Friendly staff, good prices and got the job done on a same day request. Called when they opened on a Saturday and they got my car in for an oil change before 1. Had my own oil and filter to use and it cost $46 all in. Staff was great to deal. Would recommend if you need an oil change!

Firstly, they were good enough to fit me in short notice and didn't mind when I rescheduled and waited for the repair. Had an appointment to weld on a new rear exhaust, when they had it on the hoist (free estimates!) they noticed holes in the cadilidic converter and front pipe. They took me out and showed me, gave me the option to continue or wait and have the whole thing done so they didn't "double charge me on the labour". I said to go ahead then changed my mind 10 minutes later, they had just started the work but put everything back together anyway for me and didn't charge me for it. I insisted on giving them at least something for the effort but Jim refused. Great team in there, friendly and courteous (even held the doors for me), I'll definitely be back to have the big job done by the Mighty staff.

Sloppy work, bad customer service. Had to fight with them to replace a part I knew was defective and then when they finally agreed to do the work installed an OEM part at more than twice the cost of the aftermarket one. I even called the dealership to make sure of the price and availability and told them what to ask for and still they ordered the wrong one and tried to charge me for it. I would have let that go because they did try to make it right by giving me a good price on some new tires but I just went to put my winter tires on and found my lug nuts rounded off. Thanks boys, you suck.

I thought I had great service (they squeezed me in to fix a major issue with my car) until I realized afterwards that they lied when they told me my inspection sticker was up. I thought I had a few months left but they called to update me on my car and said I have been driving around with an expired sticker. I told them they were incorrect and they persisted. So I thought, maybe I was seeing things. A few weeks ago I got a call from my dealership stating my sticker will be up soon and I should book now before the busy season hits. I KNEW IT! I knew I wasn't crazy. But whatever, whats done is done. I just wont take my car here again as I am unsure if the $$ I paid for a major was all worth it or true.

Even thought I have only been here a few times I have always had a great experience at this location and have left feeling happy. The men who work here are kind and I always feel at ease. They do prioritize the customers needs. I usually wait for my car in the office and so I get to observe many interactions and they really do treat their customers well. In my case I had a mix up and the owner was really understanding and went out of his way to make me happy because he truly wanted to provide a good experience. So I really appreciate this business. I will be back and I highly recommend!!

I've been to a ton of car repair places in Halifax and Dartmouth, none of them compare to these guys. They're great at repairs, give thoughtful recommendations, honest, and always ready to lend a hand. The waiting room is quaint, they have a tv and a small soda can machine for refreshments while waiting. There's also a Tim Hortons right up the road if you're waiting around for a while and need a snack

Car had major exhaust issue While having tires done at Canadian tire had the guy take a look and they said they would have to order the whole system costing 2k +.. Took it over to JIm at Mighty Auto as my family does all our cars for repairs. He did it all same day for $1100 few parts and welded some metal in and the car is sounding perfect. Going to Mighty saved me 1k. These guys are the best.

I called the Lady Hammond location to inquire about parts to be put on my vehicle. I was rudely and abruptly told that "we dont put on other people's parts". He offered no solution at all and hung up the phone. Luckily I had much better luck with a different local Mighty Auto. They agreed to put the parts on without issue. I would recommend calling a different Location and use Lady Hammond as a last resort.

Had some brake work done there. They told me I had about 15-30% rear brakes left. I was hesitant on this because I had new brakes put on in the summer. After I had taken my car back home a few weeks later to my mechanic he told me my brakes still had plenty of life left on them and were no where near needing to be replaced.

Daughter brought in my suv which she is using at university to get a set of pads put on one side due to a unglued pad. They gave her free brake inspection which then cost her 171.20 for all new lugs nuts , 97.00 for removal of seized lugs plus tax. This was done without her consent. They seen a young lady as a cash grab . Shame on this Ripp off company

This is a great shop. I'm not a car guy at all and these guys did not take advantage of that. Instead they walked me through all my problems. The sales manager at the front "Matt" would often draw pictures to explain to me how parts worked. He gave me background to the bill. Often I would drop off my car and get a free lift to work or if it was a weekend they'd give me the company beater. I never felt I got ripped off by the pricing. You can get a deal anywhere but with that you sacrifice quality of service. It's like buying the same stereo from futureshop instead of peak audio. Good luck for that great service if you need a repair at FS. Good shop. Ask for Mighty Matt.

I had two broken exhaust pipes, before and after the muffler. The car sounded like there was a chainsaw strapped to the bottom of it. The dealership wanted $1000 to replace the entire muffler and tailpipe assembly. Mighty Auto did some custom welding and pipework, kept the existing muffler, and charged me $210, taxes in. No more chainsaw, and a very happy customer.

I came here once, and was treated rudely by the guy at the counter. I have a mild Australian accent that no one else in Canada has ever had trouble understanding, but this guy treated me like I was speaking a different language, and made me repeat and spell out everything multiple times, while acting as though I was being a huge nuisance. I'd booked in for an oil change and mentioned while booking a couple of issues I knew my car had, and asked if they could look into those as well if they had time on the day. The guy I talked to wasn't even aware of my oil change appointment, and since he apparently couldn't understand a word I was saying it was pointless to even bring up the other issues. I'm sure they're fine to go to if you don't have an accent and you just want something basic done, but if you want someone who will actually talk to you about your concerns and problems with your car, it's a no go.

