Awful service today. Can't communicate to their customers clearly. Make you wait 2 hours to find out they can't repair your tire. Where was my phone call to notify me of this, after they said it would be a 20 to 30 minute wait. Sorry it was honestly a waste of my time. My child called me on a Saturday, 15 days before Xmas stranded 50 klm. east of Oshawa with a flat on the side of the 401, with no CAA, no spare tire. It's your kids and you want them to be safe, the lecture was to follow on how stupid that was. In the interim, I raced to TAUNTON TIRE as they've been nothing but spectacular to me in the past. There I was in the waiting room with a mass of people waiting for their snow tires to be put on. I was on the verge of tears the whole time thinking this is crazy. But once I got my turn and I explained my emergency, the lovely staff member felt my emotional pain and panic and immediately rectified the situation by finding the right tire for the vehicle and found some rims as well. They put the tire in my trunk and I was on my way. Finally I found them on the side of the highway and we changed the tire. The kids were fine but above all safe and able to continue with their travels to Ottawa. It took the TAUNTON TIRE staff a great deal of time to find the right rim for the tire. They had a massive amount of customers in line. In the end they could seen this was not worth their time and potentially could have sent me on my way but they didn't. I have nothing but the deepest respect for TAUNTON TIRE. I wish to thank them for all their help. As a consumer you normally have to sacrifice either good service or good deals. At TAUNTON TIRE I have never ever had to sacrifice a thing. I always get service above and beyond and on top of that their prices are hard to beat. i wouldn't go anywhere else for any tire needs. THANK YOU FOR RESCUING MY FAMILY FROM A BAD SITUATION. IF I COULD GIVE YOU A HUNDRED STARS I WOULD.

I purchased a set of new tires for my truck. Amazing service from the front desk to the installers! The only con I had was. I was ask if I want the lettering a on my new tires, I specifically said that I wanted it inside and not visible. But when it was installed the tires white lettering was outside. And was covered with blue grease. Other than that issue I would go back to Taunton tire for my future tire needs

Poor customer service. The lady on the phone is infuriating. Not listening to my concerns and more interested in me being back before they close so she doesn’t have to wait for me. I know what time you close and what would happen if I didn’t make it there. That wasn’t even why I was calling... I know you shouldn’t expect decent customer service at your local tire store but wow... wth I’ve had one positive experience at this place which is why it gets two stars. I wouldn’t have written this if the lady on the phone would’ve just answered my simple question about disposing of my old tires but now that I’m writing a review.. please adjust people’s tire pressures correctly!!!

Wow, i was really stuck as i have a road trip in the morning and i needed 2 tyres mounted. I was 15 mins away when i called them at 5pm(they close at 6pm), the lady on the phone tells me i am out of luck as they won't do it unless i am there at 5:05pm??? I recently ordered two tires from Carly (spelling?) and was amazed they had them in stock and could put them on right away. Her personality over the phone was very helpful, polite and welcoming. I ended up going the next morning for installation and despite how busy they were and in the middle of Covid, the experience was second to none. Cole was very kind and efficient and said it would take about 30 minutes and indeed it did. Even the mechanic (didn't catch his name) was courteous, polite and efficient. I just wanted to say Thanks to Taunton Tire for good service, a good price and most of all a great experience!! We will be sure to come back! Kudos to Carly, Cole, and the gentleman who installed my two tires.

Left my car at 8:30 am to get the rim/tire swapped (I already had tires installed onto the rims placed in my car) and at around 1:30 pm the job still was not complete. They let me know it was gonna be done by E.O.D. I assumed with how easy of a job it was, it wouldn’t take too long and at the latest it would be 2:00 pm even with a bit of rush. What a shame as they don’t even offer an appointment system as I would have taken that over being bound to my phone and wondering when I can pickup my vehicle.

