It has been a while since I was here but I will not forget my time spent there. Amazing actors and buildings to explore the history of the area. Rides, snacks and shops for the price of admission it is definitely a must visit while in Edmonton. I cannot wait to go back and see what is new

The Indigenous Peoples Experience is a MUST SEE! It's absolutely breathtaking!

Great place for hollowen

Went to see the Christmas market this year. It's beautiful but that's about it. I cannot recommend going with younger kids, the lines to get in (even if you pre booked) are very long and unorganized, 30+ minutes in the cold doesn't make for a good start even when you are dressed for the weather. Inside the lines are even worse, we gave up on all rides because there was just way to many people inside. But the worst experience was actually the woman at the entrance telling us we had to buy tickets in advance for all the rides and food/drinks before even seeing that the lines were so long we never got a chance to use them all. Because it turns out you can buy them inside, no need to make an on the spot decision at the gate like she said. So we ended up with $40 worth of tickets we could hardly use. I have been to the Fort many times and always enjoyed it, but they really need to rethink how they handle big crowds at this very small market. Good for a date, not for a family.

Jennifer Pollack

Love this place. An excellent choice for a wedding.

April Jackson

The new exhibit was intense and eye opening.. Made me proud to be a First Nations Cree Aboriginal Woman.. Mad Respect ???? Indigenous Lives Matter

Tinus Labuschagne

Lovely park to run in with so many options. Very well maintained and always very clean. I like the up and down and winding routes going through the trees.

danny duclo

This was much better than anticipated. The park is beautiful and the staff and actors are full of great information so don't be afraid to talk to them. The indigenous peoples experience is really worth some time. We had lunch at Johnson's cafe and it was delicious and average price. Our server (Geminia) was very friendly. I apologize if I spelled her name wrong.

Used to love this place but the reno is super disappointing - they ripped the playground out, the wooden boardwalks out, a lot of the big trees out - the midway isn't better - they should have left it the way it was!! All the best places are either gone or not operating - mini golf was close, the shooting gallery was closed, the pool tables were closed, the giant checkers board wasn't out - super disappointed!!! The carnival is not better at all than it was before and most of the rides were shut down - what happened to the roller coaster they promised - how on earth did they spend $165 million?? Insane waste of money. The bakery was closed - the carousel is closed for the whole season. Gross mismanagement!! And why on earth do we need a huge expensive entry way outside the park???? Completely useless - classic Edmonton!! Take a fantastic place and completely wreck it and spend gobs of money doing it. Fort Edmonton Park used to be my favourite place. These pics are from how it used to be before they wrecked it...

Great place to learn our history. Loved the train ride

Jill

I brought my great nieces here ages 5 and 9. My only complaint is that the ferris wheel is at the entrance and it is very hard to get little children interested in anything else once they see that!!! We rode the train to fort Edmonton but all they talked about was the ferris wheel so we had to head back over that way and missed a good part of the history of the Edmonton.

Adam Nichols

This was truly my favorite activity while visiting Canada from Kansas City, MO. The staff was all so friendly and the activities and sights were plentiful for an extremely reasonable price. I only wish I had more time here so I didn't have to rush through to see everything Fort Edmonton had to offer. Thank you!

Lionel Crockett

Fantastic opportunity to walk back into the past. The staff and volunteers do an incredible job of making the park an enjoyable activity.

JeaNFrancoiS Irisch-Mercier

Dark in the Park was amazing, my Best girl friend we hade so much fun... We even had more idea for next year...

Patrick Sanders

Great history of our city. The new indigenous centre is a fantastic addition.

Tracy&Elizabeth Lodge

Love coming here year after year! I still after many years find new things everytime i go

Nolan Chamczuk

Truly an amazing place, the staff are fantastic and the overall experience is one that will be charished for a lifetime. A place where you can have a new adventure even if you have visited before.

Julia Arcand

This place is horribly expensive for a family. Perhaps the $183 family pass would be worth it if the train was functioning all the time, the ferris wheel worked, the playground was back, all places that are closed off now are back open, the gardens were taken care of and so on. It's just so disappointing and it feels like a total rip off. At least there's a new gift shop at the new entrance!

Brandon Metchooyeah

I had a great time here. Lots to see and do.

Madeline Alcaraz

If you're into Oldies but Goodies, you must come here. It is the perfect place to learn what was the life back in 1920s. Lots of parking space. Systematic in the ticketing, by buying it physically in front or online. You may start to lineup for the train early. Otherwise, you will wait forever. Old bars, restaurants, bank, post office, bakery, old houses. And the Fort Edmonton itself. The highlight for me is the Indigenous Centre. It suddenly stopped my heart from seeing the entirety of the place. I highly suggest to turn an Avenue here in Edmonton named after EMMA ROWLAND AVENUE, PARK or BOULEVARD. As she is the Indigenous woman married to Kenneth MacDonald, where most Metis descendants come from.

Louis Edwards

What's not to love about Fort Eddie? There is so much amazing stuff there and wonderful staff, one day's visit is not long enough to do it justice!

Rachel Sommer

This is an expensive outing in the City, but the admission includes so much - Indigenous Peoples Experience, which is so well done, train ride, street car ride, so many buildings to explore (they seem to have opened even more areas), rides and games at the fair. The interpreters do a good job trying to immerse you into the time periods. Food at the park was very good and seemed like a pretty good value. We spent 6 hours here, and could come back again.

Mike Killick

A great full day experience for all ages. Book on line for 1/2 hour entrance time slots. New Indigenous building is fantastic ! Be prepared for lots of walking. End the day with icecream !

Alizeh Ansari

Husband and I visited for the first time and it was amazing. I kept low expectations prior to visiting as the reviews indicated that the renovations didn't hit the "cut" but it was nothing like I expected! From the steam train, tram, ferris wheel, mini-cinema, to the various characters in their get up, and animals (beautiful horses, ponies which children can ride on for a *fee*, roaming roosters, turkeys, cow, 3 lil piggies and more) - all which was free! We spent a good 6 hours there and tried to explore everything (there was so much to explore)! The experience was made even better by the employees who were dressed up in costumes and acted in their role, and sometimes even acted out in a scene to the specific era. Everyone was SO nice and easily accepted to get their pictures taken! There were only a few of buildings that were under construction (like the Al-Rashid Mosque which was pleasant to see) or partially restricted. We can't wait to see the park next year when its 99% completed hopefully. We would also like to see a Metis/First Nation ticket discount or an educator discount if possible in the future. Some tips: book the earliest possible time and on sunny weather, bring your own water, lunch/snacks as you will get hungry/thirsty, wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking A LOT, fully charged phone as there is much to capture, and be sure to catch the mini-cinema and steam train as the last running is at 4-4:30 pm I believe. After living in Edmonton for so many years, I can't believe I didn't explore this treasure of a park. Makes me appreciate Edmonton and its history even more!

Alexandra Williams

This park was so much fun! The people working here are quite knowledgeable and will tell you all about the history of the place. It's fascinating to learn about the history here, and to see the changes in building and city infrastructure over time. Also, the rides at the end are a great incentive for little ones! The only downside to be aware of is that some of the stores/attractions close earlier than the listed times, and some other attractions are closed for the season. However, there was still plenty to keep you occupied.

Devin Gray

An amazing living history museum hidden away in a small slice of nature next to the North Saskatchewan river. Free train rides, mini golf, streetcar rides, etc with admission.

Fred Apon

Great place for family. We had a total of 16 of us and we had a great time. There were 9 children ranging from 6 to 15. All had a good time. The Indigenous centre is amazing and extremely interesting, would definitely recommend a visit. Great place for all.

Chris McCahey

Really enjoyable day out on a long weekend. Great for little ones and younger kids. Just a shame the carousel was not working

Tomas Sordo Fuente

Great way to learn about Edmonton's history; make sure you allocate 3-5 hours as there is a lot to see and experience!

Kim Krock

Visited the park on Saturday this past weekend and was extremely impressed with the renovations. The Indigenous Peoples Experience was really well done. You can tell from the new exhibit that a lot of consultation was done to make this a great experience. The staff working in the IPE building were friendly and eager to share information. The content was a lot to take in, I suggest taking your time going through the building and reading all of the information presented. As an Indigenous person, I was grateful to learn more of Edmonton's history. There was great content about Metis people as well - my family is very grateful for the work that was done to present this history. The remainder of the park is always a great experience, we really enjoyed the fact that you no longer have to buy tickets for the carnival rides. All of this is included in your ticket, it makes the $95 Family Pass extremely well worth the price. There are a lot of bathrooms conveniently located throughout the park. Food and beverages are quite pricey, and the food is not the greatest, would suggest packing your own lunch! The adults in our group really enjoyed the fact that you can grab a beer and take it as you explore the park. Nobody was rowdy because of this, it made the experience a bit more enjoyable for the adults. When we visited, 90% of the buildings were open and the actors were very engaging. Had a great experience at the auto shop with an actor stopping to do some Edmonton headline facts - true or false with us! Kids really enjoyed this.

Went to Fort Edmonton park today after not being for 9 years. Quite a few buildings on the streets were closed and you could only look in the windows, the midway was closed, food truck was closed, Fort Trading post was closed. The concrete sidewalks look way to out of place, the wood ones looked much more period correct. The old signs from 2012 welcoming you into the different time periods looked much better then the modern 2021 looking ones. The 1920's street could use a lot more attention as not much happening on it. The big airplane hanger was empty and closed, the Al Rashid Mosque was all closed off with a fence (weren't they just shut down for 3 years to do big reno's). Quite a few handrails in the stair ways you dared not touch as they were sticky and gross. They could of done so much more with their supposed $165 million upgrades. It was nice to visit again and wasn't a bad price @ $27 for an adult ticket. I'd say go before the city starts making you pay for parking in 2022 on top of your ticket.

Tree Ninja - Edmonton

The train is super awesome and the park is super close to most communities in Edmonton

Everett Horner

Very nice park for walking or biking. I just wish the public washrooms were open when we were there. There should be some 24 hour washrooms at the park. I accept they wouldn’t be as nice as the main ones but anything is better than nothing.

Joyce Ng

Very good quality, service, price! Although a little old fashion interior, no body care. It is clean & tidy. It has long lineup on Friday & Saturday dinner time. Make sure you bring your vaccine proof. They check ID too. A good practice ensuring all customers are Covid safe????

