I was travelling from Saint John back to Ontario and had noticed that my steering wheel had been shaking when I accelerated. I looked at car services in the area, and chose Speedy because of their great reviews on Google. I called and made an appointment for the following morning, describing the issues I was having in depth. As I planned on driving to Montreal the next day, I brought the car in first thing in the morning. The person I spoke with was very kind- he told me that I needed my tires aligned, and he was going to do it- but when he lifted the car, it became apparent that I was also in need of new tires. I inquired about how long it would take, and was told that the car would be done by noon, and that I would receive a call. Noon came and went, and I did not receive a phone call. So, I called the shop, and was told that the tires would now be done around 3/4. 4pm came and went and I did not receive a phone call. I called Speedy again- a man picked up the phone and told me that my car was done, and had been finished for a while. Nobody had bothered to call me. I arrived at Speedy to pick up my car, and the person who served me said, "we recommend that you get your tires aligned." I explained my situation, asking why my tires had not been aligned when that was what I had originally came in for. He told me that the machine was broken, and offered no further explanation. I calmly stated that I had originally come in for an alignment, and that I would have gone elsewhere had I been informed of their inability to meet my needs. He did not respond to me, instead just stared blankly at me and handed me my receipt. Besides the man I spoke to when I first came in, the service here was absolutely horrid. I was not called with any updates about my car, nor was I informed when it was completed. Had I known it would have taken 8.5 hours to change a set of tires, without the alignment I had initially gone in for, I would have taken my service elsewhere- but I was not given that option. Due to this delay, I had to pay for a motel when I had had free accommodations waiting for me in Montreal. Regarding the tire alignment, I took my car to the mechanic next door "Legere's Garage" and they had it done in 20 minutes. I would strongly recommend going there for your car needs.

Barry the manager was at the desk and he was very friendly. Changed my oil, offered me upgrades to the package I was getting. They topped up my coolant free of charge and changed my wiper blades for a fee. I was given the wifi password and offered coffee or water. They had a large selection of reads. Overall a very positive experience and I will be back. 6th oil change is free.

I switched from a mechanic I had been using for a long time to Speedy Auto and I have to say I couldn't be happier. Barry is friendly and welcoming plus I never have to wait long for the work to be completed. I always wait for my vehicle during maintenance and find Speedy Auto to be very comfortable; they even offer coffee, books and WiFi while you wait. They are honest about what you need to fix or replace and won't tell you to fix something unnecessarily. Their oil changes come with a check over the whole vehicle with fluid top ups, etc and it comes with roadside assistance for approx 190 days! I'll be recommending this place to everyone and will definitely continue my business with them! 5 stars from me!

Unfortunately had an overall negative experience at Speedy. While Barry and the front office were professional and communicated well, the mechanical service was incredibly disappointing. I brought in my Santa Fe due to a whirring noise in the engine that had started suddenly, increasing when revved. Speedy called me back and let me know that they had diagnosed a water pump failure, and recommended it be fixed immediately and the drive belt be replaced as well (included in the labor). Upon receiving my car back, the whirring noise returned gradually within 10 minutes of driving, and was back at full volume within 30. At this point, I also noticed that the air conditioner was no longer cooling. I returned the car to the shop the next day: the mechanic seemed to not be able to hear or identify the whirring noise, and was insistent that the drive belt and water pump had been replaced correctly. They took in the car again to inspect, and this time concluded that they could not identify where the whirring noise was coming from, and could not identify anything that would cause the AC to fail. I eventually brought my car directly to the Hyundai dealership, where they were able to diagnose in under an hour that the whirring was coming directly from the A/C unit, and required a compressor replacement—in addition, letting me know that the drive belt Speedy replaced less than 6 months ago was worn and required ANOTHER replacement. I'm unsure what led the mechanics at Speedy to replace multiple parts on my car without being able to diagnose the root cause of my problems, but I'm now a significant amount out of pocket without the engine noise being fixed.

We went up to speedy to have brakes fixed i already had bought the rotors and pads still in box speedy refused did not want to put them on the reason we went up there was to fix the muffler so we got there they said they couldn't they replace every brake part on the rear all I bought for speedy was new calibers and pistons we had a donout tire on they charged us $100 to put a used tire on took 3 hours to do the job all said and done the bill came to $800 bucks im never going back there again.