REFUSED TO USE MY RESUABLE ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY MICHELIN TIRE BAGS: I would have rated 5 stars if my reusable environmental friendly tire bags were used to put my winter tires in. Everyone including businesses have an obligation to protect the environment. Everything was absolutely great except disappointed with one part of my experience. I had purchased new Nokian tires and went to have my winter tires removed and the new summer tires installed. To be fair, Taunton Tire gave me a competitive price on my new Nokian tires. The service was amazing. Quick, efficient and the environment was up beat. The employees were pleasant. Great music playing in the background. It was truly a great experience. The only disappointment was when staff refused to use my Michelin tire bags to put my winter tires in. When they brought out the large plastic bags I advised the employee that I had reusable tire bags for my winter tires. The employee told me his employer does not allow employees to use customer tire bags because it takes too long to use them. I laughed and thought the employee was joking...I learned clearly he was not. When I went to pay the invoice, I brought this to the attention of the employee who was processing my invoice. She was kind enough to look into this and another shop employee said the same thing. I was shocked. I told them kindly that I've had these reusable tire bags for over 10 years and I've never had any shop refuse to use them. The Michelin tire bags take no longer to roll the tire into them then it takes to place a tire into a large bag and tie 2 knots. I bought these reusable tire bags to try and reduce the reliance on plastic and do my part on helping the environment. When I returned home, I spent the 15-20 seconds to remove the Taunton Tire plastic bag, put my tires in the reusable Michelin tire bags to store my winter tires. It literally took less than a minute to wrap 4 tires. I wish Taunton Tire would have told this to me when they took the old tires out of the Michelin tire bags. I would have put my winter tires in my Michelin tire bags myself while they installing my new tires. I don't accept what the employee told me. Waiting for an hour outside for my tires to be installed, I watched employees having down time and talking in groups amongst each other between tire installations. There was ample Taunton Tire employees around to wrap my old tires with my environmentally reusable tire bags. I now have 4 large plastic tire bags that will be discarded and will likely end up in a land fill. It's disappointing that this great business that was celebrating a 50 year anniversary wasn't able to be more appreciative to our environment. My daughter was learning in senior kindergarten about how important it is to protect the environment. Reduce, reuse and recycle. Now in Grade 1 is very much aware of the environment. Interesting conversation trying to explain to a 7 year old why the reusable tire bags of the family vehicle were not used and throwing out all this additional plastic. I will return as a customer to Taunton Tire because I do very much enjoyed my experience overall. I will just ensure that I will put my tires into my reusable tire bags myself the next time. I was able to save 2 of the plastic tire bags used by your shop. I don't mind dropping them off to your business if you wish to reuse them for your next customer. I'd rather them be reused then my throwing them out.

I love the service and the people here. It's unfortunate that the management and process especially for swapping tires during the fall and spring time are very poor. Unless you get there at 7 and wait hours, it won't happen that day, since all they have is first come first serve. I have to say this, but I may have to go somewhere I can schedule my servicing where I know what to expect and right how much time I'll be there.

We bought brand new Toyo tires, from Taunton Tire for both of our vehicles. Even though they claim to have a "Hunter Roadforce" Balancing Machine, my Toyota Camry, with these brand new tires, vibrated at highway speeds. Brought it back a second time...some better, but still vibrated. Very frustrating, as you cannot make an appointment like most other places...had to leave car there for hours both times! Went to Attersley Tire service, Oshawa, for a second opinion also with a Hunter Roadforce balancing machine. Unlike Taunton Tire, they gave me a written report showing: "All wheels were out of balance by 1/2 ounce or more! Then, after they corrected the imbalance, I drove the car on the highway, smooth as silk! We gave Taunton Tire a chance to "Make it Right" by asking them to pay the $100 charge to have them balance my tires properly. With a sassy attitude they said, we do not pay other peoples bills! We have 15,000 customers! We said, "if you give service like that, you won't have 15,000 customers...the word will get around!

