For my Acura-TL, exhaust noise problem, based upon the extraordinary reviews on the google, I picked this workshop , I had a choice of many other mechanics through friends but they are far, don't forget to add the fuel cost if you are driving from Scarborough to Brampton or etc. I find this place easily located, clean and with friendly service. Owner Mr. Arif is an expert , I really like his attention to detail, he test drives the vehicle before and after. Brought my GLK250 in for Spring tire changeover, oil change and alignment. Referred by an UBER friend who’s done service here. $50 for the tire swap, $120 oil/filter change (same price as MR LUBE), $80 for alignment. Price is a tad on the high side but must say all jobs were completed professionally and marvellously. The alignment was PERFECT!!! I did miss my appt (my bad) so did a walk in, boss Mr Jaffer was very kind to accommodate me. Got in at 2pm, got out at 5pm, just in time for rush hours UBERing! He was definitely on the ball, busy orchestrating and coordinating all the hustles and buzzles. All four hoists were non-stop. Busy busy shop here so have an appt. Highly recommended to anyone looking for professional mechanics. We UBERer requires top grade services to keep our business in top shape. This is the place to go. I will definitely be bringing my other Uber car, the X3, here to have Mr Jaffer look after it too.

So 4 family cars over the last 15 + years and the service keeps getting better. Initially brought in my vehicle for a dismount/mount job, after completion, I felt vibrations. I went back and asked them to rebalance the wheels, they did, however the amount of weights used was really high (11ounces) which reduced the amount of vibrations but still present. They said the tire must be defective and to return it back to the original store purchased from. If anyone has dealt with a warranty claim with tires, its an annoying procedure. After calling the manufacturer to start the warranty, they mentioned any Authorized Dealer should be able to do the inspection cost free and and file the paperwork. After finding out Discount Tire is an Authorized Dealer, I thought it would be simpler for them to submit the paper work (since they knew its bad from our history) however, this store advised there will be a $50 processing fee for the warranty submission. I call back the manufacturer, and they said its out of their control for the surcharge, and to deal with the store I originally purchased from. So, I headed back to Canadian tire, and asked them to check it out, at the end of they day, the tire was NOT defective and this store had incorrectly balanced the wheel. The people here are nice, thats why its two stars, but how the situation unfolded and how they dealt with it is 1 star. UPDATE: I still had a minor vibration on high speeds after Canadian tire balanced the one "known" bad wheel, I went back to Canadian tire to balance the other wheel Discount Tire had mounted, and that was also over balanced by approx 5 ounces. I believe Discount Tire does not have their wheel balancer calibrated or they are using a lower grade machine, either way both of my wheels were not balanced correctly (not technicians fault, just poor equipment). Learn from my mistake and loss of money and get your tires installed elsewhere, big box stores usually keep their equipment up to date.

2016: The most reasonable, honest, and most efficient shops I know. My dad and I have been going to this mechanic shop for a long time and Arif, the owner, is a great mechanic and his crew are a top notch example of how a team should operate. Very capable group, with a wide variety of equipment to perform almost any job on site. 2019: I came back on here write a review and forgot that I left a review 3 years ago. There has been literally no change in what I've written above, if anything, I'd like to add stars here because of the consistency in trust. I've moved to Vaughan, and I still drive an hour to see Arif because of the trust I have with him to take care of the cars which transport me and my family. Keep it up team!!!

I found Discount Tire & Auto on google while looking for somewhere to get an alignment done for my car. The reviews were solid and they seemed pretty great. However my experience was quite different. After doing the alignment, I was informed that my ball joint needed to be replaced on my car and that they worked around it. However driving the car home afterwards was a terrible experience. The steering on my car was pulling heavily whenever I made turns and felt quite unsafe. I don't think they test drove my car at all to test it or else they would have noticed how off it felt. Upon going to my mechanic to get the parts replaced, I was informed that they shouldn't have done the alignment to begin as it was a waste of money. They should also be test driving my car before and after doing the alignment, along with providing the alignment results to you. I called them and they offered to do another alignment for me as long as I brought it in, which was okay. However upon taking the time off to go and get the service done properly this time they were unable to accept me until Monday. At this point I just opted for a refund, but was offered about 40% the cost of the service. I appreciate the effort to try and rectify the situation and I understand that your mechanics put time in to work on my car which is why I didn't press it any further , but honestly after thinking about it when I left, i'm still fairly upset. I believe I was entitled to a full refund seeing as they did work that shouldn't have even been done in the first place and ended up wasting my time. I'm now out $50 and still have to get an alignment done. Ultimately there is fault both ways and I accept that, but I honestly can't recommend any service here with the lack of due diligence and care for my car. If I didn't talk to my mechanic and get a second opinion I wouldn't have known about this. So just a heads up before you consider getting work done here.

