The 2014 Venza I purchased last winter is the second car I bought from Ken Shaw Toyota. The original purchase was a Highlander which is still going - a 2003 model. A few minor issues came up with the Venza and they were handled so professionally by the Ken Shaw team. So, professionalism is easy. However, courtesy, respect and attention to customer service are tricky. Dealing with Paul Shaw in administration, Jason Mac William in service and Teresa at service reception was an absolute pleasure. I will buy my next car there without hesitation.

Got my Toyota repaired at this body shop one month ago. After I picked up my car I realized they forgot to do the wheel alignment (caused by the accident but they didn't notice this issue) so I had to go back on another day to get it fixed, which caused some inconvenience for me. But overall it's a good experience. Staff are friendly. The repair is very efficient and of high quality.

Purchased a 2010 used Corolla from Ron Vernon who checked in throughout the process and monitored the detailing and mechanical checkout of the vehicle. Ron was quite attentive and said he would keep an eye out for a set of winter tires to go with the car, post-sale. He is a no-nonsense kind of guy and endeavoured to go the extra mile to address some cosmetic issues and did his best, reminding us we were purchasing an 11-year-old vehicle, to get the vehicle to us in as ship-shape condition as he could. When I visited the shop, I didn't have any intention of buying a car but because of the Warm reception I got from the personnel, I purchased my first car in Canada. Been going here for years and they always had exceptional service except a visit in summer 2017. My car wasn't starting and when I took it to them they charge me $40 to check the charging system. They found no issues and said if it happens again get the car towed here. The car didn't start a week later so I did what they said and had it towed there only to be told I have to pay $60 to do a more thorough check. I refused to pay because im thinking what the hell did they check when I paid $40?? Actually got I to a heated conversation with one of the front desk employees who wouldn't look at my car without charging me. Eventually A senior mechanic quickly looked my car and in 2 mins seen I had a cracked terminal leading to my battery. In the end they realized it was their junior mechanics mistake and charged me $60 for the terminal and offered a free oil change. New renovations look good and welcoming. Went back for the an alignment and I have to admit they did an amazing job. I was even served by the employee who I was having a heated conversation with in 2017 but he was very pleasant this time and gave frequent updates of what they found and why its taking a little longer than usual.

I just brought home my new car:) From the initial contact with Mark McGrath via email to the moment Michael Naraine handed me my car keys, I can say how happy and satisfied I was with the service provided at this dealership. When is the best time to buy a car? When you are financially ready....but when your old car breaks down during a pandemic you find yourself scrambling and worrying, not so much the best time... All of those worries were taken away after my first visit to the showroom. Covid-19 protocols were clearly communicated, enforced, and respected. Michael showed me the cars within my budget and explained all the features while asking what needs I had. Mark set up the sale and clearly explained everything to me. It had been 10 years since I had purchased a car and I remember that experience being confusing and I didn't feel a 'part of the process'. Ken Shaw Toyota as many other workshop tend to charge you for anything that you don’t request. You want to replace the battery add an inspection of the car ($158). You wanted a “Safety Certificate” your won’t “pass” unless you spend another thousand bucks. Parts are very expensive one costing $6200 for a 4Runner. However, the service will deliver your car quickly.

I purchased my first Toyota at another dealership and I purchased my second at Ken Shaw Toyota. There was a world of difference between these two dealerships. Ken Shaw Toyota showed me how a customer should be treated when purchasing a vehicle. First my sales associate was the most knowledgeable person when it came to cars. Not just Toyota cars but what the competition had. He could answer any question that you threw at him. He arranged the test drives, worked out all the details, you couldn't ask for anything more. Once I picked up the vehicle the customer service didn't stop, like it did at the first dealership. My sales advisor showed me every feature of the car and how to set it up to my preferences. He showed me where every control was located, so I didn't have to look for them. If I have a question I can call or email and I get a response same day. You might be thinking it is just a car but these new hybrids with computerized systems, there is a learning curve and they helped me with that. If I have to say just one thing it would be, they understand customer service. This is something that seems to have been forgotten by many businesses. Truly outstanding here. I also encourage you to go to their after sale seminars they offer. You will learn about who you are buying your car from and the service they can provide. This is a family run dealership and I like to support independent businesses. My experience has been nothing short of exemplary.

I had a pleasant experience buying my Venza from Ken Shaw in 2011 - integrity in the negotiations and excellent service getting the car set up with plates. I have them service the vehicle because of convenient hours, location, and comfortable waiting areas. I can work on my laptop using WIFI and enjoy a complimentary beverage. All routine service since the Toyota vehicle is so reliable. However, with a recent accident, I got to try out the body shop. Nothing but confidence that the repair was going to be well done and quickly since any mechanical work could be done at the same facility. The car was perfect when finished.

Recently brought my car in for an oil change and detailing and the service was great as usual! Everything was clearly explained and the pricing is fair. It's definitely not the most convenient locations for me (approx. 35 to 40 mins away) but it's the quality of service that brings me back here. It's not to say that the other dealers aren't as good or are worse but when you find one that consistently treats you right, it makes up for the longer commute and I think the loyalty is deserved. No doubt!