Rayne-Anne Latchford Oosterveld

Fort Edmonton Park is pretty much one of the most all around cool and fun places in Edmonton to go. It's literally an isolated replica of Edmonton throughout history. 1800's-1900's. There's a carnival and the rides are included in admission. And there are 50lbs or less rides for little ones which is awesome. The stores are all real. There is a large park, lots of picnic tables, real gardens & a green house, actors all over the park tending to plants and animals. They have tours and talks regularly. There is also a rail car (and shuttle for wheelchairs/strollers/preference) you can access to the beginning and entrance of the park. You can go into the houses and see what it was like to live in the corresponding time. There's a movie theatre! You can also book weddings and events in the park. An attraction I can say is actually worth the admission. And a must see if you are visiting Edmonton, especially if you have kids. There's also a candy store ♥️

Barb Bouvette

Love love Fort Edmonton Park. Was in the Indigenous pavilion. So much to learn and see

Cindy Bare

Very interesting. Well worth going to see. Fun for kids too.

Caterina Vaduva

Always an epic experience, so much to see and check out. Take a walk down the different eras. Also super cool indigenous peoples portion now, that's brand new!!!!!

Jonathan Armstrong

I really enjoyed the actors, I spoke to a mountie who explained all about the history of his particular uniform, and a woman who told me about poisonous wallpaper. It was a great time and we'll worth the sore feet.

Cook with Dhaval

Lot of fun activities for all family.. as soon as you enter you are transported to past and you relive evolution through history. I would recommend to carry small snacks and water bottles with you to avoid long line ups at various cafes. We ate Hunters paneer burger with fries and coleslaw at Kelly's salon and enjoyed it. Crunchy freshly tossed cabbage slaw and chunky paneer burger was a winner even if you are not vegetarian.

Marc BLACK PANTHER

Although when we went, the park was officially closed but the zebra center had rented the midway for a special function so the rides and games were only open. Was nice that day.

DARK Edmonton Review: Attended on Thursday Oct 21st, 2021. The front security doors open at 6PM as advertised, but they fail to mention hat you are stuck waiting for the Main attraction gates to open until 7PM. I don't understand the logistics of standing there for over an hour. Why not just open the front door at 7PM? On another note, all 3 "haunted houses" had security in plain clothes standing in the rooms in plain view completely ruining the experience. There was maybe 2 things that you left saying "oh that was cool". Not scary at all unless you were 7-9 years old. Overpriced (drinks were essentially $9 bucks each), Food price changes randomly, very unorganized as a whole to be honest. I don't mean to compare different events but Deadmonton blows this out of the water! Save your money honestly.

Jordin Guenette

The park isn't what it was years ago they don't seem to be as committed to keeping the part in its former glory and it just didn't seem alive just wasn't the same but the people were nice and it was really cool to go back in time it's a great place to take Friends or family to explore all the old things that they have on show! And I would definitely recommend going!

Krystle Sutherland

Had a great afternoon date with my husband. Food was great at Kelly's Saloon. Loved the new midway attractions.

Gail Fabricante

I LOVE historical places like these. Although most of the parts are still closed down because we went there after they reopened after years of construction (i think), i still very much enjoyed our experience. The only time i went here before was when I get free tickets to see a Murdoch Mysteries related event. All the staff are in character and wearing the appropriate clothing and when you ask them questions they are very knowledgeable about the topic or the station they are in. Love the little restaurants/snack bars they have. Very vintage and the food is tasty. Money was definitely worth it. Would go back again once everything is all opened. The carnival section has most of its parts still closed. Great place to bring family/kids or for dates because it will take you almost the whole day to tour around the whole place and there’s always something to see.

Darren Froese

The kids enjoyed the midway and the train and the rest of what we explored was good. The biggest disappointment was the food. It was hard to swallow paying $6 for a boiled hotdog that was sitting in a bowl of water for who knows how long. If going to the park make sure that you plan for a full day event and maybe have a picnic outside the gates since you can not being in your own food.

Petre Ene

my favorite museum in Edmonton. You get to see how the city looked liked 100 years ago

Sharmaine Jesm Santos

Had lots of fun at the Christmas Market ☺️

Darren Wanty

Great place. Very interesting. Shame it couldnt stay open a little longer though. 3pm in summer is a little early.

King

Fun for the whole family. Like travelling back in time

Wayne Callihoo

I haven't been here for 25 yrs, the new renovations is great. Spent lots of time in the first nations building very nice to see the recognition and exhibits in this building. Train ride was great. Only wish was more parking. But parking assistance was good.

Austin's Baker

I found the experience quite nostalgia and was left baffled by the superior theatre arrangement nearing the end of the conventional route. A great excuse to get the whole family outside for a reasonable price (prepare for a prolonged wait for food) and also educate oneself whilst being profoundly immersed in the "olden days". I'd suggest taking the train when commencing your adventure and then proceeding back on foot.

Armeen Budhwani

They decorated well for the Christmas market. It was reasonable and affordable.

Jamie Learning

Bring the Whole Family! This place melds fun and history!

Corpse Grinder

Good experience of history. Beer sold on the side in ice boxes. Bring sunscreen tho. A packet is 6$ incase you forget it.

Jenn Budden

Our family had a great day here. Make sure you study your map you are given as soon as you arrive to understand where all the bathrooms and food stations you would like to stop at are. The actors are great and the every detail is appreciated! ???? go early and make a full day if fun. Lots of great things to see and snacks! All the places are busy so be prepared to wait in line for food and the bathroom but it's very much worth the wait!

Rebekah Gulley

Easily my favorite place to spend a nice summer or fall day in Edmonton! Rich in history and such an enjoyable place to walk around. They have amazing events throughout the year as well. We make an effort to go several times a year. What a joy to visit!

Avery

I love Fort Ed. I've been going there since I was a kid! I just went back yesterday, since the just renovated parts of the park last year. The midway is great, and I love how the streets slowly travel back in time. There were lots of people there, and they had lots of great 'actors' walking around and telling you about the history of the buildings. We went for lunch at Johnson's cafe, in Hotel Selkirk. Very good! We at one time debated having our wedding at Hotel Selkirk, but it was way out of our budget. I can go to Fort ed every year, and still love seeing the place again and again. There is lots to see and do, and usually A LOT of kids. We also stopped by the Capital Theatre for a quick showing on the "history of Edmonton', it was a beautiful theatre, and shows the films in '4D'. Quite a few of the buildings were closed when we went, so not all the 'shops' were open when we went. Don't know why? Also, when I was little, the small bakery on 1885 street used to have these AMAZING giant soft pretzels that I always looked forward to, why did you stop doing this? I've heard so many people saying they miss this bakery BRING IT BACK! They added the indigenous people's exhibit this year. I was really hoping it be a development on the small tipi villages they had before, but it didn't. It was this massive modern looking building tucked way back into a weird corner of the park. The inside of the building was beautiful and the exhibits were well done, but it felt more like a modern art gallery than a historical museum. The whole park tries its hardest to be architecturally accurate and represent it's time period, but this building looks just like every new building built today. It's modern, brown, with lots of windows, and neat rows of planting. I'm not sure what I was hoping for, but it really doesn't match the whole vibe of the park at all. But the exhibit was very informative (all the information was kinda overwhelming!) , and everyone inside was very helpful. It was a weird, and emotional end to the park. There is also a new entry gate to the park (why.so.much.modernism). The new gate looks like most of the new entry ways the City has been putting in parks (like the zoo). But this is a HISTORY MUSEAM. I came here for hisssstttttooorrryyy. I'm not sure if there were structural issues with the old entry gate/house or what. But this new entry gate is long and weird. There is a small cafe, and the gift shop is at the entry. The gift shop is a big concrete room of grey, and children's yells echo through the whole building. The gift shop might be under construction still because there was barely anything there, and no where the amount of local/farmers market items that the old gift shop had. There isn't any charisma or character to these new buildings. Fort Edmonton, you are a history museum, why are you adding these new fancy buildings that are the complete opposite of your whole existence?

K Carson

Absolutely love Fort Edmonton park, there is so much to see and do! Deffs go early as it’s easy to spend the whole day here, especially if you plan on checking out EVERYTHING Highly recommend checking out the midway, try out the maze and the fun house ( there’s a fun house for the younger kids and also one that’s a bit more scary which includes things like a 2 headed chicken and werewolf) The Indigenous Peoples Experience was beautiful, a little hard to find the front door (which is on the other side of the building, farthest from where the train drops you off) but really worth visiting. There are a few places to grab some hot food and a beer throughout the park, and lots of picnic areas if you choose to pack your own lunch/snacks.

David Stock

Edit: the park reached out to us and I have to say customer service was absolutely fantastic about this. I'm very pleased with how it was resolved and 5* it is. ___________________________________________________________ I do recommend going, but I have to say I was quite disappointed yesterday to arrive with pre-booked online tickets to find that the newly renovated areas were not open. I booked the tickets yesterday morning at 7am and got there for my time slot at 12:30. A guide explained that parts of the park were shut due to wildfire smoke. I totally understand the risk of the smoke especially for those in poor health. But to buy tickets on the day and not even be informed before we arrived was a major disappointment- especially after we’ve all waited for 3 years to see all the new attractions. We had our 4 year old boy with us and we weren’t going to disappoint him by just going home at the gate - but did mean we missed a lot but still had to pay full price. The guide said “it was put out on social media” - ok fair enough. I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t routinely check social media every time I’m going out somewhere. The whole park is outside so I don’t understand the logic of closing the new stuff only to force people to walk around the whole park (which we did for 4ish hours anyway). I think if you’re gonna close the park due to smoke, then close the whole park. A partial closure didn’t make sense and now I’m faced with the another $75 fee if I want to take my family to go again later this year. We’ll be considering that decision carefully I think.

Brady

Kind of boring and remember it differently but it could have just been limited stuff because of covid.

darcy semeniuk

Great place to get away and the area has many trails which I was surprised to learn

Mitch McKiel

Was fun but they could do a better job with a route to maximize your time there. We had our 2 kids (4 and 2 yrs) and wasted quite a bit of time just wondering around trying to figure out which way we were supposed to be going. I guess thats part of the fun though

Jason Smith

What an amazing throwback to experience four different era's of Edmonton's history. This was an absolute joy and a fun filled day especially taking a ride on the train and visiting the Carnival and attractions. I love the fact that the animals are free to roam and you can enter the buildings to see. This is worth a visit every year.

Jennifer Beyer

Love the new Indigenous People's Experience!! So so well done. Staff and volunteers all courteous and kind. Look forward to more of the buildings opening up again.

