Hiking, Biking, and sightseeing is what this place can offer you in awesome way...
Awesome place to visit nice view much to explore and spend some time its a beautiful and romantic place for the couples as well should visit this place in the lights of night you would be able to see the city in lights the view here is breath taking
Absolutely stunning view of the south including the downtown skyline! Great for in city hikes and exercise! Deer, coyotes, Gophers, pheasants, humans....
So fun to go to and take the grandchildren for a day of hiking and picnic! remember to bring your own bag to throw trash away because the trails are very long.
Hiked up to a hilltop overlooking the city around dusk. Silly time to be hiking through snow some might say but I met a deer on the ridge. 3-point buck patrolling something and not terribly skittish. Not even a 5-minute drive from the nearest strip-mall. An urban deer. Who knew?
Fantastic place to run your dogs (or just yourself), in the middle of the city. I would hope it never gets developed. It would be nice if the 'dog off leash' areas were in line with actual use, since the entire park is used (happily) by dog owners. And I hope the 'paving' of natural pathways stops, seems like a waste of effort and money - the deer, like the humans, rarely use the paths.
Sunrise Best Spot
Great place! Great view over the city of Calgary. Awesome place to watch the fireworks a bit far but cool to see!
Nose Hill Park is a natural park in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta which covers over 11 km2 (4.2 sq mi).[1] It is the fourth-largest urban park in Canada, and one of the largest urban parks in North America.[
Great place to bring your family and friends to if you're the type that loves adventure or just long walks with beautiful views of Mother nature. It's a very fulfilling experience.
Nice place for hiking but if people can please read the sign and let the dog free only in the unleash area it will be great. Not all of us are dog lovers and i am pretty sure there are people with dog - phobia who are avoiding this beautiful park. Please be mindful for others. The parks are for everyone. Thank you.
Nice urban park. Lots to explore, great for biking.
Gorgeous night view of full city of Calgary from top of hill! Right before sun rise.
A beautiful place in the city, to escape the city! Walk a little way into the interior and you will feel like you are miles away from Calgary. I walk here very often and thoroughly recommend it. Reasonable amount of parking at all the different lots. Beautiful views of both the mountains and the city skyline from the high points. Decent signage on the trails, with a good network of well maintained paved pathways. Only downside is it can get quite windy on in more exposed areas.
Always beautiful, but recommended destination with a guide. We went with Julie through Full Circle and she explained in detail which plants and grasses were native to the area, which were introduced (intentionally or not), and likely even by which people. Will never look at Nose Hill the same.
Lots of hills and trails. It'd be a great hike if you come here.
Do the steps here for exercise and the trails are awesome to explore, great views!
This park is so much bigger than expected. Walked around for 3 hours and only explored half the hill
Nice place for evening walk, enjoy sunset and see Calgary city lights
This is my puppy's absolute favorite place to walk! Lots of off leash areas, but also paved and maintained paths. A great way to "escape" the city
One of the most magnetic places on earth! Definitely beautiful and a must see in Calgary.
It's good course for trekking or exercise. Many calgarian take a walk with their family or couple. It's wonderful place. You can see lots of flower and animals.
Enjoyable trails right outside of Calgary.
Nice sweet spot for a mellow hike.
Me and my bestie went here to find the medicine wheel. We found it. Calgary is beautiful.
Great place to walk or run the dog off leash !
This is one of the parks in the city of Calgary that gives a good view of the entire Calgary landscape from the North West region, and has a very sizeable area for park goers, nature lovers and hikers who can't go out of the city. It's very good for mountain bikes and such workouts as mild hikes, and very safe. The only downside to me is the absence of a small lake or river body.
A great park. My kids love it. There's different areas to explore.
The park is beautiful at any time is the day. High up on the hill the views of the whole city are amazing! The parking lots are also very handy.
Beautiful park for hikes and bike rides
Large and fenced off leash park I give it 4 stars because they don't have enough trash cans around.
Huge park to walk, jog ride your bike, walk you dog or to just relax. A few deer herds to watch out for or observe. Lots of trees and bushes for birds and other small wildlife as well. It can be pretty busy in the parking lots but there is tons of room in the park to be on your own. Stop by here quite often just for the views of the city.
Nose Hill is great for a little bit of nature within the city. The only downside is parking can be scarce depending on the day and time.
Great open space with lots of paths for easy biking and hiking. Also great place to bring your dog for some off leash exercise.
Beautiful, sacred space within city limits.
To be honest it was a little bit underwhelming. The best thing about it is if you get far enough in or I guess up, then it actually feels like you aren't in the city anymore. Which is nice!! Quite peaceful. However, it's pretty boring other than the occasional nice views. If someone planted at least 1,000 more trees all over there, then it would be pretty cool!
huge park with lots of trails that take you all over the park. theres a pond, lots of trees, coyotes, deer, and other animals such as porcupines. this is a great place to take your dog for a walk, or just enjoy nature. you can even bike down most of the trails, and find little lean to’s and teepees in the trees. beautiful spot.
The best place to walk/run/bike, breathe fresh air and savour the nature! It is especially beautiful in the summer time but in the spring you can enjoy the first flowers, snowdrops! If you are lucky, you will see deers and coyotes. This park is dog-friendly and has an off-leash area. As far as I know, the park has some benches, but no tables as it is mainly for hiking, running and biking. That's why it is not overcrowded, and I like it.
I live so close and don’t enjoy this beautiful local park as much as I should. Amazing and peaceful park with more paths than anyone could ever get bored walking through.
Awesome huge big area of paths and land. So many dogs! Off-leash park. My only wish is that it didn't close at 11pm. I understand it is probably to keep wildlife safe, but as a night owl it would be nice to bring my dog after hours. Other than that this is my go to place to walk my dog. Feels like a gem for being in a city.
Good place for walkers. Gives an overview of the Calgary city, air planes can be seen taking off from the airport
Amazing park to bike, hike and fly kites!
Just finished a great walk/run before the storm hit!
Parking spaces are packed most of the time;can’t complaint, its all worth for that magnificent view. Definitely recommended.
Love this park for all times of the year! Trails for all abilities. You can spend hours here exploring different routes. Not much protection from the sun/ elements so dress accordingly. We usually go early mornings or late evening in summer.
A beautiful park of wide open prairie space. You can lose yourself here for hours on the trails. It's pet friendly.too, and you can let your dog off leash. I love this park.
There are mountain biking trails as well as a paved path if you want a smoother ride up. One of my favourite views of the city.
What a wonderful park to have in the middle of the city. Although, it doesn’t have many tall trees or rivers flowing in the middle. Nose hill park is a spectacular place to visit in the morning, evening or anytime of day. I really love coming to this so park with my wife at any time of day.
great place for mtb or hiking within the city
Best open off leash dog park in Calgary! The whole park isn't off leash but the park is HUGE so there is ton of space to play and walk with your dog.
