I called before going I. For an oil change. I was told it would be $30 because I was bringing my own oil and filter. When I got to the shop I was told by someone else it would be $60, after telling the guy I just spoke to someone on the phone he went to ask the guy I spoke to then came back saying it was still $60. Total waste of time, why give me a price for a clear cut job over the phone then try to change it when I come in. This just tells me this location isn’t trust worthy. However I called the Mavis in Edison, I was quoted $30 over the phone and paid the same price when I arrived. If you go to any Mavis in the area go to the on 1610 Woodbridge Ave, Edison, NJ 08817 The manager Sheldon here was very pleasant and as I stated earlier didn’t change the price on arrival, which at least makes me trust the location more than the other

Good guys! I made online reservation (appointment) a couple of days prior my visit. I ordered new tires. Then I called to verify my reservation and to clarify what to expect. I received the verification that they have the tires I ordered in the warehouse and they will be delivered to the service center I selected by the day and time of my appointment. I got to the service center by the time of my appointment, we agreed the scope of works again with the manager, and I dropped-off the car for a couple of hours. When I received a call that the car is ready, I came back to the store and paid the service. Everything was clear, aesy, and as expected. Thanks guys!

I went to this shop when I noticed a grinding sound while braking/turning. I figured there was something wrong with my brakes, but I know literally nothing about cars. The staff was incredibly helpful and professional. They did a full diagnostic and showed me exactly what needed to be done, and even remedied a problem that other shops told me couldn’t be fixed. Gary and Ruben were very friendly and accommodating, and helped get my car back in working order while being mindful of my budget. I also commend them for maintaining their professional demeanor while dealing with impatient customers that came into a full (socially distanced) waiting room demanding their vehicles be serviced first. I’ll be happy to return to this location whenever something goes wrong with my car.

I came to this place with my friend for oil change. On Sunday most of the places were closed but we found this place and called several time but no body picked up the phone. We tried again and luckily some one pick up the phone and he said we can come so he took name and phone number and all info he needs. He even send my friend a confirmation number. We went there and the front office was closed. We tried to open the door to make sure and we saw a guy coming from inside. He was shouting and yelling to us. He was like what is this, you can’t see by showing to a door. We got shocked by his behavior because he can even say nicely to us. We don’t understand why they took our info and even sent us a confirmation number.

Very dishonest! Long waits! Appointments don't matter. There first time I got my pads done here on my car, they upsold me rotors as well. I said what the heck and got it done even though they were still good. The brake job took 3 hours even with an appointment. They didn't pull in the car for 1.5 hours. The second time on another car, they tried to upsell me rotors again but I said I'll just keep the ones I had, so they refused to change the pads for the $99 special price. They also said I had a seized locked caliper. After refusing the job, the manager calls me back 2 minutes later saying he can do the brake job only but won't give me any warranty, because in 2 weeks the pads would disintegrate apparently. I took the car to Nani's auto repair 5 minutes away for another quote and Nani told me there was nothing wrong with the caliper and he did the brake job for much cheaper. He also said the rotors were fine. I asked Nani to double check the caliper and still he found no issue. I'm never going to another Mavis. I also read online that Mavis has been known to charge you for work that was never done. Just search falsified receipts Mavis on Google.