First time coming here (and last), I walked in looking to get a plug for a punctured tire and was told they were too busy... I completely understand that, it was the fall. I asked if I could leave the tire and come back whenever they have the time to work on it (I wasn't in a rush)... I was told they don't have space to hold one tire. "No" is sometimes an answer but it was the casual, flippant attitude from the sales associate that had me walking out scratching my head. I'm going to guess and say this is a family run business with a lot of family working there. Seemed unprofessional.

Came in for a tire repair for a object stuck in the tire. Employee removed the rim cover instead of fixing the tire. When he put the tire back on I showed him where the damage was. He took the tire back repaired it properly. So then I asked him to remove the other rim guard so that it would match. I was charged for the rim guard removal that I didn't ask for when I got my car back the custom chrome valve caps were removed replaced with cheap plastic

I ordered winter tires from Taunton Tires in Oshawa on October 21, 2016. My budget was $900.00 Tax, install, balance etc. all in. I spoke with Sara who was very helpful and based on the $926.60 quote, I made the decision to order from Taunton Tires after shopping around to at least 5 other Tires Shops in the Durham Area. I had the tires installed on October 31st, a long 1.5 hour wait but not too surprised given the fact that they were so busy. Paid them and off I went. After my drive home I noticed a service light that came on with a tire light. I called Evan (the manager) at Taunton Tires and he explained that the reason for the light being on is as a result of no having sensors on my tires. I am not very savvy in the tire area and did not know what this was. He explained for an additional $300.00 + plus, the light would go off and that after pulling my paperwork he was very sorry that this was not explained at the time of the purchase. I was furious, this information, if had it had been mentioned when I first spoke with Sara would have swayed my decision from ordering from Taunton tires since this would have well exceeded my budget. At this point Evan (manager) was very apologetic and I was irate. I was raising my voice and very angry that now my almost new car would no longer indicate if there was a tire that may be flat due to lack of information that should have been mentioned at the time of the sale. Evan continued to be patient and understanding. He continued to apologize that I was not informed of the cost of the sensors and their purpose. He told me that he would have the owner Frank call me back and we could resolve this. Frank called me back and immediately told me that I had spoken with staff of Taunton Tires on three separate occasions and that they had informed me of this sensor cost. This was TOTALLY untrue! He then said he would not do anything for me. I was shocked that such an arrogant and rude owner of such a reputable tire shop could have such a considerate and caring manager such as Evan who clearly makes customer care a priority. What a shame that the owner could not do the same. I will never return to Taunton Tires and would caution those who do given the attitude of the owner and his dishonest nature! Got tires here for my truck two months ago - fair price, good service. I've been having a slow leak out of one of the tires since I got it so I went back today and they fixed it up. Fast and quick. Then they charged me $20. Perhaps I'm expecting too much, other places I've bought tires from (with similar pricing, such as say, Second Time around) offer tire care for anything they sell. Why doesn't Taunton Tire? I won't be back for service. $20 to fix a leak two months after they put the $1200 tires on? Ouch.

Terrible service; after a huge investment that they messed up they provide zero compensation, and instead want you to pay the full price again. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. EDIT: Since the owner responded, I'll add a few more details. The agent I spoke with recommended I don't install the TPMS as it would be a waste of money, which I of course agreed -- if I can save an extra few bucks why not. What they failed to mention is it would ding every so often (didn't time it, but to my estimate every 5 or so minutes). If you don't understand the reaction a vehicle will have you shouldn't offer advice in this area. A constant ding is far different than a "light on the dash". To the second point: call around, many places will offer this same service for much cheaper, or completely free of charge. When I politely suggested competitors offer such a service, I was hung up on. As a service-based B2C business, they should prioritize customer support more.

Visited them on Monday, they gave me 4 options for my requirement. I selected one. They didn't have it in stock, so placed the order (asked me to pay only after the installation is Done) and asked me to come down on Wednesday for the installation. They called me up on Tuesday evening stating the tires have arrived and I shall come down on Wednesday for the installation. Went on Wednesday noon, had the installation done in an hour fifteen minutes. Made the payment and was done. These guys are thorough professionals at this. I recommend it. Keep up the good work guys. ????