I run free walking groups for anyone who wants to walk here on friday afternoons
Beautiful natural park with tons of trails to explore. Prairie and small groves to wander through with lots of local wildflowers and wildlife. Huge off leash areas for dogs but please keep them from harrassing deer and other wildlife. Stunning views of the city. Parking lots can be found around the perimeter. Take water and snacks as this park is huge. Garage bins and information plaques can be found throughout as well as benches. The Northwest parking lot has washrooms and easy access off Shaganappi Trail. Super popular place but because of the vast size, you can easily walk alone for quite a while if desired ❤️????
Beautiful lookout point all year round. Only thing is some people choose not to then off their headlights which can alter the experience.
There was hills that looked quite like some hills, but there was also some that looked like a nose, quite fitting for the name if you asked me. Great place and there were some nice dogs to.
gorgeous views, it’s a huge park with various wild animals and vegetation!! there’s also great paths which are perfect for mountain biking
Great place for nature lovers amd trail runners, 15 minute drive from the city centre. A stroll or a jog through the trails is always a great calorie burner. Views of the mountains are second to none. Watchout for coyotes on the trails. They camouflage well in the tall dense grass
I go here a few times a week and just love walking my dog in the off-leash areas. Even if it's a snowy day, it's breathtaking views of the city don't disappoint! I do find it is always a bit windy, even on warm days, you may need a jacket!
Amazing open park to go for walks, runs, and bike rides. Has an amazing view of downtown and sometimes you can even see the mountains. Great place to take the dog for a walk, but do note there can be wild animals/reptiles (deer, coyotes, small snakes, etc). Only downside is that there is little to no shade in most areas.
Great for family (dog) walks and hikes. The weather is always a little chillier and can get quite windy. Best to be prepared with weather appropriate clothing, good walking shoes and water/snacks if you’re planning to be out there for awhile. Great place to take scenic family pictures.
Lots of people really enjoy this park, but for me I find it a bit sparse and boring. You can get a good view of the downtown from here, however.
Nice park but feel cold and windy at winter times... should be lots of fun at summer with lots of greens.. people usually walk with their dogs here and lots of area for dogs to run explore and play..
Best landscapes in Calgary If you go to Nose hill park at Sunset time, It will be a fantasy time So good
Nice hikes to go up to the hill. On the hills, when the weather is nice, it gives over the meadow picturesque views. ❤
Very well kept. Nice trails, with signage. It's a shame some pet owners leave bags with their dogs residues on the ground
This beautiful park is an unique gem in the heart of the city. Wild and undeveloped, don't be surprised to come across local fauna as you explore. I love climbing the hill for the panoramic view from downtown across to the mountains. Great paths for walking, running and biking in any season.
Perfect location to walk your dog with an almost endless supply of trails to explore.
One of our favourite places for walking the dog. So many different paths to take! Only downside is the lack of garbage bins. Very pretty in the summer, even better in the fall with the trees changing colour. Best in the winter for dogs to romp around in the snow!
Great place for walks and cycling. Nice views of the Calgary skyline and mountains.
It's a lovely view...this was my first visit and I will surely visit again..
An amazing open space in a huge city. The first place to take a dog for exercise of the companion and self.
Nice walk and not a lot of elevation. There is an off leash are for dogs.
Great park! Awesome wild life and views.
My dog absolutely loves it here! Beautiful open space that's easy to social distance in. Snow is definitely above ankle depth off the main trail right now following the big storm but still a great walk!
It's a huge park.but the off leash areas are poorly marked.ypu kind of just have to walk with dogs off leash and hope. You're usually okay. But random sections are on leash. Also the terrain is pretty tame. So not super good for biking
Lots of open space and easy to distance from others during COVID (Although be careful at the park entrances as more people tend congregate there). Bike paths are great for trail riders.
Old sandstone quarry here is nice and quiet, medicine wheels are all over the place but poorly aligned with north and hardly ever grown in.
I rather enjoy this park for biking. Its gorgeous and full of trails (paved and non paved) to explore. There is a large off leash area for your dogs to roam and not feel fenced in (as there is no fence just freedom). You will see wildlife (coyotes and deer). We have been followed by the local cototes before, kinda scary. Please be mindful of your pets. I will say that nosehill is missing shade at all trails. So dont go on an extremely hot day. There is also no creeks/water areas for ur pooch. There was one pond area a few yrs back at the very top of 64th ave but its usually dry now. And there are no fountains for water so bring your own. Parking is abundant as there are many access roads throughout the whole park.
Wish I had such a beautiful place in my city. Away from traffic noise, people, hustle bustle of the city and just being with yourself. Enjoying the sunset and the wind in your hair. Truly magical experience, feels like you're far from all your problems and just happy being with yourself. Definitely recommended for picnic or just for walk or to lie down and enjoy the day.
It just looks like a scrubby prairie hill when you're at the bottom, but there are amazing montaine plants all over the hill and the view is really incredible! Gorgeous sunset view.
Picturesque views and a nice quiet place to relax. I come to Nose Hill to clear my mind and enjoy the scenery! Others bike and run through the park. Its busy at all times of the day from watching the city at night, to jogs in the early morning. Go to Nose Hill park and get a sense of nature from right in the middle of Calgary!
Great hiking and walking trails in one of Canada's largest urban parks.
Great place for a view of downtown at night
It's a really good place to come for walks, casual hikes, picnics, mountain biking, or photography! My last experience on Nose Hill was to take photos of the full Harvest Moon, and it was a sight to behold!
Big hills barely any trees...good for Dogs nice views.
Stunning place! Probably way more beautiful in the summer but still awesome.
Best of the scenic views
Nose Hill is easily one of the best things about living in the north end of the city. Depending on the entrance to the park you use it can be either a major cardio workout, or a really easy stroll. There are trails that go all over the top of the hill. Huge swathes of the hill are off leash dog friendly, which was just amazing as a dog owner. But there are also plenty of on leash area if dogs spook you. Also great on foot or bike. Don't forget your sunscreen and water! This park is a natural Prairie landscape, so water and shade are very sparse. But the scenes and views are just awesome. An amazing resource to find inside city limits.
Such a big awesome park with lots of trails and an off-leash area
Great park, you can spend the entire day walking in the park. it's the size of a small city. You can see the entire city View, downtown, Westside, Eastside, parking might be difficult to find during The weeknd. However it is definitely the place that you must see!!
Came down to Nose Hill for a bike ride and it was amazing. Always drove by but never went exploring. It's also a great place for a nice walk or run with paved pathways. For biking, there are some offroad paths. Great views of downtown and the city.
Nose hill is such a huge park full of pathways. Truly magical experience. Great place for a city wide view! Huge park with a lot of gorgeous forested areas. A great way to "escape" the city.
Love it here. Huge off leash area, just have good control of any pets
Amazing views of the city and mountains from multiple hiking trails all across a vast protected park. Come prepared for the weather as there is little shelter high on the hill.
The best place to have a walk..run..bike and pet friendly.. I love it!
Nose hill is such a huge park full of pathways. It's great to visit all seasons of the year. Great for dogs and kids of all ages. There are hills and valleys and some areas with educational signage. Take a break and experience being immersed in grasslands in the city. Plus, what a view!
