I gave this a LONG time before coming to write this review. months actually. I knew 100% I had break issues. Had my truck at Wards auto body, and they just F;d up my brakes. Refusing at every turn to connect them properly and all ways an excuse why it was so much hassle to fix them. ( I'm paying so what does it matter?) So I take the truck to steel heels. Heard good things. I sat in the waiting room couple of hours one day as The "other place had me with NO front brakes and apparently rigged my back brakes.. After the 2 hour consultation I was given a list of parts a price of 900 and a bit. I didn't blink, I said ok When can i drop it off. Dropped it off when promised, they had it for a day or 2 maybe. When I called them they said, the job needed to be done was NOT the job I was talked about with. In fact it was a entirely different job With a bigger price tag. I said to do it. I need brakes. I was given the reply that Even if they had the parts. They could not do the job. Right at that moment, I had never felt like I ever heard more incompetent speech. I am NOT a mechanic. Worked on my last engine when i was 21. Rebuilt and replaced cylinder walls pistons. I'm a computer hardware tech now. I fix things. I picture myself giving inaccurate information and a price tag on a job. Then telling my clients I was totally off base and You need to go else where because I am not skilled. I was seriously beside myself. Then I got the condescending speech on my behavior. Yeah I was seriously upset. Not cussing, But seriously agitated because the tone in which I was being told about my brakes gave me the impression of a threat if i came to move the truck. And that really stuck in me hard. I hear sideways talk all my life and the conversation was a threat about moving my truck because it was unsafe YES true but it was coming from a defense of me being upset with them for jerking me around. I paid them their wage for work done. ( they could not even find and install a window regulator) I KNOW when this is read by them they KNOW which person I am. I sent a tow truck for my truck. # days later I found a mechanic. He had the truck for 20 minutes and called me and said ALL BRAKE lines needed to be done. ( wards auto body would not do it. Steel Heels danced around it.) I was also told by both I would need the entire ABS unit replaced. Yeah it was in perfect working order. A new brake line KIT for the whole truck was ordered. 2 days later it was installed. The entire job was 800 bucks labor Brake line kit. Fluids. Paid same guys to do my body work I paid wards auto body to do . Passed safety right away. i DO GOOD service on my tech work. I am TIRED of other companies not being held accountable and making clients look like fools. This IS an entire true story. I may of gotten snotty after finding out i could not even pay them their own rate to do a job. It was the misdiagnosis And lack of skill that really got to me. and lastly. that tone.. that tone where you can feel police or p[policy about to be used as a tool or a weapon. Hated that on the back of my kneck. your telling me on one breath You cant fix the truck even with the parts cause you don't have the skill Yet chastisements about moving my truck. Not even considering I am towing it but So quick to give me warnings about its un safeness. Yet.. you cant fix it... I KNOW sideways talk. Others may pretend not to hear it or use it. if there was REAl concern, I could not even get a referral of a competent place from them They refuse to give referrals. Yet don't have a complete skills set to install brake lines. Which I myself have done in my 20s. You think paying a GARAGE would be no brainer.

We highly recommend this place! We were in PEI on vacation for a couple days. Our car broke down the night before heading back home. We called many places the next morning and some were closed (because of a special event) and most had no available appointments to take our car in. We called Steel Heels automotive and they gladly accepted to help us out. They ended up having the part and fixing our car the same day. The service was phenomenal and pleasant. They were in a position to gouge us given our situation but we were charged the standard rates (we even offered to pay more). We highly appreciate your service and help! Thanks again! Next time we break down on vacation we are definitely giving you a call.

We had an check engine light pop up while on a road trip and were worried that would be the end of our trip... Luckily, we found Steel Heels who were one of the only repair shops on the island open because it was a public holiday. They diagnosed the issue but unfortunately, the parts were not able to be sourced from any supplier that day because of the holiday. The next day Steel Heels were supposed to be closed, but AMAZINGLY the mechanic came in especially to fix our car. This completely saved our road trip. They really went above and beyond and we are so grateful. The job was done well and at a great price too. Thanks so much!