My experience today (in detail) with this company was medicore in terms of customer service. I was referred to this company by a good friend from work who has used them in the past (I have also used them in the past for tire sealing). I needed some all season tires for my fiance's car. When I called them on Oct. 16 to order the tires, I will give them credit that they provided geat over the phone service and recommendations: $675 all in for 4 firestone weathergrips. All that changed after they said that they will call me and let me know when the tires are in (1)They failed to call and notify me the tires were in). So I had to call them myself on Oct. 29th to see if they were in, and they were (perfect). (2) Why is it so hard to notify a paying customer that the product they ordered is in? Thats unprofessional). On that phone call on Oct 29th, I also asked when are they available to install the tires, and they said first come first serve (Which is very disorganized and inconvenient for customers because most people are only available at certain times of the day). I came in to their shop Oct. 30th and they said they are booked up for the day (How can you be booked up on a first come first serve basis with no appointment bookings). So I waited until my day off on Monday Nov. 2nd. I called them early before 10am to ask at what time today would be a good time to come in, and the girl on the phone said around 2pm because they are not that busy at that time. I said OK. I came in to the shop around 2:30pm and one of the girls now told me they are booked up for the entire day (3) Why tell a paying customer to come at 2pm, and then when they get there tell them you are booked up if there is no appointment making?). The customer service from my perspective is mediocre, and with minimal standards of organization. I was very angry at that moment for the fact that they keep misinforming the customer and wasting their time, and I definitely let them know that (Who wouldn't be). Once I received my tire deposit of 100$ back, I suggested to pay for the tires and just have them installed somewhere else. So they mentioned the name of one guy for approval, and then they asked another guy that was already there behind the counter, and he said no (Even though I had my wallet out). Just because you act nice as employees while dealing with angry customers, doesn't mean the customer is in the wrong because you are obviously doing something to make the customer angry (This is a result of very poor customer service and not knowing what to do to solve it). People behind the counter were also not wearing masks. This goes to show that this company is also not obeying proper safety protocol for COVID19. IN CONCLUSION: if you want to waste your time, you can go ahead with choosing this place OR you can just choose a proper company that treats your business with respect and values your time. I won't be recommending this place ever again to anyone, or giving them my business. EASILY found another place that had the same price and had the professional courtesy of not LYING to a customer, AND have appointment bookings. In response to Frank, I was threathened to get "laid flat out" initially by someone else, who also walked into my personal space ignoring social distancing, for voicing my frustration, which was not being handeled by customer service or Frank. Apparently "management" here does not like to take responsibility for the way they conduct business. Can be verified by the camera footage, you probably deleted that. Also I have a very good voicemail service that I use with many other companies, including family businesses. Phone records would prove I asked very nicely about what time is good, with verification on when I will be coming. You probably don't remember that because you run your business so well? If you don't do appointments, and you are booked up, just be straight up with the customer and notify them, don't wait until they drive to you to tell them you are fully booked (have some courtesy).

Honestly, I can't thank these awesome people enough. It was suggested that I go here by a coworker, who was horrified when she heard how much my dealership was charging me for tires. When I came in, the staff was just as surprised, and someone came out with me to look at my tires (since I didn't know exactly what kind/size I had). The price I got quoted was MUCH less than the dealership, and even included balancing which the dealership was going to charge me extra for! I had my new tires on the next day, at a much better price, and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

My wife and I started going there a few years ago after having a hard time with other places with their up-sells and nonsense. We have found Taunton Tire to be straight-shooters who recommend what they think we need instead of what they would rather sell. I got some mid-grade winter tires, rims swapped, balanced and installed for $600 after taxes and my wife recently got her new mid-grade all-seasons for just over $500. We usually call them first and arrange a time to go in and we're done in less than an hour. No nonsense or sketchy sales people at all and we're happy to give them our business.

