Oakville Tire has been servicing my VW for several years. The customer service is second to none. Try calling VW for service - you get voicemail, run around, no response. Someone at Oakville Tire answers the phone! And spends the time to explain the service needed. I always get a call advising me of any work that needs to be done and am told, honestly, whether it can wait or should be done right away. No one (that I know of) enjoys spending money on car repair. But the guys at Oakville Tire are knowledgeable, friendly and give quality service every single time.

Never have I felt compelled to write a review online before but I have to do it for the great customer service and work at Oakville Tire. As I was shopping for a used car I reached out to the guys at Oakville Tire for advice and not only did they help me through the process, they encouraged me to bring cars in and walked me through step by step the things that I should keep an eye out for. They cared just as much as I did about the car and were a great resource for someone who doesn't know much about mechanical work. Happy to say I found a good car and would highly recommend Oakville Tire for their honest and transparent service!

Initially, I wanted to bring my vehicle to MTC Tire for a Hunter Roadforce balancing for some tires that needed balancing. When I called and spoke to them, I was advised that their Hunter machine was down, and suggested I try Oakville Tire and Auto, at 1050 S. Service Rd. I called Oakville Tire and let them know the situation, provided the brand and tire size, and was told 'no problem, come in, no appointment required'. Upon getting to the shop, everything looked fine, the folks seemed knowledgeable, tidy showroom area, tidy work bays, etc, so they took in my vehicle, and began the work. After about fifteen minutes, one of the managers (Ken?) came out to let me know that the tires were very difficult to balance, and that they had used up almost $12 worth of weights for just the one tire, and that he would not balance the rest, as it was too expensive, and not worth their time. He went into the shop, told the tech working on my vehicle to 'just bolt them back on'. They bolted the wheels back onto my vehicle, and handed me my keys. Quite possibly the worst customer service that I have ever experienced, which is a shame, because the tech working on my vehicle seemed to know his stuff, and was quite willing to put in the time to do the job properly. Bottom line, go to any other tire shop. There are many options in Oakville. EDIT: (to clarify erroneous statements made by establishment). The only 'problem' with my vehicle, is that the tires weren't balanced properly, which you refused to correct, solely due to the extra expense that you would have incurred. i) The 1.5" hub-centric, G2 wheel spacers, with Loctite applied, were on my previous Jeep Wrangler for over two years, without any issues. ii) The Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs were not used tires- they were purchased four months ago, brand new, at a local Canadian Tire, who had NO trouble balancing them when they installed them. I had them switched over to my new Jeep last month, and the dealer (being a typical dealer) didn't balance them properly - so I brought them to someone I expected would be an expert with this particular task. Sadly, I picked the wrong 'expert'. iii) The wheels are not aftermarket wheels, or from some random vehicle- they are the new OEM wheels that came standard, right from FCA, with my new 75th Anniversary Edition Wrangler. Nice try though. iv) Funny, you didn't mention *anything* about any issues with my vehicle then- because there aren't any. It's less than a month old. My vehicle isn't lifted, at all. v) One of your guys came right out and said that the cost of the weights alone would be over $70. That to me indicates it wasn't worth your time. I understand that you need to be profitable, but don't come on here lying, trying to make it sound like I drove into your shop with a 6" lifted off-road rig with clapped out tires, and a bunch of shoddy aftermarket parts. Your customer service sucks, and you will never see a penny from me, nor will I recommend your shop to anyone else. Like I mentioned earlier, your tech was very good, and he probably would have done an excellent job, and would have balanced them perfectly, had he been given the chance and the opportunity to use up a few more ounces of weights than your typical passenger vehicle requires. Your employees deserve a better management team! For the record, Canadian Tire was able to properly balance all five tires in under an hour, and it drives perfectly. They did it with a smile, and without bitching about the cost of any weights they had to apply to the wheels.

I came in for a scheduled appointment at 8am. Was told a vehicle would be provided. When I arrived the appointment wasn't honored and no vehicle was available. The owner, yes the owner called me a "d!ck" "a*hole" "retard" and proceeded to ask if I can speak English when I asked questions on how he thought failing to deliver on a commitment was good customer service. Response to your reply: so...the person you put in charge is allowed to pretend he is the owner and treat customers this way.

Had winter tires on rims replaced with summer ones on rims. Total charge $60 plus HST for perhaps 15 minutes of work. It works out to $240 per hour! Tires were purchased there but no discount. My car dealer quoted $30 but unfortunately is wasn't convenient timewise but now regret not asking for a quote from Ontario Tire before having the tires changed

Ok so my father failed me as a child growing up. I have zero car knowledge. So I had a flat tire I roll up with the doughnut on and tell Mike straight up if you can somehow repair my tire that would be great otherwise put a new one on and charge me whatever. So the opportunity to take advantage of me and charge me out the ass was there. Long story short they fixed the tire and asked me if i wanted an oil change as it was 10k plus since my last. Amazing service reasonable prices and straight up legit honest men. If i could give 10 stars i would. Thanks boys

True story.... We were in the midst of moving a month ago and the tire on our cargo trailer kept losing air. No one up our way had a tire in stock so I called OT and spoke with Tim to see if they had one. They did not, but he offered up a free used tire that they had, which got us through the move. I had my Brother in law, who lives in Oakville pick it up since we were moving from Georgina up to North Bay. Based on this service, I would Highly recommend them. BTW - the tire is still on the trailer. If I get down that way again, I will certainly purchase my tires from them. Thank you very much Oakville Tire - you saved the day!

