If you find yourself in moose factory with nothing to Do, call these folks they are incredibly accommodating. They were kind enough to take me on a tour of the entire island including the cultural centre. She shared all kinds of personal experiences as a indigenous woman. She shared stories of their culture and what its like to live in Moose Factory. I was very appreciative of the time taken on a day off for a very fair price.

Truly spectacular. Loved the tour and discussion in Cree culture. Very quiet while I was there and very interesting.

I took a group of youth to the Cree Cultural Centre and was so impressed by the program we experienced there, as well as honoured to be able to experience it! It was definitely a highlight of our entire Missinaibi trip. We were cooked an amazing meal of local game (moose and goose!), delicious bread dumplings and bannock. Unlike any meal I've had! We were taught beading and bracelet making from the staff who were so kind and welcoming to us, letting us camp on their property as well. A special shout out to Kim, Anne, Emmet and Michael who made our time there so special. I can't wait to visit again!!

There were three of us (Charles, Imogen & me) and we were welcomed most warmly by Kim and Anne. The centre is very informative and we felt comfortable asking questions about the Cree way of life. The next day Mike took us out on a Kraken boat down river: Canada, snow & blue geese; bald & golden eagles (Wow!). We stopped to gather Sweetgrass which I then braided the following morning in the CCIC, in the company of Kim, Mike & Anne although I’d also met Vince & Emmet earlier. Such friendly hosts! I happened to mention that we’d walked over to the Hudson Bay Company Staff House but had found it closed. In no time, we were taken there, let in and allowed to browse the collection without any rush. What an experience! I cannot recommend the CCIC enough … a must visit. Many many thanks to the staff who provided us with an unforgettable experience,

Kim was very accommodating, we rented a canoe to travel around the moose factory area for a few days and she had great advice. Also the interpretive centre had some interesting things to see and items to purchase

We took our BPSA Scout group here for cultural and nature experiences. We spent three days sleeping in both the teepee and long house. We assisted in the preparations of a roasted wild goose dinner prepared over open fire. We explored the island by foot and visited many of the island stores, landmarks and took a tour up the river to the mouth of the James Bay. If you go visit, be sure to say hello to Kim, Anne and Emmitt. Well worth the experience, don't rush!

I highly recommend the CCIC if you are visiting Moosonee / Moose Factory for a day or two via the Ontario Northland Polar Bear Express train. A taxi from the train station will cost you $15 in the winter when the ice road is open, or $20 for water taxi in summer. Kim and her team are very kind. Great photos about life as it was in these places in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Interpretive displays about Cree living, hunting, language, clothing. Postcards for sale (if available), as well as traditional clothing, moccasins, etc. They also have a team of guides that can arrange to meet you at the river docks when your train comes in and take you by boat to where the Moose River opens up into James Bay/Hudson's Bay. Also offer SkiDoo experiences in winter. Give them a call to arrange beforehand. Note that in spring ice breakup/fall ice freeze, the only way to reach here and Moose Factory in general is a $45 helicopter flight out of the Moosonee Airport.
