I am definitely very pleased with the services I got from Speedy today. I have a very beautiful BMW 3 series and since I bought the car i have had an annoying rattling noise in my exhaust on idle, it's was so embarrassing that anytime am parked on the side road and anyone walking by will notice the noise. A few places I took my baby to couldn't pin point exactly what was rattling in there so I had to deal with that silly noise for 2 months until I called Speedy and I spoke to this guy Mark. I asked if I had to book an appointment before i bring the car and he said not necessarily, but I could come in for 2pm. Got there and it didn't take 10mins and all was done. He drove the car out of the shop and left it on idle and when I came out I didn't hear a single sound. Then I asked what he thought it was and he said it was just a piece of metal that was causing the rattle. He said am good to go. He didn't charge me a dime. I was silent for a few seconds and I couldn't be more thankful. You guys made my day, am glad I came to you guys. Again, thanks to Mark especially and the rest of the team. I will do business with you guys again and again and also refer people to your shop.

Had excellent service as a first time customer. Filled out the online request for service and received an email the same evening and was told to come in the morning. Came in first thing and my car was fixed up in less time than expected. I asked that they confirm my brake pads were worn like the dealer said and the mechanic came and showed me the brake pads and how worn they were compared to new ones. This review is only based on a quote request for a specific job on my car. I called a few shops in the area to get a quote. This gentleman at speedy gave me a price which was better than the rest. I go back there a few days later to set up an appointment. When I ask for the quote on paper, the price went up over $100 from the original quote. If I keep going back to him I was afraid he would keep raising the price. So I decided to go to another garage with better customer service. I will never recommend speedy to anyone!

I had a very bad experience with these guys. I took my car to them and told them exactly what was wrong with it and what they should do based on my experience with my car and a similar car that my friend own as this was a common malfunction for this brand and model. Speedy insisted that my diagnosis was wrong and that I should change the battery and an expensive sensor. After they changed these components they called me and told me that the car was ready. I paid 700 dollars and went to my car just to discover that it is still not working. I left the car with them and this time they listened to me and did exactly what I recommended in the first place. They didn't charge me for the second service but I already paid 700 dollars for changing some components that were perfectly fine and needed no change and they could have fixed my car by changing a relay that usually cost less than 50 dollars.

Went to speedy today to change to my winter tires. They do live up to thier name "Speedy". They brought my vehicle in right away and had it done in no time, for a very reasonable price. I noticed they also did a visual inspection. Lights, underneath etc.

Recently I was fortunate enough to purchase a new car and gave my old Elantra to my son and his wife. My son thought it best to bring it to Speedy to get the safety done, as I had been dealing with them for several years. In fact, I had just been there to have my winter tires installed. When my son brought the car in, he was told it needed $1500 worth of work, including all new brakes and fuel lines. None of this had been mentioned to me when I had been in a few weeks earlier!! When my son asked if his Mom had been driving an unsafe car, he was told "Not really." I can't believe that Speedy on Fennell would take advantage of a situation like this and tell my son that the car needed work that wasn't necessary. I will certainly NOT recommend this shop to friends and colleagues.

If you're concerned about being taken advantage of, for lack of knowledge or gender; this is the place you SHOULD go. My two daughters use this establishment and as I (former mechanic) can confirm that they were not 'taking advantage of' or 'Up sold' unnecessarily. They may replace a drain plug gasket or wheel nut etc. without telling you beforehand; however, if it is worn, it is needed. The incidental cost will save greater cost and that's not taking advantage of you, it is ensuring the job is done correctly while protecting your financial and safety interests. 15 + years, 3 families, 5 vehicles, thank you for making the extra effort to accommodate some short notice requests and completing the repairs properly.

Had a Safety done in another province just recently then moved to Ontario. I passed the test back home but when I went here they said I needed $1,600 worth of work to pass... tried to force me to buy all new tires when mine still had lots of life in them. Had to wait 2 hours past my appointment time. Will not go back.

This review pertains to the Speedy Auto Service located at the corner of Fennel Ave E and Upper Sherman Ave in Hamilton, Ontario. I have visited this Speedy location several times....like the time my muffler rusted and fell off to the time my front breaks died....this time I needed my rim replaced after having hit a large pot hole on a public street in Hamilton, which deflated my tire and rendered it partially unusable. As always, the staff were quick to accommodate me and they did an excellent job. I'm quite impressed with how quickly they get parts in, especially when the parts are specific. The staff are always friendly there and they make an effort to get to know your name. Great service - thank you!