Beautiful hill, had a fantastic time biking the trails. It has lots of great trails for hiking walking and biking.
It's beautiful park and great for tranning mountain bike to up hills
Good place to relax.
A great way to spend an evening in solitude and possibly see some canine buds running around! There are plenty of easy maintained trails and views as far as downtown and the Rockies. One of the best and least-crowded city parks I've been to, well worth a few hours to explore!
Amazing inner city walking, hiking and biking! Beware of dusk hours though, as we had 3 coyotes walk past us. No issues, but it makes you pause a bit!
Nose Hill is a great place in the city to "get away". I usually access Nose Hill from 14th Street and, from there, it's a bit of uphill to get to the top but a nice workout for me. Lots of great views of the city, particularly the downtown core, and nice breezes keep things coolish.
Great park for walks and chills and nice view of the city.
This place was packed! I can see why. There's a great view of the city...all the twinkling lights. Good view of the airport, you can watch the planes take off. The gravel road up/down needs some filling, but you can navigate it successfully, even with a lower vehicle. Be careful though...some vehicles could endure damage. I would definitely go again!
Huge park. Amazing vistas. Wide open, natural state foothill in the middle of a huge sprawling megalopolis. Mountain views, pathways, wildlife. Accessable to all. **Missing one key element... a Hollywood bowl style outdoor concert venue—hillside seats facing southwest, stage nestled below, with city + mountain backdrop, similar concept to THE GORGE in Washington state. Wow! Calgary would instantly have the #1 outdoor concert venue in Canada.
Great place to hike, walk dogs and bike too.
Massive outdoor park. The dog loves it every time. Some paths can be a little narrow and treacherous in the winter, so be careful!
Nice place to unwind and explore the plateau after getting some exercise to the top. The ridges, trees and ponds are nice, great to fly a kite and overlook the city. Once on top the sound of traffic almost disappears when you walk further in, and it's like you're suddenly not in the city anymore. Good to spend a couple hours. It's a large place, easy to get lost ????
Nose hill park is a beautiful place to go for a walk. Its on a cliff so you can see the whole city of Calgary and you can spot the Rockies far away on a clear day. May spot wildlife such as deer occasionally.
A beautiful place to go for a casual walk in nature with stunning city, mountain and prarie views. The best place to take sunset photos and photos of the moon. Also great for dog walking and saw some people tobogganing today. Great all year round! Good parking too.
Very nice park, kids enjoyed hiking and picnic here.
A great place for walking and exercise.
Our dogs' favourite offleash park. Plenty of trees and changes in elevation. Our favourite thing about this offleash area is that there are so many different paths that it's a new walk every day. Great access from Shaganappi trail with excellent parking.
Great for off leash dog walks, running and biking. Not a lot of trees, and can be really windy - but it's amazing a large this large and completely natural - exists in the city. Thank you Calgary and the province of Alberta for maintaining spaces like this.
I like to hike and you can find a variety of wildlife and plant life that the prairies offer without the need for a long drive. It provides stunning views of the city of Calgary as well as a panoramic view of the terrain east as well as south. Awesome place to have an outdoor lunch with a loved one.
Great place to watch the sunset
Decent place for a walk and view of the city at sunset or late evening.
Amazing city veiws. A bit windy at times but well worth it. Great trail network for running and mountain biking.
Nose Hill park is a great place to go for whatever reason. Whether you want to take your dog for a walk, take your date, go for a bike ride, it's always a good time. Lots of great trails to use and an easy way to escape the city without going to national parks like Banff.
Nose Hill Park is wonderful tranquil escape from every day stresses, right in my backyard in the NW. My favorite jogging path before work.
Beautiful green space in the middle of the city. Great for families, four legged loved ones and anyone and everyone who wants to get out into the open space but not drive all the way out of the city. There's great options for paved or single track biking. Picture taken from To The Lake Green Trail.
We're lucky to have such a phenomenal park in the middle of our city
If you're looking for a nice walk, run or bike ride this hill has a bunch of different paths that intersect. A great place to take your dog as well but if you have a small dog be cautious of coyotes, especially when off the paved path and on the dirt path.
Love this park! I enjoy biking it and the downhill aspect of the trails. Also love to take my kids here on walks. Often see deer and other wildlife as well as spectacular city views and the mountains on clear days.
Love this place to go with family and dog. We are still exploring all secrets of this natural beauty
Always a pleasure coming here. Obviously, it can get a bit windy at times, but there are plenty of areas between the hills that are warm with less wind. My 3-year-old loves hiking here and going for nature walks. I love that there is hardly ever any garbage on the ground. It is a well kept park!
The park offers a great escape from the city with it's well maintained pathways.
Great place to chill for a view with hookah
A place where you will enjoy the nature. Be with your friends, family or with your dog. 4 star because I just wish some dog owner will be responsible for picking up their dog po*p.
You will be hard pressed to find a better combination great walking paths, natural beauty, and stunning views
Beautiful wide park with nice views and variety of wildlife
It is hands down the best place to walk that is with-in city limits. It always quiet and the paths are cleaned daily. Also the people that way their are friendly and can help you if you get lost like me. The park has sic off road paths if you are looking for excitement.
Not as wooded as other parks but definitely adventurous. Lots of steep hills. We never found the restrooms. It took us an hour to walk one section. My 8 year tired out.
Best park in NW Calgary! All the nature makes you almost forget you're in a city. Amazing views of the mountains and a real treat for all dog owners.
A wonderful way to escape the city with out leaving it. You can bike and hike and take your pet on leash. It goes for miles and has bathrooms in some of the parking lots. Although the city lights are beautiful at night I don't recommend going alone at night. Please use your bell on your bike and pick up after your dog to keep the park clean. Some times you can see deer and porcupine.
Beautiful place to walk and take in a view of downtown Calgary and the Rocky mountains off in the distance.
Hillock with great view of the city, nice short trek from Brentwood area, good place for a picnic or just a walk too
Huge green space with many hills. People with young children or pets please keep an eye for any coyotes. Some deer can be seen here. Nice views of Calgary from the top
It was beautiful, and a great place to walk. There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy, and you can get awesome views of the city around you!
I was told that this is a beautiful natural park, but there is not much trees. Trailes are really good for easy and light hiking, however it is hot under the sun or too cold and windy. Lots of places for off leash dogs and parking spots in different locations of the park. Wild life like deers and coyotes seems interesting but a little dangerous. Be careful.
Large park, multiple parking lots, large off leash dog areas. The park is not fenced in but there is so much space here for your dog to safely run. Pretty views of the city and the mountains.
Great trails for dog walking and bikes. Must be weary of porcupines in trees and coyotes during mating season
Great park. Love all the amazing scenery, and the skyline view facing the city.It makes a great environment for photographers to share their work. But I did dislike the facts that there was urine in some of the connecting tunnels which is really gross, and potholes which impose a risk with your leg. Please improve on this next visit
Best park in Calgary for walk, run, and bike. There are many trails to take. I loved seeing some wildlife here.
