I went to Budget Brake & Muffler in south surrey and had my muffler removed. I was told I could leave it there and pick it up later as it did not fit in my car. After speaking with the shop and letting ADAM know I definitely wanted to keep it, I had come to pick it up and they told me there not sure where it went. Till this day my muffler that's worth over $3500.00 has not been found. WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE.

They just need to train their staff to giver proper information to people when they enter the shop. I felt disappointed and cheated when the receptionist didn't tell about any charges before break inspection but afterwards she asked $55.95 . And i only went their to get the break pads changed but for rear wheels break raptors and pads they charged me $408.28 . Bit pricey but had no choice otherwise i had to pay $55.95 without any reason . Will think twice about recomending them to anyone.

After years of going to dodge to search for a clunk in the front end of my 3500. Codey and Adam diagnosed the problem and had it fixed quickly. They have a saying “we’re not happy until your happy”. Thant can not be more true. There was a little bit of noise left over so I brought the truck back. It was just some minor adjustments and a seized shock. ( which instantly corrected the problem)Which they automatically replaced for me with having the typical drag on of rescheduling. This fact alone was amazing. All the staff there are friendly and greet you warmly. Fantastic customer service. Thank God I found a honest hardworking group of individuals that truly enjoy what they do. Thank you

Bad customer service Rude and conflicting service Got brake changed and after 2 months I was told they are half worn out already. The brakes till date makes screeching sound even though they were new. Took it back and went for test drive with service person named Mohammed or something and he told me he doesn't hear anything, when I could clearly hear the screeching. He told me maybe I have ultrasonic hearing. Haha I mean really?? That's how u talk when I genuinely spent 840$.?? Then had conflicting with him again and the entire service felt very disappoining and disrespectful. Will not go there again and even though my brakes are still ruined, i have no will to show them my problem. Never again!!

After an exhausting search to get my rotors turned I finally talked to Aran at Budget Brake and Muffler. He assured me they could do the job and it wouldn't cost me to much. Fantastic news so I popped the front rotors off raced them up there. They did such a fantastic job and it was such a great environment to be in I decided well I might as well do the back rotors too. Again awesome job. Then driving with my dad I noticed a little something with his brakes so obviously we need to take them up to Adam and Aran to get them turned too. This location is very professional and everyone working has a friendly attitude and a smile. Looking forward to having them build a custom exhaust system for me. 13555 72nd garbage service had an appointment booked for a week for Saturday for a safty drive 35 minutes across the Lower Mainland come in and they say they don't have power lights are all on but they don't have air or hoist or anything nobody bothered to give me a call or let me know before I came in. Finding a place these days to do custom exhaust or even be willing to install anything different then OEM parts, is actually kind of hard. I was turned down by 3 service shops before being directed to Budget Brake. Im grateful for the recommendation. They listened to my requests completely before suggesting parts and took the time to explain what work was going to need to be done and what the cost was. Very happy with my new exhaust system.

Five stars are not enough for this great team! I recently took my car in to have an ominous sounding rattle diagnosed and repaired. It was tricky for the mechanic(s) to figure out what was the exact cause of the problem, and took them some time, numerous road tests, and searching to finally figure it out. And then to top it all off, the only cost to fix my problem was a smile. I was blown away by the generous and honest way I was treated by everyone at this shop and will definitely return at a future date. So, I dont know much about cars, but I know when my brakes start making noise, I should get them fixed. lol. I go to Budget because they are the most honest people on the planet. I've been to other shops, and I swear I've been ripped off and lied to. At Budget, not only did they tell me how much the brake job was going to be ( I was expecting a lot) but they came in under their quote, and pointed out 2 things that weren't necessary to fix right away, but within 3-6 months. I've visited this place a couple of times in the last 2 yrs and had a overall decent experience. Took it for a couple of oil changes; the cars came back running normal with no leaks. Took it for a brake job ( new brake pad/ rotor turned) and found some minor issues. Although braking initially felt fine, the shim eventually slid off for one of the pads and caused braking vibration six months down the road. Secondly they used the wrong grease for the rubber caliper pin bushing. Instead of silicone grease, they used a greenish looking synthetic brake grease which ate away at the rubber and caused one caliper pin to seize up. I just hope they've already looked into these issues and corrected them. Besides that, I found they did use good brand name quality brake pads and the prices were reasonable for the job. I probably recommend them over a place like Canadian Tires, but it's probably better if you know what your car needs and what they are putting in.