I had a amazing experience speaking with the receptionist staff - very polite, patient, informative and quick to offer assistance! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! However, it all went south when we met with the salesperson. They couldn't answer any questions about the car; any issues we brought up they just nodded and said "yeah okay"; I was only test driving that day but I was handed the transfer of ownership to sign; despite putting a deposit, I received no information about the status of the safety inspection - I had to text (they didn't pick up for calls) and ask for updates. Oh and, the salesperson didn't even get my name right. It's shocking to me that the salesperson boasted about being a "reputable dealership" and "the Toyota dealership that's been around longest in Toronto"! (I had to wait to post this Google review because I was afraid I wouldn't get my deposit back!)

After looking for my perfect car for well over half a year I finally found it at Ken Shaw Toyota! I submitted an online application for a car last week and received an approval almost instantly. I spoke first with John (who I did not have a pleasure to meet directly) but who was an amazing help. He spoke to me about the car, questions I had and the process which was very informative and important especially during these Covid times. He then passed my information over to Fraser and I went to see the car the same week. First thing to note, there is two seperate locations, one is for the new Toyota cars (I had walked in not realizing the second location) and it had been clean, hand sanitizer at the door and I was happily greeted by the staff who informed me it was actually across the street. I went across to the other location and was greeted by Fraser almost immediately. Instantly I felt comfortable with him and at no point was he pushy (which honestly, dealing with other places I had experienced A Lot). We had some good laughs and good conversation throughout the process which made him feel like a friend and not just a sales person. I took my dream car out for a ride and took it to a parking lot where I did a complete inspection of the car. When I got back and addressed my concerns Fraser easily was able to address them all (and even ordered a new taillight for me as I had noticed some damage on the one that was on the car). They even throughly inspected every chip that had been brought to attention and, ensured to fill them all. I signed the paperwork that day and completed my trade in assessment which I got a fairly good amount considering the condition of my vehicle. Once again I want to point out I was never pushed or never treated negatively (even when bringing up concerns). I scheduled to pickup the car the week after, and also spoke with Zoran (finance) who walked me through the process of financing the car. He was also amazing to deal with, I had a few jokes and laughs with and explained everything throughly and clearly. Plates were changed, keys were received (they even got me a new sticker, because mine had been expired - I blame Corona for that!) and I was on my way.... Until I realized I forgot something in my trade in car (embarrassing) and had to come back where Fraser once again helped me out. The process was smooth, easy and honestly a really good experience. I would suggest anyone looking for a vehicle in the Toronto area to review Ken Shaw Toyota (even look at their dealers reviews on other websites, Fraser AND Zoran have amazing ones!). Thank you all for helping me, I really do appreciate it!!

He was professional, knowledgeable and easy-going, but the problem lies with the interaction I had with the sales manager, Mark McGrath. I was getting a trade-in appraised and did not agree on the price they were offering (stating a 2016 LX Honda Civic with 145,000 kilometers was worth only $9.5K when market comps were in the $15K range) which is fine, dealerships have to make margins and I understand their appraisal process. I was discussing that the market was calling for much higher prices and that I didn’t think that was a fair estimate with the current prices selling online through various channels (Autotrader, marketplace and even other dealership listings) when Mark came in to help negotiate. Mark spend 20 minutes mansplaining how depreciation works, how sentimental value isn’t factored in and made me feel like I was being talked down to the whole time. His comments were incredibly condescending and he treated me like I had never heard of these concepts before. Not only do I thoroughly understand these concepts but he went on to mention that I was going to wait 6 months for the vehicle (I expected this) and that my car would be worth $2.5K less in that time, which is absurd depreciation for a 6 year old popular model like a Civic! He tried to tell me he has doing me a service by offering a “realistic value” so when I go to pick up the car in 6 months it would only drop a small amount from the appraised value. So not only did he completely miss the mark on the conversation where I just simply didn’t agree with his proposed valuation but he gave me a very strong feeling when I came to finally pick up the car he would low ball me on the final appraisal and corner me into accepting an even lower value given the strong demand for vehicles in today’s market. Mark was heavy handed in assuming I didn’t do any research and talked to me like a woman wouldn’t know how the car industry works. He insulted me in assuming I have no knowledge of the market, stated bogus “grimy salesman” tactics (“Cars depreciate $2.5K every 6 months on average!”) and also gave me very bad feelings of the potential poor business practices being conducted at this Toyota dealership. I would suggest you do as I did and purchase a car elsewhere, where you will get a better price for your vehicle and better customer service!

Went to Ken Shaw with an offer I got from another dealership to see if they'd like to make a competitive offer for a new vehicle. I was told that offer was "fishy" and that I must be misunderstanding their offer or at least not getting the whole picture. In return I was shown a demo vehicle of the same model as their offer. The vehicle was not cleaned or detailed and had 8500km on it. This offer was more expensive than the brand new vehicle I had been looking at at the other dealership. I was told that when I picked it up when it was detailed I'd forget it was ever a demo. If you want me to forget it was ever a demo, don't show it to me dirty. Not a good sales tactic. I left and purchased at the other dealership where the offer, after all fees and charges were included, was the exact price I went to Ken Shaw with the compare. I'm very happy I did not purchase my vehicle from this dealership.

