I live just outside of Bancroft and was on my way to Niagara Falls when I ran into trouble on Hwy. 11 south of Orillia. CAA recommended Memorial Automotive and I said okay. CAA was right in suggesting Memorial. Mark was very honest in his diagnosis of my problem and also found other troubles with my car. Unfortunately I had to stay overnight as one part had to be delivered and would not be in time. Mark tried very hard to get the part but was unable to. My car was ready early the next morning and drives great. the price for repair was very reasonable and I will recommend his service to all my friends.

First time to Memorial Auto, and I would highly recommend. They were very professional and was able to see my truck the following day at 8am. They fixed the issue within 30 minutes and charged me 1/2 hour labor for $52 When I inquired at the local Canadian Tire the previous day, they wanted $194 to fix the same issue. I will be returning to Memorial Auto in the future for all my vehicles.

Girlfriends 2014 Honda CR-V was making a thumbing sound every time when breaking. Front pads/rotors were replaced. (Not by this shop) Sound continues... went to this shop, spent $127 for them to clean rear brake pads and rotors that needed to be replaced anyway... waste of money as the sound continues... I took one look and saw that the rear pads are very thin and the rotors have scoring on them... very disappointed with this shop as they should be replacing the pads and rotors (which was purchased already) for free to make up for the wasted $127... completely miss Diagnosed the problem as it’s quite visible...

Highly recommend!! We haven't really had a mechanic here. We have always gone back to the dealer for various things but it always seemed expensive. We checked reviews and Memorial Automotive had good reviews so we have gone there a few times now. They are very friendly, fit my car in last minute and seem very reasonably priced. Today they affixed a part that was falling off that the dealership has put on twice now. Memorial Auto charged much less than the dealership for the same job. THANKS!!

Brought my TDI for an oil change. Asked if they carried my (rare) oil which is 505.01. He looked at "his list" and told me that they did have this oil. Its very important to make sure the oil matches or exceeds 505.01. Meaning 505.00 and anything under, is not suitable. After they broke my engine cover and not tell me about it. I get in my car and realized a couple days later. The Oil Change sticker they had put on the inside of my windshield said 502.00 on it. I was PI $$€D! Called him and told him they didnt put 505.01 like they assured me and he told me "I put in the same oil that I put in all the VDubs that come in. My car DOESN'T take the generic/average oil that most VW's take.

I had a great experience with Mark (the owner) and would recommend this place. I wish I could bring them to my area, nine hours from Orillia! No BS, no upselling or pressure to do anything other than exactly what I wanted, and a fair price, with prompt service. It's worth saying that I tend to be very fussy with my mechanic, and I hate trying to deal with someone new if I can avoid it. I’m a former bike mechanic myself, and I can tell the difference sound of a wheel bearing going bad versus a warped rotor versus an out of balance tire, so I'm the kind of guy who asks my mechanic lots of questions. In this case, I couldn’t wait to get an out of balance tire problem addressed, so I had to - shudder - choose a random shop in a random town and hope for the best. I wasn’t looking forward to the experience. I was surprised at how smoothly things went. Mark listened to my complaints, and we discussed why it was one particular problem and not another. Mark found time the next day when I could see that most of his appointment slots were already booked. He took care of the issue and answered my very specific follow-up questions without rolling his eyes (“How many ounces was the front left out? One and a quarter, really?”). Well done, Mark and team.

My van's thermostat was not working at all, my dash display was showing engine hot. I was driving south on the 400 at 6.30 pm Thursday night...I had to get off the highway, I drove into town praying that something was open. I saw a light on at Memorial. I walked in and shared my situation, he didn't say that he was closed(which he was), he grabbed his flashlight and hand held computer and followed me to my truck. He checked to coolant, plugged his computer into my truck, reset the codes. Magically my thermostat started to work. He said you should be able to get home. I asked how much do I owe you, his response was you owe me NOTHING......... My options before I saw Mark, get towed to Toronto, rent a car to get back or just be stranded in Orillia. Can't thank you enough Mark, you kindness, care and knowledge was greatly appreciated last night, not to mention you did this after hours and didn't take any money. Not to often in life you find people genuinely willing to help with out any upside for them selves. I will be driving to Orillia for my next vehicle maintenance need.. THANK YOU MARK.

I was on a road trip (back in March/April)and had different mechanics in various city's try to fix my SUV , yet everyone of them diagnosed it wrong, and ended up costing me a small fortune for nothing. While I was staying in Orillia for a few days, Marks shop was across the street from where I was staying! I took it to him, that man is honest, and fixed my Navigator properly , it hasn't run this good in months! I highly recommend his services! Just moved to Orillia and needed to find a reputable mechanic. After a quick chat with Mark, I realized that I have found an exceptional one! With minimal info and without sharing yet that I knew what the problem was with my Jeep, Mark gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done. I took it in and he had it fixed in no time. Not only that but Mark is probably one of the nicest guys I've met in Orillia so far (even went out of his way to give me a ride to and from the shop as I was in a bind and needed to get back home during the repair). Can't tell you what a difference it makes to feel instantly welcome to a new town with this type of hospitality and service. If I'd know sooner I would have made the drive out here even when I lived in the city. Thank you Mark & Team, I've definitely found my mechanic for life!

I hate taking my car to the garage, as I know it's going to cost me money! I have had to take both of our cars to Mark which has cost me about $2000 in the last month. So how could I give a 5 star review? simple Mark has always been honest with us, has treated us with respect and gives clear concise descriptions of what is wrong with the car, and even gave us a live demonstration of what was wrong with the brakes . Yes I do hate taking my cars to the shop, however I don't mind paying for quality work, done by an honest business. Take your car here first if you have a problem and save yourself the heartache of taking it to another garage!

The owner of this repair shop is second to none.... I’ve been there over the last 5 years for many repairs and I’ve always felt that I was maybe undercharged which sounds crazy right? Who says that? .... but I’m a single women and I usually feel like I’ve been taken advantage of for my lack of mechanical knowledge.... They’ve never replaced anything I didn’t really need but always keeping my safety and pocket book in mind.... I know the difference because I’ve taken my vehicles to various places for estimates and there’s always several hundreds of dollars difference between Memorial Auto and all other places.... I’ve been meaning to do this review every time I leave there but life gets in the way..... this is well overdue For the record I’m not related or connected to the owner or any of his amazing employees so this is for real...