James Gully007

Just went for the first time in 4 years. The Indigenous Peoples Experience was to be frank, about time. Imagine a history of the Edmonton area, but only glossing over thousands of years of history. But the new center was so well done, it was (almost) worth the wait. I've never seen anything like it. Go. Take your kids. It's time to start actually seeing these people and their beautiful rich culture in a positive light, and recognizing the injustice they have suffered. Many of us have a lot to learn. This amazing exhibit may be a perfect tool to help. Well done.

Wesam Khalfalla

Great place for kids and families

Jesús

Awesome park, great trails to run on, easy to find parking, abundant scenery. I highly recommend bug spray if not plan on out running the severe amount of mosquitoes. Have not partaken in the canoe launches on the river but, I was told it's super accessible and a lot of fun. A great place for photos and quiet times for Zen. Aside from my visit to Jasper and Banff, this was the most locally easing scenery the city has to offer. Will definitely make more time to explore when I visit next summer. Not sure what it is like in the winter ????

Dwayne Lavallee

$165 million spent on renovations and upgrades over 3 years, and finding a washroom is soo difficult to find once dropped off near the fort and IPE via the railway. As a Métis, I wanted to start with the Indigenous Peoples Experience, but once getting into the building after locating the entrance, I found that their washroom facilities were CLOSED. I am very disappointed in Fort Edmonton Park for this or whoever the party responsible is. There could have been a little more thought put into some aspects with the time and budget spent on this great park. I found the woods before I could locate an open washroom. Though, other than trying to find an open washroom once inside the park, my experience was great. Especially the Indigenous Peoples Experience center. I really appreciate the tremendous effort that was put into the entire project. Thank you to all those who worked hard on this project. I will return.

Ryan Brown

Fort Edmonton Park is a nice place to visit as a tourist, and some of their events are pretty interesting. Beyond that Fort Edmonton Park is the definition of a tourist trap, from a brutal admission price to food prices and quality that makes most theme parks look reasonable, finished off with trinkets and collectables that can all be easily found elsewhere at 1/3rd to half the cost. If feeling like you're being milked dry isnt enough the era actors are (excluding a few) rarely happy to interact with guests and the rides are average at best. But they are nice if you haven't been on any in a while.

Michael Ver Punzalan

This place is amazing, the Indigenous exhibit is highly recommended! Wow. ????????

HavaShana J

Absolutely loved it! You should definitely visit. I had several highlights. Went up and down the staircase twice! 200 counts each way. There's a beautiful bridge which stretches across the river, a nice trail, fresh air and a beautiful nature's walk. Your lungs will thank you for it. Thank me later! Enjoy!

Heather MacDermid

I have loved Fort Edmonton Park for years. I have visited multiple times a year since I was a child and the experience never disappointed. Unfortunately after visiting this year following the renovations, I have to say I was sorely disappointed. So much inside of the park is closed, from the old entrance train station, to most of the shops and buildings on 1885 street, and the already lacking 1920 street. The hangar, the Ukrainian shop, the mini golf etc. Not to mention the long standing attraction of Gyro Park playground has been demolished and removed. It seems most of the efforts were focussed on updating the Midway, but even the Midway disappoints. Since the cost of the games has now been encorporated into the admission price there are no longer prizes to be won. This greatly reduces the appeal of playing. They also installed a larger Ferris Wheel which was not open on the day of our visit and it was implied by one interpreter we spoke with that it is rarely open given a myriad of problems and excuses. The only real operational ride was the swings meaning the lineup was long. Even the carousel which was open and functioning for many years before the renovations is now closed with no reason given. I don't think Fort Edmonton was ready to reopen for this season - there is a lot still closed and under construction. Not to mention, I along with many others donated to the "light the midway" efforts earlier this year which appear to have been for nothing as they don't appear to have the staff or funding to operate most of the park. Tremendously disappointing visit. Would not recommend for anyone this season. I am hoping by next year they will have figured things out and brought the park up to the long expected standard.

Lorraine H.

It probably would of been good is the street car would of accepted a senior with a walker... Plus everything (buildings) were split up.. Had to walk a block out two to see something.... So it wasn't too exciting...

Bloo Soto

The place is amazing for hosting the Dark 2019. The actors are so good. It is really an exceptional experience. More of this type of events.

Stephen O'Mara

We recently visited the John Janzen Nature Centre located at Fort Edmonton. This is a great place for winter fun, especially for younger children. They have a wonderful kids indoor playground in the Tegler Discovery Zone. Besides a slide and a climbing structure of tunnels and nets with a bumblebee theme, there are other fun things like discovering a squirrel's midden and little foam acorns that can be collected and dropped into the midden from above. Children can go through the midden and see how squirrels nest. There's also a tunnel into a beaver lodge the kids can go into and explore. Across the hall there's an exhibit room where children can see and learn about all kinds of things like salamanders, frogs, and garter snakes. There's too much to write here, but I really think this is great place for kids to play and learn (and adults!). Our granddaughter loved all the activities and had a great chance to run around and get some exercise on a cold winter day. Be sure to check out their website to see all the things available for children during the winter months.

Claudio Cividino

Great day at Fort Edmonton Park, not impressed with the food at the "bar b que" which was really bad fast food served on frozen buns. I learned about the city and the events that happen throughout the year at the park.

Adib Kaddoura

Amazing trip into the past

Daniel Bilodeau

Very disappointed, they removed alot of old trees that made the park beautiful. All the stores in the fort where you can buy gifts or candy were closed. Took away the feeling of being in the time with the cement sidewalk. Even the entrance did not feel right like the old train station. Love the way it was before the improvements.

richard kusi-menkah

It was pretty fun! Was here for the dark event. The little mini games like skee ball and carnival games were fun. The actors walking around were good to. The haunted houses are terribly scary but there are 3 so that's cool!

Samantha Ur

The new Indigenous People's center is amazing. They did a beautiful job! The rest of the park is great. Very informative.

Reemon Dawood

Amazing place to visit with family and friends. Everyone is dressed up nicely and do a great job acting like the 1900s. Just wish there was more places within the park, since there’s lots of free space

Greg Pang

Felt like Westworld with staff dressed up in period costumes and playing their parts! Oh, we had a great visit. So much to do for the family. Excellent value for the admission prices. Now, freeze all motor functions...

Munashe Gwinji

Great place as an adventure or as a venue.

Kelly Rosborough

We went mid day on a Wednesday and the park was very busy. To avoid long lines for food, I'd recommend you bring some snacks and drinks. Then you'll be able to spend more time looking at the park - which is great

Neda Farheen

Bring your comfy walking shoes, but so worth it! Great space and entertainment for all ages. :)

Moisés Muñoz

Wonderful, spectacular place everything in this place is very nice, it makes you go back to the past the cars, the train, the floats the people and their costumes The best the fun area where you definitely get back to make child again

Crater H

It has been a while since I was here but I will not forget my time spent there. Amazing actors and buildings to explore the history of the area. Rides, snacks and shops for the price of admission it is definitely a must visit while in Edmonton. I cannot wait to go back and see what is new!

Heather Steyn

A great place to go to for a day filled with fun. We loved going on the carousel, the train and exploring the buildings. You learn a lot about the history of Edmonton and how people lived. My favorite was probably the beautiful peonie garden.

Sam A

Was very relaxing being there as well as experiencing how people lived in the 18th century Edmonton, with exact replicas of houses, businesses and activities reflecting that period of history. Unique digital section showing history of the indigenous people in the area. Train ride showing scenic trails of the park. Good modern restaurant. I recommend this place, it makes me feel as if I'm outside of the city, yet I'm in the middle of it. Thanks

G. G.

Nice area to picnic or hold meetings! Fort Edmonton is certainly something to see

Sabrina Dhalla

Great way to spend the day. Perfect for all ages!

Karlee Law

Such a great place to spend the day! Lots of picnic spots and cafes to have lunch. I also love the midway area with the ferris wheel!

Kristopher King

Loved it, my kids loved it and was enjoyed by an older fella with reduced mobility. Anytime you get to ride a train, streetcar, ferris wheel and/ or have a wagon ride is a good time. The indigenous people's experience building is great and the friendly staff are very knowledgeable. Thoroughly impressed, everyone had a great time and we will be back.

Sarah McCambridge

Fun day at the park! Found it a little expensive but we appreciate the family deal. The new exhibits were very nice. A little disappointing that quite a few shops we closed. The food was expensive but was pretty tasty! Happy to see Alley Kat being offered at the good stops!

Vera S.

Best park in the summer. Ride the streetcar! An educational nostalgic event. Movie theater, Candy stores, amusement rides.

Joel Toews

Went for the grand reopening after the new indigenous exhibit. Awesome new addition, very immersive and informative. Awesome new food place in the middle of the park with ciders, burgers, beer, and so much else. Great way to spend a nice summer day!

Ellen Sheppard

Well done. Reenactors were all excellent. Lots to see and do for whole family. Plan on 3 hours.

Nicholas Cameron

A great way to spend the day! This place has a Carnival with fun games, a ferris wheel and fun house! Pro tip on sunny days, the Capitol theater play great shows and has Air Conditioning. The new Indigenous Center is a great place to learn all about native and aboriginal cultures! Perhaps the only wrinkles in otherwise a perfect visit was the train. Due to mechanical problems it was not running.

Steve Nachtegaele

We paid about $75 for 2 adults and 1 3yo, there was no parking (had to park on the street by fox drive), the ferris wheel had a wait of about an hour, the train about 30 min and the ice cream shop about 30 min. At which point the kid wanted to go home. But hey, the employees were friendly and what I could see from the train looked nice.

R C

Loved it. Lots of open space, and things to see. My only issue is jam packing the trains especially the two smaller ones. Jam packed as in people touching eachother. With Covid still around this shouldn't be happening even if everyone had to wear a mask.

Alejandra Saavedra- Edm

I was great, but back in 2012 when I went last the installations were better kept, the flowers and gardening parts were way better

Richard Melanson

Under renovation, it's going to be awesome!

Margot Byer

The interpreters at the Indigenous Peoples Experience were so willing to dig deeper in their answers to our questions. It made for a rich visit.

Malcolm Steele

Nice new indigenous centre but overall the whole site seemed somewhat shabby for a grand re-opening.

Catzes96

Went here last summer as part of our family vacation for the first time. I brought my 2 toddlers. We had a wonderful experience!! There is so much to do! This park is huge. Be expected to spend all day at this park from opening till close if you want to go through it all. It was awesome to take the old train to the actual fort and also ride the old town train. The fort is huge and has lots of open places to explore. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I love how everyone is dressed up as pioneers! The old carnival was so cool to show the kids! All in all a wonderful experience!!

