I was super stressed out last night coming out of work, my front passenger side tire had a slow leak and I snapped my windshield wiper blade trying to clean snow off under them. I dropped my car off the next day, randomly, without an appointment. Active Green and Ross patched my tire, changed my oil, rotated my tires and changed my wiper blades in under 2 hours for an insanely low cost! These guys are incredible! Super friendly, super fast and efficient, affordable and most importantly, honest! These are all qualities you never experience in today's market, especially during a pandemic! They saved me tons of money and allowed me to get to work without missing any time, as I work an afternoon shift. I've never brought my vehicle to this business before today and I was lucky enough that they accepted my car on such short notice. Incredible service! Great prices! They have my business for life!

Had a good experience here. Wanted a reasonably priced oil change where I didn't get pestered into a dozen upgrades, part swaps, etc... They asked once up front what kind of oil I wanted, charged me for it up front so I knew they wouldn't be whining about my air filters, and did it quickly while I sat in their comfortable waiting room. They moved my vehicle in and out of the garage. Watched another customer recieve some excellent service obtaining and swapping some tires after an accident. They seem like good people. Would definitely return here.

My worst experience was from the head office which bombarded me with emails, including the one that sent me here. It solicited a review. I don't like that. it is rude. They call it "Inviting" People to review. Inviting is another word for soliciting. I usually give this type of review to companies such as those on Amazon that solicit reviews. I don't find customer reviews useful, others can use them at their peril.

Can't say enough about Ross from the Ritson Auto Garage!! Over the weekend my truck was fully serviced, lube and oil change and a standard maintenance check (tires, battery, tire rotation) Once this service was completed, I've noticed the passenger side headlight was out?! Addressed this fact with Ross, who's promptly rescheduled me for a complete bulb replacement at my out of pocket expense (rightly so). However Ross had waived the cost of the installation!! ???????? I got new tires, wheel alignment and oil change at this Green & Ross location, I compared quotes with Canadian tire and they were better to get Michelin tires so I went with them also the fact that this location is very close to my work place. It was convenient process as I just emailed them and got an email reply with quote attached. I was glad they worked with my work schedule on Saturday and dropped off my vehicle at work when it was done . The car was returned to me in the evening after dropping it off at 9:30 am at the shop, however it worked for me as I was at work till 6:30 pm anyways , however if you need your vehicle soon on a busy Saturday you may have to let them know. Staff are courteous and respectful at all times. Overall a pleasant experience . I would recommend this Green and Ross location.

During COVID-19 lockdown, my dealership became unreliable for maintenance due to layoffs. So I had to seek other means for service. Friends highly recommended Active Green+Ross on Ritson Rd. Took my car in for air filters . when I got my car back it didn't run so well. Kept stalling. I called and they charged me 106 dollars for diagnostic and it came back with of codes. It did run a little better. I called Mercedes and told them the codes. They were all connected to the breather improperly installed. I reset my throttle and all is back to normal. I should of got my money back but nope. If the can't properly work on Mercedes they should ent book them. I feel very ripped off

I was there one day, overheard Spencer, the owner, swearing and getting mad at a customer. It was very clear Spencer got mad because he didn't like what this person was saying. Regardless of my opinion on the conversation, you should never get mad at a customer for a minor confrontation. He also made it clear that this customer doesn't spend much money with them and is just a problem to them. This was the worst customer service I have ever seen from an owner. Unfortunately for Spencer, I was a well paying customer. I haven't been there for months now. I highly recommend everyone stays away, regardless of auto service, customer service is always most important.

Excellent Service and Great Value: I purchased a set of winter tires here last November and had an excellent experience. The whole process was very smooth and pain-free. Luc and his staff were extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Before coming to Active Green and Ross, I had researched some tire options online but felt a little overwhelmed by all the choices, and was not sure which tries were best for me. Upon entering the shop, I was greeted promptly and in a friendly manner. Luc took the time to ask me about my unique needs and found the tires that worked best for me. We set up an installation appointment for later that week, which went smoothly and took no time at all. I feel very confident in my purchase, and the tires performed spectacularly this past winter. The whole season I felt in control behind the wheel, even during blizzards coming back from skiing, where other vehicles were in the ditch. Thanks again.