I just came back from Mighty Auto and I'm an incredibly happy customer! The exhaust on my Jetta was making a terrible racket and Jim made and welded on a new sleeve to replace the one that had rotted away. He checked the rest of the pipes and pronounced them solid. the entire thing was done in an hour and cost well under 200 - warm, friendly, knowledgeable service. I will be going back there and I'm highly recommending them to anyone who asks... and also to people who don't ask:). FABULOUS!

Just got off the phone with a M.Auto rep re: my daughter's Corolla. She replace an OE starter on her 06 Corolla 4 June, 19' at Mighty Auto: $438. tax inc. The same starter had to be replaced today, just over year of low mileage use. Got it done in Sydney, $312.tax inc. Our Corolla's original starter lasted 13 years, 260K kms. Mighty Auto's starter lasted less than 2 weeks past the 1 year warranty. Lesson: Mighty Auto parts are junk.

Had to go back a couple of times for some adjustment with no questions and took me in right away. This shop will do their best to get you back on the road for sure. Booked an appointment a week in advance for exhaust repair, wheel alignment, and inspection. Made arrangements to drop off vehicle and borrow a friends car for the day. Dropped in at end of the day, and nothing done, alignment machine was to busy, couldn't fix exhaust leak, didn't have material or pieces to use, and couldn't inspect the vehicle. Never again will i go to a mighty auto, the worst service i have ever received. It was at Lady Hammond store.

Went in to drop my vehicle off this morning for an appointment that I made 10 days ago. I told them at the time that I believed it was an issue with my fuel level sensor. I was told the appointment was made for that day so as to have the best suited person for the job in the shop. When I showed up this morning, they tell me that they don't want to do the job and recommend that i take it elsewhere in Dartmouth. I can understand if the job is beyond their job description, but why wasn't this information relayed at the time the appointment was made or on any of the multiple days between the day the appointment was made and the day that I had to make arrangements for someone to pick me up when I dropped the vehicle off. Considering the the number of jobs that I given them in the last few months, it certainly wasnt because they didn't have a number to reach me at.

I have been taking my cars to Might Auto since I moved to Halifax in 2013. I have had lemons for cars and have always been impressed with their service. However, I recently took my car in as there was a strong smell of fuel. They informed me that they would need to replace my entire gas tank which included taking off the back end; a huge job. I had already put a significant amount of money into this car and was just sick of it. So, I told them not to proceed with the work as it was time I got a new car. My parents took the car and had their mechanic look at it. It was only a leak in the gas tank which cost them $258. I was lead to believe that it was a much higher cost for the work that needed to be done. I now question all the other work they have done for me. They are very friendly and have good customer service, but I would recommend getting a second opinion on any work before proceeding with Mighty Auto.

Took a 40 year old Fiat in to them for an exhaust repair and modification and to be fair I was a little apprehensive because I knew it probably would have to be hand made. Jim called me with a price, it sounded expensive on the phone but when I actually saw the result it was totally money well spent. Fabulous job they did. A garage where their PR is better than their mechanics skills. I had asked them to replace wheel bearings and I ended up with new brake pads and rotors. Typical of a lesser garage. I even had to go back and have then adjust the pad sensor since it made the brakes squeal...still squealing to this day.

The most honest place in Halifax. I look like a city Yuppie that doesn't know anything about cars, but have been working on cars all of my life. I live in an apartment so I'm not allowed to do any car repairs myself in my driveway so have no choice but to take it to a garage for repairs. I took my car here already knowing what the problem was and what the fix was but I played dumb to see what they would say. I walked in clean cut and wearing a suit. They were straight up and honest about everything and explained what needed to be done. They earned a lifetime customer that day.

I had been a customer at Mighty Auto for over 10 years. I liked dealing with Matt and their Halifax location was very convenient. We’re all creatures of habit; I continued to go there for repairs even as the number of sloppy repairs started to increase. I was at the shop once waiting for my truck and Matt was on the phone apologizing to a customer about a mistake that had been made. When he finished the conversation he placed his head on the counter and said “Why do we F@#$% up so much”. I should have taken by business somewhere else!!!! This is my last experience with Mighty Auto. I had the brakes replaced. They said the lower ball joints were bad and suggested replacing them. I had them replaced. When I drove the car home I found the steering wheel was not lined up and that the wheels would not turn properly. I took it back to Matt and said the wheel alignment was not done properly, the wheels did not turn properly and I could hear the bearings on the left tire when driving on the highway. Matt said that their wheel alignment machine was old it was an issue he had with the owner, and that since the lower ball joints were new they were stiff. He said the bearings were fine. The mechanic who did the work even drove the truck and iterated the same sentiment. The bearings failed about 4 months later and the new guy at the counter wanted to charge me to replace them. I had to fight with him and pointed out that the issue went back to when the brakes were replaced. The new guy said if you had brought it back then we could have done something. I TOLD HIM I HAD BROUGHT IT BACK BUT HE WAS NOT LISTENING!! I called Matt who is now working at a different location and they finally agreed to replace them under warranty. The repair was still not done properly and I can still hear the bearings though not as bad as before. Another 4 months and the lower ball joints they installed failed. They had not been greased. I had them replaced at another shop (I wanted the job done properly) and called Matt. He had the excuses they were probably defective, can’t see how that would fail I’m sure they were pre-lubed, they weren't. Matt is a very personable person that’s why we went back there for so long. The reality is Mighty Auto does sloppy work and I would not recommend them at all. I was a customer for over 10 years who used to recommend him to friends look how they treated me!!!!
