Worst service ever. Driving through town and dealing with a flat tire leaking, they initially said they would take care if it, but later changed their minds and told us they couldn’t do anything and left us with a flat tire on a Friday near closing time. Leaving us in a complete bind trying to find a solution. We even offered to pay more but the receptionist insisted they couldn’t help us. My hunch is she was biased and chose not to help us. Don’t go here if you need help with anything.

My husband and I have been taking our car to Car Medics for a number of years and the service is always exceptional. You can book your appointments online or call and speak to one of the service advisors who are always helpful. They book your appointments according to your schedule. They offer a convenient shuttle service that works with your schedule, not theirs!!!! They are able to fix any problems we have had with our cars and explain what is to be done and are honest and upfront prior to the cars being fixed. The rates are extremely reasonable. I enjoy the bright reception I get from the staff when I arrive and they always remember your name and the reception area is very well laid out and inviting. I always have and will always recommend Phil and his exceptional team to my family, friends and colleagues.

Brought my car in for a safety inspection. They did a quick inspection and told me I needed to replace a transmission cooler pipe. Quoted me $900 bucks, presumably because of my Quebec plates. I ordered my own part for $125 on amazon and Canadian Tire did the swap for $80 (1 hour labor). Absolute overcharge despite being friendly and seeming to know what they were doing. Would NOT recommend their services without getting a second opinion.

Car Medics will rip you off. Will never go back here and would never recommend to anyone. Went in to have brakes looked at, was given an outrageous quote and when I got my car back after refusing their service it was in worse condition than when I got it, almost undriveable. Canadian Tire did the same repair for 30% of the price that Car Medics gave me.

I called because I had a small puncture in my tire. They immediately got me in and helped me out, though they did not have the ability to plug the tire. After going where I bought the tires and having it fixed, I was on my way, but their speed and professionalism was truly unmatched. They were understandably disappointed that they did not have my tires available, but this does not take away from the fact that they tried their best to help. Excellent service.

Gosh, I've been dealing with Car Medics for at least 10 years or more, and I guess that tells the story. Their staff are always knowledgeable, courteous and fun to talk to. I especially appreciate the complete reports (which include photographs of problem areas, tire wear, etc). The reports also track my maintenance needs and remind me when service checks and other maintenance is due.The owner, Phil, is one of the most genuine and honest service people I've encountered. He has helped me locate and buy my last two or three used cars: I tell him what I'm looking for, and he does the searching and comes up with a number of good cars from which to choose. Car Medics is more expensive than many other auto service businesses, but I well remember the days when I was younger and had to try to do my own work or else look for the most inexpensive service I could find. Now that I'm older and not so able any more, I'm willing to pay for quality and for service I can trust, and Car Medics certainly provides me with that!

SCAMERS!!! I went here for a safety inspection. Due to such high rateings i thought they would be a good choice. before even looking at my car they said they'll take pictures of whats wrong.... They failed my inspection. Said i needed to service my front breaks due to rust?? (just replaced breaks all around the car 3 months befor) they also said i needed to replace my seat belts cause they wouldnt retract and took a picture to my understanding was they hauled my seatbelt all the way out and holded it there to take a picture. My seat belt does retract. there is nothing wrong with it. Also wanted to do body work on a minor rust spot by the wheel well. Quoted me $1450. I went to candian tire and cost me $99 for a saftey inspection and passed with flying colors. I recomend everyone to learn from my exsperience and not to go to this place. Im a young gentleman and i think they thought they could take advantage of me.

Don't trust this shop anymore. Bought my first car from a mechanic from here, found out months later, when doing my own work, it had manufactured parts (wiper transmission broke at the plastic, and was bolted back on with a chunk of metal) that were not readily visible when I bought it saftied!

Made an emergency visit to Car Medics who were really receptive and empathetic to my situation. Bonus: They were willing to work with my 3rd party warranty! One used transmission and new clutch later, I was back on the road. Haven't had any issues with the new parts, and the car runs great. I recommend this shop to anyone in the Kingston area looking for general maintenance from friendly, knowledgeable experts.

Came in to get a safety certificate on a 2020 car with 31000 km on it which failed. I was told that I need to get new rotors because of “rust” which would cost $1000 in order to pass. I went to get a second opinion from a different mechanic who said my brakes are totally fine to pass safety.

I love Car Medics! Phil and all his employees are straight up and honest and take good care of their customers - which is the huge bonus to using a locally owned and operated business. They are well organized and efficient; they have a drive service as well as a nice large well-equipped waiting area. They will send you email alerts about your next maintenance appointment if you request it. Car Medics has a great system where they set you up with a maintenance schedule that shows what's coming next and what you're likely to need at each maintenance appointment - for instance they keep track of the wear on your tires so you can estimate when you're likely to need new ones, as well as other systems in your car. They can help you get an extended warranty set up for your vehicle and then do the work to get you the coverage when needed. They have bonuses and coupons for getting a percentage off of your oil changes. They can store your winter tires. Phil sometimes keeps a small number of pre-owned cars and you know what you're getting when you buy from him. Also as I woman I appreciate the straightforward and knowledgeable front-end staff who never talk down to me (ladies you know what I mean right?) and who know their stuff so they are able to explain to you fully what is going on with your car when you need a repair. I can't recommend Car Medics highly enough - if you're tired of places like Canadian Tire you have nothing to lose by giving Car Medics a try - you'll be so glad you did!

