DISAPPOINTED - I had some significant work that I needed on my 2010 Dodge Challenger. Went in and explained, and they initially seemed very helpful. Due to the detail they said they would need a few days so they could properly look into it and give me some options, fair enough. I waited a week and called to follow up, and was then asked for my email address so they could send me the info., which they implied would be very soon. I NEVER heard back, no call, no email, no nothing, it's now been at least 5 weeks since then. The death of service, unfortunate as I tend to be a VERY loyal customer when I receive a reasonable level of service.

Kyle is very honest and great. I went to fix the muffler but he didn't replace the muffler but ended up spending about an hour trying to find out the issue. (NO CHARGE!!!) He realized that transmission has some issue. He could just replace the muffler and charge me for the service but he told me to go to see transmission people before he replace the muffler. I have been going to this place and Kyle always go for extra miles for me to make sure everything is okay. Thank you, Kyle!

Dealt with Short Stop twice so far. 1) Had a loud muffler, I suspected was a flange gasket connecting the cat to the pipe. Took it to a 'reputable, well-known' muffler shop, quoted me a replacement from the header back...Short Stop had a look, took 2sec to diagnose the gasket and fixed it for under $100 same day. 2) Had a bad bearing ( I drive an old Subaru), wasn't the easiest of fixes. When they called to say they broke the spindle while trying to remove the bearing,and I wasn't too surprised (the car is 14years young). They sourced another of the broken part, put it in and also fixed a bad ABS sensor. However, there was an issue with the bearing they installed, as it was no better than the original problem (after a quick day or two of driving, was still humming/grinding). I brought it into Short Stop and they took it in and re-set the bearing all over again. Zero issues with it since, and they didn't charge me a cent more than the original quote + the small fee for the additional part they sourced. No extra labour, and repeatedly problem-solved until they fixed the problem. Will return, nice to have a shop that does quality work, honest, and fair quotes and service. I'd recommend them to folks for sure.

Taking your car to the mechanic for issues outside of regular maintenance can be unnerving. For those of us that do not possess an understanding of technical automobile repair, the diagnosis of the issue(s) in question can be perplexing to say the least. Adding to the dilemma, is the typical exorbitant costs and lengthy wait times required to get your car or truck back on the road. Since my first experience with a clutch and flywheel repair, these uncertainties have been completely receded. Over the years I have taken three different automobiles to Kyle, and with each visit he has taken the time to explain (in layman's terms) and point out any and all issues. In addition, he makes the effort to present all available solutions to the problem. Suffice to say, Short Stop Brake & Muffler is a place of integrity and the willingness to go the extra mile for you and your vehicle. Highly recommend.

I went in for a cracked header. They fixed it. I left Shortstop and went straight to the ferry. When I drove up the mountain on the other side, I noticed my vehicle started smoking like crazy. I pulled over, (and filmed all of this), and my radiator cap was not replaced properly. I had my vehicle towed back to Shortstop, and when I asked them about it (including showing them the video of me opening the hood and seeing the issue), the manager said it was more likely somebody on the ferry tampered with my radiator cap!!! <- a 40 minute ferry, and my dog was in the car. They never admitted responsibility, and I paid full price to get everything fixed. Plus towing. Including a new belt (which squeals less than a year later).

Went to Supertech Auto based on the the reviews. On my first visit, I brought a potential car in to get a pre-purchase inspection. They saved me from buying a complete lemon and provided a thorough inspection report! Once I purchased a car I brought it back here to get the rear brakes done, oil change and diagnose some oil leaks. Brakes were fairly priced, oil change was straight forward and they were able to shampoo the engine and add dye to diagnose the leaks. Reason its not a 5 star is the recommended services that did not need to be done + not gong over and beyond. They inspected my car and provided a report which suggested I change the cabin air filter ($120+tax). I checked the cabin air filter myself and it was perfectly clean and in new condition. They also recommended doing a tire rotation ($42+tax). While this is true, the shops I've been going to for years would have rotated the tires for me while doing the brakes.