Laura-Lee Rahn

Probably the best living history venue in Alberta, if not all of Canada. It is a recreation of the Edmonton of yesterday with various ORIGINAL buildings actually transported to this site. I like all the different churches from different time periods to see how small and basic they were. When you visit places like the fire "department" and see the equipment used, you can't help but be transported back in time. But for me, it's Fort Edmonton itself as the focal point that gets my imagination into overdrive. Edmonton was originally a Fort established to bring peace into the area between the whites and natives and to stop the sale of liquor. And I use the term "liquor" loosely because often it wasn't fit for human consumption but sold to the natives anyway. Actors and experts are on hand to enhance the experience. A great gift shop and tons of events. You definitely will want to go to the website to check out all the events available and plan your time wisely. You simply cannot see all there is to see in one visit, so don't plan to. This is NOT something you want to rush through, so take your time, enjoy a slower pace, and plan to come back to see more. I look forward to when COVID-19 is over, all renovations completed and Fort Edmonton is fully open and receiving guests again. NOTE: The only reason I deducted a star in my rating is that there are some areas that are not accessible by wheelchair. But I look forward to the day when that is corrected too. Thank you for taking the time to read another one of my reviews. Sincerely, Laura-Lee (Was Here)

Craig Peterson

Love this place. So many amazing things to see and do

Elizabeth Cruickshank

Really neat location. The Christams market was delightful. The drag and burlesque show at the Capitol theater was a riot. I definitely will be back. Would love to learn more about the fort' s history.

Thacylla Da Silva

An amazing place to go with a friend or family. Lots of things to do like the theater, stores, train rides and carnival games all included with admission. Also ask questions to the historical actors you will learn alot about edmonton. This must be my 6th visit to Fort Edmonton in summer. I will love to visit during Halloween time again.

Rachael Robertson

Bummed that the train and ferris wheel weren't running. Those are the 2 things the kids look forward to the most. Looking forward to their replacements!

Dwight Thomas

Went to an event called DARK. Had loads of fun.

R.J. W.

Love it here!

Caitlin Higgins

Overall it was a great experience. My only issue was that several interactive exhibits were closed and there was no indication of this when we purchased tickets. Had we known, we may have picked a different day. What was open was great!

Nicholas Salloum

You really need a full day to see everything they have there, well worth the price of the season pass

Daniel Bertoli

I was doing some construction work here a few years back. It was a really neat place, even working there was a pleasure.

Lindsay D

Haven't been to fort edmonton park in years. However, I saw that they offered brunch at Johnson's cafe. I thought it would be a cute date idea to come for brunch and explore the park. The park itself was fine, but the brunch experience was horrible. We had tickets for 12:00 and when we got there at 12:00 there was a line all the way up to the front door. I thought all these people were just walk up's but no, they all had 12:00 tickets like we did. We stood in line for a full hour before we got to the front to be seated. When we were finally seated, we were given a table that had been empty the whole hour we were standing in line back by the front door, it just was covered in dirty dishes. There was no juice left, the food was average at best. It was clear they sold more tickets than their capacity. Would not recommend.

Tiez Lysenko

Great time. Wish they could do something about the wasps... I've heard dish soap in water attracts them.. could help around the food areas

Katerina Maresova

Currently closed because of reconstruction, will reopen 22.5. There is a nice easy trail there, along a river

Kai Tempest

Fantastic historical recreation of the city in its infancy with a fantastic new element exploring the history of the indigenous people and their crucial part as well.

L19htofmyL1fe

My favorite place to visit! Love learning about history and with the real people interpreters and the houses set up like they were it's so much fun!

THATJDMGUY

Kids loved the train and us adults did too!

Reemon Dawood

Amazing place to visit with family and friends. Everyone is dressed up nicely and do a great job acting like the 1900s. Just wish there was more places within the park, since there’s lots of free space

Tom Genore

I go here multiple times a year. This was the first time I went to experience Dark. It was absolutely FANTASTIC! It was one of the coolest attractions I have ever been to. Everything about the haunts, the decor, the actors, the food was perfectly done! I will be back again for sure! I recommend adding the Fort of Fear to your ticket!

Nourman Thetraveller

A place where you can spend the whole day with a lot of 19 century memories.A lot of places to visit and see.Kids or even adults can enjoy some Games . ticket price according to the service and facilities is so cheap. The customer service is super fantastic the stuff are very friendly.

Sara Friske

Dark and Fort Edmonton Park in general are great attractions- there is something for everyone. I love going to DARK every year. This year though I did find it a bit less interesting and less organized than previous years. Love that they continue to put on events and have this attraction in Edmonton! In the summer, Fort Edmonton Park is so pretty too!

Vovan G

This is a wonderful place to visit in the summer and in the winter! Tons of activities and attractions. Can easily spent a whole day here.

Julie Wiseman

Friendly staff, very into the spirit, very informative and good eats.

Kryspin Drozdek

It has always been my favourite place to go with kids and it got even better after renovations, but if they keep closing the rides without notice or partial refunds than I'm not coming back. Admission is quite expensive and I get it, but if I'm paying full price - I expect to take full advantage of it.

Mickiee S

Went to the Highland Games on Saturday. Beautiful day to enjoy some super talent! Only thing that might have helped would have been to have some signage to point people in the direction where the different activities were going on. Also, it's not cheap to get in! Wowsers! Otherwise, it was a great day.

Kellen Westman

A gem of our city. The new Indigenous Peoples Experience is enlightening and a great way to educate yourself about our country’s checkered past.

Karen Kitsch

Dark was a fun experience. Will definitely do it again next year.

Becca D

The haunted house this year, top notch. Deadmonton has some competition. Really well done and just a lot of fun.

Emi A.

What a fun place for all ages! You can easily spend the whole day here.

Chantel Matty

Great Family outing. We bought our tickets online, which made entry quick and easy. Lots to see and do. Once you enter the park you can either take the train to the other end of the park or and work your way past to "present" or walk to the other end from "present" to past and take the train back to the start at the end. The kids loved the midway area. Staff was great and knowledgeable. They have multiple food venues throughout the park and lots of bathrooms nearby. There are places to have picnics, snacks, or a rest. Lots of walking. It's a big park.

jess samchuk

Had a great time at Fort Edmonton Park on Saturday. The Steam Engine was amazing. The conductor, Craig was so knowledgeable and created a great experience for my family. The Indigenous People Experience was informative and very well done. I would maybe suggest some old fashioned beverage carts cycling throughout the park as getting a drink was time consuming due to the large amount of people. Overall, great way to spend the day with the family.

Buckky Drones

Definitely worth a visit to the indigenous peoples experience. Highly recommend

Matthew Long

The park has changed a lot since my last time here! I only had a couple of hours at the park this time but I suspect you'd need at least 4 hours to make a decent go of it. Budget at least an hour for the new Indigenous Experience: it's incredibly well-done and there is so much to learn there.

Haci Kilic

Very nice. I will love to come again. I been there couple of times already and there are some good changes entrance , indigenous history building etc.

Lisa Guirguis

The new indigenous experience is amazing. There is a lot of info and it will take multiple vists to take it all in.

Mamdouh Kaldas

A great experience for all ages. Live in the past for a day and enjoy!

David Armstrong

Excellent place to learn about indigenous cultures and about early life for settlers in the Edmonton area. There are some good food options and it's big enough to not feel crowded on a busy day. The midway is newly expanded and authentic.

Seffrona Z

Great open walking area. Went to "dark"

Shirley Ternowsky

Was somewhat disappointed that there was very little to do for a small person. My granddaughter was just a bit too big for the small merry-go-round and the large one was closed. The mini golf was not operational and the pony rides were closed b/c the staff said it closes down when it is 32° but it was 31°. There weren't any events in the Midway Event Tent. We enjoyed the Train Ride and the Street Car/Trolley. It seemed like a lot of money to pay for 50% of the Midway closed or not operating. Maybe a good experience for some teens and adults but not so great for small people.

Brian Baldock

Opening weekend since the renovation. Lots to see! Some things weren’t operational but will be soon. All of the volunteers and employees were awesome to talk with and hear about the history! Solid 5 hours spent but could have been a couple more to get everything.

Wilma Engracia

Been here several times every summer sometimes twice in a week kids loves to play, enjoy the train ride, the theater almost everything I should say. The staff are friendly and the place were clean. Looking forward to visit again once it opens.

Nick

Went to fort Edmonton for the dark event was awesome but dress warm of you go on Halloween night

Victoria Holota

It's a great location where history comes alive! Supervised a grade seven field trip here and the kids were surprised that they were able to learn while having lots of fun. Only complaint: many things shut down or were in the process of shutting down a while before the park closed. It's awkward being in a shop while they're stacking chairs on tables around you a good half hour before the park closes.

Ron Pavon

Awesome hiking and you get to cross the Fort Edmonton bridge which has a great view of the river. It’s a great place for a date night or day. Haven’t been to the actual amusement park yet.

Vipul Surana

Nice All age group can enjoy

Jeremy U

Our visit here was nice. Staff was nice and welcoming. I just felt that there wasn't as much interactive things to do for kids. It was nice to learn the history and see things but not alot of things to do.

Courtney Albrecht

The new Indigenous pavilions very well done. The park as a whole has seen great improvements. A great way to spend a day outdoors

Kevin Greenlee

Very very cool place to take you back to another time. Lots of awesome history and lots to learn. Great for the whole family!

Daniel F. Cartagena

Beautiful place. The building with Indigenous Experience is moving and educative, strongly suggested.

Andrew Lytovchenko

Looks like an abandoned construction site with gavel, piles of debris, and large weeds growing everywhere, and stomped out grass in high traffic areas. Visited in Aug 2021. Paid $100 for family of 4 with kids aged 3 and 8. Found it to be poor value for the kids and adults. The park looks poorly finished outside the amusement carnival area. Hardly any info boards to describe the exhibits. Poor housekeeping evident everywhere. Fine if it was $50 and outside city limits, but considering this is inside the City out expectations were higher, and since it is newly renovated, our family did not think $100 was a fair deal.

dragonlaw

Came here for my birthday and it was a blast wink wink in the past.

Larry Gray

The Capitol Theater was fantastic. Very well remodeled.

S. Olsen

I go all the time, love the park and all the events they put on. Great that all the rides and games at the fair are included. The theatre is amazing. Oh and the new IPE is outstanding!

