I don't leave many reviews, even when I do have a bad experience. However, I feel compelled to warn people after our experience dealing with their pre-owned sales person, BOB (I took the liberty of changing their name to be respectful). I am not confident after discussing the incident with their sales manager that a similar instance would not occur in the future. We came from Kelowna to look at a pre-owned 2008 Honda Odyssey only to find four significant pieces of damage on the vehicle which were not disclosed over phone, text or email (given multiple conversations). My wife explicitly asked if there was damage on the vehicle as getting around with our six kids is difficult and we didn't want to waste our time; so, I took the afternoon off to watch our kids while my wife went to take a look. Furthermore, we asked if it was an 8-seater and BOB indicated yes (obviously without inspecting the vehicle) -- turns out it didn't have the 8th seat. So, at the last minute BOB had to scramble to find a second-hand, non-matching 8th seat for the van. When I confronted BOB on the phone I got a song and dance about how it's a second hand vehicle (as though every second hand vehicle must have significant damage). Perhaps he missed the point. I don't care of the vehicle is 1 year old or 20 years old: the vehicle should be described accurately to a customer. Besides, there are plenty of vehicles that are 10 years old in great condition! BOB then tried to convince me of his noteworthy ethics by describing how many cars he had sold in the last 35 years -- *really* as though ethics has something to do with bottom line? Also, BOB spent far too much time talking and not enough time listening. A good sales person will spend 70% of the conversation trying to understand the customer and their needs by using their ears -- the one time I talked to him and not my wife, I had to be quite blunt with him as I could hardly get a word in to ask a question. It's this kind of dishonesty, lack of disclosure and lack of proper due diligence on behalf of customers that gives "used car salesmen" a bad name. I rated this two stars instead of one because the sales manager got back to me quickly; he took the time to discuss the incident and topped up our van with gas. As noted above, I am writing the review because I do not feel confident their practices will actually change to better serve future customers following our conversation. Hope this helps! My advice to other customers: don't trust anything from any dealer. Get everything in writing. Demand clarity. You simply cannot trust a dealer have your best interest in mind anymore. It's unfortunate there are so few dealers who esteem being real with customers as I suspect there is a huge business opportunity for one brave enough to value integrity above all else.

Unfortunately Toyota did not have anyone available in the shop however they directed us to the Minute Muffler down the street who were able to help us. Glad to see these people focused on finding solutions. All this was on a Friday afternoon, close to closing time. Very much appreciated by our family. Their service time is extremely disappointing and unsatisfactory. I spent over $2000 in hotels due to Penticton Toyota taking unnecessarily long on a known issue. Typical turnaround time is between same day and 3 days for this service needed, this took over two weeks! There is a frame recall on certain models of Toyota Tacomas, as per Toyota’s VIN checker, my Tacoma qualifies. My local dealership does not do the service anymore, so I had to drive 6 hours to Penticton to have the service done. I called ahead a week in advance (November 26) to book the appointment, so they know that I am coming. When I arrived on Dec 6th, Clint performed an inspection and confirmed my truck is eligible (well, of course it is!). He then informed me that he has to order in the kit. I was under the impression that they had the kit to perform the work and there would be no delay. I waited another week and received no call. On December 14th, I called Penticton Toyota to ask if the kit came in. Yes it came in but they didn’t notify me. They informed me that they could get me in on December 20th, so another week! I told the receptionist that I am from out of town and I need my vehicle. She confirmed it would finished by December 17th. On December 17th I received NO communication. On the 18th, I called and asked for an update. The tech (Jon I believe his name is) said they have not applied the work needed, and it would be done by Monday (December 20th). The work order I received clearly shows to expedite work to have it finished by December 17th as I’m from out of town. I am very disappointed in the turnaround time, and having to spend over $2000 in hotels due to Penticton Toyota taking so long. I wish I would have gone to a different dealership that respected me and my time. Read the other 1 star reviews, this dealership has a pattern of not respecting people’s time and providing terrible service to vehicles.