First car salesman (Ron) I spoke to wanted me to go to the dealership to negotiate in person. I reminded him that there's a global pandemic and it would be safer for myself and everyone at the dealership if we negotiated over the phone. He declined and said that's not the dealerships policy. When I asked to speak to the manager about this policy, he refused to transfer me over and accused me of playing games. The next day, he called me to tell me about another car claiming it was similar to the first one I was interested in. I said I wasn't interested and then he promptly reminded me that the other one I was interested in is still available. I didn't appreciate the shady sales tactic and told him I wasn't interested anymore. After about a month, the dealership lowered the price on the car twice. This time I reached out to the used cars sale manager directly. He put me in touch with someone and we got the deal done over e-mail and a few phone calls. It's a shame I didn't get a chance to deal with her from the beginning. This would have been a 5 star review for sure. I do not consent to be contacted by the dealership. Do not contact me.

Over a year ago I had some repair work done at Ken Shaw Collision. I noticed soon after that the right front fender liner that was repaired was not attached properly. I told myself that I would have to come in to have that fixed again. However, the same weekend, it started falling off and was then only held in place by a tiny piece of plastic. It was interfering with the operation of that wheel, so as I was driving at the time, I had no choice but to pull it off. Then, rather coincidentally and unfortunately, I had a slight collision with a patch of snow in a parking lot, and damaged the bumper and the front. I came in to have an estimate done, which was done by someone who decided that he had to be extremely rude to me. His name is Lawrence Dimtriev. After discussion with him and the manager of the Collision Centre John Bennett, and then with the General Manager of Ken Shaw Toyota Danny Jamal, it was decided that because of the faulty previous repair work, that when I brought my car in to fix the new damage, Ken Shaw would waive my deductible and that there would be no time limit for bringing my car in. In January of this year I came into Ken Shaw Collision to ask about having my car repaired. I had with me an estimate done by my insurance company’s required mechanic. I spoke with Mr Downer, the assistant manager. He said Ken Shaw would order the parts required. I mentioned that because of my job, emailing me was better than calling. Then I waited. Nobody called me. Nobody emailed me. I called, and was told someone would call me back. Nothing happened. So, I emailed the Collision Centre, and I was ignored. Then I came into the shop to talk in person, and was told someone would get back to me. Nobody got back to me. So, I went into Ken Shaw again. I met with John Bennett, Lawrence Dimtriev and Mr. Downer. They then told me that nobody had promised me to waive this deductible. I pointed out to Mr. Bennett that I had his card, and that it was him and Mr Jamal who had made this promise to me. He said that they had never made any such promise. The next day Danny Jamal called me and told me that he had also never promised to waive my deductible. So, I was lied to twice by the General Manager of Ken Shaw Toyota: once in person when he promised to waive my deductible, a promise he had no intention of keeping, and again on the phone when he claimed that he had never made any promise to me. So, if you wish to be ripped off and lied to, Ken Shaw Toyota is the place for you. If you want to deal with honest people who don’t lie to your face, then I would not recommend going to Ken Shaw. I will buy a Toyota again in future, but I will never again visit the completely dishonest team at Ken Shaw. I will say that the one bright spot in all of this dishonesty is Nelson, the evening Service Manager. He always provided me with honest and professional service, and I’m sad that I have to leave him behind. Thanks, Nelson. Goodbye, Ken Shaw.

Got my paint pen here a few days agp, the folks at the parts area were kind and curtious. I am planning to get more parts in the coming years from these folks at this dealership. Great people behind the desk. Show room floor, have someone who is willing to show the customer what you offer. The person I saw was not even willing to talk at all and read off the paper (which I could). He mentions "I am willing to help if you want to buy a car now, otherwise there is no point of me talking to you" kind of vibe and speech. Perhaps offer a customer a brochure or pamphlet so they are more aware of what you offer. Kind of sucks as a first time potential customer being put off by an uninterested sales person.

He was extremely helpful, providing us with information we required e.g., cost and features of different models. Of course, it goes without saying that car dealerships try to maximise their profits - we would've liked to see a higher trade in value but what we got was our minimum acceptable trade in value and we were ultimately happy to make the purchase. Matthew dealt with all of our pre delivery concerns without hesitation and in a very friendly manner. Although I did not purchase my car from this location, I have come to this location for service checks. My partner did in fact buy his 86 from this location, and my car is the same frs model. My first check was a horrible customer service experience. We booked online a week in advance to ensure my partner and I had our slot because we both needed to book time off work to come into the service centre. They could not find our time slots and blamed us for not doing our due diligence, despite us showing our email confirmation and automatic email reminders to them. They made a great deal saying how they are doing a favour for us for squeezing us in. Fast forward to my partner getting into an accident and bringing it in to repair. They decided over charged him and provided poor poor service. They decided to contact him after a google survey that he filled out about service and provided a partial refund for the service and parts that they over charged. Due to this gesture we decided to come back to have my partner's car checked as he was having horrible battery issues. I decided to try one more time for a service as I was in need for one. They stated that my partner's battery was completely okay, yet stated that mine needed to be replaced. We asked to check if they mixed up the cars, considering my partner's car had to be boosted 4 times in the past 3 months. (the car is only 2.5 years old) My partner then noticed a discrepancy between his past service ticket and the current one. The service person at the desk, stated that the person who worked on the past service no longer works with the company and was trying to scam us. It is extremely questionable that a person who works at the company stating at a past employee was scamming us. This makes us questions the integrity of the company as a whole. I do not write poor reviews lightly. But the consistent poor customer service, questionable mechanic work and inconsistency between staff have driven myself and my partner away from this location. We have both had multiple family members and friends purchase and service at this location, and we can no longer confidently recommend this location. If you are looking for a great service location, please do not come here. There is better out there.

