Never again. Had my driver side wheel fall off within a week. Tow truck driver that put the wheel back on had to tighten all the other wheels ad the lug nuts were loose. Cost me $500 in repairs and $69 for the tow truck to put the wheel back on and tighten the nuts. Also, the promised $70 manufacturer rebate? yeah, that never showed up. Lots of promises, no rebates and great service...but reliable? Not so much. Just my experience.

I've been going here for years. Good service, good prices. They use state-of-the-art tire machines and balancers. Just recently one of the installers pointed out a safety issue that I didn't realize I had using the wrong type lug nuts only meant for aftermarket rims. A++

These guys are unethical HACKS. I took some tires in to be to be put onto my very nice rims. they put major scratches on the rims and took no accountability for doing it. if you take your vehicle here take a picture on site with a witness as to what your rims look like before they start and what they look like after they are finished otherwise they'll deny any scratching or denting or destruction of the rims. If you have very good rims take them elsewhere.

Carisma buys a lot of tires in the run of a year....what we appreciate about Star Tires is their Quality of Service. Star's Installation and Balancing equipment is top of the line...if you've ever had to take a car back to a tire shop because your tires were lumpy above 80km/hr, you'll appreciate the Star difference. TPMS sensors....most shops can't replace and program a faulty tire pressure monitor sensor...Star has the most common ones in stock and they don't charge an arm and a leg for the service. Wide Variety of Tires & Prices...you can buy budget tires right up through high performance tires at Star...if your car uses 15 or 16" tires, make sure you ask if they have any Clearance Priced Yokohama Avids in your size...great Value!

I have bought many sets of tires here over the years. Prices were just ok but not spectacular for the average quality tires that they sell. Just dropped in today to have a tire repaired (ran over a screw) I had already removed the tire so we just had to roll it in the shop. A large crowd of workers was standing around and one of them took my tire immediately to fix it. The fellow who took my tire returned in less than 2 minutes with a plug in the tire. When I went in to pay the dude at the desk said that the charge was $25. I noted that the tire was already removed and was literally a 2 minute job. Also this was not a proper patch, but an old school plug. They told me that their labor is very expensive, but their tires are cheap. At my figuring their labor is $750.00 and hour. I told them that the most I ever paid for this service was $16.00. They said it takes a lot to get a business off the ground. I was not impressed and will NEVER go there or recommend these jokers again. I am more than willing to pay a fair price but these guys will obviously take advantage wherever they can

So, let's start off on a positive note. My wife had winter tires mounted on steel rims, installed and balanced. Great prices! Decent workmanship also. Where they need to improve is customer service. When a customer says thank you, the expected reply is you're welcome and thank you for the business. Do not ask your customers if they purchased tires and rims there. Why should that matter?? I have money as a customer (which you want/need) and you are a business providing a service. And above all else, even if you think it, DO NOT say to your customers after you ask if they purchased items there...."we usually don't install tires for people during the busy season who haven't purchased them here.". WHAT?? Apparently they forgot the $1200 I spent there a few winters back for my car!! And you state it's first come first served, you don't make appointments, you don't call to say the job is completed. We dropped the car off at 7:30 and didn't get it back until after 12. Needless to say they won't get to ask us again if we purchased tires there or anything else.

Another great experience at Lower Sackville's Star Tire ( @HalifaxTires ) This was my third visit in just a few months, and I am impressed with their speed, price & care. My regular garage is too busy for tires, Big Box stores are pricey and a longer wait. I might have just been lucky at the time of day that I drop by, but I can't finish the complimentary coffee in the waiting area, they were that quick. I've probably saved over $20 each visit by choosing them. I recommend you try them and see.

My most recent experience with Star Tire wasn't as good as my first, which is why my review is a two star. I walked in with intentions to purchase 4 new tires on my car (didnt want them installed) and waited 15-20 minutes to get help, as the other staff was on his computer. Watched 3 other people walk in, and they were served within 5 minutes while they continued to ignore me so I decided to walk out and spend my money else where. Not too impressed, wont be going back and also will be telling people to not buy from them unless they want to be ignored.

