even better.Thank you to the Beach club staff and the Marina staff friendly and knowledgeable made our visit enjoyable.

Further to my review, It was great that you updated your site regarding information for nonmembers, but you could have tried to reach out to talk to me to acknowledge my concerns, rather than just change the info on your site. Secondly, I called a few days later to speak to someone about what happened, and one minute into my explanation there was complete silence on the other end. I kept saying hello but there was no one there. I was hung up on! Come on, what’s with that? Does anyone employed by Friday Harbour or it’s owners care about anyone but themselves? You have zero customer service and should be ashamed. I have no more words...... Friday Harbour..looks nice but ISN’T. My mother and I made reservations at the beach club for lunch. I was sent an email confirming the reservation, along with instructions upon arrival. We were told to park in the East parking lot and then to phone the restaurant advising of our arrival. They were then to send a shuttle to bring us to the restaurant. Called the restaurant and was told the shuttle was only for members and that they could not pick us up. When I explained that their site gave us the instructions above, and that I was with my 85-yr-old mother who could not make the long walk in 90 degrees, the response was “sorry there is nothing we can do”. We then went to the trailer on site in the parking lot and the woman told us she would call security and make sure someone came by to get us. After standing in the heat for 45 minutes, waiting for the shuttle to take us to our now 45 minute late reservation, someone showed up. He also said “sorry members only”. I begged him to take us as we were 45 min late and my mom couldn’t make the walk. He apologized but said he couldn’t. I believe the ride by shuttle is probably 5 minutes. Lastly, we saw another shuttle and I tried one more time. I was told the same thing. He felt bad and called in to security to explain our situation. We were finally told we could drive in and park in handicap parking as long as we had a sticker. As I was driving my car and not my mother’s who had the sticker,, the Head of security said if we didn’t have a sticker, no go. What is wrong with you people? Firstly, update your site advising that nonmembers can indeed come to any of your restaurants, but expect to park and walk there. Also, no shuttle would be picking them up. Had I known that, I would not have driven 1 1/2 hours with my 85-year-old mother who is incapable of walking in sweltering heat to get to a patio! No patio is worth that. Secondly, learn compassion. Treat people with respect and dignity. Just because we were non-members, we were treated like we had leprosy. Go the extra mile, try to help. We were so disgusted by the entire experience. We then needed to start looking at 2 pm for another place to eat outside of the precious Friday Harbour. You have a lot to learn about customer service.!!!!!!!!!

There isnt much to do at Friday Harbour yet. It seems as though the stores/restaurants are all still under renovation. Went for a walk along the boardwalk. It has a great atmosphere. Lots of ambiance and seating. It will be a wonderful place one day.

What a great destination. So much to do. Or not. Beaches. Marina. Boardwalk. Shops. Restaurants. Hiking trails. Pools. Golf. Or just sit on the deck and enjoy the breeze. I swim/bike/run. Simcoe lake is an amazing, clean, comfortable open water swim. Mostly flat country roads with good shoulders are great for biking, running.

Great facilities! The town homes are well built and spectacular in height. Glass from top to bottom facing the ⛵ marina. The staff is generally friendly but we are still far away from a private country club feel. Looking forward to the progress by 2019!

The marina staff is great although the gas is quite pricey compared to other marinas. The starbuck is a great destination but the service there is generally slow.

Not a homeowner? Don't bother coming. This place is not for tourists. Not much for you to do unless you have your own boat and are a homeowner. Staff were extremely rude once they found out we were not homeowners. Beach is off limits, website says guests have access to shoreline and water, but that's a lie. Also don't go into the trails without bug spray, went one morning and was eaten ALIVE! Rented a place here for a month as our house was undergoing renos, we drove into Barrie everyday just to find things to do. The inside of the condo was nice.

It is a beautiful area on lake Simcoe with condos and homes by the lake.. it was still under construction when I visited first time in the winter. But I expect it to be lively busy during the summer time. It's only one hour drive from Mississauga one hwy 401 then 400.

Keeping in mind Friday Harbour is not finished yet at this point, it is a beautiful place. The trails are gorgeous and the condo I'm renting from Ania Baska is absolutely stunning. Ania has a corner condo which over looks the harbour and lake Simcoe and it's right next to the elevator to the parking garage. We are right over the welcome centre, Starbucks, the bar and steps away from the cabana where if it's nice out they have bands and social gatherings. The balcony has a bbq patio set and outdoor seating area. Inside is a one bedroom condo, the bedroom also overlooks the harbour. Very nice updated furniture and features. We have rented for the month of June and so far we are very happy here.