I think that it's good for people coming to this page to note that people don't tend to post when they're content or pleased, but rather (most people) will only go out of their way to post on a review site when something goes wrong. ------------------------- That's why I came here today to offset the other couple posts that were on this page. ============================================================== I've been going to John at Budget for servicing of my past 3 vehicles.. no wait.. it's now 4 in total. And I can't tell you how many hundreds of dollars John and his team at Budget have saved me by putting me on notice of things I've neglected or overlooked. Their advice has probably also saved me having a serious breakdown over a few different things I didn't even know were potentially wrong. And it's not just like they told me and I believed them. They literally took me out and showed me the damaged parts - and I've NEVER.. NOT ONCE been given bad advice, or had to take my vehicles to any other mechanic. ============================================================== The other thing I love about this Budget location is that they'll do a free inspection of your problems and (again) show you what's wrong. I would stake my reputation on them being 100% dependable - ALL of the time... and I'm sure the other people that posted here had valid problems, but I've know John for years now, and I can categorically state that if they had gone to him and told him about their woes, he would have addressed them immediately.

This place has changed for the better, from night to day in terms of quality of service since the new owners took over. Husband and wife were both helpful and even brought me my house keys after I left them at the shop, truly above and beyond. Went in for a tire change they had it fixed ASAP. Then brought my wife's car to have her winter tires put on and again they were able to do it the same day, compared to Costco which required an appointment 2 weeks in advance. Ignore the low rating and give the new owners a chance and see for yourselves.

The crew just finished my wife's minivan the other day, charged her 2300.00 for a new strut drive shaft. The crooks could have sold her a new vehicle for that. They've lucky I dont teach them a lesson about taking advantage of people. We could have baught a new vehicle for that price !!!! Doesn't matter how friendly and polite you are, if your not looking for our best intentions. My Father always taught me Fraud is Theft with a smile on the face. I phoned for oil change quote and gave vehicle make and model. Quoted price was $55.00. When I picked it up they charged $75.00 +++. They said it took 5quarts and a special filter. They nshould have known this when I gave them the make and model.Does not make customer very happy when prices are changed after the fact.