Great scenery and different paths depending on the time you have available and/or difficulty of walk you wish to experience. There are numerous walking and bike trails. The parking lot off John Laurie boulevard gets quite busy so I would advise avoiding peak times throughout the nicer days as you may struggle to find parking.
Great for mountain bike adventures, with lots of walking paths, plus great views of the city. My dog especially enjoys running wild through the long grass.
Nose Hill Park is a beautiful oasis of nature in the heart of the city. Endless walking/biking trails and off leash dog areas.
Great place for a walk with lots of trails and parking locations!
I was scouting some places to do some work as I needed to review and test a bike. I started in downtown calgary and got riding. I followed some cycling routes and found this park!! It's huge. And has so much green space right in the city! The trails are great and have a mix of paved, gravel and off road so there is a little bit for everyone. A ton of active people out here and a lot of dogs havining a great time. I really love this city.
Great natural prairie park that is huge for being within the city and tons of crisscrossing pathways, some paved and some dirt/gravel. Often see deer and coyotes as well. Some great views of the Rockies from the northwest end of the park.
Nose Hill Park is a great place to do some urban hiking, trail running, or just walking your dogs. Beautiful view of downtown, or check out planes taking off and landing at Calgary Airport.
Spent Easter morning watching the sunrise with some wonderfully kind people from Good Shepherd Moravian Church down the road. It was a lovely morning to celebrate the day.
Great place to see the prospective view of Calgary city and morning/evening walk.
Good place to have a short walk. Nice view of the city.
The landscape is good, not awesome but it's worth visiting it. I was here on summer and the vegetation seemed to be a little dry. Free parking lots and good place to walk your dogs.
Beautiful scenery and always well taken care of. If you like a good walk with an awesome view of the mountains on a clear day this is the perfect place to go. Lovely place in Calgary.
Beautiful park! Great place to walk the dog!
It is a massive park with a lot of hiking and walking trail or path. I went there at dawn and seeing sunset in the park was awesome. I really recommend this park for hiking. Either walking around the hill's perimeter or going to the top, both of them have awesome view.
Beautiful grasslands with lots of areas to explore, run, ride bikes and walk dogs
The place for me. Sunsets look beautiful from this spot. Highly recommended ????
This park is a very large Park and fairly centrally-located as many neighborhoods have grown up around it. There have been some issues with coyotes snatching small pets away from their owners, so be careful if you're taking small animals or children. This has the potential to be an absolutely gorgeous Park and all they need to do is plant trees on it. It is fairly bare without.
Nice place to take the dog for a walk. I am sure it would be great for trail running or mountain biking as well. Too bad there are still people out there who don't clean up after their dogs.
Big park with lots of trails. Tough going at -15°
Huge park with plenty of hills to climb. Prairies look with occasional trees. Spectacular city view.
Nose Hill Park is very large and some might get the idea that it's just a bunch of grass on a hill. That's partially intentional. The city does a good job of preserving the native prairie and as a result there's a ton of secrets to discover. Each time I go out with my family we leave with lots of good pictures and very sore legs from all the walking.
The trails were beautiful and well maintained. Everyone was so friendly along the way. The incline was a bit intense but totally doable for family and kids.
The entrance off 14th gets you the view of the city and the medicine wheel made with rocks. If you enter off Shaganappi, you can walk a huge hilly loop with your pups! There are many trails to explore.
Amazing place to walk, relax, ride bicycle and connect with nature.
Good Place in the middle of city to take your kids for little bit of nature. They enjoyed exploring the forest, picking cherry etc.
It's so beautiful! ! Wide open space with a magnificent view of the Rocky Mountains and of downtown Calgary. A very special place located in North West Calgary. The amazing variety of grasses all year long offer a beautiful palette of earth tones and textures. Every time I walk up there I am awe struck! ! This neighbourhood is so fortunate.
Nose Hill Park is an expansive system of trails that is a wonderful getaway from the city. There's a good chance for some light wildlife viewing as well. Take your bike, take your dogs, and you can literally spend hours exploring and wandering in this peaceful place. Make sure to bring plenty of water, particularly on hot days. Hopefully you will run into some of the medicine wheels scattered around of various sizes, the main one having a lovely view of the city.
Seriously a wonderful place to watch the sun rise and set!
Amazing place for family hiking. Great place for bicycling. Spend some good quality family time
Lovely place to go for a stroll, take the dogs for a walk, have a picnic, or just take some pictures. It's a great view of the city and amazing during sunset. The only thing I'd say is take a look at the map when first entering so you can exit the same way you came in otherwise you'll find yourself at the complete other end of the park at a different entrance.
A huge area to explore, bike and walk around. One of the cleanest parks in the city. Good for picnics in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. Easily accessible by either car or foot.
Great views of Calgary, lots of space for dogs, bikes, and people. Not a lot of places to sit, eat, nor many public washrooms
Lots of open space and beautiful views! Be sure to wear your hiking shoes if you’re going up the hills. We really enjoyed our walk here and it’s a nice escape from the city
Wide open expanse of grassland with numerous trails. Much of it is off leash so it's a great place to run off some dog energy. A few of the trails are paved but most are gravel or dirt (though the city is currently doing some upgrades). Not many benches.
A different kind of park that may first appear like just a bald-ass hill, but it rewards patient & observant visitors with some spectacular prairie grasses & seasonal variations. Also great for dogs, bikes, & photographers.
Lovely! I go there frequently Last time was to watch the sunrise ????
This is not what you find anywhere else. It's uncommon to come a cross 11 squremiles at your fun disposal. Go where you want and do whatever you want in a wilderness in the heart of a mega city!!!. In my opinion, it's the best urban planning policy in the world.
Great place to hike! Wonderful views of the city and the mountains!!!
Look hard enough and you'll see the nostrils. Just up from those, glasses marks can be found. We don't know when the glasses were removed, but we fear the day when they return.
Amazing place, gone on plenty of walks in the area. The perfect time to go if you want to see some wildlife is an hour to and hour and a half before sunset. Went around that time several weeks ago and seemed to be hundreds of ravens, and plenty of deer. Also if you go exploring in the trees off the heavily trafficked paths, you might find some neat things like the old abandoned car from the 30s, towards the south side of the park.
A huge park in the middle of the city. There are several entrances that can be good for different purposes. Can walk, hike and cycle too.
Largest urban park in North America. It's a natural park, so no playgrounds or attractions. Bike and walking paths and lots of prairie grass and small trees. If you make it to the top of the hill, great views of the city.
There is lots to do and see up on this enormous inner city park. One of the biggest in the world. The look out spot became VERY popular this summer during covid times and now it is renowned, paved and a real place to go anytime. At night it provides a beautiful view of the city! So many ppl don't even know about this spot in this city
So beautiful for easy access walks or more vigorous hikes! Great fun for all ages!
One of my favorite lookouts in Calgary. Soooo many sights to explore!