This whole Friday Harbour business is overrated and not what it's made out to be. The strip boardwalk is decent fresh nicely laid out and modern but nothing special.. will get better next few years with couple more venues and the much needed bar pub and what not... They call themselves a resort but the units don't even have digital cable tv service and only one of the condos have a private pool. It's quite ridiculous you rent a unit for a month or 2 or more and the landlord should at least include passes to the beach club pool etc. $350 per person give me a break. Worst of all at night the whole property is full of millions of spiders and cobwebs everywhere which is disgusting and they should be doing something about it. Even the restaurants that do nothing about it even though they are charging premiums as if they're in Boca Raton and charging ridiculous resort fee on the bill. Friday harbour is an overhyped overrated so called resort.. and good luck in the Winter. You can get easily bored there sooner than you think. Once they have the hotel the site and vibe will get much better as long as it has a beautiful pool property as well. The condo units are well decent well appointed but absolutely not worth the rental rate of $5000+ per month for what you actually get..It needs a small retail space and small mall incorporated inside.. that would be a hit.. there's just not much to do other than entertain in your condo unit..The new lake club looks awesome. Wouldn't have been such a terrible investment pre constris there..ction ofcourse..I mean certainly the value is there

We were there July 2018. Only Starbucks and one restaurant was open at the time for the general public. I can see this being a great place to come for lunch or dinner in a year or two. Free boat parking as well. If you buy a condo or townhouse there you have access to other amenities. We will be back next summer to check it out for sure.

Beautiful, unexpected resort place in Innisfil. The beach is open for public with rental kayaks available, also there will be restaurants and even Starbucks! The beach restaurant, the pool and the splash pad are only available for homeowners. Otherwise it's a luxury, high end place that looks great and is still in progress.

The place itself is amazing! Very well done. My aunt and uncle bought a place here and I for one was wowed. I am disappointed in some of the service we received. It's quite disappointing how people will treat you differently according to the colour of ones skin tone. I have to say the moment they find out you own a lot on the island it's a whole different ball game. Until then they look at you like you don't belong there and this is regarding the head waitress or the boss at the club down by the pool where it's members only. She was rude and very standoffish because we were different compared to everyone else until my aunt mentioned the lot number of her house she lost her attitude so fast it was hilarious. All in all the place is great and from what I see it'll be a huge success. I need to applaud the man whose the head of all the golf carts and the Infiniti cars and I wish I could remember his name but you guys have a gem in him!

Friday harbour is a beautiful place. It is really becoming a special location and my family and friends have made memories here. We have eaten at Avenue and fishbone and love grabbing a coffee at Starbucks and walking the boardwalk. You can chill on the beach or bring the kids to play in the park in the summer which is nice. Check the site for events like ice skating or music.

Well.... this place is only for the people who own property there. It's not for tourists. You have to buy a condo there to use the amenities. If you book an Air B&B there, you can't do any of the activities, you can't use their pool or the small beach area they have. Forget about dining there. You need to book weeks in advance. There is no purpose to this place. Total waste of beautiful land.

Beautiful location and amenities. 90% of this harbour/Resort is towards the paying members and residents. Only one restaurant to eat at and most areas are blocked off for “members only”. No boat slip which was irritating and they take the docking seriously which is understandable. The dock boy was quite rude and un-welcoming which gave an off putting first impression. Worth a one time visit.

Nice place to visit for the day or to have a condo at. It's also nice to go for an afternoon and enjoy the afternoon get some groceries, get some shopping done. It's too bad you have to be a condo owner to use the beach and the pool. I was told there was a public beach but I didn't see one. Hopefully they will make one in the near futore for the innisfil residents. I really liked the pottery store. It's nice to make something and be able to use it at home. If you have kids they will love this store. A few different food trucks to choice from. It was weird I was the only one wearing my mask. Don't people rezlize they should wear the mask and social distance. People should be more careful things aren't like they use to be.