Just wanted to write this review of taunton tire as I have bought many tires over the years for my personal use and for my company vehicles from this company. what I have noticed the last few years is they are very competitve with pricing and lack customer service skills .they are happy to make the sale but do not back up any warranties do not offer puncture repair even though they say they do (not the same day anyways)they are too busy taking care of new customers and could careless about existing ones every time I have had a tire issue its been a fight to get them to look at it and every time its a different issue or excuse why there's been tire failure. The last time I went in with a flat I asked them to look at it . they said there too busy come back later and I should'nt drive with the tire low it could cause more damage and void warranty so I asked if they could fill it so I could get home they responded no all the guys are busy . So at the end of the day I drove up the road filled the tire went home and made some calls to see if I could get my tire fixed as I need to commute to work. at the end of the day if you want price taunton tire is great just hope you don't have a issue cause your on your own.

Great service and selection. Had all four tires changed in half an hour to 45 minutes. I have never had any problems getting the brand and size of tire I wanted for a price that couldn't be beat by competitors.

What a great small business tire shop!! These guys have excellent prices, fast service, and helped me out when I was the one who accidentally ordered the wrong size of tire. Places like this are why I still always prefer going to individual businesses instead of the bigger chains. They have a wide variaty of tires and a TON of knowledge about all of them, and getting tires in that they have to order is as fast as any of the bigger guys. I decided to use this business rather then a big box store. It was a mistake. After waiting for 1.75hr they informed me they ordered the wrong size tires and the correct size wont be in until later in the day(4hrs later) I again drove the 20 km to there location to have the correct tires installed, 1hr. I mentioned to the office staff that a discount would be appreciated to cover my wasted time and gas. I received none. Next tires I need wont be from this place! Not recommended.

They advertise one price and charge you a higher one. When questioning about it they had a BS answer that the prices went up. When you change your prices you better update your information board or honour the price you have posted. One of the worst shops I've been to. Told me my tires were four years old and needed to be changed when I have only had my car for three years and bought new tires. I came in for a flat tire repair, I knew what to expect as my brother is a mechanic. They only used a plug which is not as safe, and didn't bother balancing the tire, cause me to face tire balance issues. Off to a real mechanic who knows what they're doing. That's the difference between a tire technician and a mechanic.

Purchase wheels, tires and tpms sensors. Sensors not working. Told to come back after the 9am rush. Come back after 9 am rush and told I can't be helped. At this point I'm irritated. Not only because the system I paid for isn't working but the guy at the desk is treating me like an inconvenience and Ive arranged my day around what they told me. I ask the guy if this how how they stand behind all their work. Now, I'm told I have an attitude. Not once in this scenario is anyone apologetic or serious about fixing something that isn't working. I have to come back when it's convenient for them, not me. But, I'm apparently the one with the attitude.

Beware of old tire stock. Came in for a replacement tire in an unusual size. While they had a new tire in stock, the tire was over 3 years old. Although I was given a small discount after complaining about the age of the tire the front counter staff was quite ignorant. They did however complete the job in the promised time during a busy period. Update: installation also poor. Leaked air from valve stem.

When Bob was running the show Taunton tire couldn’t be beat. What happened?!?! I went there to get a quote today. Firestone winterforce 2 tires with 4 steel rims quote was $100-$200 more then 2ndtimearound, Canadian Tire, and discount tire. Get real. On top of this you will not get an appt. First come first serve. If you come after work expect to waste your entire night waiting. Or you take a day off to sit there because scheduling appointments are to much of an inconvenience for them. Customer service is awful here. Honestly don’t support this.