Went in to get a repair quote, was told that it wouldn't be a problem, but to come back in the morning (it was near closing time, so that's fair). Came back in the morning and suddenly it's a $125 fee to do a diagnostic. Worse, since the repair was needed to pass an emissions test, they now want to do the test first, to figure out if there might be other issues, then charge me for the diagnostic, then do the repair, and finally charge me for a second emissions test (only the first one's free, apparently). So if you've followed this far, overnight it went from "Sure we'll take a look at it and give you a quote" to "Pay us to tell you what the problem is...and oh by the way you're going to need two emissions tests, so pay us for one of those too." I hope there was simply a miscommunication, because the alternative is outright dishonesty. Either way, that was a negative experience, and I'm unlikely to ever return.

I just purchased new tires for my 2009 Toyota Rav4. Having no past experience purchasing new tires I did some research and called around for quotes. I asked questions at all places to verify what was to be done and what was the walk out the door final price. Most places were very vague and the prices seemed to change with every question. When I contacted Active Green and Ross I spoke directly with the owner Ross. His customer service skills were second to none. He took the time to answered all my questions and gave a final walk out the door price as well he printed off a quote with my name on it so I was guaranteed the price. Their price was a by far the best by at least $50 - $175. The excellent customer service I experienced through the owner is the same that I received through their staff. I highly recommend Active Green and Ross in Oshawa. I will forever pass on the great customer service experience I received to everyone who mentions a tire from this day forward. Thank You Brian V

I booked an appointment to rotate the tires I purchased there for 4:30. At 5:50 my car was finally taken into the shop. Twenty minutes later I was in my car cleaning off my dirty steering wheel... So nearly two hours to do what was an 18 minute job. At least I was being entertained for a portion of the time as the owner (franchisee) was berating another company for wasting HIS time, the terrible service THEY give him, the time he spends on the phone with them... pot, meet kettle. This is my second bad experience with them - the first time (about 2 years ago) I went in for an oil change. I was the first customer of the day. 1.5 hours later my car was untouched. The key/clipboard simply got buried under other work orders therefore nobody ever got to my car. Walked out with promises of free oil changes etc but who has 2 hours to get their oil changed? Oh and BTW - the 19.95 special for an oil change does not apply to most cars. A lady with a Prius walked out after paying $74.xx. Oh it was "special" oil and a "special" filter, and I'm sure hours of her time. Don't go there and save yourselves some frustration.

Recently got an oil and change and my front brakes done. No problems there as it was all done in an hour and a half. When I came back to get my car though, there was oil on my steering wheel cover, seat cover (now ruined), middle console, inside the door, and on the shift knob. The staff came in and saw me a 25 year old and probably thought they could get away with not using wipes or covers. I won't be doing business here after that experience. When I called to tell them about this, their response was "well there supost to be using covers" and didn't really offer any condolences.

I called to schedule an alignment on May 13, 2020. During the call, I provided my name, phone number, make model and year of the car and accepted an appointment date for May 21, 2020 at 10am. I arrived 15 minutes early. Upon arrival, the desk person greeted me then told me the alignment machine is not in service at this time, something about a stuck car on it needing a part. So I was forced to reschedule for tomorrow. Upon rescheduling, I asked why nobody called me to let me know not to bother coming in. This seems like a reasonable thing to expect if an appointment has been booked a week in advance and the machine is not in service as of the day before. CALL THE CUSTOMER FOR THE NEXT DAY WHO'S EXPECTING SERVICE USING THAT MACHINE. The desk person said they didn't have my number in their system even though I had definitely provided my number to them the week before. Incompetent. I'll take my business elsewhere. Cue the generic copy paste managers response telling me to email or call because they "care".

Stopped in to see if i could get pricing on installing winter tires on a Ford Transit 250 van. The guy at the counter told me they don't do work on these vans because they are to heavy for their equipment. This is a light van that a standard cheap home level floor jack is more than capable of lifting. All I was looking for is to have winter tire installed. You would think a shop that replaces tires would have the basic equipment of a beginner backyard mechanic to get the job done. While still in the parking lot I called up Tire Trackers in Port Colborne and they had the tires ordered and on the way before I even left the parking lot. Rolled in there the next day and they were installed within 45min using guess what....a floor jack. Hopefully they are good at doing what work they decide to take on but sadly I'll never return with any of my vehicles based on this one experience.