We purchased several (4) cars from Ken Shaw. Usually the service is great. The last car was a 2014 Matrix - we also purchased the extended warranty, which was set to expire on Mar 31 2021. Brought the car in and said something was wrong with the transmission on Mar 10. Service tech said "cannot duplicate customer's complaint". Within 2 months (only 115,000 km on it) I needed a new transmission at a cost of $2800. Best offer I got from Jason the service manager was a $400 service credit. Most likely will not be using it and will not be going back. Too bad - was looking to purchase a Tacoma within the next year.

I am not one to leave reviews, however I feel it is needed so that Ken Shaw Lexus can improve. Today I went to pick up my lexus from the service dept. and after paying a bill of over $3000.00 I was told by the Service agent that assisted me that the vehicle was on the side of the building. I couldn't find it ANYWHERE. I was pressing the panic button and it was not locating the vehicle. I searched and searched and I was finally able to find it at the other side of the parking lot. What I don't understand is that if Service is aware a customer is coming to pick up their vehicle, why is is not easily accessible to the customer?? Customer Service in the Service Dept. really needs to be improved.

I've brought my car to Ken Shaw Body parts as the bumper of my Toyota Matrix was hit accidentally. A nice lady named Alex Leith assisted me & evaluated the damage & prepared the quote. She explained everything that needs to be done & which parts needs to be changed. Since I am not really familiar on those car parts, we went back to my car & showed me the actual parts & damage. As I need to have a rental car, she mentioned that they have a rent-a-car on the facility & walk with me for assistance. I came to pick up my fixed car & she walked with me on the cold weather outside to showed me where it's parked. All in all, it was a great customer service. Although getting an insurance here in Canada is a mission, Ron and Rick Walter (finance manager) have been very patient to wait for my autoinsurance to get fixed so they can register my car. I call them many times and they are quick in returning and answering all my questions. The pre approval for loan was super easy and fast. Recently purchased an SUV from Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota. After a rocky start, I spoke with Paul Shaw directly on the advise of someone. I was told Paul or Ken would take care of my situation. True to form, I emailed Ken Shaw on a Sunday evening, as I planned on going into the dealership Monday to state my case. Paul Shaw got a hold of me Sunday night, and after a few phone calls took care of everything until I was satisfied. Throughout it all he continued that level of service, emailing me back after hours, when he should have been having dinner with his family or enjoying time with them. Having dealt with Used car dealerships before, I had a negative outlook about them to begin with, so it wasn't surprising to me that I had to fight for what I thought I paid for. Paul took care of it from start to finish and quashed any of those stigmas that are usually associated with Used car dealerships. Other names to mention were Michele from Lexus New Car side and Kevin from the Used car side. Both did an excellent job taking care of me as well! Many thanks go out to them both. Michele took me out for the initial test drive and was even courteous enough to not talk when she noticed I was trying to listen for possible sounds from the engine, trim etc. That in itself is rare! In the past, I've had to ask salespeople to not talk so I could conduct the on-road test. I recommend Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota to anyone for the quality we all know Toyota to have and for their level of service to their customers needs. Go Talk to Michele if you're in the market for a new vehicle, and Kevin if you're looking for a "new to you vehicle"!

That is pure incompetence. 104$ in labour charges for a 10 minute job. Hire new technicians. I am a mechanic and after speaking to the mechanic (David Bates) who worked on her car he started to insult me and say I should have been there to do the job for her. No sir you should have just have done your job and done it properly and not take advantage of women. UPDATE I called a few other Toyota dealerships in the area and they don't even charge labour for bulb replacement. Pure harrasment to my friend very unhappy with service received

Kevin sold me a Mini Cooper a few weeks ago and I was very satisfied with his service. The most important thing is he is not pushy, he doesn't try to rush you into a sale, he's not one of those typical car salesmen that are breathing down your neck. He gives you the space you need to think and decide because it is a significant decision and he respects that. He knows when to back off but he doesn't disappear either, he is always right there when you need him and he goes above and beyond. I was running hours late to pick up my car because I had an exam that day and then there was gridlock traffic afterwards. Kevin stayed behind much later than he needed to to wait for me and he gave me no grief about it even though he was late for a dinner because of me. He also followed up exactly one week later to make sure everything was okay. His approach in my opinion models what a good car salesman should be.

No one likes car shopping. It's even worse when you are replacing a car after an accident. Fraser and Anwar were friendly and professional while they worked to help me get back on the road. Even though it was the last place I wanted to be they helped me get a great deal on a Camry that runs like a dream. Fraser went through all of the included costs making everything transparent and clear. Answered all the questions that my father and I had. When I picked up the car it was detailed to like new and purred like a kitten. When I later called to ask about something I did not understand about the car, Fraser took my questions seriously and found a time that was convenient for me to bring the car in. The gentleman who received my car (I have misplaced his card) was super nice and explained to me that they could not find anything wrong with the car but explained what they thought it was. He also gave me all of his contact information and advised me that I could bring it back at anytime if I had any issues at all. Free of charge. He was correct, it turned out that an alert in the Camry worked differently than in my old Lexus so the car was fine. In a situation where he could have made me feel like an idiot he was kind and patient. I would definitely recommend Ken Shaw Toyota to anyone for their fantastic, friendly professional service.