Speedy Saint John is the biz. Recently my family and I were on a road trip to Prince Edward Island when our alternator decided it needed a vacation of its own. This was on a Sunday and the next day was a public holiday, so we were stuck for an extra day in Saint John. (On the bright side, we got to take in New Brunswick Day.) I called up Speedy the first thing next morning and brought the car in without an appointment. After explaining the situation they expedited our repairs and two hours later they had a new one swapped in and us on our way. On the way back we had a completely unrelated issue, conveniently near Saint John, so we swung back in and the guys took a look gratis to make sure the wheels wouldn't fall off before we got home. Top notch service.

I love going to Speedy Auto on City Road because the staff is so pleasant and friendly but most of all, I know I can trust them. If there is a problem I was not aware of, they will show me on my car where the problem is. They are always so helpful. 'Speedy' is the right name for them because their service is done quickly and efficiently. Their pricing is fair. I was warned by them this summer that my battery was low. I never got around to fixing it. A few months later (just like they told me) my car just wouldn't start. I got a boost and headed to Speedy. They took my car in right away, even though the whole thing was my own fault, and had the battery installed within 1/2 hour. They are always helpful. I have been going there with my car for two years now and I would not consider going elsewhere. In the past, I felt like I was being taken advantage of by service stations that repaired my car. Once I could not start my car because the key entrance was locked. They charged me close to $400.00 and today, I have to wiggle the key to get it started. In other words, they did not fix it correctly. They did nothing to compensate me including offering to re-do it.

My car broke down at 4 p.m. on a Friday. I limped in hoping that this garage could help me out. Despite the bad timing and lack of appointment, they checked out my car, clearly explained the repair and had me back on the road, heading home in just over an hour. The owner also made sure that the mechanic took it for a test drive to ensure I was ok for my long drive home and he explained the another longer term issue with my car. I recently had a quote done at Speedy Auto for some exhaust work ; their quote was over a thousand dollars . It sounded high as the customer ahead of me was also given a quote for a thousand dollars for exhaust work as well . I decided to get a second opinion ; so I went to Wonder Muffler....they charged $480 for the exact same work which included two life time warranty mufflers . Not sure about the quality of Speedy Autos work....but their prices were double of what Wonder Muffler charged me . It would be wise to shop around before using Speedy Auto . Buyer Beware !

I called Monday morning for an alignment after replacing my lower control arms on the weekend, and they got me in that day. They were a little worried at first when I mentioned my 4Runner was lifted, but still took it in and aligned it, for a market standard price. In addition to a healthy alignment, they took special care to ensure my steering wheel was straight, and were very friendly at the front desk. The encounter was capped with a handshake from front desk. Considering the amount of alignments I seem to need, Speedy has gained a new customer. Highly recommended.

We've had minor repairs done by this Speedy before in a pinch and we returned when we had a check engine light, and our engine was clearly overheating. The staff at this Speedy were great and booked us for an appointment the same day. Our vehicle needed some major work done before our upcoming MVI and they did it all at the same time. There were other problems with the vehicle that came to light as they took it apart (older vehicle, not surprising). They were prompt to inform us and was honest about the overall price (fair part and labour pricing), as well as the lifespan of the part if left as is. Their honesty, fast turn-around and keeping us up to date with the additional repairs was appreciated. Many thanks again to friendly staff at Speedy Auto!

A week after buying a used car from a dealership in Saint John, it broke down and the dealership would not help out and fix it. So I got it towed to Speedy and within 24 hours they had diagnosed and fixed the issues. When I went to go get my car, they also made sure I was aware of another minor issue that will need to be taken care of in the near future. I've been going to Speedy for a couple years now, and have had great experiences every time. The owner and staff at Speedy are honest people, who are always very thorough when I have any issue with my car.

Went to get a muffler replaced and ended up with a new resonator also. I asked what was wrong with my old resonator and I couldn't get an answer so I asked for my old resonator. They found it and gave it to me....nothing wrong with it (I can send pics of it). They used a reciprocating saw to cut it off on the motor side so then I needed to replace the whole pipe and resonator instead of just ahead of the muffler flange and just replacing 12" of pipe. Ended up costing me an extra $206.99....MAKE SURE YOU GET EXPLICIT DETAILS WHEN DEALING WITH SPEEDY...