Ron Sannachan

One of Edmonton's best attractions. Now with the addition of the Indigenous People's Experience, it is even better.

Andrew Dennison

Love this place for random date nights and so on. It reminds me of old school towns in BC and some in the US. It's nice that the community and city of Edmonton are invested in making this park even more than it already is.

That Friend You know

Great place to learn about edmontons history from 1846 through the 1920s in a living history museum for all ages. Even earlier now with the Indigenous Peoples Experience, it's pretty awesome

Patricia Catalig

As a tourist (from BC), I was very excited to visit this Park! The entrance fee was reasonable for what you see inside the park. Lots of attractions to which I wish I had all day to see and read. I wish there's more crew on site for every attraction to explain a bit of the piece. The train was very fun! The conductor could use a mic! The middle train was kinda tricky. We tried finding where to get on for it but no luck. The Indigenous experience was very nice. The sounds, the lights matches the visuals. Very informative pieces.

Bertha Ethier

Great to see this place reopen with a new indigenous pavilion but it was not super little kid friendly as it was mostly reading. Would need to go again without the kids to get the full information posted inside. The door to the pavilion said no photos and no touching but I saw children climbing on the display canoe and people taking photos so I didn't quite understand what the rules were actually.

Kyle Johnson

It rained, so that sucked. But the experience over all was pretty awesome

J.D. Kalinowski

Was a great experience friendly staff actors did a great job. The theater was a must see quite a suprise.

Chrissy Pon

Really enjoyed the new First Nations museum. Quite beautiful and informative. Good value for summer pass. Didn't finish the entire park, will need to return. Train and trolley were both great as well. Lots of fun for young kids.

Dewey Carew

I would recommend the summer pass , as there is much to explore , hard to complete in one visit. Good value in the pass. Pack a panic lunch or grab a bite on site. A great place for a family outing.

Shil

It's a good place to go on a walk and take your bike, there are good trails for both. There's also the bridge, which you can take to have the beautiful view of the river. You have parking option, and the properties around this place are huge. You can enjoy the view in both winters as well as other seasons, it's worth enjoying at all times. I personally love to go on the fort Edmonton footbridge and keep watching the water, it's so soothing and calming. Hope you like this place

Thomas Stahlke

The Indigenous Peoples Experience is absolutely fascinating, both inside and out! Check out the changes to the park, it's worth another visit!

ACE XIII

Nice place to visit for family trips.

spomodo

Awesome it has a 102 year old steam train that you can ride with a old looking carnaval and the original fort!

Tamie A.

It was my first time and it was lovely! I will surely visit again!

Alireza Samiee

A must go in Edmonton. A disney like park. Awesome staff and a lot to do and learn. Make sure you check out the theatre as well. So well worth the time. We spent five hours and it was all fun

Jo Starko

Literally one of my favorite things to do in Edmonton. I grew up going there with my mom and as a 26 year old I can't wait for them to reopen. You can go on carriage rides (or street car) to go down the streets faster. Or you can take the *literal* train. I went there when I was in elementary for field trip and got to see how to bake bread, 1920s style with a wood burning stove in a real 1920S house, and eat bannock with First Nations people (dressed in time accurate clothing) beside a replica tipi. The fort itself is incredible. HUGE. Really based off the real thing, down to the nails and ceiling height. There is a shop that was meant to be a replica of a fur trading business with actual furs. The scent hits you when you walk in. 11/10 would recommend.

Tomas Belchior

We purchased a season pass this year and have really enjoyed going. My kids have a great time and we find there's a lot to enjoy whatever age you are. Sucks the trains down this year for maintenance but we don't feel like it takes too much away from the experience. I also find the season pass is the better way to go for families (cost-wise) if you plan on going more than once.

Yellowhead Auctions

Love this place! The new Indigenous centre is amazing & so beautiful. A true history that is told in such a poignant way

Lance Doucette

Had a wonderful time. Great food, lots to see. Considering getting a membership next year. Really recommend it if you have even a passing interest in history and the past of Edmonton.

Michelle DeBay

The new Indigenous exhibit is phenomenal.

Liam Cusack

Great experience for the whole family at any time of year. Love the renovations.

Nicholas Sedore

The addition of the indigenous peoples experience building really added a lot of value to the Fort Edmonton park experience. The Midway as well really gives a place for children to burn off energy, and all attractions in the Midway are free to experience with your entrance fee. The rest of the park seems largely unchanged from years past besides a few additions here and there, but the interpreters are fun and knowledgeable and really add to the experience.

Elaine Ardis

It was great. Nice go back .

Sarah H

Great day went for brunch and saw all the new sites beautiful . Everyone in character such a fun day . Brunch was delicious hot and fresh but don't expect many covid protocols when it comes to distancing or extra plates at the buffet. Expect to line up right beside people dinning and reuse your dirty plate for seconds at the buffet . They do ask that you wear a glove while serving yourself not sure what your supposed to do with the dirty glove after. The old fashion presentation of it was great the fresh baked cinnamon buns were everyone's favorite. Staff was amazing and friendly throughout . The new indigenous exhibit was incredible and the train being up and running was really fun .

Jonathan Rokosh

Very friendly staff, lots of things to do and see to keep you and your kids busy for hours! I particularly liked the free to play carnival games.

Mr Attari

Wonderful place for the whole family to enjoy. Really takes you back to old Edmonton. And believe it or not. There are actually real people living there.

Leigha Mazur

My family and I went for the day on Sunday, we arrived at 12pm and it was slightly busy. Two of the rides in the midway were closed and the lineup for the Ferris Wheel was incredibly long. We decided to go look around first and then come back to it later. There were so many people it took a very long time for anything. Getting ice cream took 25 minutes. By the time we got to the Pony and Wagon rides they were closed for the day. (around 2:30pm). Slightly disappointed we walked back around to try and get some food. Long lines again and limited places to sit. By this point is was already 4 o'clock. By the time we got to the fair area both the ferris wheel and the steam train were closed for the day. Wasted my money for a day of waiting to not be able to do the things we wanted. Staff were very friendly and the park looked great though! I will to go back on a day that isn't so busy.

Tracy Tillapaugh

It has changed over the years. New midway which is cool but closed shops like the bakery and pharmacy

Benjamin Smith

Love Fort Edmonton Park and have visited for years, but was underwhelmed by the renovations on opening weekend. The Midway is not really improved, and in fact 3 of the rides were shut down (new Ferris wheel, swings and carousel). The fairground game stalls were open, but also had faulty lanes etc. Strange following such a lengthy closure period to open with all these issues. The new indigenous experience is a nice addition, although I personally found it very difficult to learn much as all of the information is presented in quotation format. The children's playground has gone, which is sad. The pony rides have had a significant price hike. The walkways from the car park to entrance appear very run down, with grass growing through the concrete. Hopefully things will improve with time.

Jack Chambless

This was an amazing place to take our Florida sons to see. It felt like you were transported back to the 1800s with authentic, high quality exhibits, buildings, activities and displays. Don't miss this if you have kids or want to be a kid for little while...

NOK Kareem

I kinda like this store.... The guy at self-service tonight was really great - great customer service from him. Keep it up ????????

Janine Moehrle

This is my favorite place to go with my family. We all look forward to go to this park as many times as we can.

Rhea Lavigne

We had an amazing time. Could have spent 3 days there to "have seen it all." There's so much to learn about Edmonton's history. It really is a great place to go. Just make sure you bring a water bottle, and a pair of good walking shoes. If you do get the chance, you want to talk to as many of the in character staff to find out extra fun information details about the history of Fort Edmonton. 100% going back next year

Dies Unus

Great experience for the whole family. We even got to see Reverend Rundle perform a wedding ceremony. The IPE was amazing. So much to learn and see.

Andres Tenias

Awesome experience. The indigenous expo was amazing. I learned so much!! I will definitely be back and recommend everyone to check it out.

Vanessa Trask

Love Fort Edmonton! The Metis exhibit was fabulous. Sad that the candy store is not there any more. It was my favorite thing as a kid.

Gail Borwick

Christina B.

Fun and educational! Be prepared to spend a long time here checking it all out! ????

Uriel Banegas (Smart value)

Great wedding location! , not from town so was A Great surprise, surrounded by trees and the collection of old buildings including a church , and facilities for reception at the Fort Went end of September so main part was closed to public but sure is worth a full day of exploring

Patrick McNary

Great experience. The hot dogs need an upgrade though ????

Natasa Matosin Grbic

The most interesting place in Edmonton. We learned much about Edmonton history. Tickets are not expensive, stuff is so kind and helpful. We spent 6 hours there.

Warren Rehman

Educational and entertaining. A great place to explore with your family.

AC Frees

In our humble opinion, Fort Edmonton Park is one of the best tourist spots in Edmonton. In the past, we'd always take our (out of country) friends here because we feel proud and want them to experience history. The staff at Fort Edmonton are really friendly and play their roles really well, from their hair & make to their outfit. It's great that the place and everything history there is being preserved and taken care of. We will for sure visit Fort Ed once it re-opens and safe to go. Take care everyone

Shawna Hallworth

I love the special events Fort Edmonton holds. I have gone multiple times and still see new things. Great for families or couples. Be forewarned it is a lot of walking.

Marjo LTD

One of the best experience for the kids & adults to experience the past to appreciate the history, tradition and culture, to take care of the future.

Aolelagi Riise

Tons to see, learn, and eat! Great fun time just be sure to bring comfy shoes! It will take you hours to get through it, I'm sure if you do not care for history or to wait for rides or food and just want to look at everything then maybe it would take you 4hrs. If you want the full experience I recommend getting there right at open or prior(use washrooms, get everyone ready-snacked up/hydrated) ???? and plan to stay there all day! Bring a stroller or wagon as there is tons of walking, for real, it's a town inside a city it's crazy haha. There is a train cart bus trolley that can take you to different platforms so you do not have to walk, however you must wear a mask. Overall great time, and good clean fun! (= Definitely a place to go hangout as a family!

Blair Norton

A nice place to spend the day with family, lots of walking to do, lots to see; many of the people working there are dressed and act the part of the early settlers.

Lori Da Costa

Well worth the visit, unfortunately a lot of attractions were not open. The indigenous exhibit was so good!!! I am so proud to be Metis!!!! I would go back again! Love the history!!! Well done!!

Nathan Kawulka

The horse-cart ride was pretty good. Also, the indigenous experience was very good! Seems like most things are closed in shoulder season here, but maybe now that winter has arrived, then we'll see some more activity down here!