I had such a nice experience both over the phone with Omar and also in the shop with Rubin and Gary! They explained everything to me before doing anything and didn’t push me to get anything done that I didn’t need. I normally go to Mavis when I lived in Plainfield and the service was good but pricy. I went to this one in New Brunswick and it was phenomenal. I dropped off my car (VW Jetta) yesterday at 1:30 and just picked it up at 11:30 this morning. I went in with my two tires on the passenger side acting funny, and once I picked it up, they explained to me in terms I understood what went wrong and told me that they took care of it. I was shocked because they waived the fee for fixing it and I got to go home with my car completely fixed! I’m definitely returning to this Mavis when I have other issues with my car.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I had a slow leak in my tire that i didn’t know about until I was rolling around with an almost-flat. The guys here are prompt and professional. Omar didn’t even charge me for the work because i just had a nail stuck in my tire and it didn’t require much of a repair. I’m 100% satisfied and I will be a returning customer. I would give 0 if possible I had an appointment for 4pm at 5pm when my car was still not even next I took my keys and left. I was told by Omar an appointment is not a guarantee and it is someone at home watching the news that books those not the people at the shop so there was nothing he could do. The last thing that you want to deal with after a long day at work is the tire pressure light coming on. Worse yet is finding out that it's not the quick fix of adding air, but a nail in the tire. I took my car to Mavis hoping to get a quick plug. Although they were extremely busy, Gary let me know that he would do his best to take care of it. He allowed me to leave the car with a promise to try squeezing me in and calling me when it was done. I was pleasantly surprised to have the job done much sooner than I expected and I could not have beat the price anywhere else. It is a hit or miss with this location. Some days they are fast quick and easy. Some days (fri sat sun) they are booked and can’t get in. They guys at the desk are welcoming and always able to help answer any questions you may have. Unfortunately booking an appointment is pointless. It’s still first come first serve. Yet once your in their system they tend to remember you. Which is a plus.

This has become my go-to shop for repairs and maintenance. Omar and the team members I've interacted with are always pleasant, helpful, and very importantly, do not try to upsell. My last trip there I brought in my mother's 09 Focus. It needed a bunch of work, which I knew going in, but rather than try and lump it all in at once, Omar explained which work should be handled first, and what could wait until later if I wanted to avoid a hefty bill. After having all 4 tires replaced and aligned, balancing and rotation done, they still managed to mess up the balancing , went back and forth 4 times. They tried to make a simple balancing job seem like something else to make profit, went to another shop and got it fixed right away. Would give 0 stars if I could. Would not recommend. They tried to fool me!! Discussed and agreed upon getting 2 Rear Goodyear tires while dropping my car, but when I went to pick up my car they had put Mavis Tire's. They tried to sell me off saying the mavis tire has better rating and I would just agree upon, Later they said they have only 1 Goodyear tire in inventory, which I had already guessed that they don't have inventory. I asked them to change and they had to get it from Highland Park. Wasted half of my day and thank you for making me feel cheated. Is this how you do business? The previous day, I had called them to get a quote, there was probably a communication gap and I heard Michelin tires and when I went to change my tires, they said the quote was on "vee rubber" tires, I let it go thinking that I heard it wrong and asked them to put the Goodyear tires, which they then changed to Mavis when I went to pick my car thinking that I will let this go as well. Like Seriously??

such a horrible custumer service, i found this place on google and i called them several times but they didnt pick my phone, luckly they pick my phone and i asked them that "do i need to book appointment for oil change or not, they said you can walk in now and they asked my all information and they even send conformation code.after that i went there after 10 minute and gate was close but somebody was there inside and i called them from side door but the guy came and started shouting using bad words , n i asked him sir y when i called, you said store open but now its close and y u got angry with me, after that he said non of ur business and he close that door. this is my first time with them and it was worst experience ever.......if the store is close and y u guys asked my information and send conformation code ... i never recomend someone to go there...

Went in today to get my front driver tire fixed and back driver tire replaced. When I got the car back after they had the car for over 5hrs, the wrong tire was replaced and the tire to be fixed was removed. I had to wait an additional 30-40 mins for them to fix their mistake. Max was very helpful and actually wrote the description correctly in his paperwork but whoever did the actual work apparently cant follow simple instructions, after it was brought to his attention, he then attempted to tell me the tire may not be fixable.