Ordered winter tire and rim package for my 18 TLX. Good bunch of people, Would have rated 5 stars if it weren't for three things. 1.) Misinformation about price of TMPS sensors and programming during original quote. 2.) Little over three weeks for rims to come in (original time frame 1-2 weeks) 3.) Left My car dirty. (Understand that they are very very busy, but my car only has 3.5K on it and I am very particular with the cleanliness of my car. I wish they would just wipe the old wheels and tires and then place them in the car to avoid dirt getting all over my seats and especially on the kickplates area of the driver side.(mind you it did rain that day.. never the less if that wasnt an issue I wouldve rated 5 stars for great service and cleanliness) Other than that pricing was great, straightforward for the most part and no surprises (minus the tpms which i didnt end up getting) . Would recommend to family and friends 100%! ( already got 2 sets of tires for two different cars from them) Cheers

I find this place to be very poor in customer service. I call to order a tire that matches what is on my SUV witch was purchased there before. It was Sat around 3.45 pm. I needed to have the change before Monday as I could not drive on the 401 with the spare. I managed to get a my tire replacement at another place same day . I called to cancel the order with a 100 deposit same day they were closed at 4 pm. Closed Sunday called Monday morning to cancel the guy said he would take care of it and to come in for my deposit. Monday evening I got a call from them that my tire was in surprised l said it was cancelled in the am. Taunton Tire is horrible! I suggest going somewhere else. I’ve had a bad experience every time I went there. The last time was this morning and I will not be returning. Every time I talk to someone I get different information, whether it’s price or availability. And they don’t honor the prices they quote over the phone. They tried to charge me $30 more per tire this morning. I’ve also had problems with tires that weren’t balanced properly and a set of steel rims where one of the four was for the wrong vehicle.

Cheapest tires and service I could find but you get what you pay for. They put new rubber on existing aluminum wheels for me. They obviously rushed and stripped one lug and stud, tried to cover it up by installing another lug on the already damaged stud and sheared it off. I'll now have to take it to a shop to have that repaired and it will cost more than it would have to have a proper shop do it in the first place. I have a couple friends that have had issues here also. When they were walking me through the damage they tried to blame it on cheap import parts. That annoyed me even more but I could see they weren't going to make things right so I paid and took my car. They also scuffed up a perfectly mint condition rim while installing the tires on the rim.

Had a flat tire compliments of the City of Oshawa and one of their many potholes.I didn't really care for the customer service they tried to sell me 2 tires well over$400.I said that was too much so I bought 2 tires @ $220 Although only 1 tire was affected they told me I needed 2 due to treads.Whether this is true or not I don't know.I felt I had no choice but to go there as this place was the closest.Would I return?Probably not.

1st come 1st served doesn't mean anything apparently here. They hand out numbers, I was #20. After waiting over 3 hours for a routine tire changeover, I can see that my vehicle hasn't been moved, yet they're working on #21 already. No apology, no explanation given. Ridiculous.

We had our vehicle changed to summer tires and the tire pressure signal on dashboard lite up right after. We brought the vehicle back to Taunton Tires and they said they didn't know what the problem was. So my husband went and took the car back to the dealership and apparently they said someone had stolen the sensor and replaced it with an aftermarket one and the other sensor got broken while they were changing the tires!! This is absolutely ridiculous! Will never go back there again and will definitely tell EVERYONE that I know of not to go there!!!!