Great place. I've dealt with them over a decade. My last service, last week, I received a voucher for a free car wash from them. I think that's the first time they've done that for me. I hope that's something they keep doing. I spent about $250 for a fairly minor service, ie: oil, filters, spark plugs, etc, so for them to pony up for a car wash should be a requirement for them. Pleasant people at the counter, reasonably prompt service.

worst experience ever with maintenance service I had an appointment to install running boards on a Friday and at the end of the day they told me that they did not have the tool to install it that I had to leave the car in the diler to finish it on Monday, which never happened and then I had to call because they never communicated with me to tell me it wasn't finished yetIt is not good service, they do not have communication with customers and they treat you as if you were garbage. I called the day before to check if the erreamineta was there because I had to drive from West Kelowna and they told me that if it were, the ciata was also made a month in advance long before the roads were sawn a hundred but someone is lying. My partner and I drove out from Vernon to check out a 2016 Toyota Corolla. We had been looking for a while and wanted to see what Penticton Toyota could offer. Initially the experience was good. The dealer told me “we will have you driving off the lot this afternoon”, and I replied straight up saying “I won’t be taking it home today”. (Since this is my first big purchase, I wanted to think about my decision before committing.) Towards the end of our meeting is when the discomfort began. I told the dealer that I wanted to think about the purchase, but he made it seem like I couldn’t leave without being pre approved for financing or I would have been wasting his time. To summarize it up, it felt like he was being pushy. The dealer made me feel cornered like I had to do what he said or I was wasting his time. Meanwhile my partner and I used our time to drive 1hr and 41 minutes to give the Penticton dealership a try. I’m in my early 20s, and I’m open to advising, but he was straight up condescending. I understand that he has been a sales advisor for however many years, but as the buyer, shouldn’t I be steering the ship to my comfort level? He told me that he’s like a doctor or a dentist, and that you wouldn’t question what the doctor tells you, you would just listen to what he says and do it. It’s too bad because I liked the car. We would have driven back out again to buy the car, but because of the service, I’m going to another dealership to give them my business.

We leased 2 vehicals, venza and a Tacoma. Service department is a waste of time. Day one the oil filter on the venza wasn't installed properly and drained on our clean concrete floors permanently staining it. I've been to service 5 times with my 2016 Tacoma in less than 4 months for squeeking leaf springs. The techs replaced them "finally" but damaged the new springs upon installation. I was told I could go back again for 6x to fix the damage. Techs need training and the service manager does nothing to check quality of the work done. They have lost our business and We have been taking our vehicals to Vernon Toyota where they make sure work is done right the first time. Service makes or breaks a dealership! They can sell all the cars in the world but they can't fix them. Very disappointed with service manager and techs.

First and foremost being friendly and having an understanding of who your customer is and their specific lifestyles goes such a long way in sales. The team really knows how to guide you through what can be a daunting process- into a fun one! I dealt with Ryan on the phone. Who was quite personable and took me through the specifics of financials and assured me of the safety inspection. Having an older car previously that kept needing repair after repair. Within 5 minutes we knew it was a no-brainer if we were going to buy a vehicle we're going to buy it there. From sitting with our product advisor Chris Wood and tying up loose ends with the sales manager Martin longmore the process seemed professional pleasant informing. They were very understanding to our uncertainness about exactly which vehicle we wanted they let us test drive a vehicle overnight which was fantastic. When we finally did decide they went above and beyond to find me what we wanted and with all the pressures of covid and factory slowing downs, they found us a car and got it to us in a timely manner. On delivery day we went into the finance area Ashley was an absolute dream to deal with she was informative about different options made it very easy to pay for the car. Chris then came out and walked us through all the features of the car and I must say we're just over the moon with the service from front to end. The value for my trade-in was more than fair and I loved driving away in a beautifully detailed truck with a full gas tank! To put it in perspective, my last dealing with a different dealership caused me to remove all license plate frames and dealership stickers as I didn't want to be associated with that particular dealer. I will, however, be keeping all the Penticton Toyota stuff on this truck. I also appreciated the amazing service and support staff at Penticton Toyota - keep up the great work everyone!