Don’t go unless you have somewhere to go close by. HOMEOWNERS ONLY!!!! Makes no sense if you’re renting from a homeowner that’s not present. I would think you’d be taking their place??? Should at least have a membership fee for paying guests that are renting a unit. My guess is they want you to buy. Making it hard for homeowners to rent. Barely a beach. Only one dinner restaurant. Nothing casual. Thank god for Starbucks. 10 wasted days. Won’t be back

There is definitely a huge need for improvement and they have a long way ahead to get a 5 star rating. They have done a beautiful job building this resort. However, it is not well suited for visitors and not everyone could use the facilities. It it mostly for unit owners. As a resort, they could have put an entrance fee for visitors so they can also enjoy using the facilities. The beach was too small for swimming. But everything is so clean and luxurious. We didn’t try the restaurants since they all required reservations. I hope they would improve in the future. The resort could have been better.

Went to Friday Harbour to see the amenities as a potential investment opportunity. Unfortunately we were not able to try out the amenities even for a fee. We tried the beach but unfortunately it was extremely dirty and stinky. Overall the condos looked pretty and all the amenities around.

I do not like this place at all. Way too pretentious and it feels as if everything has been packed into a very small area. The waterway is much too narrow and when people move in with boats, it is going to be impossible to move in the water. Way over priced as well.

Ground floor shop with boating essentials, as well as member and transient amenities available. A number of fueling pumps available to reduce or eliminate waits.

Friday Harbour is a newly developed housing project and for every householders having their own jety to yard their boats. Specially gate to the Simcoe lake.not only that there's Swimming pool. Play grounds. Club house. Canteen. Parking facilities. Etc.

The Executive Chef served me a meal that I could barely eat it was so bland. The only thing I actually enjoyed there was the salad appetizer. I recommended to the waitstaff that the chef either add a touch of spice or salt while cooking or have salt and pepper shakers on the table. The menu has a lot of potential but overall I wouldn't pay to eat there again or recommend it to anyone.

As an owner here, it's a lovely resort. Heated pool, quaint beach, board walk, nature trails and beach club restaurant are available. Its a great little getaway from home. As I understand Starbucks is opening July and Fishbone restaurant in August 2018. Yes, there is still plenty of construction going on, so renters need to be aware of this, as well as understand that currently only homeowners have access to the pool, beach club and some other amenities. Renters can enjoy the general grounds, nature trails, go for a bike ride, rollerblade etc. and still have access to the beach. Being about 10 min from Barrie for major shopping, it's a great little vacation for family time and relaxation. Check out Airbnb-I rent!

Friday Harbour is a beautiful resort located approx 1 hour from Toronto. Great place to spend the weekend or even as a cottage. I am a cottage owner nearby. I came by boat with 8 people party just to enjoy the waterfront restaurant. Guess what! It is for members only and hence 100% empty! Also it is the only one! Very surprising business model. They serve tastless $12 burgers down in the resort if you walk towards the parking lot and sell $7.50 bottled beer. However, I definetly prefer a ride to Laguna city across the lake and enjoy waterfront restaurant with very good food or another 20 minutes to Barrie and visit a brewery near the public dock. They may have future at Friday harbor, but not there yet.

What a super cool complex this is! Much of it is still under construction, but it is mainly up and running now and is definitely worth the visit. We arrived by water in our boat and in my opinion this is the best way to fully see the whole property and just a cool way to arrive. Having said that you can absolutely drive here and see it for yourself. The beach bar and pool are reserved for owners, apart from that we had full access to the complex as visitors which is awesome. And if you really love it you can buy a condo and live there ????.

Went to Friday Harbour off the water after a long day of boating. Was told to go to the Fish Bone for lunch but then got turned away from an empty restaurant because it was reservation only. When I asked where we can go at Friday harbour for some food I was directed to a take out window at one of the other restaurants that was closed to public at that time. I paid $80.00 for 3 burgers and a hotdog, served in Togo containers, and ate at a picnic table. Now I’m not complaining about the take out food I’m not a picky eater at all... I am just saying that a big resort like Friday Harbour doesn’t have anywhere to eat.... I was hangry and with a 4 year old, that’s all.

Beautiful place! We attended for the official lighting of the Xmas tree. They had crafts for the kids, free hot chocolate, cookies, cinnamon buns, fire works and a old Volkswagen van decked out for xmas for a photo both. They had a model of the resort in the office, they will be building a hotel on the property. They will have summer activities and winter activities for guests. It a must to See! Walking trails, star bucks to get your coffee and just stroll around. We had a great evening .