Angela Wall

Started the day at fort edmonton park after the long anticipated wait for it to be open. Me and my boyfriend were excited to get there and start are day, upon arrival we were already lenient as the entrance changed from the old style building of walking through the train station and the smell of the wood. We wait patiently in line to get onto to the old engine steam train and made are way back to see the fort first. We put the fort on a slight hold to check out the new indigenous people’s experience. The building was huge… but the inside was not it is basically solid line that you walk straight with minimal artifacts. More lighting and air conditioned building then the experience itself, you are not allowed any cameras in this building as well. Exiting we went over to the fort where we met one actor, and watched a small rally between guests and actors, exiting the fort we made are way down to 1805. The 1805 street what I remember use to be the busiest street at fort Edmonton park with the bakery’s, the wagon rides and the hustle of the street. This has gone down hill, the bakery is now closed along with many other shops along the street this is the same for 1905 street with only the saloon and the hall to get food to be open. Making are way down past the fire hall and the capital theatre to find out the cute little mini golf course and the old checker board were closed and the board gone. As you made your way past to the hanger you, we realized the old wood pathway you would not be walking on a paved sidewalk it really took away from the old feeling of the fort. The midway was next, they changed a lot to the midway including the Ferris wheel, the first one when they brought to the park was one where the a actor would crank it. It is now bigger but a machine there is not one single actor on the midway absolutely no music at all, and everything isn’t far off from the kdays or galaxy land, And the very last is the entrance the gift shop and cafe are like the zoo, the park has lost of the magic back from when I was kid. They charge full price $26.00 a person to see the disappointment that it is. Fort Edmonton park is not a attraction I enjoy anymore. With its new modern flavour and over priced food.

Joelle Hansen

Went as a kid for a school trip and loved it. Recently visited with a friend from BC as the ticket price was waaaay cheaper than galaxy land or Waterpark. It was fun and enjoyable to learn more about Alberta's history and being able to go into the old buildings was great too. Obviously with covid not everything was open yet all the staff and interpreters were all extremely friendly. On the side note, I did miss the old gift shop thats no longer. Overall a good stop while visiting.

Kevin Yelich, Kaizen

The newly renovated Fort Edmonton Park is absolutely amazing. I'm glad I purchased a season pass, there is so much to explore!

Habib Nawab

Wow, a full day family picnic, enjoyed lot, a unique experience and absolutely worth it. There is museum, old cars, amusement park, rides, beautiful bridge across the river, a nice trail, big fort and beautiful way to walk and lots of fun. There are places to have picnics, snacks, food or a rest, a lots of great things to see and all the places are busy so be prepared to wait in line for food, specially for the ice cream. 4-D movie was a good experince too. The indigenous center is interesting, staff is well trained. It's really a big park and lots of walking but the good thing is that they have trams and a train going around. I have never seen anything like this, I would recommend this place and we will come next year again.

Tina

One of the best parks in the City at any time of the year, path walks very well maintained

Chantel Gladue

Had a wonderful experience. My family.of four including my 5 month old. The train and staff were so fun! The pony girls were so courteous and kind enough to watch our stroller while we enjoyed a wagon ride, the indigenous experience was knowledgeable however I felt as if the residential school part was a bit grey in terms of describing what happened there however I suppose the facts aren't exactly family friendly. The restaurant can't remember the name, ran out of food last minute so some people were turned away but the cook came out and offered to make us a meal which was delightful. So 5 Stars. They all went above and beyond and I had a wonderful time! ☺

Annette Bierkos

Friendly people, love the train ride. The food was ridiculously expensive

Sarah Oddoye

Great day out with the family. I love that you can bring your own food and drinks as well as purchase food there..

A P

This place is over price and feels cheap. Lots of construction and close things. I wont be going here again. Also bring your own food if you dont want to wait 45m in line.

Erin Miller

This is seriously my favorite place in all of Edmonton. From the entrance, you take a steamtrain back in time to the old fort. Each Street on the way back to the entrance is a different era in Edmonton history. Everything on each street is period specific, including whatever the reenactors are doing. When we were there, there was a wedding happening on every street! There is a hotel you can stay at, multiple restaurants, a petting zoo. One day is never enough!

Klint Kolach

It was really fun. Went on the ferris wheel, and swings. They had a walk in maze and old time carnival games. They've added a lot since last time I was there. Definitely worth checking out

K Leigh

Went to their special event “Dark”. It was very well run, not too crowded even though it was a Sold Out night. The 3 ‘adventures’ are fun. Overall it was a quite enjoyable and cudos to all the staff including entry checkers for being friendly and helpful!

Heath Niles

Love it there nice to see all of the upgrades that they did

Alexander Yaskowich

Fantastic historical park with all kinds of things to see and do. Many things all put together for a very reasonable price. Plenty of places to eat if you get hungry or thirsty.

Amie Kozmeniuk

Have loved Fort Edmonton Park as long as I can remember! It's my favorite place to be. However the new design is very disappointing as well as disgusted by the unisex bathrooms.

Shannon Sabbah

Always a fabulous time! Kids loved the train (no suprise). It was nice to teach them about the history of the city and walk around and talk to the kind, well educated, period correct employees. Very enjoyable way to spend the day!

Shane D

Went to DARK here this day, it was a great time. Lots to do and many haunts to get some scares out of!

Jay Tee

It's a very nice place to take your kids. Fin for adults as well. Very educational as well as entertaining. Really takes you back to how life was before all the automation and technology we live with today.

Dylan Bohaychuk

When you visit a historical village, one thing you hope to see is authenticity. Fort Edmonton's ability to immerse yourself in the world of the past is...a thing of the past nowadays. Modern fixtures and infrastructure litter the streets of 1905 and 1885 making it hard to picture the area as an example of past living. Oh boy do those folks back in 1905 and 1920 love their concrete sidewalks and modern grass boulevard landscaping! And what innovative thinking on the part of Edmontonians in 1920 to use 2020 trolley car electric poles! As Immersive as modern red fire hydrants can be in the late 1800s, Fort Edmonton has steadily gone downhill over the past decade or two. The once popular bakery of years past stands full of empty shelves, historical detailing has been removed from the train cars and some shops, and even the old time advertisement signs on the pharmacy and around the aircraft hanger have seen much less faded days. Don't get me wrong, The midway has greatly improved since the 2020 renovations, the Capitol Theatre still retains its fancy look, and there has been some work done on the fort replacing worn wooden supports, but it seems all their latest funding only goes to the "new" things, and not to upkeeping the old. Several times I could point out to my group about rotting window trims or cracking paint on the walls. Weeds run rampant in 1905, and the now out of place Ultra-modern entrance renders the train station virtually abandoned. Want to visit the Gyro Park Playground for the old equipment there? You'll walk away with disappointed kids as those have since been removed. Final verdict: Calgary's Heritage Park. Spend your money there, where new or fun things don't come at the cost of an immersive experience. Fort Edmonton's corporate present is fun until you notice its a showcase of the gimmicky new, at the expense of the beloved old.

NY FAN

A must see place for you or your family, lots of historical sites. Fort is amazing. Lots of walking required, being comfy shoes.

Duy Nguyen

This place is gigantic. LOTS of things to do and our kids had a lot of fun at the amusement park there. I do wish things were a bit closer though. We couldnt manage to visit 1/3 of the site since we were in a rush, and different sections of the park were quite far away. Good thing is that they had trams and a train going around

Daniella Cordero

Went to the Dark event for Halloween. Place is spooky at night. Excited to go back in the summer. Great place to learn a lot about Edmonton history.

farid khan

It was a nice and lovely experience. Great exposure to the life of indigenous people

milly nataway-harvey

Loved this place first Tim visited I am from Ontario thank you beautiful spot

Carl Rosenfeldt

The new indigenous exhibit is amazing. I might get a better understanding after 2 or 7 more visits

Megan N

Wonderful experience. Expect to spend a full day!

jayfer 72

Very intriguing look at the past...loved the antiques and the people in character...fun way to spend the afternoon petting animals, riding the rail car, park rides and the train all for the cost of admission was well worth it

Jerminal P

Take a train back in time to experience the early days of Edmonton. Great theme park.

Jess Stang

They did a great job with the renos, my girls were intrigued and loved it and asked so many questions not realizing how much fun they were having learning. The free carnival games were awesome. Ferris wheel and older kid swing ride wasnt up yet and train was out of service but I hear that wont be for long. We left very happy, satisfied and educated.

Keith Wright

Glad to have the park open again. Great job on the renovations and improvements.

Ashley Harrold

Such a fantastic family fun place to go. So much to do and see. I go there frequently and still learn something new each time I go. Staff are always friendly and informative. Lots of cool things to see.

Lunar Designs

My family of 17 and I came at 5 pm when the place was about to close. The ticket lady was super nice and we were able to see the first mosque which is a sentimental moment for us all. If management ends up reading this, please thank whoever was working the ticket booth on Aug 28 around 5. Super memorable moment and we enjoyed every second. Thank you again for letting us see such an important piece of our identity ????

Gailynne Vrolyk

Was a fun day with the family! Plus amazing food! The brisket and the pretzel at the Kelly saloon and the ice cream was the best! Can’t wait to come back for a brunch one day! The information from all the different times very educational and all the animals were a hit with the kids as well as the fair! Plus cant forget the popcorn, cotton candy and the Train car # 3 was in the move Assassination of Jessie James!

Amy Mukherjee

Great fun for kids and adults! You can easily spend the whole day there.

Tryphina Aviles

Fun experience lots of things to see. Free train ride. Adorable animals. Best experience for kids

Rayberry

We were here 10 years ago and recently went back after the 2 year renovations. Wonderful displays and very informative.

Sandra Adrian

This is AMAZING!! Fort Edmonton Park was a great experience. The new indigenous site, here was worth the price of admissions in itself. The food there was awesome. The acting from the staff was OK. I must say, that we probably would have experienced more of the staffs involvement, and parts of the midway, if the air quality wasn't so bad due to the fires in B.C. This is a great place to take those wanting to know about our history...... my husband and I loved it????. You definitely need to do a 6 hour tour to see it all????

hussamhafez1

Candy shop refused to exchange an item while I was still at the cashier!!! I told her it contains an ingredient that I can’t consume. She replied” you should have read the ingredients before you bought it”! Also, I waited at the theatre for 20 min.’s for the next show as I was told by the person in charge! After waiting as he requested, he said” we’re closed now”! Denying that he told us to wait !!!! Very weird staff! I don’t recommend it at all.

