I have worked on my own vehicals for the past 20 plus years and after having bad experiences with other shops, for wheel alignments, I found Scotia Tire in Cole Harbour. They take the time to do the job properly. This is the only shop I will take my car when I need alignments.

Love that I can just drop the car off in the morning for a tire and oil change, and by early afternoon, by the latest, the car will be done. Great place, close to stores if you need to wander away, and I have no complaints about the work.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience here last Friday. TL;DR Customer service wasn't on par, and attention to detail for the work done was lower than expected. I took my van in for an alignment at my scheduled appointment time. It took 1.5 hours which was a little longer than I expected it to take, but that's ok. After getting into the van, I noticed that one of the rear doors was left open, ok, that can happen by pressing the wrong button on the key fob, not a big deal. Though after getting it on the road it was immediately evident that the car was pulling to one side when the steering wheel was held straight. I took it back to the shop within 5 minutes and let Rob know what the issue was. Initially the response was that it could be my tires which I indicated were brand new and that the van drove straight prior to the alignment. He also said the van had no adjustment for pulling left or right which I took with the intent to avert blame. This is clearly not the case either, the van has tie rods. He then offered to take a look at it on Monday because there was already another car on the lift for an alignment and wouldn't be enough time left in the day to fix my car afterwards. Though after a quick discussion Rob agreed to take my car back but I would have to wait while the other car was worked on. An hour later my van is ready. This time instead of the passenger door being left ajar, the driver's window is open (this was a rainy day, btw). The alignment of the steering wheel is better than on the first attempt but still not perfectly centered. The issues with the alignment and doors, and windows being left open give me the sense that there is some lack of attention to detail going on. My real gripe is with the customer service response which was initially "It's not our fault". My final nitpick is on the waiting area and washroom. The chairs are extremely worn out and the washroom is a normal size but the sink is a mini corner bar sink that doesn't drain.

I went to 975 Cole Harbour Rd, Dartmouth Scotia tire and found the worst service in Nova scotia. Though there was a different way to fix my gas tank problem, they told me that there is no way without changing the whole gas tank. With mechanic charge, they took total 900 dollars. When I was driving back home, my exhaust fall off on the way though there was no issue with it. I went back to them instantly and they said It's not their fault at all. Also they behaved rude this time though they were super nice at the beginning. Took my car to another mechanic and he fixed the exhaust and also found that the gas tank was still leaking and has not installed properly by Scotia Tire. Cole Harbour Scotia tire provide so bad services, probably they are the worst in Canada.

Having had to wait nearly an hour to get my car, I was disappointed that none of the staff were wearing masks, yet were chatting loudly without being shielded; nor were quite a few of the clients wearing masks, while the sign on the door clearly stated that face masks should be worn. I waited outside in spite of the weather because while the waiting room was large, I didn't feel that there was sufficient ventilation. Perhaps a door could have been left open? As for the job they did changing my tires, I'm sure it was fine.

Go there for my oil change 99 percent of the time...I love the inspection they give to let you know if anything is wrong.My little sticker on windshield always reminds me when the next change is due..Although I haven't anything mechical done there..(my own mechanic)they are friendly and they actually care.

I had my winter tires changed at this location last week. All four tires were inflated to 30 psi instead of the required 36 psi. When I brought this to their attention, they refused to take any responsibility whatsoever. Instead, I was told that all 4 tires were experiencing a slow leak at exactly the same rate. That was the first and last time that I will take my business to this establishment.

I went into Scotia Tire for what I thought was a problem. They took my keys and started they will soon take my car in. Three other people.were Head of me. The gentlemen who had looked at my car and said your sure it was left front. He advised me every thing was ok and didn't charge me a cent sorry no cents now didn't charge me a dollar. Been going here since it opened and can no longer recommend. They scratched my rims, over torqued bolt and didn’t remove wheel weights from winter wheels as requested. And the shocker was the cost. Way overpriced for the work done should’ve been just over 100 maybe 120 but nope 150 just for tire change over on rims and remove bald tires from winter rims.

They seem to do good work, however they like money as most garages do. Under quote on phone to get on job, then add more later. If you get a price, make sure that's what you pay. Most garages use a book time on jobs which allows much more time than necessary. Also parts are delivered to the shop from a supplier which is the most expensive as the supplier and garage want big mark ups. If you want to save money, have work quoted, then if you have time, order parts online, and have a cheaper mechanic install. On the the types of jobs this garage does it's not hard to save 75% on brake or suspension work. Internet is your friend for low cost parts.

I called to make an appointment to get my winter tires put on my vehicle and was told they do first come first served, but that because my tires are on rims it shouldn't take more than an hour. I arrived at 8:30 a.m. to drop off my car and they said it will actually be more like 2 hours. Ok no problem. I go to a nearby Tim’s, wait 2.5 hours and then call for an update. I'm then advised that it will be another 2 hour wait. I needed to go to work so I had to just pick up my vehicle without the work done. What a waste of my morning. If they need 4.5 hours to change tires on rims, the least they could have done was been upfront on the wait time so I'm not sitting around all morning just to leave empty handed.