Towing was dispatched right away and was taken care of. What to do with insurance, Lisa took care ALL of it. Now, these initial impressions will not be worth anything if the work was unsatisfactory. After a timeline that was discussed, they delivered my wife's car with a quality above and beyond excellent. It was a pearl white, and I know how difficult it is to match the colour with the whole car. Even cleaned my interior, full 4 wheel alignment and rust proof without me asking. AMAZING RESULTS. I am (Re) writing this months after, and you will not find even small imperfections on the area worked at. Still good as new. Quality paint was used, quality work was done. High end results. We had the pleasure of working with Alex Del Rio; a knowledgeable, patient, and personable sales associate. Update December 29, 2020: The reason I went at the Ken Shaw Toyota in the first place is because "good" reviews on Google, big mistake (everybody should read negative reviews first and then other reviews and then read between the lines). After I brought the car from Ken Shaw Toyota and after waiting 2 weeks for the new tires installation at the Costco tire shop I was told nothing can be done because the lock nut didn't come with the key which was part of safety (un)done. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and went in and checked the gloves box, compartment by the shifter/cup holder, trunk, under the spare tire and it really wasn't there. I lost my long waited appointment on a critically snowy day. I wouldn't mind to buy the key but when I called Toyota I was told I would have to wait long time to get the key as it's unique for every car. Just imagine what would happen if you had to change the tire on the road in the middle of nowhere in a blizzard without something that was part of the "safety". I would deal with Kevin again (the salesperson) anywhere he goes but I unfortunately I would not come back to the same dealership. "Sorry" won't help me, I just wanted to warn other potential buyers that they shouldn't trust the words "so many years in business" but they have rely on their knowledge and to check EVERY SINGLE DETAIL from proper ads to picking the vehicle up. We met Kevin Morvaridi at the used dealer lot and I can say everything was a 5 star from there. My daughter wanted a white Rav4 but they were waiting for a new front bumper and we weren't sure when they would get it.So Kevin introduced us to a Silver one instead.This Rav4 was a year newer(2017) and it was cheaper. I got down there and Kevin said to bring it across the street to the collision centre where we met Paul who took care of the problem within a few minutes. We had had poor experiences with dealerships in the past where their reps were either too pushy, or borderline disinterested once they realized we weren't searching for a top of the line model. We came in with our guards up, only to soon realize that this dealership was quite different. The whole staff was very courteous, respectful and functioned well as a unit. There were seamless interactions between the different staff that dealt with us, displaying high levels of organization and communication. However the experience was most enhanced by our sales rep Will Erichsen. The used Nissan Versa Note that we bought from Ken Shaw Toyota was not properly inspected by the salesperson by the name of Bob Mahra on the day of pick up and was given to us with a nail in the tire. The all season tires were supposed to be taken off and winter tires were supposed to be placed. 2009 TOYOTA MATRIX I i bought the car used and the sales gentleman did an excellent job . i was very satisfied. So over the years i tried to do all the recommended services with you but the overcharging kept me away .This week i brought the car for an oil change /air filter and a seat belt recall .10min later i was told that my rear brakes are metal to metal and they had to be changed on the spot [$500] plus some more repairs total $1000. Up selling didn't work and the service adviser lost every interest. when i brought the car for a second opinion the mechanic called me and asked me who told me that i need brakes ? Front and rear pads are 35-40%,I am not a reg customer but after he cleaned them and put back ,free of charge, he asked me to go back after 4-6 months for an inspection.... what do you guys think??? Should i go back? KEN SHAW, Thank you but... NO GOOD FOR ME The 2 stars are for the Gentleman that sold me the car.

Honest Information

Unprofessional the entire sales process. Would not let me take the vehicle I was interested in to a mechanic for a pre inspection. Sales rep Anwar said “90% chance the vehicle needs thousands in repair.” His advice? “buy the car as a final sale, *then* worry about what mechanical condition it’s in.” In every picture the vehicle was in, attached was a sign for “online, express delivery, 100% refund guaranteed.” Just for Anwar to say I had it wrong and they can not honour the online purchase and guaranteed refund. The same guaranteed refund *Ken Shaw Toyota* attached to the picture with the same car I called about and seen on *four* different websites, that has been up for *over a month* and is *still up* as I’m writing this. You can do better than Ken Shaw Toyota.

I had a weird experience at this dealership. I saw a so-called certified used car and called to make enquiries and fixed an appointment to go for a drive test. Arrived and was asked for 3 pieces of ID to take the car for a test drive as the sales advisor could not go with me, due to covid restrictions. I was not informed to come with 3 pieces of id when fixing my appointment. I don't know who walks around with 3 pieces of ID. I told the sales advisor that I had just my drivers license and my health card with me. My drivers license has my all my details and i thought that would be ok. Nope, she collected my license and heath card and then insisted that i give her my bank debit card and that she would make a copy of it. I told her that i had an issue with giving her my bank card. She said, "oh I will give you back the copies after the drive test". I told her that it will very irresponsible of me to give her my bank details and that i was uncomfortable with that. I eventually had to email her the data page of my international passport, which i also had serious issues with, before I was even allowed to view the car. The car itself turned out to be a disappointment as it had a funny loud squeaking noise and the control panel on the passenger side was missing, as in there were actual holes in the car! and it's certified!!! Complete waste of my time.