If I could rate this business lower than one star I would. Easily the worst experience at any car related business in over 35 years driving. They do not care about you or your business. Ken, the GM is without question the most unprofessional, customer service lacking individual I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with. Rude does not even come close. There are LOTS of great tire businesses in Oakville that would love your business and will treat you with respect and appreciation, so spare yourself the aggravation and upset, go somewhere else. Its not like they have great pricing anyway.

Very unhappy with the service from Oakville Tire. Got a flat and called Oakville tire and spoke to Glen. Apparently my tire wouldn't be in stock for a couple of days and they asked if I could bring the wheel/tire in and that way they could mount and balance the new tire on my rim and then I could pick it up when ready. Brought rim/tire in around 9am and waited in empty reception for about 5 minutes while the guy working the desk was eating his breakfast. Eventually he came out and I explained the situation and left the rim with him. I sheepishly explained that it was a 1-month old car I asked that they be very careful with the new rim. He said "noooooo problem - our equipment won't even touch that". Well I come back and pick up the mounted tire and they've gouged the inside of my rims in 4 different spots in sets of 2 gouges. Called back for an explanation of how it happened and was given nothing except an apology. The manager Ken was nice enough to email me and commend his guy Glen on what a great job he did handling my concerns. Ken, if Glen is so good then maybe he should be mounting and balancing the tires because whoever did it was incompetent or just didn't care. Or maybe your equipment damages rims and that's just the way it is...but if it's on the inside of the rim hopefully customers don't notice. Anyways - never again. Lesson learned. (Edit - notes to Oakville Tire's response) 1) Absolutely misleading response from Oakville Tire. Rims were ceramic coated weeks earlier. Ceramic coating is literally just microns thick - your equipment gouged the rims right to the bare aluminum in 4 areas in sets of 2 where the wheel was clamped. Nothing to do with ceramic coating. Really upset with their defensive response and failure to accept responsibility. They know exactly what happened - own it. 2) Your staff made the choice to clamp a brand new rim on the inside of the barrel instead of on the outside of the rim which gets covered up by the tire. Is that not incompetence? Normal practice would be to clamp the rim on the outside if you didn't want to leave any marks. 3) At no time did Ken (GM) ever call me. Glen called me once, failed to answer any of my questions i.e. how did it happen?, why did it happen?, how could it have been prevented?, why were my instructions ignored? All he did was offer an apology and asked me what he could do to make me happy - I explained that all I wanted was for my rim not to get damaged - "do you want to buy me a new rim??" well, he didn't answer that question either - silence. Oakville Tire's follow up was limited to 1 phone call and definitely was not as magnanimous as they've indicated. 3) Ken (GM) did email me within 10 minutes of leaving this review explaining that Google reviews don't affect their business in any way and that he was disappointed in how I handled the situation. Ken - you had 2 weeks to do something/anything and you didn't lift a finger other than to send me an email with a patronizing "merry christmas" and wisecracking that I had mental issues. Wow Ken, you're making jokes about your customers having mental issues during a pandemic?? Bottom line is that some people may not care if their rims get hacked up and that's understandable....IMO how they handled this issue and how they treated me should be a red flag for anyone.

2014 Amazing place! Very honest and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Ive been going here for over 10 years and is always consistent. Would recommend this shop to anyone. 2018 updated review. Not sure if they went through a change of ownership, but the last 2 times i've called the person on the other end of the phone is just miserable. They made me feel stupid and a hassle for calling in to get new tires. I will take my $2000.00 for new rubber and spend it at another place. Additionally there will be no more referrals. What used to make your company so good was that it was a great environment and trusted. All the best, and remember the world inst so bad!..

Excellent service! We were on a road trip from Nova Scotia when a tire blew on our camper trailer. We made many, many phone calls looking for a replacement without much luck. When we talked to Oakville Tire, they had them sent over to the shop within a few hours and we were back on the road that very day! Very helpful and much appreciated customer service!

Called these guys after yesterday's snow storm because I noticed I was getting a lot of vibration around 80 km per hour. Suffice to say, the gentleman I spoke with on the phone recommended I clean out the tire, wheel and wheel wells as the added weight is likely what was causing the vibration. I did just that and problem solved. Never been here but these guys have earned my business for life in the future because they are good humans and didn't go for a money grab. Thanks gents!