Very honest and a very personable person , he asked about my family asked what I did for a living made me feel very comfortable and took me step-by-step through the costs and the procedures on how they would do the job I needed to get done .He also helped out with the cost . It’s hard to find a mechanic that does that . So I would recommend him to any and all of my friends and family . I had problems with my car trunk, as it would not close. I called and spoke to Mason, who asked me to bring the car in the morning next day, as he was closing now. Next day I went to the shop. Mason came out had a look at the lock mechanism of the trunk. He fixed it in no time and there was no charge. I have never seen anything like this in Surrey. Please keep up the good work. I used to have the car oil change at a very reputable place which is dealing with a car insurance ,home insurance, travel insurance, auto repair service and more. I have been their member for a long long time. After the oil change (Jun/2020) I was told that my car needs some repair jobs and to change two rear tires. I had no idea about my car has a lot of problems. He gave me five pages of the list(the repair works and the cost.) Estimated $886. My car is very old but she was very good condition and never had any problems so far. I was so scared and changed 4tires immediately at the deferent place. After that I’ve decided to have a second opinion about my car repair from the Budget Break and Muffler White Rock. Then I was told that my car doesn’t need to repair any from that repair List ???????? I was so shocked and stunned. I still don’t understand why that auto services suggested that ❓❓ Probably I am a woman and totally ignorant about cars. At the budget and muffler, When I asked Adam that my car’s engine belt is a little bit noisy. Then they checked it out and fixed it and they didn’t charge anything for looked up from the repair list. They said your car is nothing wrong???? At the break and muffler, Adam, Jesse, Aran, those whom I talked to with at that time are very kind, warm, honest and professional people. I am very happy to know that there are such wonderful people in this difficult times. From now on, I will always check my car up there and will fix it up there and will continue to ride my cute car for the rest of my life, I hope ???? We are new to the area, all the positive reviews lead us here but unfortunately I had opposite experience with Budge Brake and Muffler in White rock location. In conclusion, I think I lost trust in their works which for me, is everything. Engine light and feeling of engine misfire. Thought it was No.4 Coil since it did have problems before or possible PCM/ECM(more scary scenario). Brought the car here and explained the symptoms and asked them to do a diagnosis. They said "No.4 Coil" had a problem but it was fine now but suggested to change PCV hose because it was "cheaper" to replace PCV hose than coils. Back on the road for another 50 kms. Problems come back worse to a point that it lost power to climb. Couldn't book them until Monday because they were very busy. We brought the car to our old burnaby mechanic for a check. Our old mechanic immediately said from the computer, it was No.6 coil which is causing problems. Then spent 40 mins check 4,5,6 coils one by one to identify No.6 was the problem. Since he didn't have coils in stock, he suggested us an online place to order cheaper. At the same time, wire the coil connector outside and switched No.5 and No.6 coils. Somehow made it work. As usual, my mechanic didn't charge me anything. Now Remember, the bad coil is in No.5 instead of No.6 now although the computer recorded error is still No.6. Ok, my dad drives to white rock Monday appointment for a second opinion. They said after a "Careful, detailed" diagnosis, they are sure it is No.6 coil which is bad. Wait, first, did you tell me in the past weekend it was No.4 because I said it was No.4? Second, I switched No.5 and No.6. So if anything, they should let me know No.5 coil is bad instead of No.6 or they were just relying on computers code. Since I ordered the coil already, I told them to put it together and I would let them install the coil once it arrived. Before my dad left, they charged $62 for "Checking fee". Ok, this is enough. My car was not fixed the first time after spending couple hundreds there(After the repair, I checked the symptom when PCV is not working, not a fit to my situation, not even close. don't know how they come up with the diagnosis. Unfortunately I have no way to verify after replacement whether my PCV hose is in fact worn out). Second, they didn't do a good job there diagnosing the problem. If you can only read computer code to diagnosis, then you are not a mechanic, not to mention the first time, their diagnosis is incorrect. Over the years, I have not been charged with "Checking fee" in several mechanics I have been to, especially for this kind of work done. maybe I showed my disappointment already so they know this is the last pieces they could get from me. Again, their service is great. Great sales pitch, very attentive and listened in details what you were thinking and make you feel a million bucks by confirming and reassure you your problem will go away with their magic, and showing care by "FIX" your problem with cheap opinions, which might end up spending way more money and still feel happy about it. That's a skill. I assume that approach works for some people. If you replace everything one by one, I am sure all the problems will go away. Just not for someone here who liked to take initiatives to actually verify their check.

Terrible customer service and thieves!! Id give minus 1000 stars if I could.My jeep was brought in for an alignment but something was seized so they werent able to do it. They did however adjust my steering which we did not even ask them to do. This is something that could have easily been done in my driveway. THEN he charges me 150 dollars for an alignment he didn't even do and when my bf asked why he said because it's a 500,000 dollar lift and we have to charge people when we use it. Ok cool charge me for that but not for an alignment you never even did. THEN when he was told he was being very rude he said we weren't good customers. My mind is completely blown. I will never ever go to another budget again and I will let everyone I know not to go either. My hard earned money is better spent somewhere that will actually provide a service and appreciate the fact that I have chosen to use their business. Just appalled! Shame on you!

Well I have been having my car serviced with Budget for the last 6 years and everything has been good up till now. I had a complete brake job done at the cost of 1644.00. I picked up my car at the end of the day and it had a strange noise coming from it, but once I revved the motor up it went away. Drove home and parked overnight. The noise was still there so thought I will drop by Budget to see what was going on.The next thing I noticed was the brakes felt mushy. I drove a little further and the pedal went to the floor,I was doing 25 mph!!! With no brakes!!!! Didn,t hit any cars or people THANK GOD Finally got it stopped and walked home shaking all the way. What a great place to do business. I was super impressed. I called in one evening just to ask a few questions and to get a quote, when another shop had quoted me quite a high amount. Mike reassured me and said that he didn't think it would cost that much to fix and to come down in the next morning and he would be happy to take a look. I have had 2 experiences with this place. The first time, they put new brakes on my son's car. The next day, the muffler came apart underneath but the Manager who was filling in, quickly got us in and fixed it at no charge. The second time, my son needed new tires for his car, this was on a Saturday. Mason quickly called around and got us the best price and the car was ready about 2 hours later. I am so happy that I have found this place and will not be going anywhere else.

