Brought in my BMW M3 for a much needed servicing prior to a big road trip. They found a way to fit me in on short notice and tight timelines and completed the work fast and professionally. My interactions with both Susan and Ron were professional and friendly. In my brief time interacting with them (I am not from Vancouver Island) they managed to establish a level of trust in their integrity and capabilities like few others I have dealt with. On a follow up visit after the road trip, Ron went above and beyond in investigating an issue that was unrelated to their previous work. When I return to Vancouver Island in the future, Mid Island Automotive will be my first choice for any required work routine or otherwise.

Wasn't happy with the steering for many years even after having an alignment done 11 yrs ago by Corvette Specialties, it still was not right. After loosing a couple of control arm spacers, it now for sure needed the alignment reset. Mid Island was highly recommended to me by co-workers. They did a great job on the alignment and being careful around my collector corvette, it has never driven so well and stays straight as an arrow with no pulling. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience and highly recommend them.

Ron and Susan went above and beyond to help us get back on the road. We rolled in off of the ferry (literally) with a shot master cylinder and they accommodated us into their already busy schedule. Susan gave us great suggestions on the sights, sounds and tasty eats that we should take in while stationed in Nanaimo unexpectedly for a couple of nights. Ron went to work quickly to replace the master cylinder, tighten up some belts and give us fluids that the ol' van needed to get us back on the road. I've never had a better experience at a shop ever! The price ended up being less than original quote as Ron was able to throw on that shiny new cylinder at lightning speed. I could tell right away that I had rolled into the right shop as it was super clean, organized and had a billboard covered in thank you letters. Ron gifted us a whale watching tour as we were headed to Tofino and wouldn't be able to use it himself before the expiry date. This ended up being a really cool highlight to our trip. If this shop wasn't 15 hours away from me I would always go to Mid-Island Automotive for any of my vehicles. I've told any friends and family members that I have on the island to go visit them for their routine matainence. Truly amazing service.

The amazing staff at Mid Island went over and beyond for automotive service and picked me up and assisted me with my truck and getting it to their shop. Ron is the guy, hes the kind of mechanic you almost don't want to tell people about, so that he can be available for me. But that's kind of selfish I guess. I've brought my truck there twice and had positive experiences, also its a nice non toxic place where the mechanic won't over explain or complicate things, or look for extra problems to charge for he just fixes it on time at a good price.

If you're like me - old and skeptical ;>) - you sometimes wonder when you see a place with high ratings. Well rest assured, the high ratings for Mid Island are right on and well deserved! I've been fighting a misfire on my '99 high top Explorer van. Well known service centre up Island did some work, but the problem persisted. I called Mid Island on our way south to see if they could fit me in. Long story short, the van is repaired. Ron and his team identified a few items (spark plug wires, coil, distributor cap/rotor, engine sensor) that needed to be replaced. Price was fair and service was fantastic. Ron and his team are top notch. Super customer service!

Alternator died on my truck at the Departure Bay ferry terminal and I had to miss my ferry. I called Mid Island Automotive Repairs to see if they could diagnose the problem and fix any related issues immediately. Susan, at the front desk, was really helpful and friendly and saved me a spot for an appointment within the hour. Ron (the owner) confirmed that the alternator needed replacement and ordered one right away. After replacing the faulty alternator, he also provided a detailed list of items that should be fixed in the next short/mid term. I was on my way in no time and caught the afternoon ferry. Great service all around! Facility is also spotless! Nanaimo is fortunate to have such a great facility.

I have a classic car and asked many other "car guys" where should I take my car now that my mechanic retired, "Ron at Mid Island Auto" name came up repeatedly so I booked my appointment. Not only did he fix problems with my car that previous mechanics had been unable to, but he found others that I didn't know existed, and that they had missed. After 10 years of bouncing between shops, the car now runs better than it ever has. It was "hard to find a good mechanic" but I have found one in Ron and his crew at Mid Island Automotive.

I have been going to this shop for a couple years now. I have always had a positive experience taking my car in. The staff are always friendly, they keep me up to date with any repairs needing to be done, and always give me an accurate time and price estimate. I have an older car so I really appreciate them taking the time to explain which repairs need doing right away and which ones are not as important. I have had my mom and brother go to them as well and they have both had good experiences. They even fixed a problem my mom was having with her van that was not resolved even after she took it to three other shops. I would definitely recommend these guys!

Ron and his techs installed a steering part that came with the kit that we were unable to install at the time, they also did a front end alignment and my Jeep steers probably better than it did before the lift kit! awesome customer service, they check out your vehicle to make sure it's up to their high standards of safety before it leaves the shop and make sure you are happy! they keep in contact with you after the fact to insure you have no issues with the repairs or work done, they have great offers for additional services that don't cost extra, amazing quality of work done. hands down the best automotive shop i have experienced ! keep up the good work guys! sincerely, Julian Cass
