Great Park for walks, bike riding, roller blading, or jogging. Beware of bugs at sundown. Old Allandale train station looks restored but not open yet. Looks like a good spot for a restaurant and a few souvenir shops.

Tourist information is here. When we go there, it was closed. But, 7 days a week it is open. And a bicycle pump I found. It is helpfulfor biking people. Parking lot fee is $3 a hour.

As a lifelong Barrie resident (40 yrs) , It is Appalling that there was even a debate in saving one of Barries most significant historical lanmarks. For If The old Allandale station never existed, the people, visionaries and the materials to build our great city would have never arrived. And it is this Train station you can thank for creating true economic opportunity, for our beloved family's.

Beautiful park. Great for biking, jogging, and walking. There is a fantastic view of the Barrie waterfront as well as the restored Allandale train station which is still yet to open due to legal disputes. Keep in mind that there is pay parking unless you are a resident in the city of Barrie; in which case there are certain parking locations where you can park for free as long as you display the parking pass you have been provided.

Took Go train to Allandale Go station in Barrie to explore waterfront trails there on my bicycle. I highly recommend travel by go to this station if you want to explore Barrie waterfront on foot, bicycles or your mobility device. Parking in area costs $ 10 per hours 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Save yourself lot of headaches and money and travel by Go to this station. Look into Go weekend pass if going on weekend. Go Trains also offers discounts to seniors age 65 or more. Enjoy the area atleast once if you live in GTA

Get off at the Waterfront...and walk into the city....the path and Marina are beautiful in the summer and winter...it takes a bit to walk but it's worth it...or you can catch an Uber or transit to the city centre...

The park has expanded over the years. Clearly the city is putting an effort at maintaining it. It's our favorite spot to go for a leisurely stroll in town.

Barrie is full of parks and this one cannot be called a hidden gem. But I did go jogging here for many days throughout the summer and it was very pleasant. There weren't too many people, the cool breeze from the lake and its scenery added variety and freshness into the jog - it is a great experience. There is also wildlife here. For example, this is the only place where I have seen wild foxes - a mom with five little cubs. She appeared multiple times and the locals even knew where she spent most of her days. The park itself doesn't offer much shade, but it is clean and amiable.

Cool ice rink. Had lights for night, boards and nets. The ice also has a cooling system. Unfortunately the ice was pretty torn up and it was kind of busy(although this means there are lots of people for a pick up game!) Overall pretty nice :)

I enjoy coming to events here like Kempenfest and Illuminate (Illuminate was awesome). This park is always clean and has a nice even trail with a gradual gradient, for easy walking. Lovely waterfront views.

Great views. Lots of events happen in this park. Parking during events is atrocious, expect a long walk to get there from parking....if you find any. Great walking/biking trails but not much to do for kids if no event. Go around the bay a bit to the main park for a playground, beach, snack bar etc.

We attended for Kempenfest and had a great time! We parked at one of the outer lots and took the shuttle and were very glad we did as the parking close by was crazy! The only issue we had was the food offerings were extremely limited for us as we are vegetarians but otherwise it was a lot of fun.

Nice water front park. Be nicer if the bike path was wider and there was more signage advising pedestrians to stay out of the bike lanes