Exceptional service. The other week my mother was in Toronto for meetings. She came out and her 2005 Toyota Corolla wouldn’t start, she was stranded 200km from home. I googled and called their service department. I spoke to what turned out to be the service manager Jason. He was AWESOME. They were able to get her to the dealership, turned out the starter was finished. They explained what the issue was and presented a couple of ways it could be fixed to me over the phone. I’ll start by saying I have never written about a poor customer experience in my life. I have driven a Toyota for 6 years and have gone in for routine maintenance with over 5 Toyota dealerships in Ontario. When I saw that a Mazda was available at Ken Shaw I was interested as the size and features matched what I was looking for. Upon arrival I was treated nicely and was even given a test drive. I noticed there was obvious damage to the car so I enquired about the history. I was unaware that the vehicle had been involved in three separate accidents (report was available online but I did not see it beforehand) the sales rep continued to show me the car, said it was in good shape, and we could work out a price at the end. When I asked how flexible they were on the price (due to multiple collisions and very limited warranty) he said they weren’t flexible. I said okay, how much would you give me for a trade in as they had appraised my vehicle during my test drive. He said how much do you want? When I said I had been quoted a range of 14-16k for my car on trade in he went to speak to his manager. The sale rep Ernie then came back and tossed my ownership at me, told me I wasn’t even close and refused to tell me the appraisal. I continued to explain if he appraised my car at less than I had thought that was fine I just didn’t have a hard number infront of me so how could I make a final decision? At this point he became very confrontational saying he wasn’t even going to waste his time.. even though he had confirmed my vehicle was being appraised during my test drive. I hope I caught Ernie on a bay day, and to be honest I was going to purchase the car that day. I’m sad to say, after this disrespectful experience I will never be doing business with Ken Shaw Toyota.

I received a recall notice that requires the airbags to be changed. I called the 1800 number and was transferred to Ken Shaw Toyota . The lady on the phone continuously interrupted me . She told me that she needed the full vin number and many other details . She expressed that it would take two to three weeks to get the parts . Feeling unsatisfied I called Scarborough Toyota. The lady on the phone was very friendly, helpful and polite. She only needed the last 8 digits of the vin number and she expressed that parts arrive in two days. I got an appointment for the third day. Even though I live in the West end of the city. I will gladly be a lifetime customer of Scarborough Toyota. It seems that Ken Shaw Toyota prefers to scare away clients when it comes to mandatory (free) service instead of assisting them.

Dropped by the service department asking for help with removing a screw from my license plate that was stuck on so that I could bring it to Service Ontario to be replaced. A technician by the name of Jazz quickly problem solved the logistical issue of the over crowded car lot and brought a power tool out to my vehicle, instead of trying to get my car into the shop. He was able to remove the screw with the tool. Here is where he went above and beyond. He noticed rusting and explained that because the plate was not installed properly, water had gotten behind the area and I was lucky the screw came out. He quickly offered to try and find a new bolt that would fit so that I would be able to re-install the screw once I replaced my license plate. Not only did he come back with a new screw, he had pre-applied an “anti-seizing” agent to the screw to prevent any further difficulties for me once I had left there. His quick thinking, foresight and thoughtfulness demonstrates that Jazz is an incredibly value member of the team. He provided excellent service and I am beyond thankful. Thank you Ken Shaw! I will be back!

They put the service in Service Department. He accommodated our busy schedules by meeting with us late, staying with us until closing and the lights were shutting off, and even spoke with us outside after the dealership had closed to answer any questions, and reviewed the process and what was discussed. Servicing all my cars at Ken Shaw I find the service staff very helpful, and when any extra service is needed they allow ample time for me to decide on how I want to proceed without feeling pressured. Unfortunately, upon closer review of the vehicle, I realize that the vehicle was not properly cleaned... there was dirt under the rugs and, even more shocking, there were scratches on the rims and a huge scratch on the actual vehicle that they tried to cover up with paint. To say the least, I am very dissatisfied and perplexed with the entire situation. I cannot believe the audacity of the salesman who helped us, Jian Qiao, emailing me and saying "I am apologize for the vehicle is not been clean properly and the scratch on the vehicle". Where is the professionalism in this scenario? Where is the outstanding customer service that they pride themselves in?

I was made aware of the Ken Shaw Dealership through The Auto Trader Used Car Cash Quote app. I added all the info including all the problems with the vehicle and the app gave me a quote and the Ken Shaw address. We made arrangements to meet and Anwar was the gentleman who we spoke to. I knew we were not getting the quote Auto Trader gave us but after some negotiations I was happy with the result. Think twice about buying tires from them! I recently needed to purchase tires and found their price to be 20% higher than the quotes received from tire retailers. Although their service department keeps very convenient hours (they are open to midnight Monday through Thursday), this convenience comes at a price. Paul: Thanks for your response. I was surprised by the pricing as well. The other two quotes I received were from local, family owned tire retailers. In fact, I brought a copy of the lower quote into your service department because the advisor had previously indicated that Ken Shaw offered a Price-Match Guarantee. Unfortunately, he was unable to honour the “guarantee”; apparently it only applies to “advertised” prices. Interestingly, he stated that Ken Shaw’s per tire cost exceeded the price quoted me by the other dealer. If Toyota Canada establishes tire prices, the margins must be exceedingly high given Toyota Canada’s purchasing power. The price your dealership quoted was uncompetitive and far from “very aggressive”. Maybe the problem is that Toyota Canada is treating your dealership as a captive customer and using the excessive margins to enhance their profitability.