Actually zero stars. I needed at least two tires. My car was brought in, lifted and inspected. One of the managers told me that I would need three tires. I informed him that I want Bridgestone Potenza tires. He checked inventory and informed me that they were not available. He never gave me any alternative choices from other brand name tire makers. He left, went into the garages and told the workers to start working on my car. Then he disappeared and went into hiding in the back room. Time passed. I was wondering what was happening. I walked over to my car and saw that the workers had replaced the bad tires with Mavis brand tires. The manager made the decision ON HIS OWN to provide me with four Mavis brand tires (buy three, get one free)(four Mavis brand tires for the price of three Bridgestone Potenza tires). He kept everything secret from me. I never would have accepted Mavis tires instead of Bridgestone or another brand name beforehand. If I want inexpensive tires I will go to Walmart, Sam’s Club, BJ’s, or Costco. I went to Mavis because I want a brand name. At least customers who go to any of those facilities know what to expect. The workers at those facilities are honest and upfront with customers, not despicable like this manager at Mavis. Mavis has its own line of tires and they are poor quality. I would never have voluntarily bought them. Mavis shop managers have to sell them, one way or another. I do not appreciate being treated the way I was.

Went in on a Sunday and understandably it was going to be a little bit of a wait. I was quoted a price, for two tires. Two hours later they didn't even have the tires that were quoted to me. Another hour to get the work done. In total it took three hours to replace two tires. Only reason I'm giving two stars is the guy did seem remorseful and they were opened on Sunday.

Just want to give a huge shout out to Omar and Reuben on the EXCELLENT service they provided to me this past week. Took my car in Wednesday for oil change and I knew there were other things I needed to take care of and he told me what I needed to take care of first for my own safety and did not try to scam or take advantage of my situation. Some things could wait he explained that as well but for my protection Tires, shocks and brakes, were of the most importance but the tires were not in stock and promised he would have them by Friday and to bring my car back. I dropped it off and he told me to pick it up around 3:00. In the meantime he found out that the tires were not available ANYWHERE! He had Reuben running around trying to locate them because he made a promise to a customer. Meanwhile I had no idea, he never called to get my feathers ruffled... I appreciated that he took it upon himself to make it happen and fulfill his promise. Went to pick up my car and everything was done as promised.... except, I had better tires as he upgraded them because he could not find mine anywhere. I will definitely spread the word about the customer care and service provided by these two young men. I trust them and oh yeah, discounted and the price was right on everything he repaired. I came to this Mavis branch when I had a donut and needed new quality tires immediately without being surcharged for them. I called to make an appointment with a rep Friday for Saturday morning for the repairs (apparently was at the corporate location and made general slot which wasn’t even available). When I got to the location for the repair I was told no such slot was even available and I would have to wait hours to be seen. This was a big inconvenience due to my schedule already around what I had been informed by their own rep. Dave made things very easy and assured me I would be serviced as soon as possible if an earlier window came. While waiting frustrated of course but remaining calm and patient, Ruben let me know I was good for service a lot sooner than I even anticipated. To make things better they had discounts due to COVID-19 just starting up and understanding it’s a rough time for a lot of people. I drove away with 2 sets of the tires I wanted with great customer care, empathy and satisfaction especially at such a pivotal time. You guys are solid and I appreciate the great service and hospitality!

Was recommended by a friend to check out Mavis Tires for a Break pad and rotor job. Made an apt on their website to come in for a free brake inspection. Upon arrival I was told I have to leave the car overnight. I explained I cannot leave the car and simply want to make an apt to get inspection done. They weren't willing to give any specific dates. I called East Brunswick location and scheduled an apt. Again on arrival I was told there was no one to take a look at the car despite the apt I had made. I decided to try New Brunswick location again. Called their center and made an appointment for today.. I arrived for my appointment and I am told the mechanic left for the day. I explained I spoke to the center and had made the apt and the person at front desk simply kept saying idk who you spoke to but we don't have the mechanic. Why are you bothering to provide online and over the phone reservations if you are not going to honor them? Extremely disappointed in the way all mavis locations interacted with me. Hope I never have to go to them for any automotive work.