Great park to let dogs run off leash, however there are a lot of bikers.
Awesome nature walk, get to see various flowers, birds ???? . Very easy hiking can go with kids .
It is such a treat to have this natural area in our city. At times, you can imagine that you are in a much more remote location while hiking, cycling, or walking through this prairie landscape. Expect to see a variety of birds, deer, and the occasional coyote. Parsnip the porcupine can be seen ambling through the pathways on a quiet evening around dusk. There are a variety of parking options available - from the end of the Calgary Winter Club parking, just off Shaganappi next to Edgemont (these first two also have simple washroom facilities), and a few others along 14th Street as you are heading north from John Laurie Boulevard. Each entrance has a unique view and variety of pathways to experience; try different entrances as it is a large enough area that you’re not likely to be able to cross it by walking unless you have a good amount of time to spare. While visiting, ensure that you stick to the marked pathways so that all Calgarians might enjoy Nose Hill in its most natural state.
I take my dog here all the time. the off leach parts are fantastic and we are able to walk 5-10km on the park paths. Great for the furry friend's exercise!
Great park for a long walk within the city limits. We have lived close to this park for over 20 years and never had the desire to go for a hike here. It looked so wide open to us and we don't have dogs. We parked at Berkley parking lot which is off 14 st near the NE corner of the park and headed up the asphalt paved path. It was a steady climb for the first 15-20 minutes and on this August day it was about 22 degrees by 10am. we passed two benches both offering limited but nice views of the valley below and I was amazed at how different the scenery was from what I had envisioned. you could see animal tracks and sleeping areas everywhere. Soon we saw a sign on our right indicating dog off leash area to the North. we walked about another 10 minutes to the West and I estimate we were about half way to Shaganappi trail. We decided to take a sharp 145 degree right hand turn onto an old, looked like quad track and make our way back on a dirt trail. This was a nice change from walking on hard asphalt and it was near the top of the hill. Our total trip was only 75 minutes but we were happy to be back. We had no encounters with dogs on the off leash area but one unfortunate thing was a fresh poop on the path, luckily we were alerted by the flies so we didn't step in it. I will carry a poop bag next time just in case.
One of the good place to visit in Calgary. As it’s on uphill and you can see almost the whole Calgary from the top point. Awesome view for clicks.
A little crowded but nice
Beautiful place, been doing my cardio there now for almost 2months. Liking it more and more ❤
Beautiful views from the parking lot though not a ton of spaces at the top. Parking mostly along the road up which has LOTS of big potholes.
This is a very beautiful and large park. It has a wonderful energy.
If you like grass on rolling hills you'll love Nose Hill park. If you hate dogs you'll probably hate it here as people like to let their dogs run free here and pay zero attention to them. That also means you'll always want to pay attention to where you're stepping as a significant portion of the dog owning population does a very poor job of cleaning up after their K9 friends. The park is crisscrossed with trails ranging from single track up to paths that vehicles could drive two abreast on. There are scattered groves that offer some variety from the hills of grass. On a nice day it's a great place to go for a walk or run.
Great place to walk dogs and mountain bike. Lots of parking surrounding this massive green space. Peruse at your leisure but beware of fast travelling cyclists and doggies!
Nice spot to catch Aurora within town (when active).
Who needs to go hiking miles and miles away from the city when this large hill is accessible to cycling, walking, hiking, and it has so many paths that one can combine them and explore for days and days and still find new ones.
Good view for the city
I love to walk over here. Very great. And fun and relaxing. The reason why i gave it a 4 is because of the insects. I really have no idea what this insect i got bitten by. It's a red looking ant. Big. Like a fingertip???? and it bir me on the back. I do love the place a lot.
Really nice place to go for a walk, truly representative of the prairies landscape. Trails on every direction and very safe. There is a parking lot, with limited spots, but I have never had a problem finding one. Off leash park, so bring the pupper!
There are a ton of pathways through Nose Hill Park that you can go multiple times and look at different views. The park is not too crowded but parking can be limited if you go during a popular time. There is some elevation so it will work your legs in some sections. On a nice sunny day, Nose Hill park is very enjoyable for a walk, or catch a sunset.
A great in city place to get away for a couple hours for photography, dog walking or to just be out in nature. Unfortunately some people put to much faith in there dogs recall and if you have an anxious on leash dog, you may run into a few unpleasant encounters.
Always a great view of calgary but Not much to do. The park is just very open with no trees surrounding it. Very limited parking space. It's popular because it's at the heart of Calgary.
Decent view of the city and a huge dog park. Trails aren't difficult and lots of access from the various parking lots. Good spot for a walk with the dog, but not a good spot for a hike.
Ideal place to go for long walks , lots of parking and centrally located in the North West .
Magical gem of grassland in Calgary. Majestic views of sunsets, sunrises and the Rocky Mountains. Deer, coyotes, porcupines, endless grass and wildflowers.
I love going to this park for long walks, the hills make it more of a vigorous walk which is amazing. If you need to work on your cardio, then you definitely need to come here and just walk around for an afternoon. Plus there is an amazing view of the city at some points.
This park is amazing and huge. We were a group of 5 people and at a point we had hiked so much, that we thought we were lost and with the storm picking up the pace, we started rushing towards the university. It's a beautiful place and a place one can have a nice picnic over if the weather's nice. One can also get a good glimpse of downtown atop the hills.
I like it here, it's nice
Nose hill park is great--amazing even! My friends and I would often come around 0400 and wait till sunrise and let me tell you that the view is just phenomenal. It overlooks all of downtown and you can just see how small everything is, to the point that you feel small yourself and nothing really matters in the end. I definitely recommend this place if you're out tryna catch the sun with all its morning glory!!!
Very nice place to park the car in the parking lot which is on top of a hill. Awesome view of downtown and rest of city at night.
Love biking the trails here. I just hope they don’t try to reclaim the single track like they tried to do a fews ago. Were the trail users even consulted? And the new gravel trails they built aren’t holding up very well - they are steep and starting to wash out already. Best to stick the single track Wild Rose route and do a loop of the whole park!
Good place for a walk and a view, just watch where you step as many dog walkers do not clean up after their dogs.
Best place for a run, biking and/or dog walking. This park is indeed an asset for all the residents in NW, at least the ones in proximity of the park. Great for some "alone time" to watch at the sprawling extent of the city from a semi-birds eye view point. Makes some great postcard pictures for all seasons. Hands down my favorite place. (A star less, for some instances of littering and the lethargy of the park authorities in reinforcing strict fines etc for people who do not pick up after their dogs or continue to pollute the park with leftovers from their picnics)
Nice big park. We didn't see as many animals as we were hoping to. Could do with more benches.
Came for a walk in October. Beautiful views of the city.
Great views of the city and the mountains to the west. It was my first time there and before, I didn't understand what people meant by calling it empty. Having been there, I can now appreciate the vastness of it. Great place to get away from the city, bring your dog (mind the coyotes) or take your bicycle offroad.