They over charge ppl on the type of car , if you own a nice car don't go, they will overcharge you, $30 CAD on my family car, and asked $45 CAD for my sport car, other ppl pay $25 CAD And if you going to bring your own brand new Tyre they going to charge a profit over that, and the reason I have been told, because you didn't buy it from us, this is the business logic they have, a fifth grade mentality.

Be very careful with this dealership they are not trustworthy at all. I was told if I bought winter and summer tirs & rims ( $3000 for my two cars), they will give lifetime Free installation rotation. They did that for couple of years and now on my 3rd year they refused to do it. I have seen other customers complain about them in the waiting room. On a number of occasions I had items missing from car after service. Bottom line, avoid them if you can. Not recommended as they dont care about customer loyalty.

I have been coming to Star Tires for two years or so now. They have really good prices and they are quick at the job. The front desk staff are very helpful. This year I came in woefully unprepared, and the staff were patient with me helped me figure out what size rims I needed and I only had to wait an hour and a half to get my car back from them. The only word of caution I would have is that they do not book appointments, it is first come first served. I personally like this method. I very highly recommend Star Tires next time you need to get your tires changed or need new ones.

Background: traded my vehicle in at Harvard Auto. Part of the agreement was a free set of winter tires on rims to be supplied by Star Tire. The good: I got my winter tires at no charge (free labour too). This is thanks to Harvard. Star Tire installed the tires and they didn't fall off so that's good too. The bad: this place does not take appointments. I cannot wrap my head around this. If you want to wait four hours for your tires to be switched, come here. If you want to make an appointment like a normal person go to Scotia Tire or something. Further: after specifying twice, the tires I received were not in fact on their own rims. When I noticed this and came back in, the Star Tire staff blamed this on Harvard Auto even though I twice told Star Tire what the expectation was. This shop fails to meet expectations. Further still: if you come here at a busy time, your car will get blocked in and you will have to wait to find a staff member to move a car so you can get out. The parking lot is small and people will block other cars in. It's very hard to get out.

Great customer service. When I drove by, I thought it was a little garage shop with one bay.... but was I ever wrong! They have at least 4 bays to work on vehicles plus a huge storage bay all in the back. They were super accommodating. I had asked them to have a look at my front brakes when they had a wheel off and one of the gentlemen there came right over once they got the wheels off and took me to the vehicle so I could have a look. Great prices here as well!

Can't recommend this shop, never ever to anyone. I had 3 Bridgestone Blizzak in good condition and 1 Michelin winter tires for this season and I know the Michelin was completely worn out (had cracks in the thread, tire didn't hold air for long compared to other 3 tires last season) and the staff also confirmed that needs to be changed during initial inspection. Recommendation is to put 2 new tires in the back and 2 of my Blizzak at the front. After the tires change, I took the car home as it was heavily rained in the eve and then noticed the issue. I saw the Michelin is on the front so it is 1 Blizzak & 1 Michelin (not even sure whether it was my old michelin or they put different here) on the front, 2 new Yokohama tires in the back. So went back to the shop, asked why was I not informed about the Michelin on the rim again before I leave. I had to fight hard with the front desk attendant to put back 2 Bridgestone on the front as it is completely done on purpose because they tried to secure t2 Blizzak tires for the backdoor sale (or whatever reason). Attendant casually saying they only see the depth of the thread and not the cracks in the middle of the tire!! what a lame excuse! On the end, Front desk attendant is giving me a pen as compliment for what all happened thinking I would forget everything for his gift and asked apologies many times!!! I spent 200$ per tire before tax plus the labor charge from their shop which is the highest priced brand tire they have. Who needs their pen with their name on it as if they provided best quality service to remember for years!!. Trust and honesty is not all present in their business is what I could completely see as there is no transparency at all from the time I stepped in to the shop. I trusted them and gave my car, on return they tried to utilize me, cheated and on the top of everything, they put my life on danger on the roads!! Guess what I asked them to giveback my 1 leftover Blizzak and let them keep my worn out michelin. They deserved it for sure! Please stay away from the shop like this!