Well this was such a let down. We drove 1.5 hours to get there. We called before going up and were told there were tons of stores on the boardwalk and two amazing restaurants. Well there are no stores really. There is a Starbucks and two restaurants and a liquor store. We decided to eat at fishbone as we were celebrating our anniversary. We waited 5 minutes for the two hostesses to even see us as they were so busy talking to each other with their backs turned away from the entrance. We asked for a table for two and were then told how we needed reservations. All the tables were empty and it was after 12 Noon on a very hot day!! The hostess suggested to call first next time. We did call first this time! Then she said well you should have called us not the customer service people at Friday harbour as they don't know what they are talking about. We didn't even know the fishbone restaurant existed until we called Friday Harbour! How they hell would we have called fishbone first? We then waited as these hostesses stood there and kept checking reservations, 1:30, 2:30 and etc. The feeling was very elitist and snobby. I then thanked them for their help and told them to not bother to keep checking as we were actually putting them out. It had a cold unfriendly members only type of atmosphere. We felt like we were intruding. We cant comment on the food because we didn't even get a chance to try it. There are no signs, no help for tourists of any kind. Lots of boats, concrete and artificial grass.

As beautiful as this place is. I give this place 0 stars. I paid good money to spend the long weekend here with my kids to find out that there is no access to anything. No mention on their website that is considered false advertising. That is against the law. Misleading the market calling it a resort. When it’s clearly private access to home owners only. That’s not what a resort is. Resorts are for paid guest. I highly don’t recommend people to rent a Friday Harbor Resort. NO ACCESS. I hope over time people will stop spending there money here to support this local community due to misleading information and false advertising by calling it a Resort. On top of that I couldn’t even get a seat at a single restaurant there.

I went for the skate trail. It says its along the boardwalk (which means nothing to me as I have never been there) but the board walk is probably 150m. The 'glice' is interesting to skate on it is almost sticky and I do not recommend this for beginner skaters, it is much more difficult than regular ice. There is also a small rink to skate on (about the size of a back yard rink) this is regular ice. Also there is no indication that you have to park and walk a decent distance. We had to call security for clarification on where to park because we thought there would be somewhere closer. Overall it was nice to get outside and do something but we only stayed for half an hour it was underwhelming.

Extremely misleading. You cannot stay in your own place for more than 185 days in a row. You must have your condo or town home vacant for two 30 day periods EVERY YEAR, yet still pay maintenance fee’s and taxes all 12 months a year. If you plan to rent your place at anytime including making any money from Air B&B be sure to disclose that anyone staying in the unit except for the registered home owner ON FILE cannot use the restaurant, any amenities such as the gorgeous outdoor pool and bar, yoga studio, resort activities. So don’t plan to make any money renting to anyone. No one will pay the ridiculous prices these home owners are trying to get from unsuspecting renters. Complete fraud. There is nothing but noisey extremely dusty construction going on at all times. Nothing relaxing AT ALL.

On August 17, 2020, a year prior to my booking with Melissa and Domenic Canini who own and rent their unit at Friday Harbour, I etransfered 1/2 the total cost of a three night stay at their condo. They confirmed the deposit and the booking for September 23-26., 2021. This was originally planned as a wedding gift to my niece who was to be married at Friday Harbour on September 25th. On May 7, 2021, I emailed Melissa to let her know that my niece's wedding had been cancelled due to Covid and I asked her for a refund of my deposit. After waiting almost 2 weeks for a reply and not receiving one, I assumed she was not in agreement with the cancellation so I told her I would find someone else in the family who would use the booking. She later replied with an apology that she had been unable to respond but did not offer me the option of a refund. As a result, I decided to give the booking to my daughter and her boyfriend who was visiting from the UK. A couple of days before the booking, I messaged Melissa to let her know that they would be arriving at Friday Harbour at approximately 3:00 and that I would need details of parking, unit #, etc.. She texted back the morning of September 23rd saying the condo was a mess due to the prior booking and she needed time to clean it and repair a stained couch. She indicated this would mean no one could stay there on the Thursday evening. In her words "I'm so sorry! I have no intention of cancelling but the guests that checked out yesterday were disgusting and there's no way we can host today". I proceeded to ask her in several subsequent messages whether she meant my daughter could stay there the following 2 nights but she didn’t respond. As a result, I had to book a last minute unit at Friday Harbour. The unit was more expensive and not as well appointed as the one I had originally booked. I have now been following up with Melissa and Domenic for the return of my deposit. I have sent various texts and emails over the past several weeks to no avail. I believe Melissa double booked the unit at a higher price and therefore, my booking was cancelled. I am very angry about how I was treated in this transaction as well as the Canini’s unwillingness to return my deposit. After reading my story, I know you’ll agree that this is akin to fraud and no one should have to go through what I’ve gone through to get money back that they have no business keeping - they cancelled the booking, not I. I am writing my story to warn others of the risk of booking with the Canini’s. They have chosen to steal from me. It is a scar on them as well as Friday Harbour.

