They do good, prompt work and I've never felt as if I've been overcharged or charged for unnecessary work. My appointment was supposedly at 1pm for MVI. I called to ask if I could drop off my vehicle in the morning. No questions asked and the lady was so accommodating. A few minutes later, she called me that they're working on my vehicle; needed new front brakes. Reasonably priced and friendly staff.

Got our vehicle in the same day we called and provided great service. Replaced the muffler and tail pipe which had fallen apart the previous day. Had it towed to the Dealer Service Department the same afternoon the tail pipe fell off. Next morning they called to say it couldn’t be welded and suggested we take to a muffler shop as it would be very expensive for them to special order a muffler and tail pipe in since they don’t specialize in these items. They just sell and service but don’t make mufflers and pipes. They said we could come get the vehicle and drive it back across to Halifax. Would of been nice to be told to go somewhere else for exhaust system work when we called about our problem the previous day when it fell apart. Would of had it towed there not across to Dartmouth. Anyway we called Speedy Auto Service in Herring Cove and just a few hours later they were doing the work. Everyone there were friendly and helpful. Would recommend them to anybody needing any vehicle repair or maintenance.

All was well until warranty comes up. NO HAZARD WARRANTY ON WINTER TIRES...they do NOT specify as such on the invoice and over the phone told me they would cover it. A bump formed on my tire from one of the many pot holes in the city. The invoice does state a one year warranty exists but apparently that is at the whim of them to decide whats covered! Outrageous, bad business ethics. Will not be spending another dime here. (Ps Canadian tire does 5 year hazard warranty NO extra cost)

Absolutely great! I'm astounded at how ethical and straightforward they are. Steered me away from an overly expensive repair on a 2013 vehicle (dealership was pushing me to get this repair) that would have generated other repairs that would have taken the vehicle off the road. I took their advice (& it was detailed & valuable) and traded in the vehicle before it cost me thousands of dollars in useless repairs (and was still at the point where I got a decent trade-in value). I'm now driving a brand new vehicle that is reliable and great to drive. I would recommend them to anyone.

I brought my 2007 Chev Cobalt in for an MVI. I ended up having to get some work done to ready the car for the road, and let me just say that these guys were fantastic. I spoke with Paul about the repairs and he provided a quote and said they would do their best to hit that price or be close. I ended up paying exactly what was quoted, no work was done prior to communicating with me, and for what I considered to be extensive work.....they had the car back to me by the end of the day.....Great Job guys, I will be back in the future!!

There was a lady getting work done on her exhaust (catalytic converter) to which i was eaves dropping the conversation in the waiting room. They tried to say it was $1000 for the part alone, i then informed her she could get it MUCH cheaper online ($350) to which the staff tried to argue with me, tell me i didnt know anything and tried to tell lies to the poor ole woman. I told her to go somewhere else as they clearly only wanted to drain her of money. Would not reccomend unless you want to get ripped off.

The gang at speedy was excellent. Great Service Great Knowledge Great Suggestions for my exhaust work that I had done. They even saved me $$$$ by suggesting a better option. I had no issues and would suggest them to others for any type of automobile service. Great Job Speedy South, Herring Cove. :-)

Today I went to Speedy Auto and I'm glad I did. I had an exhaust leak from one of my flex pipes. Glenn offered a few different options for me and was on board with whatever I chose. Glenn is a honest guy and doesn't try to do shady business and upsell like some of the other auto shops. I highly recommend this shop as prices are very reasonable and I will be back in the future.

I swear these guys are where the term "honest mechanic" originated from. I've been bringing my car here for the past 2 years and have nothing but good to say about the ownership and their team. Can't even count the number of times they've DOWN sold me on work I wanted done, because it either wasn't necessary (I'm a desk jockey, don't know a tie rod from a tire iron) or they could do it for cheaper than what I was requesting. If you're looking for trustworthy people, you've found the right place.