I had a bizarre problem Canadian Tire charged me $300 to not fix or identify. The Car Medics team stayed on it until they found the issue which was the last thing anyone would have guessed and fixed it without throwing random parts at it. Conventional wisdom would have had them install new wires, plugs, ignition, ECU, and fuel pump none of which would have fixed my problem. It was a rotted out gas filler neck letting dirt and water into my gas tank. Who looks at the gas filler neck? They did. One reasonable and correct repair and my car is good as new. Professional, thorough, fair.

I've been going to Car Medics for years. The service is great and I really appreciate that they aren't pushy with fixing things that aren't exactly broken. Phil shows me what I have to have fixed and we work out a plan for what can wait. Car Medics has the greatest integrity, something that many auto repair shops lack. I would and do suggest that everyone who has a car take it to Car Medics. You'll get a better, more satisfying experience than what your dealership will offer and at a better price.

I have taken my newly purchased 1998 Toyota 4runner to be inspected at Toyota Kingston. They have quoted me >$3000 to fix everything with ambiguous issues and some downright unnecessary items. So I decided to get a second opinion. I am glad that I took it to Car Medics. From the getgo, they were very professional and if I could use one word to describe the service I received, it’s honesty. They gave me a detailed report of what items need to be addressed (with pictures and detailed explanations). These guys will not suggest unnecessary work and let you know honestly what needs to be done at the moment and what items need to be monitored. Very impressed with Car Medics. Do not hesitate to trust your vehicle with them (seems like many reviewers already do).

Researching the right tires for my Tesla Model 3 was beyond me. Specifc TPMS sensors, wheel clearance around the rear calipers, the right bolt pattern, rubber according to specifications for the car and lastly a wheel kit to make the rims actually fit left me feeling uncertain about actually getting the right set of winter tires. Carol did a whack of research and helped me choose rims I love and tires suitable for the torque my car produces. Car Medics was eager to learn and did a great job!

Feel like all I ever did was pay endless diagnostic fees on multiple visits only to be told to come back with a “better engine light”. I’m sorry a 0P300 code isn’t good enough for you. In that case, does that mean an older non-OBD compliant car be impossible to work on considering there aren’t any helpful codes to tell you exactly which cylinder is misfiring? I would hope not.

They charged $150 to diagnose my wife's Civic's non-working A/C. Calls around put this leak test from $50-90. Then they presented a $975 quote on top of that to fix it. A few simple calls put the repair about $550. There are too many good shops with fair pricing to ever go back to this place. They could have had a customer for life but, possibly because she is a woman, decided to over price the job and hope she was too naive or trusting to shop around. Trust is vital when dealing with service repair shops. I don't trust this one.

I was crying in their parking lot because I am a bee driver and naive about cars and repairs. PETER and CHELSEA welcomed me inside the store and calmed me down(Chelsea offered water and was able to make me stop crying). They did a free inspection of the tire situation while I wait at their store. My tire had a hole in the side wall and I’ll have to deal with the stores that I brought it from(hoping to get some warranty). They let me wait in their store till my towing service arrived. This store is AMAZING for their services and the way they deal with their customers. I’d say l,the name Car Medics suits them as they don’t treat you as clients/customers but as patients(meaning they understand, care,look after and stand by their customers). It was a very good visit and I know where to go when I have car troubles next. :)

I require my car for my job and am always on the go in the community providing a variety of supports to people. These guys were awesome. Our van broke down on the 401 near Cornwall and we had CAA tow us to Kingston to their CAA shop. While being towed we called ahead and described our trouble - Carol had ordered an alternator before we arrived. Although we arrived too late to have the work completed that day, Carol gave us a hotel number and they drove us to the hotel that night and picked us up the next morning when the vehicle was ready. And, oh yes, the technician agreed to show up early to work on our van which was ready right on time as they promised at 11am. Really impressed with their service in an industry that doesn't have a great reputation. Highly recommended.

Came in early Thursday morning (11/07/2019) with what appeared as a major problem with my Honda Odyssey 2012: no power and jerky acceleration, strange noise and smell. I thought it was the catalytic converter. I was visiting with my wife and 2 grand children. I received a very understanding welcome and although they were short of staff because of summer holidays they ensured the car would be looked at that day. I rented another car meanwhile and later Natasha called to say the problem had been diagnosed and they were waiting for the part. She later called to report the part was still on its way and probably better to expect the car the next day. I called Friday morning and was told the car was repaired, had been road tested and was running fine and we came down to retrieve it. And all at a reasonable cost. What I found at Car Medics is a culture of service and customer care tinged with empathy and Natasha and the girls were extremely sympathetic and helpful. Bravo to all of you and I strongly recommend that shop on that basis.