Trevor Kooyman

It's a great living museum that we spent hours exploring. I absolutely loved my experience. I will tell everybody to check out the cinema, the experience left me absolutely flabbergasted.

Agustin Gutierrez

So beautiful. Amazing. Wonderful. I love it

Mish S1977

Went for the Christmas Market...Fort Edmonton staff were handling ticketing and checking vaccinations. This took way too long. More than 30 minutes in a lineup even though we had pre paid tickets....very disorganized. The Market was nice and the vendors were excellent...just annoyed at how long it took to get in.

Singsing587 Marty

i liked it and would recommend it to every one

Jackie A

This used to be one of my favourite places. Now, there are rampant historical inaccuracies. I can't look past them. A lot of the stores and bakery are closed. It's lost its magic and that makes me unbelievably sad. I won't be going again for quite some time.

Erin Blatkewicz

It was a lot of fun! We went on July 16th. If you are wanting rides for older kids, wait a couple weeks. The swings will be in operation then. The larger merry-go-round will not be in operation for quite a while. The sanitizer removes the paint. The new Indigenous Experience exhibit was well done.

Nick B

Great place to go. Lots to see and do. Cute little midway.

MM

Kool place. Take a Covid lockdown break and visit this place.

Kirby L

I love Fort Edmonton park! I've been taking my son since he was born almost (12 years), friends, relatives, and our company.. I find the park so relaxing and calming. There are so many things to see, and do at the park. We have never done the whole park in one day! We have stayed at the Hotel overnight, and gave had many delicious meals there. Our pictures taken at Browns, a wedding at the barn, and shows at the theater! I always buy passes so we can enjoy multiple visits! Looking forward to the reopening this summer! Easy to get to location and tons of free parking!

Arek Smykot

The best time ever! We loved the any new options for food and drinks along the way. They do an amazing job here. So much fun. Our 4 year daughter loved it.

Sandy L

Wedding reception SEP 13/19, what a fantastic facility for a wedding!! It was in the hangar where doors CLD B opened to an asphalt pad and grassy area, inside was Very spacious as well had an area upstairs. The 2 main people that were there as we were setting up decorations the day before as well as running the "show" at the wedding reception could not be MORE HELPFUL and COURTEOUS if they tried!! They offered us pitchers of ice water, while we were setting up, taking chairs, bringing chairs, etc. Very good meal as well! Perfect place for a wedding- we didn't even have to move tables or chairs for the dance! I think there were around 180 people all seated at round tables. Very Nice!!

Wendy Hudson

Great place, had a really good day. Fun

Forest Littke

I went to Grandview stairs

Ron Kushniruk

Make sure to check if half the park is closed before traveling there. The workers sit in one spot wear mask. Not much interaction anymore. So many experiences had in the past was fun and educational.

ES

Note that it is VERY busy on weekends and you may wait for hours and not get in. It also closes after labour day. Otherwise the facility is unreal! The updates to the park are incredible: the rides, indigenous experience and the increased staff make this a truly remarkable family experience. We felt welcome and had fun at every turn. You can easily spend an entire day there.

Brad Huising

Fort Edmonton used to be very interactive. Shops used to sell period correct confectionery and baking. I would say at 1/4 of the buildings were closed. The train and the new indigenous building are solid but I’m not sure it’s worth the 100$ for a family of 4 to go see.

P B

The indigenous experience was excellent. The speakers made that exhibit memorable and impactful. The rest of the park was a huge let down. We had a timed ticket but the park was way too crowded to enjoy anything. There were no covid protocols in place whatsoever. I contact FE with my concerns and they did not have the decency to reply. I would not return.

Liz Psiurski

A great day and loved the renovations! A definite go see even for young ones, Mines 2 and she had a blast ❤

Rosie

If this picture tells a billion stories, Dene matter ????

Magizhvendan Sekar

Nice day to be with family and learn Edmonton's history and enjoy. They did an excellent job in preserving Fort Edmonton. Worth a visit.

Grant Michetti

I bought tickets online for my family today and arrived early but the parking lot was completely full. We drove around for over an hour in circles and got stuck multiple times. We eventually gave up and went home to find out the tickets are non refundable. Shame on this place for not giving refunds.

Samantha Gould

1st time going after living here for so long . I cant wait to come back next year . You seriously shouldn't miss out on it . The staff stays in character and the work they put into their character is nothing short of amazing.

Felix-Antoine Rollin

My travel guide told me it was worth the detour... Well, the 100$ family ticket was worth every penny, because everything inside is included... train ride, carnival.... Not too crowded, and staff quite knowledgeable and entertaining, makes it so much more interesting. Good way to teach history to kids.... The concessions are good and inexpensive. We loved the fort section as we found it to be the most impressive... yet everything is interesting. I think the historic side makes it more fun than West Edmonton mall... there's a real steam train.... Enjoy! Ps. Make sure to book the entire day as it takes quite a bit of time to visit each building... yet my 5 year-old walked the entire thing...

Brennan Barsaalou

It always nice to see how we(people) have advanced through time by visiting different time periods. Even if it was not an honorable way of obtaining land. The renovation definitely made it more family fun.

Gunnar Blodgett

Still waiting for the multi-year contactor gold mine to actually resolve into a rebuilt historic site. Can walk around it but the contractors have unsurprisingly gated off a lot of road access.

Joanna Sarauer

On July 10th, we went there for a 10 year olds birthday, with out of town relatives. We had all been there before. The rides for her age were all shut down. The fort is delapitated. Most of the historical artifacts were gone now. The staff were pleasant, but were ill informed. Selkirk was closed. Many of the businesses that were staffed were turned into displays that were roped off, including the much missed Bulletin press. Cement sidewalks were out of place. There was a lack of park staff that was obvious, especially in the midway area. People wanted to be entertained, but instead went to an outdoor museum with no meaning or explanations. Overall this was a huge disappointment and I would not go back. The Fort Edmonton that used to be is gone. Now its like viewing empty buildings with no context. Plus the landscaping looked abandoned, noxious weeds and all. The only part we enjoyed was the train and the conductor was well spoken and friendly.

ken smith

Usually love fort edmonton park. Go there every year except for last 3 during renovations. So i took the family, i wasnt very impressed. Enjoyed the new indigenous area but looks like the money was mostly spent on the fair. Which im dissapointed in. I love the history and wish they would have done more there with buildings etc. Not to mention some of the plaques for the houses and buildings were missing. Maybe they are not finished but felt unsatisfied for what we payed.

Debbie Wallis

A very nice day. Kids enjoyed the carnival section and the train the most

Ray Théberge

Disappointed that the carrousel was not working, very nice. Be prepared for lots of waiting

Joanne Robinson

So nice to be able ti gi again!! Great renovations

Kyle Graves

The new Indigenous Peoples Experience is incredible and very well done. A fun day for the family.

K Melnychuk

Amazing as always. Very happy it is open again. Enjoyed the changes!

Sharon Secondcost

Love fort Edmonton Park! So many great adventures and things to see. It's definitely an all day visit. We were there the entire day and didn't get to see everything we wanted! Hate all the wasps though. Seems like a never ending problem! Other then that, fun times!

Rick Klassen

Great place lots of things to do and explore,Yummy food in hotel Selkirk which you can rent rooms out still.Very cool easy to spend a day there with family.

Sarah Supernault

The really enjoyed the new attractions! The food was great, they serve local beer and cider which was awesome as well. Fun family day, one of the better places I’ve been with the family in the city, lots to see and do. Would recommend!

Carmen Chamney

As politely as possible, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. While it is somewhat rich in culture, the fact that this summer’s grand re-opening is advertising upgrades and more attractions is a far stretch. Understandably, they are down staff with covid… but half of the stores and shops/ little buildings were locked and closed. There were Very few actors around and each shop was so dusty and unorganized, I’m sorry Fort Edmonton park, but just because it’s a historical building doesn’t mean people in the past didn’t keep it in tip too shape, this park is in serious need of cleaning. Being indigenous, while I appreciated the new centre and all the information it had to offer… I found that the new building only being able to read and watch holograms was not a culturally immersive experience, this could have been done in a different way outside showing how indigenous people lived off the land, practicing their customs! On top of that, the Ferris-wheel was closed all day :(. Having been there when all of the actors where in each building years ago, this was definitely not the same experience and quite frankly, lame.

Rob Burns

Always amazing. Kids love the free amusement park at the end. My Mother In Law hadn't been in over 20 years and she loved it just as much today as all those years ago. The new Indigenous experience was very exciting. It was interactive and all inclusive. It expressed how we need to co exist in harmony. It was a very refreshing experience compared to other exhibits that are rife with negativity. An exceptionally positive experience.

Emra Brenner

The new indigenous center is amazingly build and beautifully presented. I highly recommend visiting!

Sindy Cowan

There were a lot of washrooms that were out of order. More notification would have been nice.

danielle m

Dark 2021 was a huge disappointment this year. Don't get me wrong we were very happy that dark came back in person this year however, I thought they would come back with a bang. This year there were way less actors which could've been due to Covid, however there seemed to be more security staff then actors in the haunts and their bright yellow vests and red batons directing you where to go really took from the creepy atmosphere they use to have. they could've at least dressed up or been hidden. they also crowded different groups together so you would see a scare well in advance of you getting up there leaving nothing to happen for your group except someone standing there looking at you not knowing what to do. the acting was done pretty poorly this year as well. food and drink were ridiculously expensive with the ticket system making you spend more money then you normally would if they just had tap and pay which is way less contact then tickets anyways. Half the park was closed off which also contributed to a lack of eerie Halloween feel without the old town. the event largely appeared to be focused on the big top with the Midway which was honestly the best part. we really enjoyed the Midway games. I really hope the downfalls this year were only due to Covid and this wont keep being repeated because we really use to love coming to Dark every year!

Kanzas

Went here for Dark this year! I thought the Haunted Houses themselves were imaginative and a great time. However the 50-60 min wait time for each one of them only to walk through them in 10 mins was a huge let down. Especially when it’s very cold outside. For not only the cost of the entrance ticket, but also the food tickets, they should have let in approx. 200 less people, especially with the pandemic going on. There was absolutely no social distancing waiting in line to get in, which itself also took about 50 mins. I do appreciate that they checked immunization records however. Overall, I thought it was a fun experience but would not do it again based on cost/wait time. Both were outrageous.

Mithun Haque

I have learned lots of things about the indigenous people by visiting this place, I kept on reading and reading, they always put mother nature before anything - a true way to live.