I was looking for a new mechanic and my father suggested I go see Jamie and Andy at Speedy on Fennel and Upper Sherman. I was sure glad I took his suggestion .This crew at Speedy are fantastic. The work is great and the prices are fair. Our car broke down and the engine had seized .we assumed that the warranty was up but with a little investigating, Andy found out that the warranty had been extended by Hyundai by order of Transport Canada. He did not tamper with the engine and we were able to get a brand new engine through Hyundai. I am not sure other mechanics or shops would have been this honest. We had no idea the warranty had been extended, but Andy did. That is what makes this Speedy great . The technicians are knowledgeable and do great work. My only regret is I didn't find them sooner.

This was my first time at this Speedy auto service. I called Friday and booked an appointment for Monday. They were able to get me in no problem. I needed brakes and shocks. The gentleman at the counter showed me some options of shocks that works best for my jeep. I was able to leave it with them. They had it fixed up in a reasonable time. Very friendly staff. I spent $1,000. here for a fair amount of work, and 1 block away after picking it up I put my heated seat on and both of them no longer worked! Then the car would not start the next day, so I had another shop change the battery and do more work. All seems fixed now except the heated seats. The seats were used daily and also the morning I took the car into SPEEDY. Since they worked that morning, Is this coincidence or bad timing? Issue still not resolved unfortunately.

Out of the handful of times I’ve been here for purely diagnostics for my current and previous vehicles — I came in today to simply ask if they had a press machine — and whether they could simply press a Wheelbearing into a hub assembly (So I can simply install it myself) Was rudely denied and wasn’t even considered whatsoever. “We’re closed today buddy,” While he services two other vehicles and has a worker painting the front door on a Saturday Morning — which Google Maps states they’re open (And no, “Holidays may affect hours” mention/notice) One bad experience ruins it — Never coming back to this location again. Had a misfire causing stalling. Took my car to Speedy after it ran itself out of oil quickly and the engine took damage from that. They rebuilt the engine for 5 grand.… the car was running now, which was great, but still misfiring/stalling even after rebuild. So I went back 8 more times. They could not figure out the misfire on any visit, and eventually, they gave up (literally).. so did I. Took the car to another shop. Found the problem in cylinder one. Lots of oil in cylinder. Engine has to be replaced/rebuilt for another few grand. I give up. I bought a new car rather than keep dealing with it. What a loss.

I had peviously gotten my brakes done just over a year ago. Yesterday, I started hearing an awful grinding when braking or backing up. I then made the decision to call Speedy, as they are my go to, this morning. I then asked if I could bring my car in for 4:30 for a check, knowing they closed at 5:30. I then arrived at 4:15, my car was then checked and test driven. There ended up being a problem with the caliber therefore affecting my brakes, the problem you see was that we didn’t know if we could get the part in before they closed. The crew, Andy, Ryan and Jamie, got the part and fixed my car without a problem. They even took the time to do an oil change on my car, despite the time crunch of them closing soon. Excellent service, excellent staff and most importantly, supreme client care, they held my needs in the most upheld regards. I’m very grateful to them for staying longer after theirs shifts to finish working on my car. This location will be well recommended to all my family and friends. Thank you very much.

Well my car was in and out of the shop in 48 minutes and the work was up to their usual high standards. I can't even get an oil change that quick any where else. Go in to get an oil change just before they close and all of the employees are willing to help. The manger goes and grabs my daughter a shirt right away and the employee's are all super friendly. Take my keys and start my oil change they also look to make sure everything else is running alright. Well waiting they have cartoons for kids to watch and they are fun to talk to and they usually have candy for the little kids. Great experience! Thanks guys

Called to have exhaust work done. Talked to them told them I had a stainless aftermarket exhaust. After arriving and waiting for almost 20 mins the guy at the counter comes out looms and says I can't weld stainless. So after telling him it was stainless he wasted my time to go there and had me standing an extra 20 mins just to tell me he can't weld stainless

I brought in my car to check my battery. A man (short, blonde hair) did a test and told me the battery was fine. I asked how much it would cost and he said $20 but then directed me to back of the room (away from front office) and took my $20. I didn't question him at the time because I had to rush back to work. The shady mechanic totally took advantage of a female with no knowledge of cars and pocketed $20 - this place is a joke.

This shop takes advantage of the clueless. Took my mom's 07 Elantra in for a safety, that had been there a month ago (and serviced there for years before that) with no issues, and all of a sudden it needs all new brake lines, fuel lines and all four brakes serviced, as well as a few other issues (1500 ballpark I was told). Asked the guy at the counter how they missed all these issues a month ago and he said "no idea bud". So I asked him if that meant they let my mom drive around in an unsafe car and he said "not really". So either they're scamming me or they're completely clueless, I wonder which. Will never go back and would never recommend them to anyone. Edit: had the car safety done by a friend's mechanic, it passed after fixing a couple minor issues. Spent less than Speedy charged for their "safety". Avoid this shop like the plague. Edit 2: I have emailed customer service as the owner suggested, asking for a refund for this obvious attempted scam, and have received no reply in a week, not even a refusal. Seems the owner just wants to make it look like he's dealing with the situation, when he really could care less, he already has my money. Terrible, dishonest shop with a dishonest owner it seems.