Truly the Best Place for Repairs I came across this place after a local auto parts store Rock Auto Part referred me in 2006. I've been going to see Arif at discount tire and auto centre for nearly 10 years from his old location to his large and spacious newer location. All my past and present personal vehicles and work cube vans are serviced here. I trust no one to look at my vehicles but Arif and his Crew. I live in Whitby, but i travel to have my cars repaired here because I trust Arif more than any of the local mechanics around me. I always feel ripped off when i went to other mechanic shops. At Discount Tire and Auto Centre, you leave there knowing that you got an honest assessment, Top Quality Work and a very fair competitive price. Today I went in with my latest car, which is a 2004 Lincoln Town Car to have a couple repairs and for safety certification. As always I left happy knowing i got quality work, quality parts, without breaking the bank too badly. Honest businessmen are hard to find in this industry. They're out there, but finding one is hard. I found mine and couldn't be happier with Arif and his hard working honest professional team at Discount Tire and Auto Centre. Feel confident if you're looking for a new place to have your vehicles repaired. I'm a client for life.

Discount Tire & Auto Centre has one of the best customer service I have encountered. I had a flat tire on Sunday and purchased a new set of tires from a different store the same day but was not able to book an appointment to go in on Monday. Understable since most people are getting their winters on. It still didn't change the fact that I had to replace my flat tire asap. I looked online and called several locations before landing on Discount Tire & Auto Centre. Arif was polite and gave me the information I asked for to make my decision. When I arrived for my appointment, it didn't take them too long before they attended to my vehicle and I like how there is a glass window that allows you to see into the workshop. I could get a sense of how the job was progressing. Arif and his team worked relatively quickly to manage the appointments as well as the volume of customers that walked in. Keep it up!

Went there today to get 2 new summer tires, take old winter tires off suv, place them on rims that i brought in (had tires on them which needed to be discarded). They were polite and friendly. I called the day before to order the tires I wanted. They were there next day by 1130am. They wrapped up my winter tires on rims in clean plastic to keep back of my vehicle clean. I've been to this place twice and never had any problems with my car after leaving. The first time I came here I had to get new winter tires and PROPER alignment since the last place I went to did a poor job. I originally bought all season tires and after 5 months the metal mesh started showing on the tire!! The prices here are reasonably fair and the service is great! They are all really nice and it just feels like they are honest with you and not trying to rip you off. It helps that they speak English here because I have been to many car services and language barrier was always an issue. My last visit here was just last night. Surprisingly it was quite busy! My car battery was giving up on me and I came here at about 5pm. They were able to change my battery the same visit and I was out there by 6pm. The only downside about this place is that it is cold while you wait so I suggest covering up A LOT, if they offered hot beverages for clients while they wait, that would be great. Otherwise, nothing bad to say about this place! This is where I will be going to from now on. :)

Arif and his staff run an excellent shop. I've purchased a set of all-season tires for my car as well as winter tires for a family member's car from Discount Tire and was very satisfied both times. Their website shows you all of the tires available for your application and gives you an exact price out-the-door. You simply place a deposit, put in a date/time when you want your appointment, and the tires shop up at the shop ready to go. Best of all, the prices here were significantly better than other shops and the tires are fresh (less than a year old). The worst experience ever. Took the car in for front end problem. Kept the car for 3 nights without even properly informing me. I drove the car into the shop, but after they started to give me the excuses I asked them to give back the car so I could take it somewhere else. But they broke something and the car wasn’t drivable. So I couldn’t even get my car out of there. They couldn’t even find the parts to fix the car quickly. Charged me twice as initially quoted. The mechanics don’t seem to have any experience. There were customer’s complaining and arguing about the repairs. I brought it in for the first time and got scammed. Do not go to this place. This is one of the few times google review fails miserably.

I visited Discount Tire last week to get my all-seasons swapped and had nothing short of a great experience. Having arrived a few minutes early to my appointment, my car was pulled in immediately to get worked on. I watched through the glass as they removed the old balance weights, removed the tires, cleaned the rims, mounted the all-seasons, re-balanced, re-installed, and re-torqued very professionally. The staff here is super friendly and efficient. I spoke to the owner Arif at the counter about how I had trouble replacing my transmission fluid at home due to a rust-welded transmission drain bolt. He kindly agreed to loosen the bolt and advised me to change the fluid as soon as possible to avoid leaks. I'll definitely be back here again next season when it's time to get my winters re-installed.