If there was a zero selection I would pick that; my first service was to get car starter installed was told it take 2hrs ended up waited an extra 2hrs on top. Second time was getting winter tires on. Appointment was for 11:30am, was told 2hr service from the appointment rep. When I came in was told 3hrs. Not bad, car didn’t go in bay till 2:45 got the car back at 3:30pm . Two days later one tire flats out. Got the car towed to ken Shaw and the rep was rude and gave the impression it was my fault the tire was damage. Got to the dealership at 11:30pm; shop closes at 12:00am. As a brand new 2017 Prius owner and sticking with Toyota service would show my loyalty and hoping to get better service but now they put the impression they just want my money and not help me out at all. Wanted another $200 to to replace the tire. Say good by to Toyota. ????????????????????

They called me 4 days later to offer me a free cleaning but my new car experience was completely ruined at that point and I never went back. In all these years, I have had only one Service Advisor, Dave Bates. I first dealt with Dave at the Mississauga Dealership and continued with him when he relocated to the Downtown location and, now at Ken Shaw Toyota. My most recent experience on April 15, 2015 was no exception with Dave and at this location. Other than the fact that I have always been loyal to Toyota products due to their reliability, I am very fortunate to have Dave as my Service Advisor (I have stated this fact many times in my reviews after every service appointment). I continue to reiterate that Dave is thoroughly professional, has a caring and warm disposition, and continues to ensure that I get the best service for my car. He always goes beyond what is required of him to make me feel that I am a valued customer. More importantly, I know I can trust him implicitly and that he would not take advantage of any of his service advisees. At this location (Ken Shaw), I find the lounge waiting area excellent as there are computer work stations, as well as WiFi if you choose to use your own computer. The cafeteria is functional but comfortable, and the food service is of good quality, with a very accommodating "chef". I highly recommend both Dave Bates and Ken Shaw Toyota Service Department.

I have leased my last 3 cars from Ken Shaw Toyota, purchased my most recent vehicle from the pre-owned division and used their service department numerous times. I can't say enough good things, but the main thing to know is that they ACTUALLY care here. Back in December, I was very anxious about purchasing my first ever vehicle and they were very patient with me and took the time to make sure I was absolutely comfortable with everything. Then today when I thought I had something wrong with my brakes on my new car, I brought it in and even though there ended up being nothing wrong, they were so thoughtful and genuine in wanting to help me and ensure I was as happy as possible. Overall, despite being located smack-dab in the middle of the busy city, all of the staff (and I mean ALL of them from the pre-owned salesman to the service assistants to the owner himself!) truly treat you like family and I highly recommend all of their services.

Ken Shaw Toyota is trying to sell an as -is Toyota Echo that is full of rust with huge holes around the underneath even the gas tank was split in half. This vehicle is Very dangerous and should not be sold but crushed.Ken Shaw Toyota states on their web site "We take pride in offering not only the best quality vehicles in Canada" ETC.... Crush this dangerous car do not sell to an unsuspecting buyer. Shame on Ken Shaw Toyota ! How many other dangerous cars have been sold in the past?

So back in December I did not receive the best service on the day of my pick up for my vehicle. A couple of months later, I got in touch with the sales manager and he made sure I got the best service I was suppose to get. He made sure his team took care of my interior shampooing, topped up my oil, buffed out any scratches that were caused by the winter, and changed out my winter tires to all season tires. My car felt brand new once I received it back the next day. I just wanted to thank the staff and to Paul for making sure my car got pampered, before leaving the dealership.

I am quite disappointed in this dealership. Although the woman I dealt with was very friendly and provided good service, literally a few hours after driving the vehicle I purchased from them the engine light came on. I took it to get diagnosed and it turned out to be the transmission, which will cost almost $3000 to replace. I contacted Ken Shaw Toyota to notify them but they basically said there was nothing they could do. I expect they made a profit on the sale and was asking them to meet me half way but they refused. I expected more from a Toyota Dealership and for this reason would not recommend.

Lousy experience when dealing with this dealer. I called ahead to notify that I was going but was still left waiting in the showroom for almost 45 minutes. I have purchased 5 Toyota vehicles in my lifetime and this was hands down the worst dealer that I have the displeasure of dealing with. We did purchase a vehicle a few hours later at a Toyota dealer just north and were treated with more respect and obtained a vehicle at a reasonable price. Look out for the admin fee in the price of the car quote that they try to balloon the price up with. Lousy negotiating tactics. Just be honest with your customers or do us a favor and close your doors.

Recently purchased a new 2019 Prius from Michael Naraine and was very happy with the entire process. Michael helped me learn the car layout and all about the functions of a vehicle. The only thing that i was disappointed with was the dealership did not provide any perks. For a brand new car purchase you would think a dealership would include a couple of free oil changes maybe. If you are spending your hard earned money on a car the dealership should appreciate that and accommodate more to help out a new customer. Overall the experience with the salesperson was great but the dealership management could provide some services in the package.