First rate rubber and rim store. They had to order my rubber and were honest that they may or may not be in that day. Took less then an hour to change the rubber and fill with nitrogen. Customer care and service is totally horrible I do not recommend bringing your car here for tire changes. They have no appointment basis. Said I could come in whenever and get them done then tell me they can’t do it? Get some organization into your business. Will not be buying tyres from here in the foreseeable future. Horrible If you paid me 5000$ to get tires on from these people I wouldn’t do it just because of how much inconsideration they have in their minds for what’s going on. Probably some of the worst functionality from what I’ve seen in 15 years of business. Went there on a Saturday to get my unmounted tires rubber changed out. After waiting in the line for 20 minutes, I explain what I would like done and ask if I can pick them up at the end of the day to which their response was they would be ready later the following week when they are done. I ask why and they told me they only work on vehicles where people need the rubber changed out on the rims from the car, not unmounted, on weekends. I ask what is the difference as I need my tires that day and they tell me it is not the same thing. How is it different other than the fact that I didn't drive in on those rims. I suggested that if this is policy for weekend work then it should be on their website so that people wouldn't waste their time. No response other than "is that it?" and then they took on the next person in line completely discarding me. On the way out I was cursing under my breath, but obviously loud enough for an employee who was walking towards me to hear. He stops and asks me if I have a problem. I explained the situation and what they should do so they don't misinform the public which was followed up with a "go F@#K yourself". What a pleasant response. Excellent customer service!! I've been going to Taunton Tire for over 30 years when the father was running the business. This is not the first unpleasant interaction with the current owners. Needless to say, I'm never going back. By the way, I went to Canadian Tire that day and had my tires changed out in less than 30 minutes for a cheaper price. So all of those wasting hours waiting for a perceived good price, take the time to drive 5 minutes down the road and save yourself money and time. In response to your response, I'm not the one who is confused. I understand the first come first serve basis. I was there early. If the tires were on my car, it would have been done that day. But your unwritten policy is that "loose" tires do not fall under the first come first serve rules. That was my point - if that is your policy, make it known. Not sure what is confusing about that. Simple business practice.

I came to get my tires swapped to my new wheels. Called them in advance to book an appointment but was told it was first come first served. So I came in around 9am but it was booked till 1pm. I made sure to be there by 12:40. Dropped off my wheels and waited patiently. However, there was confusion so i ended up waiting till 4. Taunton tire went above and beyond for me the last two days. I walked in yesterday looking for a new tire and rim set up for my truck. Gave them a budget ($1500) and said, this is the look I'm going for, what can we do with it? Ty came back right away with a set up that matched the style I was hoping for and within the budget I gave. I was pleasantly surprised, as I wasn't expecting to get so lucky. The tires were in the next day and I had them installed the same night. My truck caused them a few hiccups and they stayed well after hours to finish it for me. Excellent customer service, would highly recommend.

Long time customers no more! Great prices but over the last while service has deteriorated! Have purchased tires & had seasonal changes on 3 vehicles for 15+ YEARS! Have referred relatives, nephew & sister in law with very embarrassing outcomes. Both occurring when problems have arisen. My nephew was accused of overfilling a tire when it was flat in less than 24hrs of having purchased a full set and had them installed AND filled THERE...no resolution...he never returned. The latest, with my sister in law not receiving the nuts back with her winter tires. After two visits there was no genuine attempt at resolution. Yes, the key was on the seat but NO nuts!! Despite insistence that if the key was there so would have been the nuts! And no Frank she was not seeking a brand new set of nuts just those that were not returned! My husband said it best "Taunton Tire is great as long as nothing goes amiss" What has happened to customer service? Maybe it's just a sign of the times...l guess we'll see as we still need our tires changed and will be going else where :(

The front desk staff have always been very helpful. No issues there. However, I went in to have aftermarket wheels and tires mounted and balanced. After my stock wheels were taken off the truck, I was told by one of the shop employees that my “poorly designed” aftermarket wheels would be an issue with their tire changing machine because they had raised simulated beadlocks. After going back and forth about what to do I told him, “If your machine is going to cause damage to my wheels or tires then I don’t want them put on.” That was met by him giving me an attitude and storming out of the lobby. I then called Method Race Wheels (manufacturer) and 4 Wheel Parts (retailer) and both said they’ve never experienced any issues with the raised beadlocks and it shouldn’t be a problem mounting them. I relayed that message to him and was told “well of course they’ll say that, you just don’t understand the business,” and more about my “poorly designed wheels.” He then came back and said he couldn’t put my stock lug nuts back on because they were swollen and it would take too long. I insisted that they be put back on and was given more attitude and told to “google it” multiple times and “you seem smart” in a sarcastic tone. After arguing to the point where I had to tell him to stop talking, my stock lug nuts were miraculously put back on. I understand lug nuts swell, especially the 2-piece OEM ones that are on my truck. However, when your reason for not putting them back on is “it will take too long,” that’s just poor customer service. I’m fine with my wheels and tires not being able to be mounted and I appreciate the shop employee being upfront about possibly causing damage to the wheel or tire. However, I’m not okay with being disrespected and talked to in a condescending tone. I’m not expecting anything to come from this and I’m sure Taunton Tire will respond with either “you were rude first” or some kind of explanation about how their machine works or how lug nuts swell. Just wanted to share my experience.