I was really impressed with the quality of work done on my vehicle. Not sure if they did extra things to my car but when I left the ride felt noticeably better. Highly recommend this location. Called to book an appointment and they where able to take me in the same day. This place is dog friendly as well! Came to get an oil change here and assumed dogs weren't allowed inside. So I took my pup for a short walk came back and saw he was shivering. Took him inside and they are also dog owners as well, so they let my pup warm up while I was waiting for my vehicle. I've purchased my tires exclusively at Active Green & Ross for over 10 years. I always sign up for the Road Hazard flat tire repair plan when I buy a new set. I just brought my car to your Ontario Street location in St. Catharines to have a flat tire repaired. I was refused service because they wouldn't honour my mask exemption. In addition to not providing a service that I had already paid for, I believe your staff actually contravened Ontario's mask mandate. It explicitly states that exemptions must be honoured. After this incident, I'll be taking my business elsewhere in future. ADDED NOTE: Contrary to the reply below, after I informed the staff of my exemption, they informed me that they needed me to wear a mask as it was up to the discretion of the store. At this point I said "OK guys." and left the premises without further discussion or incident.

Long story short: I made an appointment for my brakes. I wanted them checked, as I drive every day back and forth more than 50kms... so I need to have a reliable transportation and last time I checked my brakes was 6 months ago. They took 3 hours to tell me that my car needed $3000 in BRAKE repairs!!! I obviously told them that I wanted a second opinion and that I would pick up my car the same day. The guy on the phone started telling me that it was necessary to make all the repairs and that it would be unsafe to drive my car in that state. I said no and that I would pick it up ASAP. The guy insisted 2 more times. At the time of arrival not only the guy kept pressuring me to make all the repairs but this time the mechanic approach me and said: " did you just bought this car? Ha, I can't imagine how your car passed the safety ... " At this point I was stressed, scared and anxious because I didn't understand what was so wrong with my car as i drove it that week to work back and forth with no issues... Anyway I paid 70 bucks for a waste of time and as I started my car and made the first stop I realized that my brakes WEREN'T WORKING. Thank God I live very close to the place and was able to park it and call a tow truck to take it to a trusted mechanic (after asking people around I was able to find one). THE TRUSTED MECHANIC CHARGED ME $300 for a broken hose (how did that happen???) and told me that nothing was wrong with my brakes... what a sorprise. Save yourself from a bad experience and go somewhere else

But since their machine for e-testing did not work for a few days, I had to go somewhere else (and pay again) to get e-test approved and therefore be able to renew my license plate sticker. Bummer

Happy that Green and Ross are conveniently located in the neighbourhood, which is the reason I first visited. I come back because I’ve been Impressed by fact that I can always get an appt when I need to and that service is always prompt, professional and reasonably priced. I’m happy with the tires they recommended I buy — a good affordable option — and that purchase includes rotation/inflation for their life. The owner/mechanics take the time to show and explain what repairs need to be made and why. And they never try to “upsell me”. Rather they let me know what might need repair in the future, so there are no surprises.

Great price on tires, but the service is expensive. I will never go back here again. They initially told me $60 to put winter tires if I buy tires from them (tires were 130 a piece for Michelin X-Ice, not too shabby, minus mail in rebate of $70)...when I got the bill, it was $739 (130x4 tires + 117 for install)! They charge me almost 120 to put the tires on my summer rims! Also when I got a full quote over the phone just before I went in, they said it would come to $637 all in...guess they forgot to mention tax on top of that...I will be going elsewhere to get my summers put back on...

I took my car here for an oil change, and everything seemed great. The service was prompt, and they didn't try to up-sell me on anything - then, 2 months later I noticed that a significant amount of oil was dripping from the bottom of my car in my parking garage. I figured since I was about due for a change that I would just take it in. They changed my oil, and informed my wife (who took my car in) that everything was fine and the oil loss wasn't a concern. I wonder to myself, how is oil dripping from my car not a concern...!? Anyway, the oil leak seems to have stopped, I'm assuming it's because they took off the incorrectly installed oil filer, but in doing so left my air filter case wide open, and my battery exposed so anything could fall in or come in contact with it. I also seem to be having some issue with my transmission since taking it in, but not sure it it's related to the oil change. Will not be returning to this place. Starting to run out of places in Toronto that can execute a simple oil change correctly...