Very good price. Had my muffler replaced from the catalytic converter back with great workmanship. Also re-installed my speedo line without hesitations and filled my clutch fluid cause the mechanic seen it was low. No troubles at all. Very old fashioned service. Great place!!

I brought my car in for a service and the team at SuperTech did an awesome job! There was some miscommunication and issues that came up but they promptly admitted fault and rectified said issues. Alexis and Dannelle handled everything very professionally and I am very satisfied. The technicians Tim and Pete were very approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. Supertech auto was amazing, I saw their google reviews online and decided to give them a shot, I went in for a diagnostic to check on a few of my concerns with my Jeep Wrangler, it only took them a little to send me an online report, not only did the report show me what i was concerned with but they did a full inspection on my Jeep and told me what was needing to be replaced ASAP as well as coming up. The receptionist at Supertech introduced me to their “Jeep Guru” named Tim who was amazing! Not only did he take the time to talk to me about my concerns with my jeep but he even did a test drive with me, to confirm the issues. There has been an ownership change. I used to go there because my breaks and muffler would be repaired in the most cost effective way time and time again. I had discovered the best match. Lately I was told I needed to change all pads and all rotors on a 132Kkm Sonata which is clearly not balanced advice. I still give them 2 stars for the very detailed report with pictures, they gave me.

Was hoping for a better experience based on all the positive reviews. Please read the last line of this review. Firstly their staff were polite, courteous, and responsive. I made my appointment and everything was running smoothly. I knew I needed a new exhaust but wanted some other items on the vehicle checked. When I received the phone call regarding the cost and go-ahead I was a little surprised by what items were being offered. To me the they seemed like unnecessary add-ons. I refused the extra service but gave the go-ahead for the exhaust. The work was done quickly and seems solid enough. My issues with the add-ons were: Air cleaner - ($29) Mine was dirty and I needed a new one. Umm no, I have a very good Tack-oil foam air filter. I cleaned and re-oiled it about 300km ago. I asked about this and was told that the problem was the ipad being used for the service check. There is not a "Mechanic does not like Tack-oil foam air filters" button. I understand this confusion now but when I was called and simply told that my filter was dirty it raised a huge red flag for me. Engine wash - ($80) Need to wash the engine to look for the minor oil leak I mentioned. Again, when I dropped off the car I told Kyle where the leak was. Drivers side, 3rd bank. My engine is very clean and I knew where the leak is coming from. Again, a red flag. The bill - "Can I see the bill please?" "I'll print the bill once you pay." was the reply. Yes, I had agreed to the price on the phone but was more than a little surprised to see that the exhaust was expensive but the labor was zero. I should have pressed for a better bill but was a little disillusioned. I get the idea of a flat-rate for an exhaust change-out but this was never communicated to me. Itemize your bills please or make it clear at the beginning. The big reason I brought the vehicle in and didn't change the exhaust myself. I think I have a leak in the exhaust header. I specifically asked and was very clear about this but it was not checked. Maybe it was missed when I refused the engine wash for the oil leak. I asked the mechanic who checked the car and changed the exhaust and he said no, it wasn't checked. All this said. I would go there again. I believe there were some minor mistakes and miscommunications and I take responsibility if I caused some of those. I strongly believe that this shop wasn't trying to be dishonest. The job they did complete was quality work. Please give them a try.

I can’t say enough about this Auto Repair Shop. After calling a small handful of shops that I trust on the north shore, nobody could take me in this Jan 2nd 2020. Although I didn’t know them, Supertech was the only shop that would take me in right away. Once my car was in their hands it became obvious that Alexis was not just the receptionist but a professional service advisor who was able to dig up the parts needed to complete the job and to keep me informed along the way. Not always easy when your car is 34 years old I might add. Knowing how important it was for me to have my car ready before the weekend, not only did they get it done as promised but also within their initial price estimate. That Friday evening I got a call from Alexis to say my car was ready. Knowing how important it was for me to have the car ready for the weekend she offered to stay until I arrived by cab to pick it up. Where do you find that service anymore. I’m happy to have found this shop and would gladly recommend it to anyone.