Terrible place. My mechanic sent me here to do an alignment on my car which my mechaniC said it would only be $60. They charged me $70 which is no big deal I didnt argue. Came out to tell me that my struts were weak and that my car was still pulling. They said they had another option but it would be an additional $100 to manually do the alignment which i agreed on because he had said that it would fix my issue. Came out after 4 hours to tell me that my car was still pulling and that I still had to pay $170+tax for an issue that was never fixed. Never again. My mechanic would have done a manual alignment for $60... what a joke

I bought tires online, big mistake because they would've been cheaper buying them directly from here. Nevertheless, I originally called about 20 shops to get prices for mounting the tires, Discount Tire was the best price I found. While they were mounting the tires a young mechanic made a mistake and damaged one tire, this was on a Friday. They said they would replace it at no cost to me, I mentioned that my new tires were made on the 45th week of 2018 (as seen on the side of the tire) I asked that the replacement tire be no older than 2018. When I came back on Saturday the owner even brought the tire into the waiting room so I could check it. Not only was the tire made in 2018, it was the exact same week as the others I bought online. I don't know how they managed to do that but I was really impressed by this. I didn't have to wait that day, I was in and out in 30 minutes hassle free. This was my first experience coming to Discount Tire and I left feeling very happy with the work they did. The one damaged tire was disappointing, however everyone makes mistakes and it was replaced free of charge. I'm extremely impressed by the professionalism displayed by the owner and the service advisor. I'm particular about who works on my cars. I'm happy I found a new mechanic shop. I highly recommend this shop.

Prices were very fair and competitive and the customer service was great. Personally it was the pricing the hooked me in but the customer experience made it much better. EDIT : Unfortunately 2 months later i got my brand new tires from this place, a needle of some sort struck one of the tires and got it flat. I brought it in and they patched it for me. The boss, worker, and front desk were excellent to deal with and even did it for FREE! This happened right after the new years so it was great of them to this for me. Discount Tire & Auto Centre - my pre-ordered tires.. they took me on time today, 10:30 a.m. I would like to stress that the pre-ordered tires that were ordered by Discount was entirely my fault, as the tire measurements were incorrect so after removing my tires, the Team realized that they were the wrong tires. At that time, Mr. Arif advised me of same and I asked him if it was my fault and he very quietly advised me that it was, as I had given him the incorrect tire measurements! No anger, frustration, etc. as I wasted their time - 1 1/2 hours it took them to get my car ready with my original tires! Mr. Arif advised me that on Monday he will search for my special tires as he now has the correct measurements and he will then call me. Great place to service your vehicle, from a regular oil change to engine tuneup and even buying tires. Purchased a set of winter tires with allow rims for my Mazda CX 5 and people are still asking where I got them from. I have been a customer since 2010 and have never gone anywhere else for any car service. They have a great group of knowledgeable mechanics that will help you identify your car issues and fix them in a timely manner. Cost of service and parts are very good. All of them are very friendly and very approachable, answering with their honest opinions when asked. Finally, the location is very accessible, close to the 401 just south on Kennedy.

I went here today to get my wheels balanced. I knew my tires were worn out but I have gotten a few quotes that were way over what I could afford. they worked with me and got me an amazing price on 4 new tires. The wheel balancing was included in my price which was even more amazing!! And to top it off they let me know one of my headlights was burnt out and replaced it for me as well, again at a very reasonable price. Discount tire was very considerate and quoted us a quick response to our problem. I was trying to find a specific tire, Nitto Neogen in a 215/40R17. I tried 4 different shops and/or online stores, all of which charged my credit card, then realized they couldnt get the tires for 6-8 weeks, so refunded me. One place got them but they were manufactured 0214 (second week of 2014) meaning over 3 years old already. Finally I found Discount Tire & Auto on Google and sent in a quote request. It was promptly answered by Arif from their Scarborough location with pricing matching or below the other shops I had dealt with. I told him my concern about other companies not being able to get them or being old. He ordered them in for me next day and confirmed the manufacture date was late 2016 which was perfect before ever charging a cent. Next he realized I was further East from Toronto so offered to send them to their Oshawa center instead closer to my home. Arif was excellent to deal with both through email and calling me to follow up once the tires were recieved. The representative at the Oshawa location was also excellent and very knowledgeable when I picked them up though I forget his name. Great price, customer service and very fast ordering. Im glad someone could finally get me the tires I wanted after weeks of searching and 4 refunds. Will definitly recommend and be ordering my tires here in the future. Thanks again guys.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Spent $4000 on my car at this place to get a safety and two days later after leaving this shop my engine seized in the middle of the highway because there was no oil. They were so eager to tell me about anything that would make them money but they didn’t even bother to the check the oil. This place doesn’t care at all about customers, all they are after is money like most dishonest mechanics. Don’t be fooled by the word “discount” take your car to professionals and you will save money. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

I shopped around quite a bit and was able to get the best price for my winter tires here! Very professional service, a good atmosphere and a nice waiting area. Unprofessional, dishonest and waste of money...came here to change over to my snow tires and they broke my TPMS sensor. No one told me it was broken, however I saw the error message on my dash / got a 2nd opinion. I came back 3 times, (1) they said it was low air, sent me on my way (2) come back, they’re too busy (3) The final time I said I’m not leaving until this is fixed. They ordered the sensor, installed it and assured me it was fixed. Not even 2 days later, the same error popped up...found out they didn’t put a sensor on & had reset the error message.