Had a BAD EXPERIENCE the second time going, will not go back. I know needed new bushings. I had my car inspected free of charge, which is Not normally done at Budget, but after 2 hours leaving my baby with them I was told theres more than $2100.00 DOLLARS needed in repair..... excuse me.... I declined but driving my car after leaving the lot, there were funny sounds and noises coming from my car. Metal scratching... great that's what you get for trusting your local car mechanic. My problem before was a bumpy ride after leaving Budget I now have internal problems within the car. I don't even know what they did but they definitely intentionally tampered with my car. My granddaughter had hit a rock and her car was making a weird noise afterwards. She was going to be returning to Kelowna and was concerned the car might break down. Her grandfather took it here to be looked at. They were getting ready to close but put it on the hoist and took a quick look to find that the exhaust pipe was slightly bent and assured him that although they would not be able to fix it before she returned that she would have no issue driving it back to Kelowna for repairs. The fact that they took the time on a busy Saturday of a long weekend to ensure she could safely return home shows a business that values the safety of their customers. This will be the first place we go when our own vehicles need service.

Trusted this location to install my catalytic converter because of the "good" reviews on google, but unfortunately, their service was unacceptable. I had hoped they would solve my exhaust problem, but it became worse. The car was excessively louder than before. I went back the next morning and Mason explained to me how there was an exhaust leak. I told him it was never excessively loud before I took it into the shop and he mentioned how it could have been affected when taking the old catalytic converter off. Currently, my rpms have been lagging and the car rattles whenever I accelerate; this only happened after getting exhaust work at this shop. When I pay good money for a shop to do decent work instead of doing it myself, I would expect it to be done properly. I left this shop very unsatisfied and Mason only made it worse by telling me he would fix it for another $136. This shop is very unprofessional; they refused to fix a mistake caused by one other techs and wasted both my time and money. Do not let the reviews fool you.

I dont drive an expensive car but i am fairly educated on cars. I am a younger girl and most mechanics like to take that to their advantage and this place was certainly one of them. Customer service needs improvement. I brought in my vehicle because i have been hearing grinding noises from my rear right break and were metal on metal. Asked them to take a look at it because i do not have the tools to do that myself. Ive changed breaks, oil, shocks, windows on a few cars and a truck before but no longer have a garage to work on my own vehicle anymore. However, after the check up they told me that 3 of my calipers were seized and that i only had 1 functional break. To top it off they told me that my tires were separating and that my tires were going to "explode any minute" and thats why my steering wheel shakes. I knew my tires were balding and needed new tires but not on the brink of explosion. They then proceeded to say that it would cost me $1500 to fix the calipers. I thought that was outrageous so i claimed to not be able to afford that since christmas is around the corner. They refused to allow me to drive it off when i live right around the corner and that they need to make a report to the police that a dangerous car is on the road for liability reasons in which i felt like they were trying to intimidate me. I said i didnt want to tow it since i literally live across the street. Later on when i told them that i will drive it off and that they can put my car back together they claimed to not have been able to put back the rear right caliper and that i need to fix it with a total of $864 or that ill have to tow my car. In the end i towed my car across the street, got someone in vancouver to fix it. (I wanted them to fix it since it was across the street and not in vancouver). And at the end of the day the mechanic told me that it was 2 calipers that were siezed not 3... And my tires shook not because my tires were separating but because the wheels needed balancing. He fixed all of the issues for $800. If i could give this place a negative 1863 star rating i would. Dont go here if you dont know your car specs. Bunch of theives. Ps- went to lordco thats located right beside them to check up on parts before i went in just to have a basic knowledge on labour cost. You can do the math. Rear Calipers - $126.68 each Rear Rotors - $25.46 each Rear Pads - $66.00 for the set. (Both sides) Front Caliper - $91.00 each Front Rotors - $35.00 each Front Pads - $77.00 for the set (Both Sides)

First off I'd like to say hats off to Mason and the budget brake and muffler team.. i brought my 98 dodge ram to them from abbotsford after hearing great feedback from people. After taking MY TRUCK to several off road shops in abbotsford and langley and several alignment shops the truck never drove straight ive had 4 steering boxes installed new ball joints new tie rod ends new shocks 4 separate alignments two steering pumps... everytime I got my truck back it would have excessive play in the steering wheel and all the other shops would say thats normal thats how they are...... until I brought it to Mason he gave me his word, "I will not let the truck leave from here until driving properly" I heard that several times from other shops, I decided to take his word. Mason kept his word because when I got the truck back it has never ran better he made sure it was done properly and advised on other repairs I should look at in the near future. When I got the alignment report I was shocked to see how out the wheels were. By no means was he pushy or trying to upsell it was a true genuine experience.. i will be going to him for all my repairs on all my vehicle.. A BIG THANKS TO MASON AND HIS TEAM!!!!