I see they have tried to say there is more to the situation, there is not. Everything here is correct and as described. They did call this morning saying they've done what they could to make the situation better. I want nothing more to do with Penticton Toyota. They claim the $800 loss is because we had the vehicle for 1 month while they tried to fix the problem. Terrible experience over all. I purchased a 2014 RaV4. Immediately it was blowing all kinds of dust out of the vents, I thought maybe it’ll go away, so I waited a bit, it started making me wheezy and get nose bleeds. They cleaned the vents out 2 times. Which did not work. They tried to make it right by buying my rav4 back, for an $800 loss to me, then charged me $300 for a key for that vehicle , but would not refund the amount for the key when we bought another vehicle from them to replace the rav4 they sold us a month earlier. If I did not return the rav4 with the $300 key I paid for, they would give me less back for the rav4. Even though they did not sell me the rav4 with 2 keys. So I lost over $1300 because they sold me a rav4 with bad vents. It was blowing dust. I am mostly upset they would not even consider getting a new key cut for the newer vehicle we paid for. Charged $200 for a warranty I never used. Bad sales team. Bad customer service. They act all nice until it comes time to actually make the sale. Would not recommend to anyone. Awful experience, I will not return if I do not need to. I refuse to pay another $300 for a key, after I had just done so one month earlier. Do not go there for any vehicle purchase, used or new. They will rip you off left right and center.

I have previously went to this dealership for service for years with Tacomas I used to have. The service department deserves at least a 3 star for what they do. However, after dealing with the sales department over the past few months I could not have been more disappointed. We were looking for a 2014-2016 4Runner. The vehicles we were either quite beat up or severely overpriced. Even the beat up one was overpriced. I am surprised a dealership wouldn’t take more time to fix up the vehicles a little more. Every time we met with sales they tried convince us to lease a new vehicle . They kept pushing this even though we said many times we did not want to lease as we wished to pay cash for the vehicle, and did not want to go above our budget. Our decision to never go back to this dealership was made after we finally saw a vehicle that met our needs and tried to make an offer. Despite the vehicle being overpriced vs market (according to Car Gurus and other sites) they would not move at all on the inflated price. The same day as we were negotiating they decided to wholesale the car to another dealer in Penticton without contacting us at all. I cannot understand this process. Since this experience we have had dealings with a few other dealerships and the experience was vastly improved. We settled on a new vehicle recently and could not be happier. My advice is to pass this place by and look elsewhere. The price and service will be so much better. We really like to support locally, but unfortunately it looks like they try to take advantage of lower competition in the area.

I have texted him at 1:27 am and he responded as soon as he was able to. There are few things I would like to suggest to improve: I have been asked three times to add service packages which I believe not needed. I requested to include all my costs in the lease but I did not get satisfactory response on why it can not be included in my lease payment and I ended up paying over $450 upfront. Additionally, I had to pay the first payment of the lease upfront which was also pretty hasty instead of setting up a payment time in a day or two. Overall my experience is satisfactory and I commend sales manager, Martin Longmore, to make it as such as he knew my needs from a previous consultation. Thank you Team Toyota.

Many thanks to Austin in your service department. He went out of his way on a simple item, find the right puzzle lock for my car, then had a service man come out and remove the puzzle lock lugs (so i can get my tires changed at a local tire shop), not only did the service man remove the puzzle locks, he put on my spare lug nuts and then torqued all my lugs. It was only a 5 minute job, and not really a big deal but both guys went out of their way to do this for me and I think they deserve a thanks and the dealership deserves a thank you for encouraging their employees to offer great service. All the little things I go to the dealership (keys and puzzle locks) tell me this is a dealership that provides service above and beyond. Four out of Five stars for service above and beyond.

