DESCRIPTION

Here you will see the opinions of real people who buy the products and services of Canadian Tire Corporation (Tires) near Ontario (Canada).

Right now the business gets a score of 1.6 over 5 and the score is based on 54 reviews.

You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is very insufficient, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they are satisfied with the business, is that it works.

As you know, we do not usually stop to set feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

This Tires is classified in the category of Corporate office.

How many more profitable companies will CT purchase, close down and layoff employees just to further monopolize their market? I can count at least 4 so far just in the past few years. Shame on this company. Shop elsewhere.

I hate all their policies and how they treat customers with those policies.. this is the worst store retailer company in canada and I wish they would take the (canadian) out of the name.. this is definitely not worthy to have a Canadian name.. and mastercraft products are no better then surplus stores. Garbage all around.. shop at home depot, Costco, these stores have quality products and if your not satisfied return for full refund.. don't expect that from Canadian tire.. Even Walmart has better policies.... Canadian tire you need to start appreciating your customers better simple as that..

If I could rate negative 10 I would. I went to Waterdown, ON Canadian Tire for a tire repair. I asked what did they do for tire and was told the had plugged the tire and when I asked to see plug was told they are too busy to show me. Tire continued to leak so I brought it to Beverly Tires. Turns out no plug in tire. No repair had been done anywhere on tire yet Canadian tire charged me for repair. I called manager and we set up a time I would come in for refund. I came in and after 4 representatives they didn't know how to refund me the money. When I said there is a simple solution to this kind of problem....Don't charge for work you didn't do. I got snapped at by customer service. She walked away and served another customer before completing my transaction. I explained to them due to an injury it is extremely painful to come to store and very difficult to stand for any length of time I was told to wait til next person come in for work then when they couldn't figure out how to refund, then wait til third person comes, then fourth, then when they asked for me to wait for fifth person to come. At this point I asked for receipt back and said I can not wait for the FIFTH person. Their suggestion was come back another time so I could speak to FIFTH or maybe sixth, seventh......tenth person before I get a refund. I still don't have a refund for work Canadian Tire charged but didn't do. In order to get a refund I guess I will have to plan on hours and hours of standing waiting to meet their whole personnel until we can find someone who knows how to refund a transaction for work they never did. Maybe it is because there is not a refund code for stealing from a customer. STRONGLY suggest don't go here. I have heard many people in my neighborhood and from other stores that Waterdown Canadian Tire is not a good company. Well they did prove that word is correct.

I am a frequent buyer and I usually prefer to buy on line, or to search on line the inventory before going to the store. I use the mobile app. Canadian Tire information system is totally unreliable, and I am saying this with confidence based on my multiple experiences during the last 6 years, for more than ten times I went in Canadian Tire locations to find that the product was not available even thought it was showing a lot of available inventory. Many times it’s like a treasure hunt driving from one location to another, and this creates a lot of frustration. Will continue to buy from CT, and I honestly hope they will be able to fix this issue.

Buyer beware. Mastercraft tools are supposed to have a lifetime warranty. They would not replace a broken, clearly marked Mastercraft ratchet. Canadian Tire no longer honors it's own warranties. Such a shame. Used to be my go to store. Now I shop at Princess Auto. True Canadian store that stand behind what they sell.

My family has been going to the local Ingersoll Canadian Tire since we moved here and since the new ownership the service at the auto center has gone downhill to the point that I would recommend against using their service. When having a belt replacement, the belt was not installed correctly resulting in a second visit to have the issue corrected. On a visit in March for repair work, there were fresh scratches in the paint of our vehicle. It took until September to resolve the issue with them. Their owner Jason advised that since their cameras didn't show the techs damaging the paint, they weren't going to do anything about it (I would have been ok with a $5-$10 small can of touchup paint and done the repair myself) On our more recent visit, their techs failed to reinstall the battery terminal cap that resulted in it bouncing around in the vehicle's belt. Fortunately that didn't become a safety issue while driving, but it did result in a second visit to find the problem and our battery terminal cap being chewed up. When I said that I was disappointed in Jason's response and wouldn't be returning (which is reasonable given the recent history of poor work) his response was, "And now you're threatening me!" No, I've been very level and more than fair with you, I'm saying I'm not returning because you've failed to make a token gesture and the quality of work is very poor.

Why is the service center at Canadian Tire such garbage? I had no issues with my AC in my car, then my starter died and brought it to Canadian Tire in St. Catharines on 4th avenue. They fixed it, cost almost $700 and immediately after that my AC stopped working. It was blowing hot air. I called and they wouldn't take any responsibility but scheduled to look at it. They charged me $62. They looked at it and said it needs a whole new AC system which is $1850.00. I declined. They wouldn't even say why it wasn't their fault. I mean, it happened right after they were in my car working on the starter. Now I'm out AC in this heat. They are such a fraudulent business it's disgusting.