Partner and I came into Halifax from Ontario and had a section of our exhaust system break (incredibly loud, made the whole car vibrate, nasty stuff). After being turned away from a Canadian Tire because their exhaust guy was away for the week, we tried this particular Speedy and were very happy we did. The staff was incredibly friendly and managed to get us in immediately. They offered us a very fair price and had that section of exhaust patched and ready to go in under an hour. Saved us a lot of trouble and put our minds at ease for the 20ish hour drive home we have coming up. Can't recommend this auto service enough.

With more than a decade of exceptional service I feel that I must share what a wonderful business this is. Our most recent interaction for the Spring tire change resulted in a brake job (which we'd been warned about on the last visit) part of the job was covered under the car's third party warranty (which the dealer couldn't find although they'd sold it to us). Speedy made a number of calls to locate the warranty and then coordinated the tow of the vehicle to the dealer. A large amount of effort that they didn't need to go to! Nobody enjoys paying for car repairs but you can feel confident that you are getting a fair deal here. Thank you for the great "above an beyond" service that you provide your customers!

Glenn and the guys (and gals) here at Speedy are my go-to people. I feel that I can really trust them. I've had a large dealer here in Hali tell me I needed a new part. When I double checked with these guys, they said, a) we can do it cheaper and b) you don't need that new part in the first place. I go here for both my vehicles and I get my tires here. Note: tires are a bit more expensive here vs. Costco but they last longer. Besides, wouldn't you rather support a local guy and family run business vs Costco or Walmart?

I've been going to speedy now for about 4 years and so has my boyfriend and we've both given them lots of business.....about a week or so ago I booked an appt to have 2 vehicles looked at as I was planning on purchasing one of them. So I showed up at 850am for my 9am appt with one of the vehicles to be told by Paul that he was too busy to take me and that there was "paying customers with appointments waiting" excuse me? I had an appt and when have I ever not been a paying customer?! He told me if I waited around till 1030 they might be able to look at one of the two vehicles but that was the best they could do....this is beyond unsatisfactory.....if they were too busy to accommodate me then they shouldn't of given me an appointment and the comment was insulting and unnecessary. So I was basically screwed over badly as I had no where else to go last minute like that as I had a vehicle that wasn't mine and no one to look at it. I'm beyond upset and speedy just lost two "paying" customers.

Was there the other day for tires, oil change and mvi. Was told for my mvi I needed break pads and rotars that my suv would not pass without them. Then I said I didn’t want to purchase them there so then they tried to tell me that the mvi was done and I wasn’t aloud to leave without having my breaks done. Then I was also informed that if it had to have been 10 days prior to the end of the month they wouldn’t have let me drive away without having the work done. They told me it’s the law. I had questioned the other machnic and had asked them if that was true and they said you have up to the day of. Which my mvi wasnt up till the end of the month. So after I got everything worked out I paid for a pre inspection and my tires a hundred and some dollars later. Once I left there I went to another machanic and had my mvi done, which passed without having my breaks done and was told I will soon need pads not rotars which I was told I need both up above. I usually have good experience with these guys but from now on I’m no longer going there.

To be fair, this place does do good work. For example, when I had a strange noise tht turned out to be my calipers, this was the only place that was able to diagnose the problem. However, ypu also have to be careful and get a second opinion instead of trusting what these guys tell you. For example, when I went in for a brake inspection, they told me that my rear brakes were 60%-70% aork and that my front brakes were almost metal on metal. They then attempted to talk me into replacing the front brakes that day. I went somewhere else for a second oppinion. The other place said that my rear brKes looked brand new and that my front brakes were definitely down there but that I could probably get a few moths out of them. It is too bad, because I really want to recommend this place, but if they are not going to be completely honest about what work is required then how can I recommend them?

I went there today to get my muffler fixed. I didn't have an appointment but they still got my car in and fixed by the end of the day. Glen and his staff were great to deal with and I would go back there for service again. I have an older Toyota Camry 2004 and they just did the work that was necessary at a very fair price. Glen explained exactly what the problem was and my options in fixing it. Car sounds great now and I am pleased with the service.

My experience at Speedy Auto was great! Went in today to get my safety, but learned that I couldn't pass d/t my front windows being tinted. They called over to Novus glass and got me in right away and then did my safety as soon as I returned. Staff were super friendly and honest. I'll definitely be back :)