BEWARE - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I went for a 4-wheel alignment for $70. I repeatedly asked the front receptionist (Megan) that I would like a report when it is done. When they brought the car back, they did not provide the requested report. Megan and the owner claimed something was wrong with their printer and how they will email it to me, which they never did (over a week now). The alignment is still off after changing tires. I am thinking they never aligned my tire. Either that or they went to another shop to get it aligned and don't want to give me the report. I called stating I didn't get the report, and they're just avoiding it at this point and disregarding their customer. I wrote my email to them in person and double-checked over the phone when I followed-up with Megan. Dishonest company. Go somewhere else for honest service.

Stay away especially from the alignment. I paid $ 70 and because I was not satisfied with how the car moves after the alignment the next day I went to another service where the surprise ... The alignment was totally wrong plus they forgot to tighten a screw on the direction.

Ppl seem to be courteous & nice, but the day my car was towed there to have a tire replaced, the tire wh I bought online the day before (the only way I cld get that size tire), never arrived as should. I called ahead to confirm before I called the tow truck. I guess that's the fault of the tire supplier?

Went there for winter tire change last week. They didn't have the tire in stock when I booked appointment a day before but next morning when I got there they were there and I was asked to take a look at them before they get installed. No up sell pressure. I thought the rotors may need replacement as the front ones were rusted but I was told its not needed at this time. Pretty satisfied with the experience. Very friendly management and workshop staff. Very reasonable price.

Excellent and fast tire service. Although, I didnt have an appointment, whatever i want to order tires for my vehicle they bring them sameday from warehouse. So you dont need to order from canadiantire or costco because first you will wait 5-10business days for tires after that you will have an appointment.All brands' tires' prices are really good at their service.In addition every 10000km you have free tire rotation service. I strongly recommend this service.

This is a very late review, which I should have posted over a year ago: I received a flyer in the mail a few years ago and decided to give this place a try, as a backup, when the other shop I go to is closed. Service is relatively good, except for a couple of times when I left unhappy. The first incident was when I requested an oil change while some other work was being done on my vehicle (already on the lift). I supplied my own oil and filter. The mechanic that did the oil change poured the entire 5L bottle of engine oil into the engine. My vehicle's engine only takes 4 Litres. It was the end of the day, the shop was closing soon and I was tired and did not remember to ask for the remaining oil to be returned. When I checked the oil level the next day, it was way up on the dipstick. I had to have some oil drained somewhere else, in the west end where I work. When I went back to Discount Tire for some more work to be done on my vehicle, I told the owner and was slightly discounted for the trouble with the oil change. The second time I went in for a coolant leak and a persistent vibrating/grinding/grunting noise that I couldn't figure out myself. The mechanic could not hear any noise during the test drive, although I could hear it. I also had a coolant leak, in which the technician told me the thermostat gasket was leaking. I was quoted for the thermostat and gasket replacement and left. I returned a couple of days later to pay the diagnosis charge of $30 to Ron, at the front desk. I had promised the owner that I would return to have the work done and pay the diagnostic charge then (he knows me as a returning customer.) I did not have the work done, since I was out of work at the time. I let the coolant leak for a month (it was a minor leak) since I was hardly driving at the time (topped it up when low). I ended up buying the parts to do the job myself, since I money was an issue for me and it was not a difficult job. I found right away that it was a loose hose clamp at the thermostat that was causing the leak. The gasket was fine. A simple fix saved me a lot of money, while Discount Tire would charge me to change a thermostat gasket for no reason. The vibrating/grinding/grunting noise turned out to be worn engine mounts. My other shop found the problem right away and replaced the worn engine mounts. When the technician was test driving my vehicle to diagnose the noise, he was throwing transmission into drive while it was still rolling back in reverse, and vice-versa. I was not happy with the abuse of my vehicle's transmission. Sometime when I leave Discount Tire after service, the Overdrive light would be blinking a trouble code. I do not know if I would return to this shop. They do good 4-wheel alignments, on a computerized alignment rack though. Also, don't be so cheap to keep your customers in a cold waiting area in winter. Turn on the heat.