Needed new 18" tires for my car, which usually cost upwards of $200 a pop for mid-range and these guys sold high quality, name brand tires for $130 a piece. They put them on immediately and it only took about 20 minutes. Will return in the future for all tire needs :)

In October I purchased 4 new tires from William who gave me a good deal. Service was great.In the meantime I had another tire installer mount my tires 3 of the tires were balanced ok but the forth wasn`t ,they said it might be a bent rim or a bad spot in the tire.Long story short went back to William .Within a half hour tire was checked and rebalanced and i was on my way Thanks William at Star Tire

I had a low drivers rear tire thus morning. My husband got the air in with an air compressor from the van. He told me the tire are from - Star Tire - for me to drop by and have them look at it. Knowing an employee for this place, they crash your cars and fix the cracked paint with sharpies, they steal money from your cars, and anything they can get their hands on, they overpay you for cheap Chinese tires, and they 100% take advantage of their customers. Negative 1 !!!! Please do not go here ! My moms boyfriend went here and his wheel fell off!! He got tires installed Saturday and today his wheel fell off ! He is safe and ok but this could of been very dangerous situation had he been on the highway! After talking to another friend she to had a situation where her wheel was very very loose after tire install ! I have to write this to warn people so they don't Encounter a terrible situation ! Star tire will not help him with the tow bill or damages on his vehicle !!! Aweful service ! I work in the automotive industry and this just scares me ! People please be careful and chose wisely ! $160 for a tire install is a bit much. Lesson learnt for not wanting to wait. Called my regular garage (who i couldnt get into until next week) and they said they only charge $100 taxes in for a new to put on rim install. Never never again. Save your money and time, so elsewhere

They sold me winter rims and tires. They installed them and I thought the tires looked different on the truck. It turned out the offset was wrong and the front tires had been rubbing against the suspension. I took it back to them they did not apologize, I found him rather rude and they charged me an instillation fee to remove the tires from the rims. He replaced the tires which now had a grove on the inside sidewall. He even insisted that the groove on the inside sidewall was not a safety hazard. My brother also had a bad experience with them. This is a place I would avoid.

Horrible customer service. I originally called to see if I could purchase a tire and to get my winter tires on as a mechanic had informed me one of them was no good. Once I got to star tires they tried to sell me more tires and told me the others were no good. i assured them I just left another mechanic who checked all 4 tires and there was only an issue with one. I drove from Dartmouth to Sackville thinking I was going to be getting winter tires on only to be told I needed to buy even more because they deemed them as “unfit”. So I was told he would sell me a tire but I could go elsewhere to get the work done. Very disappointing since I called beforehand to make sure it would not be an issue. I was then told I would get a “great price” for the inconvenience and then was charged full price. They are clearly only trying to get as much money as possible from customers and do not value their work. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

1 star is far too much for these people. I have a toyota corolla only a couple years old. Went there to get rims for my tires and they sold me the dinkiest looking rims ( all i could afford at the time ) but I have had problems with people putting on my tires since then! They put the rims on the tires for me and someone had actually joked that its almost like they drilled holes to make them fit. really does seem like thats what they did! Finally got some answers after driving on them for a year or two. took them to a mechanic and he was outraged that i have been driving on these this long and havent died on the highway yet. the rims were forced to fit my car. They obviously knew this but wanted the sale. Beyond furious. DONT GO HERE FOR RIMS, clearly they do not care about safety.

I went in the other day to get a simple tire rotation, what I noticed was terrible. There was an older man in the back lot yelling at what looked to be an employee and had a hold of his shirt. This was before I entered the shop. So I turned around and left. Im not sure what place of business these people think theyre running but that is not legal in Canada. I demand anyone with any sense of human decency to boycott this abusive establishment.