It's a great place! My family and I went there for a day visit. We do not own any property at the resort. So, we were visitors. The parking is free. It has a great Starbucks and a restaurant open to public. Also, there is a public beach with a snack bar available to public for free. The band was performing during the day at the marina (not at the beach) and there was a snack bar next to it. There are some private areas dedicated to the owners. But, the resort has a lot to offer to the general public.

I purchased a pre construction condo here 3 years ago. After being 1.5 years late I'm about to take occupancy. The builder used Cocid as an excuse to deny a pre delivery inspection (PDI) The builder arranged a third party PDI. I received a defect list 1 and half pages long. This included damage to flooring, tiles, window frames and closet doors and even the entry door. Large cracks, missing or damaged shower tiles and caulking. The builder states no repairs will be done until the pandemic is declared "over". That could be two years! Anyone purchasing units should be forewarned. Im not new to buying pre construction condos. This is really poor quality control of their trades. Don't even get me started on the taxes and maintenance fees. I'm paying cash, and it will still cost me 1400.00 a month to live here. And I can only legally live here 10 mos of the year. Surprise! FH, come for a day. Go home and never come back!

A good friend had arranged a going away dinner for me at the beach club this past weekend and our group of six were looking forward to this evening. Unfortunately it was not what we had hoped for. When we arrived it was pouring and we asked to use the shuttle but were told it was for homeowners only. The shuttle drove past empty twice. Once we made the long wet walk to the Beach Club we were greeted by a snooty hostess that made us feel less than welcome. She told us to stand outside until she was ready to deal with us. Once seated we eventually had our server take orders and she did make us feel welcome. Food was good but not great for the price they charge. Final blow to this night was the surcharge on our bills because we are nonresidents which we refused to pay. So let me get this straight. Friday Harbour had to open the Beach Club up to the public because the homeowners were not supporting the club. They take reservations and our money and try to slap an extra surcharge on our bill for services we were declined use of. I would never visit this restaurant again. Don’t waste your money on this place. Barrie has better options for fine dining. Only good about this visit was time with my friends.

Review for the Avenue Restaurant: it looked inviting so we went in to try. I can't believe how absolutely terrible the Funghi pizza was for $20...in my history of having pizza this is the worst show of a pizza ever and that's a lot of pizza. The pizza was dry and only had amount of cheese in the center and a sprinkle of tasteless mushroom bits on top...probably from a can. The entire pizza was not salty or had any taste and yeah it was like eating cardboard - now I know what that expression feels like. I was thinking this was a joke and on TV or something.....but it was not. I am still in disbelief and what a shame for a restaurant to show this....horrible. The Margherita pizza apparently looked even worse. Never again to return...

Most likely the worst service that I have ever experienced. Got seated ten minutes late (we had reservations) and took another ten minutes to get a waiter. It was obvious that he simply wanted to go home as he wasn’t very pleasant. The large windows were open and it was chilly outside. We asked him if we could close the windows and he said “no...I’m not cold”. Other tables had it done and we asked again and he finally closed them. The food wasn’t very good, wine was $30 more then what we pay at the Keg. He never came to see if everything was ok while we were eating. He came over, grabbed the empty plates without asking if we were done. Came over and said that we are being transferred to another server which we didn’t see for 15 minutes and all of us had empty drinks. She finally came, we asked for the bill and then she didn’t come back for twenty minutes and she had forgotten the bill. I spoke with the manager afterwards and he wasn’t very apologetic. I told him that we had read the reviews (not very good reviews) and still decided to try it. He agreed that the reviews are bad. As we walked out he mentioned that he had something for us and I told him to keep whatever it is as we are never going back.