Nice natural wildlife park. With nice walking or biking trails for the family. Be careful where you walk on the grass as some dog owners do not pick after their dog has pooped on the grass. Not only is this unhealthy, but gross!most dog owners do look after their dogs though. Deers can sometimes be seen throughout this huge park!
Nose hill is spectacular! Great for a run, walk , sunset and more.
The best place to take my dogs for a breath of fresh air without having to leave the city.
Good hike for pets, very scenic views
Great place for a picnic, watch fireworks or a romantic evening overlooking the city as well as mountain views. You can hear coyotes yipping and howling at night. Also good for hill runs, cross-country skiing & snowshoeing. In the winter you might be lucky enough to to see people kitesurfing on skis. *check out the valleys. I’ve come across fox’s, deer and even a moose.
Natural Clean Area with a wonderful wiew of Calgary. Sunny winter day today. Nice for a long walk.
Nice and quiet. Lots of trails.
This is my first time to nose Hill Park after living in the Calgary area for 32 years. Definitely very nice with a lot of trails and a lot of open spaces. you can tell why people enjoy the park because it seems like there's an endless system of trails to explore. I can't wait to come here in the summer with my son whether I'm mountain bikes to spend some more time exploring and taking in the beautiful views of the city.
Surveyed using GPS on one of the ASCM in nosehill park for the Capstone project to built a improve bike path that wveryone can use, unlike the other paths that can only be use by fancy bike and hard type of path
Big park right inside the city. Parking lots can be full.
Great place for hiking and getting a break from busy life. Best for Pets and mental peace
This park is a great walk. Warning is that the trails can be long so dress appropriately, bring water and use the bathroom first. Last few times I went the public bathrooms were locked up! Lots of trails for biking, hiking, walking and dog running. The hills are great for kite flying too! Depending where you live there are many entrances and parking areas. No fire pits or smoking allowed! Bring a camera because there is plenty of wild life if you are lucky enough to see it.
This is one of the most amazing Parks I've ever seen. You feel like you're walking into a movie. The Wizard of Oz or something. We got lost over 7 km. Bring extra battery for your phone. This is absolutely amazing for dogs. You can't find this in any city in BC I don't think because land is so expensive! Bravo to Alberta! Save your parks!
Always a good place to take a walk and clear the head. Or just to go for a ride. There is also a dog park or off leash area. Just be careful as the owners walk the entire park with the dogs off leash. I had several instance on May 24th where the dogs rushed after my kids. It wasnt funny. So be on the look out. And owners please remember that others use the park who are not dog lovers and even scared of them. So keep dogs on lease when outside the off leash space.
Favorite urban park..In Canada 3rd largest city park. Home of white tail deers, coyotes and porcupines and if you lucky you can spoot gold finches and long horn owl. Has lookout, bike route and because it's large area lots of off leash zones for dog owners. Connected to different quadrant in the city so has many parking lot. Some parking area include washrooms. Originally it is prairie land with some native grass and flowers but the park is changing so you will found some aspen trees, what is blessing on the hot days. No river access but has some storm ponds on the park.
This is one of the most amazing parks in the city with spectacular views on all sides if you can handle the hike. Amazing for cyclists and nature goers. If you have friends visiting the city for the 1st time take them here so they can really see the city skyline from up high.
Too much good about having a space like this In a city, awesome park.
Wonderful place to walk and hike. Recommended for dog walks anytime
My favorite place to go walking! Gorgeous views of the mountains, city etc.
First time here with my puppy ???? What a great experience. I will be back often. Friendly people in the park too. Great views of the city lots to walk and and experience while being in the city.
Amazing park to view a sunset, local wildlife, or get lost amongst the trees (sometimes literally)! This place is huge and pet-friendly, and so convenient to get to with multiple parking areas around the perimeter. An awesome spot for a walk without having to leave the city.
Lovely place for a walk and some good scenery
Great place to take my dog while in the city. We usually always find other dogs for him to run with. The parking lot gets a bit muddy in the spring, but that's to be expected.
Great place to take the dogs for a walk or just on your own or with friends. My only grievance is some people don't pick after their dog. If you stay in the pathways, you're fine.
If you feel tired, bored, sad or want to do little hiking, Nosehill is best for that. The view of city from nosehill in night is fabulous.
It was nice walking with my puppy Maya
Beautiful place to walk in the autumn light.
Lots of room to explore, and lots of off leash area for your favourite fluffy friends! The Coyotes seem to be getting pretty bad though, especially later in the evening, so use caution when walking your dogs. My dog has been stalked twice by them, but fortunately no injuries.
This is a beautiful park perfect for a relaxing walk, it is very big and it has several parking lots on different points around the park. It is also ideal for biking due to the steep hills all over the park, there are some picnic tables (just a few) on Summer time bug spray is a must.
The parking lot alongside shaganappi Trail is the best place to start for those with Mobility challenges that use Scooters or wheelchairs. There are a couple of paved trails that start from this point. There are a few Maps scattered around the park that show your current position, but none of the trails have names or signs so it can be a little uncertain Where You Are if you are not at a sign. Watch out for dog owners as many of them disrespect the boundaries of the off-leash area.
Well, I don’t want to sound judgmental, but I’m from Vancouver and this view is pretty dull until you get to the top (1200m) and look at Downtown Calgary. Perfect for bikers, dogs, family activities. Many spots to park your vehicle.
It's the best place for dogs to bound freely for seemingly miles on countless paths winding throughout this massive park. There are coyote sightings so keep your small dogs close.
Great way to explore close to home! My kids and pup love it here! Watch for the coyotes especially around small dogs. Overall it's my families favorite place for a nature adventire in the city!
Amazing trails everywhere! In the winter the get a little slippery. Best parking areas are on the NW side(great views and offleash), North side (stairs), south side(stairs and paths behind the curling club) and two on the East side off of 14th to see the city and airport.
Peaceful , mind blowing place to visit with your kids... love this place...
Local destination, lots of convenient parking. Good views North, South, East & West. Downside is that a few dog owners not picking up after their dogs, spending too much time looking at their phone & not watching their dogs
Wonderful place to have look of Calgary from one place. Beautiful walk and if you lucky you will see deers around. You can unleash yours dogs here, allowed to do so.
Very happy to live in a city with such massive parks to visit. You can definitely get lost in here, so pay attention.
Nose Hill, as all Calgarians know, is a great place for walks, watch the sun setting over the mountains and going for long walks. Lots of dogs off leash but that is fine. The paths are both gravel and paved. Excellent spot.
Nose hill is amazing for off leash dog walking. Even if parking lots are full its so big that its not crowded.
Always a interesting walk from old cars to animals you gotta put the work in though it's a hill afterall
Inside city of Calgary and off leash areas with tons of paths
This is a good place to walk your dog but I wish there were more maintained pathways to use. This is a big space that it would be nice if it were accessible to all people. They had signs last year about letting nature reclaim it, but I feel the city just doesn't want to spend money to maintain its green spaces. I come from Red Deer that has amazingly maintained parks, trails and green spaces.