If its routine maintenance I often have a pleasant wait in the lounge, and if the service needs a longer time period, the shuttle to the subway is very helpful. Beautiful dealership. Clean and nice. I wish customer service was the same. Called them to book an appointment to see and test drive Prius Prime and to evaluate my vehicle. Asked them if we can put numbers together. Got confirmation from Tony. Test drive was set pretty quickly - thank you for this. I asked if it is possible to appraise my vehicle while I'm on a test drive not to waste time after since I have to pick up kids. Answer was yes. After I came from the test drive I found that my vehicle was not appraised since "I haven't signed the form for appraisal". But as soon as I mentioned that I want to compare to Honda Clarity and drive it before I make my decision - sale person pushed my ownership and a key towards me and said that there is a policy in this dealership and they are not going to appraise any trade-ins unless customer is ready to commit. It seems like they were very busy - few service customers and nobody else except me in the sales department.... Very disappointing to see this level of customer service in Toyota Dealership.

I was shopping for a used vehicle and went to a few dealerships before buying at this dealership. Here is why I purchased at Ken Shaw Toyota: The sales rep Kevin was totally honest with me. I will give a few examples of my experience with another dealership - there the sales rept wanted to charge an extra $50 for gas or other "extra" fees (yep, that sales rep blew the deal over $50 and made me lise confidence, while at Ken Shaw there were no extra added fees - the price was clear, plain and simple; another example, at another dealership the advertized price was only if financing is used (because the dealership makes extra money from that) and they upped the price for a cash sale! At Ken Shaw the price for cash was same as financing - no games. He also showed me the service history of vehicle from when it was first sold by his dealership - full disclosure, total honesty. Also, the sales rep Kevin really went beyond the call of duty to make sure I am totally satisfied customer. I can give a few of many examples: he made sure I get ALL the keys - in this case, 3 keys and 2 keyless; also a remote starter and he escorted me to Service to make sure it works properly; touched up a mark on door; and made sure I got a full tank of gas of course at no charge (- see above that another dealership tried to charge $50 fuel fee for less than 1/2 a tank - so beware). These are just a few examples. Kevin also kept in touch by text to make sure the purchase goes smooth and expeditiously, from test drive to drive off the lot, all within one business day. That's why I bought my vehicle at this dealership and not at the others I visited! I strongly recommend this dealership and specifically this sales rep, who exceeded my expectations.

This particular vehicle was priced above market value and asked if I can put an aggressive offer, I immediately felt that he was insulted and made an excuse that he was busy that said he will call back about a technical question I had on the vehicle. He never called back. Very unprofessional! A few days later called back spoke to a guy named Kevin and he was very helpful and even entertained my ridiculous offer. He called back after discussing with his manager. The entire conversation was very professional and easy to deal with Kevin. I am still in the market for a great deal but will never want to deal with this dealership. Overpriced, overall experience is a hit and miss who you deal with at this dealership.

Ensure that you know all the fees you are paying, especially the ones due on delivery, we paid for a fee that we did not know about it; first, we were told that it was a mandatory fee, so we signed the bill of sale; however, it was not exactly this. Be careful, because later, they will say sorry they did not explain it to you adequately, but you will need to pay for it anyway. I bought 2 Toyota vehicles before (another dealer) and never paid for it, so make sure you are aware before signing anything, so you will not feel injured (as I'm now). The car is fantastic, wish I had gone back to my previous dealer.

Had the pleasure of completing a super smooth sale with Tony Lawrence and Kenny Shaw. Initially when I was shopping around I contacted other dealers to see who could offer me the best price. I have a very busy schedule and I'm the type to close on solid deals and not waste my time. There was another dealer that offer me a way better deal after closing, but it's okay the customer service here is TOP NOTCH. I got a hold of Kenny in the morning and he instantly responded back to me. Told him I was going to arrange to come into the dealership. Got referred over to Tony and shout out to him, DEFINITELY THE COOLEST GUY THERE. Sale was straight forward, nothing pushy, knew what I wanted signed the paperwork within the hour, met Kenny, placed the order, 2 months later got my car. Super satisfied, looking to service the car here and possibly a Sienna down the road. Update: I've just approached my first service and came back to have my car worked on. Zoltan took my car in, told me he had to get a hybrid technician to work on it, not a problem left it there and of course I love to explore around the showroom met with my salesperson Tony again, glad he remembers me! Got the shuttle to drive me to my location was told it would take about 1.5 hour for the work. Got a call within the hour work was finish but couldn't pick it up until later. Apparently their service closes at 12am! I didn't pick it up that late but I'm glad they're open (even if it was only 1 day a week) until that time it is very helpful for my schedule.

My husband did the face to face as I had to stay home with the kids. In general all the staff were pleasant to work with. However, the salesperson Shahar we were assigned to was not quite on the ball. The 1st car we were interested in, she told us to come in and test drive so we did and it was in the body shop. So we went home and waited, and waited. We called and found out it was sold! We were so disappointed. Luckily another great listing came up and we bought it. We were told the spot of rust would be fixed, the car would be cleaned and the the bumper clip would be fixed. Upon receiving the used car we purchased, the rust was not fixed properly ( would of rather it was not touched at all as what they did made it worse), the car was still pretty dirty and the only thing cleaned was the weather tech matts that were lathered so much in armaral my feet would slide all over the place. I had to wash off the oil as it was almost dangerous to drive or for my kids who hop in and out of their seats. The bumper clip was never fixed. So, overall, we are happy with the purchase but felt like we kinda slipped through the cracks and were just another sale. I like to give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps with Covid it makes these processes harder but after spending 25g's on a used car we would of appreciated a bit more attention.