Been going here for 6 years and my family has been going here for over 10. They are honest, reliable and very customer friendly. Its come to the point where i trust them 100% when they tell me whats wrong with my cars. They will always try to save you money by only replacing the parted needed and NOT the parts that could be replaced but still have some life left in them. Such as a timing belt, brakes, fluids, etc.. Prices may not be the lowest here, but hey you get what you pay for and here you ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Great and 5 stars Update: The new young mechanic a few months ago is a scammer. We went in for a simple oil change and requested the mechanic that we trust, but instead they insisted that another mechanic do it. We were hesitant. And what should have taken no time at all took 2 hours. He kept finding silly things just trying to make extra money. We were not impressed and didn't fall for any of it. We finally had it when he came back with the radiator cap in hand and said that it fell apart when he took it off. He insisted that we needed a new one and was going to order one in and that he would replace it, and we would have to wait again for the part to come in. I said that we would go to Lordco next door and pick one up and do it ourselves right away. Well good thing Lordco didn't have one in stock, we took the cap from him and popped it back on. That was it! We have had no problems with the cap since and it's been many months since. Their 5 star rating after that has plummetted to a 1. Not impressed with that mechanic trying to scam us. Manager saw and heard him through it all and said nothing. That isn't cool.

Same day I needed emergency exhaust work done they did all they could to fit me into the schedule. Not only did they do exactly what I asked, they even went ahead and repaired and adjusted the rest my exhaust for no charge ( included welding work. ) Priced well and great quality work. I've worked in the auto repair industry and I've seen how some shops try to cheat customers. It was nice to actually have confidence in an auto shop again.

Had them do a muffler install on my Jeep. It was pretty straightforward yet they had my vehicle for half the day so I figured they'd take the time to do it right. Then as I'm driving away after I picked her up I hear this grinding noise. They installed the muffler right up against this bar, it would have been very obvious when installing it that this would happen, especially for a company that only does brakes and mufflers. The result of this grinding was some denting on the pipe and deep scratches. I told them to fix it, and reluctantly they said they'd bend it into place, but ended up "denting" the pipe even more to make it not rub against the bar. Big difference between the two. They should have taken the pipe out, put a new one in if anything, and mandrel bent it properly, but from the looks of it they just left it in place and whacked it with a hammer or something until it "worked". If you do something wrong to begin with, it's not my fault that fixing it is so much more work. That's your problem, not mine. The tech who was doing the work looked absolutely clueless as to what he was supposed to be doing. Great sign. Needless to say it would still hit every time I went over a bump or anything, but eventually I guess the metal warped to accommodate. The muffler was inexpensive but of decent quality since I needed it changed ASAP, and I was planning on replacing the whole system in a couple years anyways, so I just gave up and ate the loss. These guys definitely won't be the ones to install my new system. I basically paid to give someone a C+ for effort. The WORST part though is the owner, John is extremely rude and doesn't know anything about business or customer service. Makes me feel like I'm a hassle for telling them to fix their mistakes, as if it was my fault. Yelled at my dad in front of customers for no reason and even when he answers the phone he sounds like a grumpy prick and never even says hello, just an unstable old man who needs to retire. Business is not his thing. He belongs in the back of the shop and not the front. Hire someone to train you and your techs properly, stay back there and get things done right, let someone else take care of the business side, and maybe people will respect your shop more. I know it's hard to make a good living as a mechanic working for someone else, and having your own shop is pretty much what you're forced to do to, that's life for quite a few trades, but if you'd rather work on cars than run a business, do that then. His daughter who usually works out front is far better at dealing with customers and would be a good businesswoman. Heck, she knows quite a bit about cars too. Let her run the place instead.