Today June 22 I picked up my pre owned Toyota Tacoma from Toyota Penticton. I called in the morning to inquiry about the truck, I spoke with Brian. I was impressed by his professionalism, humour sense and ability to make everything easy as I was coming from Vancouver and wanted to drive back the truck the same day. In this situation honesty is the key, I literally bought the truck in 30 min just based on the description of the vehicle and the information provided by Brian. When I got there, it was 4:30, I found everything ready and as described, actually even exceeded my expectation. I would describe my experience as a VIP (5 star) service. They washed the truck, waxed and polished it so it looked nice and shiny, they even put me a full tank of gas. The purchase process went smooth with the financing and insurance, everything was set up in a timely manner. I strongly recommend this dealership. Do not buy used vehicles here, they do the bare minimum they are legally required to do to prep them, then they do not post any of the faults with the vehicles online, and in some cases actually lie about it in the ad. Our 2005 Toyota Sienna van was written off due to someone running a red light and collided mid section of our vehicle ( we believe the Sienna saved our lives). We were told by ICBC that once the claim adjuster settles on a value that our vehicle is worth we’ll have 3 days to find a vehicle before losing our rental. With Covid-19 and the B.C. Forest fires, have made it difficult to find another Sienna, whether it was used or new for that matter, in the Interior of B.C. We were recommended to contact Martin Longmore, sales manager at the Penticton Toyota dealership, which we did. Martin was amazing, he heard our story that brought us to him and we went from there. Martin introduced us a to a product advisor by the name of Joe Kirk an between the two of them they were able to find us 2017 Limited AWD Sienna. Honestly, we don’t feel safe in any other vehicle than Toyota since we walked away from that very serious accident. Within 6 days we had our beautiful nearly new Sienna that they found at a dealership in Kelowna. All we can do is express to you that these guys went beyond our expectations to ensure that we were once again apart of the Toyota family! And let us tell you what a beautiful, fun, ride! As I was browsing their website quite late in the evening, I was contacted that very same night. I had a very unfortunate turn of events with Toyota Penticton. Long story short – they sold a vehicle to someone else while I had paid a deposit on it. Here is my story: I had a signed paperwork with Penticton Toyota to buy a used vehicle, with an agreed trade-in value for my car. I advised my salesperson and the salesperson who took my deposit that I had to drive from Penticton to Vancouver to pick up my trade-in vehicle, which they had reviewed through photographs and other information provided. This was confirmed via text, in writing and through in-person conversations. On Friday January 8th, 2021 I paid the $500 deposit and confirmed with two employees (both prior to deposit) the hold time required, due to the location of the trade-in vehicle. With this fully confirmed via text message as well after I left the dealership, I drove to Vancouver to meet my obligations and bring up the trade-in vehicle. While on the coast, Toyota Penticton sold the vehicle to someone else while I had a deposit on it. Penticton Toyota is calling this a “miscommunication” and offered to find me a comparable vehicle, at similar prices to our agreement. They did reimburse my deposit. However, it is now late April and I have not received any offers or any follow ups to correct this. The result was 10-plus hours of driving for no reason in winter conditions. Mistakes happen. We are fallible humans and nobody is perfect. I am, however, hurt and disappointed that nothing has be done to remedy the situation. I am certainly willing to remove and/or update this review, upon Toyota resolving this dispute. The salesperson is a nice individual, but I do feel Toyota should try to make things right. Bought a 2020 RAV4 Hybrid from Joe great guy while buying after not so much. Requested storage advice several times JOe replied once he would look into it several more emails by me not answered so emailed service manager again never replied. My question I felt was simple what do I need to do to maintain my batteries while stored for 3 months. Guess it was to technical for them.

Bought a Tacoma from Chris back in 2017 and we were now looking at getting a 4runner. Even though we don't live in the South Okanagan, I thought I would contact Chris again as it was a great experience buying the Taco. He didn't disappoint as initially it was going to be a 12-16 week wait to order a new 4runner. I said it would be fine to wait but I found the exact one we wanted at another dealer in BC and he did some dealership gymnastics and snag it from them and I now have our new 4runner and waited only 2 weeks. I had a lot of features of my Echo and Cris was very patient and thoroughly explained how car technology had advanced in the past 18 years and why I would enjoy these new features in language I could understand. I still have a lot to learn about driving my new car and its features but I took it on a test drive to Kelowna and manged most of the features. The last three services for oil and filter changes the crankcase has been over filled by 3/4 of an inch causing crank case pressure to overcome the seal on the fill cap and oil showing up on the outside of cap this is a sign off to much pressure in the case which is dangerous . The first time they removed the over fill but the next two times they told me that with 0/20 synthetic it was ok . They would not remove the over fill. Now if I have a seal failure ( Not my fault ) it will be time lost to repair the engine (unnessary). I will go back and ask again to correct this but will not go back for the rest of services that I paid for when buying the car.
