I have bringing my vehicles to Landsdowne Auto for years. I can't say enough about Gary, who I believe has now retired, and Lorraine. They set the standard for customer service and speak the truth about what needs to be done. I have been in a couple of "I need it fixed right away because..." and they do everything to make it happen. Even if I moved out of Victoria I would drive my car(s) back to this place.

Finally a trustworthy mechanic. The experienced and knowledgeable staff at Lansdowne Auto are in it for the greater good, and not just a paycheck. I had a vehicle inspected for repurchase value. Gary kept me in the loop for what he found, average $ amt fixations, required fixes and non-required fixes. If your looking for a good mechanic / good garage LOOK NO FURTHER.

Pretty awesome prices, changing my shop to come here whenever I need. They'll even clean the inside of your car a bit, which is a nice change from getting in and finding grease on the wheel and dirt on the floormats.

Stay away from this shop. Massive rip off, charged me more than 500 dollars just to change sway bar links. Quoted me 350 for a exhaust gasket repair that a different shop just did for less than 100 dollars. I also had them inspect my vehicle and they missed a massive problem that was super obvious. Don't trust these guys for anything, go somewhere else.

Affordabel and awesome service. I went for oil change and check up on my car. I was able to drop it off in the morning before work and pick it up after work, only downside is that they don’t offer ride service. However I work in walkable distance so it wasn’t a problem.

I have a lot of trouble with finding mechanics who are genuine and don't lie through their teeth about the problem. This shop fixed an oil leak and I knew enough about cars to know they were genuine. Fixed what needed to be fixed and didn't lie to get more money.

Did an out-of-province inspection here. There was a long list of issues, so I wanted to shop around for fixes elsewhere. All issues that they found were legitimate and I would have to do them in near future regardless of the inspection, so I'm happy they found them early and now my car is safer to drive.

We've used them before and the work has always been good. Staff are good in informing us what needs servicing next, but aren't pushy. So far nothing major has been done here so I can't give 5 stars yet.

Took my car with a fuel leak, they replaced the fuel hose. Drove the car for a few weeks then started leaking fuel at the same spot. Brought it back to the same shop, they replaced the fuel hose again and I paid for it .The car was parked and hasn't been driven since...I started it this morning and fuel started leaking all over the garage floor at the same spot where the hose was replaced the last couple time!

Really good place to go for auto/car stuff. Been going here for 3 years, staff have always given excellent service and advice; definitely not pushy. They even forewent the fee on my oil change after determining I didnt need it. Oil changes do tend to take longer, but come with a full inspection and car wash, so definitely worth the wait. Would highly recommend.

Gary and Lorraine run a supremely good mechanic business. I had a potential problem with my engine block, which I found out myself, cleaning oil out of spark plug wells. I called Gary to discuss. In this brief phone call, Gary immediately offered details and even a diagnostic, which impressed me with his skill and generosity. So, I dropped my car off for them to fix. Lorraine kept in touch with phone calls and ended up telling me the problem wasn't as bad as a I feared — they recommended not doing the job. So I left with a tiny bill compared to the hours of work they could have charged. I only wish all consultants and businesses were as skilled and honest as Gary and Lorraine.