Cindy Donaldson

Well. Due to air quality most everything was closed. It did not make much sense. No penny arcade, midway, no pony rides! For being closed for three years and spending 3 billion dollars on a renovation we really could not see where the money went. The train conductors were great though.

Felina Tan

A hidden gem in Edmonton for sure! Lots to see and explore. Perfect for families. My favorites were the newly added Indigenous section-a very modern mini museum and also the Fort! Plenty of space to spread out. Kudos to the dress-up staffs there, makes the whole thing more real. The train was super impressive, and I mean by just looking/hearing it etc without having to actually sit inside! (had a stroller so did not ride on the train).

Louise Kemper

Loved it! People were out in costume, they even put on a wedding! The only thing I didn't like is the new entrance part with the cafe and gift shop. Disappointed in what was in the gift shop,(almost nothing) And no food available in the cafe! So if.yoy.go be sure to eat on the site rather then rely on their cafe!

Ben

A hidden gem, it's inspirational the hard work and effort that goes into making something this good. It has a real working steam train you can ride, enjoy the period fairground or ride the streetcars. There are multiple historical periods beautifuly done that you can go into with volunteers you can interact with. Honestly this place is truly excellent and it will be hard to enjoy the whole thing in one day. One price at the door and you can do almost all the attractions. I recommend season pass so your not rushed.

M Nikolai

I love coming here for the history! This is an incredible living and breathing historic museum! There is definitely something for everyone from history to shopping. I love how the volunteers are always in character and stick true to the time era they are representing. I can hardly wait untill it reopens and I can visit again!! ????????

N Cousins

I have gone to Fort Edmonton for years! I was excited to see the changes this year. A little disappointed. Not like it used to be. And the Indigenous centre looks out of place. Way too modern looking. It is beautiful inside and well done, but the outside could maybe have been done a little more like the rest of the park. Go early, parking is hard to find.

Regan K

It is a lovely place to spend the day. I was disappointed to see that there almost no historical actors when compared to previous years. For the later time periods there is info to read beside each building. There is nothing at the old fort area which is a bummer if you want to learn. The Indigenous Peoples Experience building is absolutely beautiful! Overall it is a good time at the park. Make sure to dress for the weather and where shoes for walking! I will go again next summer, hopefully more buildings will be open (and more actors).

Feyi Iks

Nice tourist attraction. It's like a village on It's own and you get to know the historical things about Edmonton.

Clinton Elias

Been here years ago and loved it, awesome. This year however, with all the so called upgrades, I can't see where all the money went. $160M + where did they bury 130M cause I can't see it. Waste of money.

Mike Huibers

Fort Edmonton Park is truly blast from the past!! Everything from the Indigenous People's Experience to the Fort to 1905 and 1920 street are so well done. The people Manning the park do such a great job staying in character. They make the whole experience awesome!!

Irshad Khan

Great experience. Loved how the historical buildings have been restored to original form

Petabyte Data

Brought admission online for a specific time entry, arrived on time and there were absolutely no parking available, the overflow parking, street parking were all full. This is the WROST park management company in North America

Nataliya Lubich

Amazing!!! A wonderful trip to the last centuries! Super friendly staff, nice street car and steam train that take you around the park. People who work there are dressed up like in the past years. They explain you how everything worked. You can see pictures from the past. You can see how children studied. Not only you can see it but your kids can experience it, too! Thus you get involved in this and this is an awesome feeling! Thank you Fort Edmonton Park's workers for such an amazing day! Will definitely come back!

Zenovia Moroz

I know Fort Edmonton is a great place to go however, I just checked admission and there is no way I can afford to take my granddaughter as entry would cost almost $50 for the two of us. Too bad it's cost prohibitive for those on reduced or limited income who also do not qualify for any type of discount.

Emily Craig

Fort edmonton Park Dark was amazing!

Nadine Jackson (Dini)

The parts of it that were open were great. Lots of stuff still not open, but I assume the other places will open soon. There could be some landscaping done, but I assume also, that will happen in time. The fish tacos and everything else we ordered at the restaurant, were amazing!!

Fritz Levesque

Great place to spend the day in Edmonton. The new indigenous center is excellent!

Scott Garner

I bought a seasons pass and looked forward to the park re-opening. - Be prepared to walk and walk before you see anything. - 50% of the venues are closed. - One (1) food truck by the rides. Carousel is not working this year. No music in the carnival area. - Lack of shade. - Staff are not unaware of locations of other parts of the park. - Indigenous interpretive center is fantastic! The organizers need to make changes immediately!

Jennifer Gano

A little expensive, but definitely a fun thing to do for the season! Three haunted houses, a maze, games, food and drinks to purchase, fire pits set up to warm up.

Chasity Stokes

There's so much to see, learn, and eat! It'll be a great time.

Johnny Choi

A fun trip for kids and a new perspective as an adult. The park is set up beautifully and is great for a full day. Like a museum it's a look into the history of Edmonton. Would definitely recommend for a nice day trip.

SUSAN Lapointe

Was a lot of fun. It wasn't all open. But we walked for miles.

Laura Burton

We really enjoyed that this year we didnt have to pay anything extra for the midway. The kids still really enjoyed it without having to shovel out more money. Wish more of the places could have been open but it's understandable with covid restrictions. Only real complaint was trying to get food. We waited almost an hr just to get French fries.

Lee Foreman

Great day at the christmas market.

Louise D

Very Disappointing !! Your visit starts with a mile walk from parking to the Gates. It will cost two adults $85.00 to enter. There’s no music, no fanfare, no sense of Fun. The Arcade games are pitiful and lame. The young staff are very bossy instead of very friendly!! We waited for 45 minutes to ride the Ferris Wheel for 5 rotations!! Four Administrative Staff Members stared at the line and the wheel and chatted with one another the entire time we were there. Why wouldn’t they canvass the folks waiting and get some feedback instead of standing around doing nothing?!? I had to leave my $1000. handbag on the pavement unattended while on the ride. Are you kidding me??? What? ???? ???? No explanation given to this RULE!?!?!? There are so Many rules !!!! We Took the Street Car to Main Street. The driver was insulting the Locomotive Train Operators throughout our trip making snide remarks about how the train pollutes the air and uses McDonald’s used fryer grease to fuel the Train!?! Really? So ignorant. He sounded Jealous. Lol ???? Got food at the Masonic Temple. Ordered two smoked brisket sandwiches and waffle fries. It cost ???? us a whopping $31.00. No drinks. Bring your own Food. The Brisket & Bun were both dry and cold and literally tasted like smoke. Disgusting ????. The fries were old greasy and cold. Threw it all away . We tried finding many spots to visit. Many are CLOSED despite charging full price to get in. None of the staff really know where anything is or whether its Open or Closed. It’s an absolute mess and sad ???? excuse for a Tourist Attraction. This used to be a fantastic venue to spend the day. Be prepared to walk very long distances to and from anywhere leading to nowhere. You’ll meet disgruntled ???? visitors on every path you get lost on. Big giant thumbs down ???? ????

himanshu lath

It's different, awesome feeling , very good place to spend a day there . I would recommend to go with family and friends you will have lots of fun , take some snacks though you can buy there also and wear comfortable clothes and shoes . Try to arrive early so you will have enough time to enjoy , it's open till 5pm. I had great time and good memories.

Dan D

Good place to walk with the family. Kids love the steam train and ferris wheel.

Drone360 Imagery

Beautiful place to take the kids on the weekends. Long walks and rides. Learn about history at Fort Edmonton Park. It offers a variety of options so you can create your own unique experience, time after time. From stories that matter to midway fun to spending time with those you love, Fort Edmonton Park has it all.

Trevor Anderson

Having recently moved to Edmonton, I decided to purchase two seasons passes to the newly renovated Fort Edmonton Park. I obtained the tickets for my first visit quite easily, however, the promised access code to book subsequent visits has not arrived and I got a recording saying their mailbox was full when I tried to call about getting tickets for this weekend. At this point I have no way of using my passes. I would caution others about the season pass processes. Also, although I found the staff/volunteers to be welcoming etc., the park itself was clearly not ready for the grand opening. Several attractions such as the ferris wheel were closed or not running which was disappointing.

crighton flaska

Great place to learn about local Edmonton history. Fun for the whole family. I recommend the fort to both new and long time residents of Edmonton.

Glen Gillis

Park was good. Could use a bit more groundwork as there were a lot of weeds around. Workers were friendly and nice. Train worked good and the grandson loved the train ride. Maybe a bit more signage on the displays in the Fort saying what each rooms purpose. Example eating area for people in those days or where they lived. Lots to see we will be back. Indigenous building was very nice. Interesting for sure. This we will view in depth again. Good job.

I have been coming to Fort Edmonton for 35+ years and in the past has enjoyed it everytime. Decided to bring my granddaughter to share the history that I always enjoyed, but was sooo very disappointed to see so much closed up and not running. No pony rides, no ferris wheel running, no actors, no playground, etc. Thought the fair would be a highlight, that was a joke too. 3 rides that's it! Took my granddaughter on the swings and she wanted to ride again by herself. As I was exiting I asked if she could ride alone, they made her get back in line to wait and be told she was 1/4 inch too short. She went to go on the merry-go-round. I was asked how much she weighed. They had her stand on the scale, 50 pounds exactly, was told she could ride this time but no more. The other ride was for yet smaller children. DON'T BE FOOLED BY ALL THE RIDES BEING INCLUDED IN THE ADMISSION!! WON'T BE BACK!

We went to the winter Christmas market. Spent more time finding a place to park and lining up for tickets then we did inside. I would describe this market as STINK, STANK, STUNK. Additional traffic control and ticket staff to process tickets would have made this experience much better than just waiting in lines for 45min. No point in pre-purchasing your ticket either, you wait in the same line as everyone else.

Excellent place to visit. A great place to take your family and friends.

This was amazing to see and enjoy . Love the new exhibit and traveling back in time.

Love what they have done with the place! Recent reno's and additions defiantly make this a must see - plan on a whole day and wear good footwear. I'd give it a 5, but many of the exhibits have stairs/steps with steps that are too high, and most stairs/steps do not have handrails. That makes it tough for people that have compromised or painful mobility to see everything. Other than that, very enjoyable and educational.

Well worth the entrance fee good value and a good way to spend a day with the family. Something for everyone.

It doesn't really matter what I thought of it but my daughter had an awesome time. If I had a criticism it takes a really long time to get any food when it's busy