There is no appreciation and respect for loyalty. I been servicing my cars there for 15 years and yesterday I went to a 9 o'clock appointment, and waited for11 hours and 20 minutes and nobody seem to care.i had new tires installed and an oil change that was done by 12.00 noon, and then the mecanic took over and didn't finish till 8.30 PM.all the customer service people gone home ,couldn't care less, very fake insincere attitudes.Whats going on...? this is not normal, no good for your bussiness, I do spend a lot of money there. I really thought the manager should have offered some kind of goodwill compensation for my 12 00 hour wait....

Canadian tire is not Canadian anymore and has not been for quite a while since I started purchasing everything from China. They also claim that choking people is for their health?

I had a front end alignment done less than 2 weeks ago. Took it back to CDN Tire and said it pulls to the right. The manager said "You hit something", I replied "NO SIR". Then said, "We do not warranty allignments". How nice $82 down the drain.

(Translated) How can I see my wishlist on the website? I am adding items but it is impossible to find the button! Not too complicated to put together. (Translated) They censor reviews on their website when a negative review is too specific, which is why negative reviews are very short and positive reviews have 3-4 lines of text. I've been censored twice for no reason, yet my opinion strictly meets their evaluation criteria.

I made an application for a Canadian Tire Bank credit card. I got turned down based on the information available to them. The letter suggests that I contact Transunion about my credit. I went online to Transunion to check and my credit score is in the "Excellent" category. I called Canadian Tire bank and ask the representative the reason for the decline; his response was: "obviously you don't qualify" I guess Canadian Tire does not really want our credit card business. I wonder if the real intent is to gather private credit info from people through their application form (with no real intent to issue credit card) and sell that info to third party for money.

Don’t bother ordering online from their Marks branded website. It’s so far behind Amazon it’s laughable. 8 day delivery time in Toronto vs Amazon same day. Laughable. Stock is at two year low which tells you the market understands that Canadian Tire struggles in the modern world. Amazon #1.

So I completely understand that I cannot go in person and buy things. But the fact that Canadian tire a large corporation does not have the option to add a gift card online to make a purchase is beyond me. It’s 2021 this is something small business have but Canadian tire does not? I cannot call and speak to someone at my local store either. Thank you to the very rude & disrespectful customer service agent who said “I can’t change the website” and hung up on me. Canadian tire who was once the greatest store in my eyes really disappointed me today. Guess I’ll save all the gift cards I have gotten which I’m told to “treat like cash” for in person shopping next year or whenever we are allowed back.

Recently made the mistake of taking my car into CT auto on the Queensway for alignment. I drove directly from my own mechanic ( who completed extensive work on my car including summer tires on) to CT , 20 min journey. Warned ahead of time they will try and up sell you . Exactly what happened, had the car ten minutes , you need Ball Joint work! I just left my mechanic literally twenty mins ago ( he had the car for two days! ) I decline the obvious scam, complained , got me no where , told me bring it back and they would show me?! Or take it back to my own Mechanic, who already told me I don’t need any Ball Joint work done! Customer service rep Guy, did not want to know or acknowledge my car was just seen by qualified Mechanic who Confirmed Ball Joints were fine. DO NOT TRUST THIS CT AUTO!! Crooks

I shared a horrific experience my daughter and myself had at the Canadian Tire in Deep River with owner Adam and manager Christine! Your office replied to the comment asking me to call! That day I did call and spoke to 3 different reps and none of them are aware of the laws and legalities around wearing masks or what private business actually means to denying the public service so what is the point of me calling you when no one there is capable or has the correct knowledge to properly manage this type of complaint? It’s been almost 2 years and Canadian Tire doesn’t have a clue to the correct and lawful action !

Is there an option for no stars!! Highly recommend to avoid buying appliances from canadian tire The return policy is very complicated and confusing they will basically never refund anything! I bought a robot vacuum online during the lockdown and was told that i could return it back once they open, by the time the damn lockdown was over my 90 days passed and although my vacuum was still NOT used they wouldnt refund me my money, they gave mestore credit which also expores!!! And i tried to use the store credit card in the gas ststion because i dont ever want to bpuy pliances from them again but i couldnt even do thst!!! HUGE disappointment

Canadian tire censor reviews on their website for products. This is unacceptable. I will not do any business with a company that falsifies product reviews.