One of the best parks in Calgary, biking, running, walking and lots of off leash areas for your dogs.
As many people have already noted, this park is impeccable for its amazing views of Calgary. Aside from that, it is incredibly spacious and open. Be sure to take note of the map before departing as the various trails can make it very easy to get lost. The park is also amazing for its abundant amount of wildflowers and wildlife. You can't escape the smell of flowers and buzzing of honey bees ????
Stormy day outside...dogs running around off lease and owners don't care if thier dog jumps up on you.....be prepared to push dogs away
As a long-time resident of Calgary, I frequent Nose Hill Park on average twice a week, at least during spring, summer and fall. It's a wonderful place to stroll/walk/hike/run/bike. Great views from the top of the hill, and many opportunities for a shutterbug. Easily accessible with several parking lots on the perimeter of the park, as well as a few pathways from the nearby communities. A good mix of paved pathways, gravel, and trails cater to all abilities. As mentioned by others, most of the park is off-leash so Rover will have a great time. Deer are a fairly common site, less so are the coyotes. Hawks can routinely be seen circling overhead in search of prairie dogs or field mice. Pack a wind breaker as it can get quite breezy.
A huge open parkland area. Very accessable & a great place to walk. Especially good for dog walkers. Great view of the mountains. Multiple parking areas.
A very nice and vast park in the middle of Calgary. Easy to walk around as the park is relatively flat. Plenty of space and not a lot of traffic. Definitely a great tourist spot and I would rate it on par with Vancouver's Stanley Park.
Great place to hike, ride your bike, run, walk your dog. I mean its a hill guys. Great view of the city but i mean its a hill
Beautiful large park inside the city. Dog friendly, lots of places for off leash. Feels Ike you're not even inside the city.
Muddy and slippery at the moment but still lots of fun. Met a really nice lady and her dog there today. That's what having pets is all about. Sharing the outdoors and our furry friends
Excellent hills for the avid athlete or the beginner you may come across some wildlife make sure you let your dog off the leash designated areas shame on the people who believe green areas are public dumpsters pick up your trash and throw it in the bins available across the entire park.
Beautiful spot. Best off-leash dog park area around. Perfectly represents the foothills of the prairies. Amazing views of Calgary. Give it a chance some time.
Located close to the city center. Nosehill parc is a nature gateway in the city. Climb the hill to evade the city or just to get your fitness up.
One of the best walking path in Calgary . It so beautiful in all four seasons.
A true gem in the middle of Calgary. Plenty of hiking and cycling trails. All kinds of different trails in terms of difficulty, gradients and length. A few ponds, diverse vegetation and some wooded areas. It's never boring. You might even see some interesting wildlife as well.
Rarely Opened area in the city, ideal place to run your dogs.
Great view but more can be done to the park.
Beautiful off leash park for dogs. Watch out for wildlife!
A wild City Park, few visitors. Many trails to choose. Great for cycling.
Very awesome view.of the city. Blue sky for a nice mountain view.
I've walked this park numerous times and I've yet to find all of the trails. One of the reasons why this park is so popular is its accessibility. Yes, there are parking provided all over the edges of the park, but there are some tunnels and crosswalk able to enter the park without needing to drive there first (currently using the tunnel connecting the park to the Sandstone community). Nose Hill Park has numerous trails, both paved and gravel which is great for those of varying accessibility. One can take a nice and gradual uphill stroll or try running up one of the steeper gravel trails. Either way, it's a great way to get outside while being responsible during these times.
This is one of my favourite parks in Calgary - it's a treasure trove of fascinating areas to explore, wildflowers, and wildlife. There are numerous trails that criss-cross this vast space. Some are nicely engineered to be smooth for easy walking with a stroller.
Gorgeous view of the city here, my dog loved the open space to run around. Friendly people and other off leash pets for my dog to make friends with. Parking lot was very full but lots of other options of parking on the side! Highly recommend this spot.
Amazing place for weekend walks. This park can be seen from space !!
Love walking here with our dog. So many trails. We see wildlife almost every time we walk here. Gave it a four because there are almost no garbage bins. I think more people would clean up after their dogs if there were more bins.
A vast park in the heart of Calgary. I loved coming here and was only able to cover part of it in my visit. You can start in different places and get a whole different experience each time. I love the wildflowers and wildlife - I had a deer walk right past me during my most recent visit! Also lots of great educational signs along the trails.
Amazing place to get away from the city, while still being in the middle of the city. It is not hard finding some spots where you definitely feel like the only person around.
This my favourite park to visit during summer and autumn - the gigantic space of nature provides an escape from the city that is easily accessible to everyone living in the north side of the city. Despite it clearly having the landscape of a prairie, it has beautiful seasonal colours during summer and autumn so I would say those are the two best seasons to visit the park. The park is completely natural and the added features to make it more accessible to visitors aren't too intrusive; therefore, depending on how lucky you are, you may see some cool animals (deers, porcupines, coyotes, etc.). They also added a couple park benches in the shaded areas near the northwest entrance of the park (on Shagnappi trail) so it's a great place to go for picnics with food that don't need to be cooked. One downside that I can't blame the park for is that the visitors get lazy and just throw the bags with their pets' feces along the pathways. The pathways near the entrances are particularly bad when it comes to litters people left behind. Those people should be fined heavily or have their pets taken away.
Beautiful reserve in the city. Lots of paved and non-paved paths. Love walking my dogs here.
Looking into the city relaxing and watching the coyotes was beautiful.
It is amazing park to have inside the city, you can walk, hike, raid the bike there. It's a lot of animals, deer, foxes and coyotes. Beautiful place, the best park in the city!
A great place to get out of the city while still being in the city. Short, medium, and long walks available, and it's dog-friendly too.
Nice place for the morning/evening walk.
No mountain views today ????????. Still a beautiful place for a walk.
Nice and clean park. Good for small hike...
Nice place to go for a run, or for a walk with your dog. It is mostly a meadow, but offers some wilderness, as well as a vast grassland which reflects the real nature outside of urban cities. You may also get to see some wild animals, as this place contains deers, cougars and has said to have hawks spotting, and many more. I personally got to witness a deer running out in the open during a walk. It is a good place to relax and enjoy some soliditary time.
One of the loveliest places in our city. It's what Central Park in NYC should have been.
Tons of trails to explore ranging from beginners to advanced. Beautiful lookouts and views of Calgary. There are a few forested areas worth exploring with kids too with makeshift shelters made from branches.
Good for pet owners...nice park for long relaxing walk
Best view of the city and recent upgrades made by the city makes it a better experience with more parking and improved access roads.
Awesome bike paths and views all over the park. Great for early morning rides. Good trails throughout the park for walking or biking. Lots of hills so it's a good workout. You can even pick Saskatoon berries in August in the park. Often times you will see wildlife such as deer and even porcupine. The views from the top are outstanding. You can see all over the city. Good place to walk your dog and meet other dog walkers. Never too crowded because It is a huge park with multiple entrances and parking lots.