I recently went in to AGR for a tire repair on my truck. Jeff advised me that because I had a nail stuck in the tread so close to the side wall that the tire could not be repaired and I would need to replace the tire. However, since I did not purchase my tires from them he also advised that I contact the company I did purchase from and that they may be under warranty. As it turned out they were covered. So I left the car for them to change the tires just to come back and get a bill for 180. Last year with my new car I purchased from the dealer a set of winter tires and included special programmable TPMS sensors. Active Green+Ross are one of the few garages that can program them which was done. Long story short - the car probably had something wrong with the TPMS car module as I did have to get the dealer to sort something out to get the TPMS light to go off - never knew exactly what they fixed. Now to this year - winter tires back on - the TPMS light won't go out! Apart from the frustration of figuring out the problem I went back to Active Green+Ross along with a lot of concern over whether the TPMS sensors were working properly. Thanks Luc for taking the time to check things out and reprogram to be sure and yes, the light is out and still out after a few days. All good. I really appreciate your doing this and standing behind the work you did previously - super.

We arranged to have our tires changed on our 2 vehicles, and then at the last moment had to cancel due to a medical emergency. We ended up being available later in the day and the team at Active Green+Ross accommodated us and got both car in for the end of the day. Turnaround time was about 1 hour for both vehicles. They even reminded me that our Mini needed the brakes looked at as a warranty issue with the manufacturer. They first told me about this last year, but I forgot to book it and we don't drive the vehicle much. Thanks to them reminding me, our Mini is now booked for brake service at the dealer's shop. The Active Green+Ross guys are great to deal with.

Took my car for a big services. Had my ailment down twice. Even though I never needed it. I had my transmission done and went home to wake up next day and it was leaking all over my floor I had been driving with a leak transmission- the company did nothing to help other than fix the leak, my transmission was damage and it caused me more money than I wanted to spend. Be aware of the companies you trust. I reported the matter to head officer to have no one call me back to rectify the issue.

I’m usually very cautious about service locations, but I’ve gotta hand it to the owner here. I needed winter tires on my 2016 civic, and under 40 minutes, I was good and ready to go. Price was $300 cheaper than at my dealership, and I was not upsold on ANYTHING. From my experience, these people are knowledgeable and respectful of customers. He got me the RSSW rims and Continental Viking winter tires that I wanted, even though neither were listed on the website.. It all arrived within a few days, at prices minimally higher than other online-only places (about $25 per wheel, for a rim+tire cost of $500). Having the store here in town made up for the slightly higher price. This way if anything had gone wrong with the order, it could have been dealt with here. To me this was totally worth it. Everything went smoothly. Totally recommend this place!

My rear E-brake was locking up, so I took it in as they had done my last brake change. Diagnosis? First they warrantied my disk brakes and pads and replaced them (much to my surprise as even I could tell that wasn't the issue). Then they replaced my caliper, costing my $300; when that IMMEDIATELY failed to fix the problem, what did they do? Warrantied the part again and replaced it saying the part was faulty (not their diagnosis). No surprise, the problem came right back within minutes, proving once again they were either lying to cover their butts and/or just didn't know what was going on. Finally they came to my original diagnosis; faulty cable and housing. I offered not once, not twice, but FIVE times to pay them to replace the cable and housing, I was happy to pay. At this point I had spent 3 full days waiting in their lounge. Their new solution? No joke: Rather than replace the cable and housing, they disconnected my rear E-brake. And charge me for the caliper I clearly did not need ($300 wasted). I am still riding around without an e-brake thanks to these guys. Worst service I have ever encountered. I can't say whether it was just incompetence or just wanting to save themselves time, but is there really a difference? My car has also probably lost value since it isn't the original parts anymore. Literally left before they could do more damage. My car is now less safe than when I first took it in.

My car has been making a ticking sound at high speeds. The technician, Raj, took it for a test drive on the highway and ascertained that the noise was not from the engine but from the dashboard. The dashboard was removed at the dealership a few years ago for some repair behind it. Maybe this is the cause of the noise. At least it's not the engine acting up. Ryan said to take out the dashboard to try to find the problem could become very expensive. I agreed, so knowing that the engine is okay, I can live with the dashboard noise that only occurs at speeds of 100km/hr or more. They didn't charge me for the test drive, and I'm very appreciative of that. I've had work done on my car here before, and I find them to be honest and efficient with what they've done. I highly recommend them.