I used to spend $10,000 or more each year at Canadian tire stores but store #425 owned by the often rude pierre hofstatter has me shopping elsewhere. We can all vote with our wallets

Canadian Tire. Economic Disgrace--- Made in Canada. I went to several Canadian Tire locations in Toronto to buy basic necessities during this period of despair and social unrest, at a time of unprecedented crisis. All the locations I went to refused to let me in. I am a person with a medical disability and I can not wear a mask because it restricts my breathing. Even though I shopped at these locations regularly, during the pandemic, and always identified myself as a person with a medical condition, and a person of disability, this all came to an end as of March 2021. I was informed at these locations that they were enforcing a zero admittance policy for individuals who can not wear a mask. They refused to provide names, they did not provide any accommodation, and stated they could remove anyone from their store for no reason at all, and they had a right to protect themselves from people like me. They did not provide any such policies, they refused to provide any explanation, and at two of the locations the managers would not even talk to me. I was told to leave or the police would be called. At the third location I recorded the interaction, and it will shock you to hear what the manager had to say.The Canadian Tire locations were at 1901 Eglinton ave , 1025 Lakeshore Ave East, and 2850 Kingston Rd. I filed a non-compliance complaint against every location. On March 9, 2021 I filed a Human Rights Violation complaint with Canadian Tire. They didn't seem to care and basically told me this was a store owner policy rollout and they encourage me to direct any further questions or concerns about retail regulations to the government. In the video that I recorded, the Manager states that this is a nationwide rollout by Canadian Tire and not the owners. The purpose is to remove the basic rights of disadvantaged people or groups. Based on the way I was treated, this is merely an attempt to use Economic Hardships to portray people who are disadvantaged as being subhuman or insignificant through various forms of violence, whether institutional, verbal, physical or mental abuse. This will escalate. When government leaders state that businesses have the right to refuse entry to people who do not wear masks and your Police Authority backs these statements by threatening to remove such people from businesses for trespassing, this in itself shows the system is not inclusive. It portrays a cold calculated and methodical incitement of hatred, portrayed against identifiable groups, where bias and zero accountability is utilized as a social tool for the destruction of Equality, for the poor, weak, disabled, and many other identifiable groups. People will continue to be marginalized through companies like Canadian Tire, as long as they propagate bias through unregulated Policies that discriminate against disadvantaged people or groups. No one should be forced to submit to differential treatment in a public setting in order to use platforms that are available to the masses, including basic services, economic equality, and full participation. The system portrays itself as being safe and fair but without transparent regulation or full accountability, there are no safeguards and companies like Canadian Tire will punish the poor and disadvantaged for simply existing. In my mind I believe that holding Companies like Canadian Tire accountable is a step in the right direction. People shouldn't have to live in the shadows or in fear, because they are different. The Economic engine of public society should not be used as a portal of inequality and social order should not be progressed through the deprivation of basic human rights. This is an organization that has portrayed its true colours. This isn't a mistake or an error, but instead something very sinister. When you project hatred towards certain groups and individuals, the brutality of Persecution will follow. This time they did it to me. Next time it will be someone else.

Some one called from the head office regarding an over charge for my Lexus GX 470. I spend $180 + HST for the same job they did and they only refunded ( sent a Canadian tire card) for $60. I faxed them and they called me but they didn’t left me the call back number properly. Please refund my $120. Thank you

Online prices do not necessarily reflect the in-store pricing. Call your local store to verify pricing as otherwise you may get a nasty shock to your wallet. Also item pictures on website are not always accurate, updates and corrections are slow to be made, this can be troublesome and frustrating to the customer.

Tried to order on the curbside pick up at the Meadowvale town center store, but this store demanded a $25 minimum. Busiest part of this store is the return line!

Lori Stoeten

This is absolutely unacceptable.......I have tried to buy paper towels (not in bulk) and I can't find one package anywhere because of covid? I finally found some at Canadian Tire (quite a drive for me) and I ordered the limit of 4. I was only allowed 2 but online it says I could purchase 4. This is my second trip (and, another store) where I was only allowed 2......hardly worth the drive. If they are only allowing a limit of 2, they should change the amount online because in store, you are only allowed 2 but due to covid, I have to order curbside and it still says 4 when the limit is 2. Ugh!!!!! Waste of gas.

Ordered washer fluid twice and order got canceled twice because of Canadian tire inventory issues. Wasted 4 days trying to get washer fluid. Will be shopping elsewhere as much as I can.

Does the Hanover Ontario location have anything in stock. Every time there is a flyer and you go in that day they dont have it. They say would you like a rain check and when I get one I never get a call saying the item is in. This store is a joke no wonder he cant find employees to work it. If you cant take care of your customers how can you take care of your staff. Never going back to Canadian tire

Rich

Went in to the NewGlasgow store to buy Ratchet tie down straps, on line it says they had 5 in stock aisle 16. Asked the salesperson for help as couldn't locate them and they stated can't find them guess they are not unpacked yet. You advertised you had 5 and they couldn't be bothered to find one????

