A nice large parking lot, which is all that we used since the museum was closed that day (I think they're usually closed then). But there's access to the York river and the riverside walkways. Nice for kayaking.

Loved this museum! It may look small from the outside but there's a wealth of history on the inside. One thing I loved about this museum is that unlike most museums, we were able to interact with the pieces (e.g. the organ, the record player, the radio). Tons of fun and the staff were fantastic. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting Bancroft

Loved it all kinds of old stuff inside to look at. friendly staff kids even got to do a scavenger hunt in the museum. Alot of cool stuff in one small space thanks

the UV room was super interesting. actually bought a black UV light when I got home to check some of the rocks found in the area.

You know...most people just dont have time to go to museums at 2pm on a Wednesday... but they do on Sunday. WHY ARE YOU NEVER OPEN ON SUNDAY

They have done an extensive renovation since I worked there and a lot of my favorite pieces have been put into storage as a way to make things less cluttered however it is still a great example of the history of the area

An amazing museum! A self-guided trip through our Canadian past. A great assortment of memorabilia. Very reasonable fees.

Lots of love has gone into the displays and artifacts. The Algonquin room has two amazing birchbark canoes. And a couple of baskets dating back to the 1800's, as well as direct connections to the relations of the people that made the items. Pretry cool to talk Mary, a curator, about her connections to the local Algonquin. Definitely not a faceless institute. Worth a visit.