We came here to get our winter tires put on. We enjoyed the experience (with the small exception of having to change our appointment date.) The men were all friendly. There was a younger guy up front helping the owner with some language barrier issues and he made sure I was charged & recorded correctly. Everyone seemed to help each other out. The guys who swapped my tires thought they had lost my key somewhere inside the car (I had it) and they were trying hard to find it, which showed their care. The previous week I had purchased 4 new tires for my wife's vehicle from this location. This was my first time ever to a Active Green Ross location. The following week we returned for our follow up visit to make sure everything was fine. I decided at that time to have a full brake inspection done even at the expense of $59.99 + tax. Most other places do free complete brake inspections nowadays no problem. When it was completed I got an estimate work order of almost $1300 total. I didn't know what to think. I was overwhelmed and just wanted to leave. I never ever got that high of an estimate or work done to my breaks. I ended up making two appointments else where for free brake inspections, one the same day and another the next day. One place quoted me for needed brake work at $500 and the other place quoted me $450. I even asked them particular questions in relation to my estimate from Active Green Ross regarding particular parts. Both places told me I needed only new brake pads and rotors. The one place that I completed the work at made new customer in me. Friendly, great service, down to earth facility, honest etc. I felt comfortable there from the time I walked in. It pays sometimes to get a 2nd & third opinion and not get ripped off especially during these difficult times were experiencing. Anytime you need to pay $68 for a brake inspection you should now better. Also when I spent a lot of money the prior week for new tires how did I know I was going to have to spend even more for an alignment!! Safe to say I will not return for services there in the future. Furthermore, no where to wait there. No sitting area/room etc. Not very hospitable at all. Other places I visited had full facilities open for their customers including waiting areas!

Outstanding service! I was just there to see if they have unusable tires that i can take for sledgehammer training. The staff (unfortunately i didn't get his name) was so patient, took his time and helped me get one with no charge. With this kind of service, you can't go wrong with it. I was very impressed with the customer service!!! I know nothing about tires other than they are round and you need them to make the car go. Randy was AMAZING!!! I did not know there was so much to know about tires! (He could write a book on tires if he wanted..) They did not try to sell me anything I did not need and made recommendations based on my needs and the year of my car (My car is old and I don't drive much) He actually suggested less expensive tires rather than trying to sell me something more expensive because I was female and obviously had no idea what I was doing. Randy made sure that I knew I needed to come back in a week to get my tires torqued rather than leaving it up to me to read the fine print .. cause like who actually reads the fine print??? I really like this shop because they are just plain honest and that is sometimes hard to find. I would highly recommend this shop to women, single moms and anyone who knows nothing about tires or cars. They will explain everything in a way that is easy to understand and not try to take advantage of you.

If anyone wants to take their service never buy parts from them. An AC remanufactured compressor for sonata $928 the total was $1310, but i bought compressor online at $300 a good one... Alternator $427 you can get half price outside. The total i payed to replace alternator is $770... All i can say IS that try Not to go at this place... AVOID....

I came in to have my winters put on and i got a report back saying that i had 1mm of brake pad left on all four corners and that my rear suspension was shot. I didn't decide to do it at this shop because i have a mechanic who does my repairs. however when my mechanic did my brakes he came to show me that my brakes had at least a year left ( 6 mm) of use. Also on his further inspection my suspension was completely fine as well. I am not happy with this shop trying to get me to do completely unnecessary repairs with them. i will never go back and i will make sure people know that the service desk blatantly tried to scam me and most likely others.

Took loose tire there to be fixed, took a day for them to look at it and only got back to me after I called the next morning. Told me they looked at it and didn't see anything obvious and would have to reseal it, but couldn't because their machine broke. Lost my valve stem fill cap and didn't say anything. Took it back a week later (now on the vehicle) and decided to wait for them to fix it. 25 minutes later they told me they couldn't do anything because its an obvious patch, only option is 2 new tires at $290+tax. I said no, guy seemed irritated and charged me $30 for literally nothing, something he told me a week before could be fixed. Ross (the owner) is a nice guy but everyone else is very frustrating to deal with. I understand that some things can't be fixed, but having to visit them 3 times and being charged $30 for nothing is excessive.

The service desk manager assumed that I did't know anything about car repair. He was also not honest with me. The mechanic neglected to torque the nuts properly on all four of my wheels. The resulting damage was a broken stud that cost me a couple hundred dollars that another garage had to fix. Don't go here.