Canadian Tire is a Canadian Company and is supposed to support Canadians and not gouge us. I purchased a box of 100 latex gloves from Canadian Tire it cost me $16.99 . I went to Wall-mart which is an American owned Company and I paid only.$9.97 a box.

David Hammond

It has been a year today that I last spent money with Canadian tire. I'm not happy about having to boycott this Canadian company. But untill they set out clear rules on how the stores are run by private companies and enforce these rules. All so stop refusing to take charge of Canadian tire customers issues and problems, with stores that make up their own rules and policies, myself and many other people I know that feel the same way, we will continue to spend our money elsewhere.

Em Gee

Worst customer service experience ever. The sales person flatly refused to help me find the product number for a bicycle tube, then when I called back with it, she took the order for curb side pickup but probably trashed it because I was never contacted to pick up. I since bought a tube somewhere else and will never shop at Canadian Tire again. Useless place!

My phone was broken at a Canadian Tire location at cedarbrae mall. An employee grabbed and pulled my hoody telling me I can't walk in a certain direction. Who is she? an Employee (cashier) cashing people out. I walked past her to get to Customer Service. I pulled out to record the incident then. My phone cost me $1600. I had to buy another phone for about $1800. (I have proof of purchase of my costs and damages occurred as a result) I wasn't compensated for anything and due to covid I have to wait before I take them to small claims court. I need my phone replaced at all costs. I have pictures, and video evidence and the store manager did nothing. I use to spend roughly $6000 a year shopping at Canadian Tire. My wife told me not to shop at that particular location since they are all individually owned. I say to avoid Cedarbrae mall CT at all costs because they are the worst monkeys working there. I don't know how they became supervisors, managers, and operations managers with such lack of professionalism. They have no formal education or training because they usually hire students from Cedarbrae, make them feel good, and promote scrubs from within after a year. Also I've noticed recently they have been manipulating and adding fake reviews on their website. Buyer Be Aware, don't believe their online reviews because it's posted 10-15 days ago. I can't seem to even read some of the reviews. Canadian Tire is becoming more shady. In the past year they have been hiring Indian scammers to write fake reviews for small commissions. I do like to support Canadian businesses, but I can no longer support shittyTire and neither should you!

December 15th 2020 I purchased a Misty mountain women's winter coat Now four weeks later the zipper has come apart at the bottom and will not zip up anymore. My local store says they are not doing returns and exchanges for a couple more months. This is upsetting and frustrating as I work outside in the cold, a curbside exchange should be possible at this time under these circumstances.

On Tues. July 14 2020,l talked to a woman named Samatha, she spent at least 30 mins. to help me over the phone to cancel an Amazon account the was charging me for unwanted items. The patience she had with me was appreciated.Thank you for having such an amazing staff .

I have never been so disappointed with a company that never put any effort into resolving the problem I encountered and the expense I received regarding the wrong item I was sold but while being assured it was right

Paul&Mary Looser

Bought a generator in Listowel location within 3 weeks it dropped $200.00 and they would not take back unit or refund the difference. They are a rip off will buy from other stores now . Customer service did nothing to correct the problem so buyers beware. Check the reviews they are not good . .

Canadian Tire takes your money and their happy, the fact that you don't get you item well that is no concern for them. Do not shop online with this company. They said they would reimburse me but that has not happened. They have my money and my item so I guess it there to sell again they can sell the same item twice. Nice profit margin. This order went in june 19 2020. Today is July 14 2020. They are making interest on money that is not theirs.

This review following was written a month ago on the markham website. I gave 4 stars then The response was, well maybe next time you will give us five stars without addressing the problem. Today I went in the same store.....still the same problem. They wanted us to keep 6 feet apart in line but no problem cutting through the narrow line to get past people when one wants to exit out. I ask the manager on duty about this delima and he clearly indicated to me that it wasn't a big deal and pretty much walked away. I'm shocked by this behavior and the response. What happened to the Canadian Tire I once knew. REVIEW LAST MONTH I hesitated to write a negative review, but felt this matter should be corrected. I came in the store to find out the item I was looking for was not available, so I attempted to leave the store empty handed. I walked back and forth to find the way out, only discover that I had to wait in the long narrow line up that was waiting for the next available cashier. I didn't want to squeeze by everyone to get to the front of the line so I could get to the exit doors, this would go against the Covid Protocal . I thought maybe I missed the spot to get to the exit doors. I asked a young fellow, how do I get out of here ? he said either go through the lineup, or wait for someone to come in the entrance way and pull the bar forward and then he just walked away. I would have given 5 stars but you lost one with me. please organize the merchandise so the customers can walk through to the Exit door.

Your website is an exercise in anger management. It's terribly slow. even at 3 in the morning, it lags, glitches and takes forever to load.