Terrific place inside a city with tremendous views of the Calgary city skyline and mountains.
Dear Nose Hill, How I love you.....so many trails, right in the heart of the city. Ice never been disappointed to live in walking distance of this beautiful landmark.
A great place to escape from the noise of the city, with great views. It will be awesome when the forest fire smoke clears and the vistas return. Worth a visit!!
Loved it here. Nice place to go biking
Beautiful park! Large area great for adventures
Perfect location to sit aside and watch the amazing downtown view. Also a good place to take your morning walk.
Super cute place to go at night. You get a great view of the city and it’s generally pretty quiet.
Nice natural area, great views, many pathways. Something to keep in mind is their are no garbage cans anywhere in the interior of the park. Whatever you take in please try to take out with you. The parking areas have garbage and washrooms. Vehicle break and enters seem common (Always fresh glass in the parking lots...) so take your valuables with you or at the very least put them out of site.
Great place to take your dog ???? There's no garbage cans once you get past the parking lot so just be ready for that. Lots of hills and paths to choose from, all in all its a great place to let your dog run around and get some exercise
Good place to get away from the city in the city. Nice views
It's a hike to the top but when you've got a view of Calgary on one side and the Rockies on the other who cares about a little bit of a climb?
A beautiful view of the city from nosehill park.
Great fall day! Family time!
Amazing how many hills it has. Very great place for relaxation. Cardio. Beautiful. Amazing view of downtown Calgary. ❤
What a neat park. Beautifully marked trails. Bike trails as well. Interesting diversity of plants, flowers and trees. Mini forests scattered throughout. I wandered through a mini birch forest! Magical. Great views of downtown Calgary, even through the haze of forest fires.
Beware of the coyotes and small dogs..very clean beautiful view of Calgary
Excellent place and walk and run. Great trails. Feels like a million miles from the city, and it's not!
It is a beautiful park with lots of places to explore. Great for off leash areas
One of favourite places in Calgary. You can walk here for hours (if you want). The best park to get out of any stress and perfect to relax.
This is a great place to go for a walk. The trails are nice and the views are awesome. Definitely a good workout.
Beautiful hike. Good view on the airport and downtown. You can just sit and see the planes take off. There is few decorative rocks which gives the place nice vibe. Very few people on the weekdays. So you can have your solitude. You can bike everywhere. There are some more advanced paths with some rocks and holes for mountain bikers. A bit scary in my opinion haha. Go on a sunny clear day and bring your sunscreen !
Absolutely beautiful park with fantastic views. One of the best things to do, in my opinion, is once the sun has set to go to the parking lot on nose hill closest to the winter club. There you will be able to see the many shimmering lights of Calgary, along with a perfect view of downtown. Especially popular right before a new year for the full view of the fireworks.
Great place to walk and cycle. Off leash dog area is great. Paved paths and gravel paths to various areas.
Get outside! Control your dogs, respect the wildlife and crisscross the hill for hours.
I enjoy walking here with family and friends. Deer sightings are a treat for the kids too!
Wonderful, huge off-leash area with good cycling paths and LOTS to explore. There are no ponds or streams anywhere within the park and shaded areas can be few and far between, so make sure to bring water for your dog if you plan on spending a lot of time at the park.
I saw the first sunrise in 2021 here. Perfect place for seeing sunrise and snowshoeing.
Our dog's favorite place to run. You do need to keep an eye out for coyotes, particularly if there are not a lot of other people walking there during poor weather. Nice view of the city core and Rocky mountains within a short walk from the NW parking lot.
A fantastic park that offers privacy and an escape from the city- within the city. My favourite part of Calgary.
Lovely place to take dogs to and go for a stroll. Only part is the coyotes, I saw one walking through the field then I heard them attacking something in the trees off in the distance while people and their dogs were walk close by the area. Super creepy. Hope no one loses a dog.
Nose hill is one of Calgary's biggest hill parks. It has multiple viewpoints, depending how far you're willing to explore. Multiple parking lots for different experiences. Definitely a great place to ride a bike or walk your dog. Would highly recommend if you're bored to go get exercise there.
Park is within the city limits of Calgary. It is huge and there are a few trails that you can enjoy. You can see the whole city from the top but the night view is stunning.
Awesome place to go for walks with the puppy. Snow is a bit too deep for smaller puppies but it's still a fun time.
Nice point to view east side of city and airport. Many deers running.
One of the best places in Calgary to see the sunrise! Highly recommended for the views and the trails
Beautiful place to visit! Amazing view of the city and Calgary skyline! I've been told that there are cayotes and porcupines to be careful of, however, I didn't witness any during my visit! Watch some cayote 101 videos before you go and you'll absolutely enjoy this place! Also, it is a bit damp and muddy during this time of the year so make sure you wear shoes that you don't mind getting ruined!
Very good place to walk and workout good trail Not much elevation. and you get to see wildlife also at times.if you are lucky very good city view.
Great area for walks and hikes. There are many different paths to venture out on.
It’s a big park inside the city, you can go in and forget about the 1 million people around. But the park itself doesn’t have much of interest. Lots of trails to walk, lots of great views of the city, but there are no distinguishing features other on most trails.
Great place for a run, brisk walk and fresh air ????
Beautiful park and natural settings. Can walk into deep nature that would not hear any car or city noise. Be aware of dogs, some dog owners allow their dogs to get too close to other recreational users. Most likely for the first 10 minutes of walk, there would be dogs getting close to other users, until getting deeper into the park. Be aware of wildlife, coyote, deer and other animals. If you want to see wildlife, in summer time, late hours before dark, you are very likely to see good number of wildlife. However be aware they are really wild. I have seen moose, coyote, bobcat and deer with my own eyes.
We have Nose Hill close and we are there almost every day. Dogs could be off-leash, which is so important for us cause we have an active blue heeler. Amazing view on Calgary or other areas, it depends where you go. You could walk, run, cycle so many kilometers. Love it there ❤
If you need a place to get sun and fresh air, Nose Hill Park is here for you! I lost track of time because there are so many paths! Barely any trees for shade so wear a hat, and it has an awsome view of the mountains in the distance. I'm clausterphobic so I loved the wide open space???????? the only thing missing is a food truck in the parking lot.
If you like mountain biking or racing, training...you're in the right spot. Lots of trails for a leisurely walk or light hiking. Beautiful views!
Beautiful view of Calgary. I wouldn't take a nice car up there, the road is pretty treacherous.
Park is huge and beautiful!! Amazing views of the city and mountains all around! Took our dogs for the off leash areas and it was amazing!
It was a very wide and open space park in the middle the city. Parking are convenience and the washrooms are near by. You on on the top of the hill, and you have a good overview on the NW side of the city and downtown. Air are fresh and welcoming! This is a typical pairie land, flat w little hills and bushes everywhere. There are teepees inside some of the bushes. Go venture it out! Pathways are well maintained and easy to walk.
What a treat just a few minutes away from the city core! The landscape changes every time! Love love love!