I found my Mustang shop. I am super sensitive where I bring my low kms 2014 Mustang GT to for upgrades and modifications. I want to say that Alexis and her team of pro's are knowledgable and excellent at listening. I have brought my Mustang in for inspection on a body panel leak (fixed), engine performance upgrades, performance suspension and now a GT500 Ford Performance rear bumper conversion, side skirts and rear splitters. I honestly can't say enough of about them. They are experts in their field (especially Fords), really well priced and actually bill you for the time they work on your car. You know that feeling you get when you think a shop is charging more time than you think they should. That does NOT happen here. I appreciate how honest they are. I have ordered a GT500 front bumper conversion and will see Supertech this spring/summer for this work.

Friendly, honest and excellently priced. I was going to sell my vehicle but there was a hole in the exhaust. One place (the one with the golden touch) quoted over $1500 after I explained I needed a cheap quick fix, and this was actually a minimum. Ridiculous. But a quick trip over to Dennis at ShortStop and he gave a quick assessment, and then when my car was up on the ramp phoned me to confirm it was my resonators. Instead of replacing an excessively expensive part, he fixed it. Actually both as both had blown. The price was a tiny fraction of the other place. More recently I decided to give my car a basic winter service and make sure everything was running ok for the colder weather. The guy understood exactly what was needed and turned it around in a couple hours. They were totally honest about everything and just replaced parts that needed replacing, and even phoned about a $16 part to make sure I was ok with it. Unless you maintain your own vehicle or have endless pockets, car ownership can be a bit of a nightmare when it comes to maintenance. But the guys at ShortStop on Marine Drive provide an excellent service, a sensible approach to maintenance, and at reasonable prices. They'll get my business every time!

Shortstop quoted over $600 saying a new muffler was required. My husband took the vehicle to Muffler Man in Burnaby who charged $65 total (yes, over $535 less than the Shortstop quote) because it was such an easy repair (which Muffler Man in Burnaby completed in 30 min). I am not sure why the shortstop quote was so very different ... quite the disappointment.

The first time I found the shop was by accident and I couldn't be happier. I had a nail in my tire and the shop was close and about to close. Kyle took great care of me 5 minutes before closing for the day. Since then I've never gone anywhere else even though I live in Burnaby. They are worth the driving effort. One of the things I appreciate the most is that they always talk to me like I'm intelligent. Being a woman walking into a mechanics shop can be extremely frustrating. Many times shops have tried to take advantage of me thinking I don't know anything. But everyone at this shop has been good to me. I bought an active exhaust system from roush for my mustang and installed here. This is a very expensive exhaust system and I asked Shortstop if they are confident with this. They guaranteed that they are able to install it for me. The recommendation time on the manual is 7.5 hours and instead they spent 3 wholes days to install it for me. Fortunately they charged me 1000 dollars which should be around 8 hours labor fees. However the story doesn't end up here. My exhaust didn't work after a few months, and I sent it to Ford and they examined it for me. They told me not only all the wires were messed around inside the car, the exhaust pipe was damaged during installation and a few screws ware installed in the opposite way so that the back-up sensor wasn't working properly. Now I have to pay another 1000 dollars to get this exhaust fixed. I hate to say but I got so mad because I spent way too much money on this exhaust than it should be. I know this exhaust system is very complex to install but if you can't guaranteed to install it, don't take the job because I can always find someone else.

High end work and very honest place. You get a sense of what they are all about right when you walk in the door. Definitely recommend.

I've been bringing my vehicles to Kyle and Dennis for years for routine brake, exhaust and general repairs. Their estimates don't creep up, and my car is finished by the time promised. The one time I had to wait longer than estimated on a repair was because Kyle stayed late to finish an intake manifold gasket replacement on my vehicle (a common and labourious problem with my model of Nissan). They did the repair for half the price that I would have paid at another shop. Never a hard sell with these guys, and they explain repairs (before and after) very clearly.