What a terrible experience. These guys don't make appointments and they inexplicably are so busy that you literally have to show up an hour before they open if you plan on getting your tires changed that day. On top of that, I had called two days before I planned on bringing in my SUV to get new winter tires to ensure they had them in stock. I gave the lady my make, model and actual number on the existing tire and she said they had lots in stock. In fact there were multiple of several different names/qualities. Well I go in to pay for my tires and wait 5 hours for them to do it and they say they are out of stock for the tires. You just told me you had plenty. So my wife takes the SUV in a couple of days later and asks to buy the tires and have them put it on. Well they say they are at capacity for the day (even though this is at 9am). Then when she goes to leave the man behind her asks to have his tires put on and they say the only way they can is if he leaves the car with them and picks it up later. Why didn't they offer my wife that??? The place is just chaos and there is absolutely no customer service. We called our mechanic and he was able to order the tires in and he would have them changed for us by the end of that day. See appointments work. Don't go here.

One snow day and everyone in the Durham area getting snow tires. I arrived at 7:30am to find i was #30 on the list....was out of there by 8am..... impressed as they were very organized. Tires were on by the 2:30 requested time. Great price and great service...will take my other vehicle there.

My experience with Taunton Tire. I am writing this review with the idea that Management can use it to improve their customer service. As such I will try to be as factual as possible. I was new to the Oshawa/Clarington area and needed winter tires and wheels. I thought, I will give my business to a local shop rather than to a big franchise. My thinking was to contribute with local small/medium size businesses expecting personalized good quality service. 1. I spent a significant amount on 4 new wheels and winter tires. The end result was that a wheel cup cover flew away on the road. They are rare and difficult to find. Due to a series of circumstances I didn’t have the time to go back to let them know. When I did, a few months later, Management basically call me liar. It was until I told how much money I spent giving them my business that they offered me to find me one wheel cup cover. I am still waiting for that call. 2. When I bought the wheels and tires, I requested to accommodate my all season tires in bags on the bed of the truck. When I came back to pick up the truck, I found the tires thrown in the bed with no bags. I thought that they forgot about my request but I found the bags inside the cabin. 3. I drive the truck very little and decided to keep the winter tires installed. Recently, I was servicing the brakes and had terrible difficulty removing the wheels. Using a small torch and a metal bar I was able to break free 3 out the 4 wheels. The section of the rotors where the wheels set were fused to the wheel. I thought that maybe the shop did not use anti-seize in that section, but I find it hard to believe. Just recently, I visited them asking for their services to take the wheel off. I explained what I needed and told them how bad my experience with them has been so far. I was told that they were too busy and if I wanted service, I should be back Monday at 5am and do the lineup outside in the cold until they open their doors, so I would get a ticket for early service. I told them that given all the trouble I am going through, they should give me a better option. I was told that they are sorry but they cannot accommodate me despite my bad experience with them. It was also mentioned that they do not use anti-seize because my tire could fly off. I couldn’t believe it, maybe this person was misinformed. The anti-seize, if applied to the bolts, may cause the tire to get loose but if applied to the after mentioned rotor and wheels sections, it should not. I could have been offer something as simple as to suggest to leave the truck Sunday night, so they can work on it the next morning which in my view it does not carry any special treatment under the circumstances. I told them that given my frustration I will use my right of free speech and voice my experience providing a review; the respond I got was to go ahead.