These guys got it right! Customer Service like it should be. They were not only friendly and courteous, but the entire experience left me feeling like I spent my money wisely. I was educated on the what repairs were need and why. The quote was easy to understand...how much for what and why this was needed, etc. I was shown the broken/used parts (this took the guess work out of "what the heck are they doing back there?" DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE HAND, I was searching in my area for car alignments and speedy auto service came up, I figured I would give it a try and it was in my area the guy on phone told me it would be "$100 + tax" and I said great, I noticed there was a coupon on line for "any services $100 or more" you save $20 , which seems like a fair price for an alignment, well when I arrived I handed my keys over and tried showing the guy at the front desk my coupon in which he told me that it does not apply to this service because the service actually costs "$99.99" plus tax , I asked if he could round it up so that the coupon does apply and I received a "NOPE" and him walking outside to deal with another customer, after they finished their conversation I asked for my keys back told him I would go some where else , funny thing is that I paid the same price it would have been had they accepted the coupon somewhere else, OVERALL if they are not willing to work with you why work with them? this is why I left a 1 star review for their poor judgement and professionalism

I took my "new to me" used truck here for a check up fully expecting there to be multiple issues. They did a thorough check and found only a few minor issues which they were able to repair quickly and at a reasonable price. I've been going to Speedy Auto on Fennell for many years. At first, it was because it was walking distance from my workplace and very convenient for me. However I kept going to them even after my office moved downtown as they are always upfront with me about my repairs and will let you know if you really need to replace something or not. Their prices are very competitive and quite often they won't charge me for small things such as running a diagnostic or patching a tire. I would recommend them as a friendly, reliable and honest auto repair shop.

VERY fast and efficient. Went to get oil changed and brakes checked as they were squeeking. They were honest and only charged for the oil change as the brakes were fine . We are new to the city and went there based on their reviews. We were not disappointed . Will be returning again when needed.

Ripped off! I was charged 2hr of labour on a job that actually took less than 1hr. (30 min for part to be delivered, 30 min for the guy to have lunch and 30 min to replace part). Later, when I called around to other Speedy Auto locations they all quoted 1hr labour! When I went back to discuss being over charged the guys said I remember you brought your car here before for another problem and you ended up taking it somewhere else. So who was gonna pay me for the 10 minutes I took to put it on the hoist and show you what was wrong with it. So basically I was overcharged because I ended up taking my car to a specialized garage for a previous issue!

I called Speedy Auto Service to look at fixing a noisy exhaust on my Jeep Grand Cherokee before heading up north to open the cottage for the season. I spoke with Terry, who invited me to come in so that the issue could be diagnosed. Thirty minutes later I was at the shop, an hour after that I was on my way home in a much quieter Jeep! It's clear that Terry and his staff equally prioritize professionalism and customer service, a combination of attributes that is increasingly rare in today's marketplace. Speedy Auto, has to be hands down one of the BEST Auto places around. The staff are very friendly & they treat there customers with great respect. They talk to you as an equal, & understand that the average people doesn't know a lot about they own vehicles. I personal feel that an auto shop that has the customer best interest in mind is one you can TRUST. Speedy Auto is that one auto shop that I feel I can trust with my personal vehicle & my families vehicles, to do an excellent job. They will tell you what needs to be fixed right away or if its something that isn't a concern at the moment.

Wouldn't go here. Quoted me $840 for a cracked catalytic converter then I had another mechanic find an easily repaired hole in exhaust system and no issues with converter. Hate shops that purposely attempt to take advantage of people they assume won't take time for a second opinion. Avoid this shop!!!

Great service and friendly staff. I called in ahead for an appointment hoping at least for the same day and got one an hour later. I had went in for a quick oil change. They knew the correct type of oil and they even gave everything a look over to make sure everything was smooth. Thanks guys! Bonus points: The waiting room had a working A/C :D

Called to see if they were able to replace my exhaust system. They said that they going to close in 45 minutes but if I could get there asap they would do their best. Took me as soon as I arrived. I was out within 25 minutes. The price was very good compared to other quotes. Very professional and curious. I would recommend them whole heartedly.

I'll start off with the positive and say they had friendly staff. However, I have never had oil light go off 2 weeks after supposed change. Double checked that this was not a leak. Have to travel long distances to get to work so had to buy and end up filling oil myself. Will never go back.

In town for a business meeting and accidentally backed into a curb, bending the exhaust pipe at the rear of my vehicle. After a quick Google search, took a chance and called the shop at 7:30 a.m. - was told to bring it by for a look. Back on my way by 8:30 a.m. with a straightened/repaired exhaust pipe - no charge.
