I am a employee of coast tire, so my opinion on the service may be bias to some!! All I know is from my personal perspective on our goals and motives for clients existing and new, our goal is always to provide efficient service with a kind and understanding personality, as it can be intimidating for some folk to go to an auto shop!! We try to cut out the stereotypes that auto shops are shady people just trying to make money off you and your vehicle(s).Our motives are simple, keep people safe while on the road, and maybe help them learn something new along the way!! We encourage people to make inquires about their vehicle(s) so they may know what's going on if at all anything is in fact going on. The more you know about your vehicle(s) the better you may feel that we are not just trying to make money off you, but rather simply help you get back on the road safely!! Thank you!!

Great service! I only came in to have a tire re-greased and valve stem replacement. No bs. Made me feel at home and didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. I will be buying my next set of tires and having all my service done here moving forward! Thanks again! Update! I continue to use this location. I brought my car in to get the exhaust fixed and they attached the wrong part because they didn't want to wait and order the correct one i guess? They didn't tell me in person but wrote on the receipt "You need to buy a new muffler to get this exhaust piece to look correct, because now the exhaust pipe and muffler are lower due to not fitting properly." thanks coast tire. never getting my money again! I wouldn't recommended this place

I have to say, I'm genuinely dissatisfied with the level of service I recieved from the service representative I spoke to this morning on the phone. I called in to compare cost on a couple of different tire options, understanding fully that my selected options were special-order performance tires that have to come from the manufacturer, that aren't typically kept in stock. I was informed that "since I have to call the manufacturer for a price" that I should "just pick one you want and tell me so I can order them." However, that defeats the purpose of my inquiry, as weighing the cost differences is exactly what would determine the tire option I would select. In doing my own homework I've got a rough idea of the relative cost, but what I wanted was a comparative figure, and an all-in cost, mounted and balanced. Apparently that was just too much to ask for.

Had my car inspected and summer tires put on last week - they got me in quick (within a couple of days), it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, and they were all very pleasant to deal with. A few days after my inspection, I noticed a funny sound coming from one of my brakes so I stopped back in to make an appointment to get it looked at, and they actually were able to check it out and fix the issue right then and there! Overall good experience and reasonable prices, I’d recommend them :)

Very nice tire place to installed tire on your car, SUV and trucks. Very good service and choice of tires. They also store your tire for six months. Location is excellent, lot of shops around. Parking is limited.

I tried a couple of different garages in Halifax (with less than stellar experiences) before going to Coast Tire & Auto Service on Young St., but once I did, I've continued to return to them. I've been going here for over a year now for all of my auto needs and they have been wonderful. Their customer service is great (friendly & courteous), they fully explain anything that needs to be done and they don't try to up-sell you on work. They will let you know if you will need work on something in the future, but won't push you to get it done early. They've been great about working me in within a day or two if something sudden happens. The prices for both parts and labour are competitive, which saves me from having to shop around for quotes. They use Casino cab if you need a ride, so you're not stuck there or paying out of pocket, which is a really nice touch, even if I've used it rarely. They also offer a discounts for CAA members. Honestly, if you need work done in the city, go to this garage!

Please be aware!!! My father recently had this company install 2 new tires on his truck. Within a week one of the tires had came off without warning, while driving on Kearney Lake Road. Clearly the tire was not installed properly. He is just thankful it wasn't during traffic time, as he had little control of the truck and someone could have gotten seriously injured or died. When he informed Coast Tire of the incident they blamed him and offered a 30 dollar discount if he purchased another tire. He told them he was no longer interested in their business, as they showed little concern. I am writing this review, because as a mother this is very concerning to me and don't want this to happen to anyone else. It is a good thing my father has over 50 years driving experience, had it been an inexperience driver the outcome could have been different.

I'd avoid here if at all possible. I thought at first I was getting reasonable prices and good service. They've continually "done the work needed" on my car to be road safe. Went to Hank's for a second opinion and they were shocked at the work that had been done and all things missed by Coast.

Since purchasing my car I've been going to Coast Tire & Auto Service for all of my automotive needs. The staff are awesome and super friendly. The prices are standard for HRM but the customer service is what puts this place above the rest. Plus their mechanics do great work!

Had my A/C repaired in June 2015. Come Feb 2016, the "fix" leaked all out at the new joint/compression fitting due to heating and cooling on the brass fittings (probably a winter cold-snap). 800 bucks for 3 months of A/C. Warranty is only 90 days. I stopped using the A/C in Oct. Not impressed. Maybe replace the whole line next time, like I requested. Will not return.

Amazing service. I woke up to a flat tire the morning I was supposed to drive across the country. I called Coast Tire at 8am, I asked if they could help, they said I could drop my car off and they could see if they could squeeze me in somewhere if they had a cancellation. I dropped my car off at 8, and was called by 9 with my car ready, they didn't charge me for a new tire, they repaired the one I had. $35 dollars and one hour later I was on the road. They were so helpful and friendly and professional, would highly recommend this company.

$823 later and my interior needs to be detailed. I sent the car in for routine maintenance work and safety. It was completed as expected however what was unexpected was that my door panel would be strained with grease from the technician. Some garages take the care to wash your car when you bring it in. These guys seem to dirty it. If you're driving a beater and can't fix the issue take it here if you care about your car and the condition of more than just the mechanical take your're business elsewhere. Note: they did offer to clean up the mess however I'll take care of it myself if they couldn't be bothered to take care the first time I don't trust them to correct the issue the second time around.

A year ago my husband and I bought a used Kia Soul from O’Regan’s Wholesale Direct and O’Regan’s used this place to do our motor vehicle inspection. Your mechanics apparently said everything was great and gave it a pass, however a week after purchasing the car we had a major oil leak and a slew of other problems and now our parking brake isn’t working. We were told by our auto repair shop that you guys should never have given a good inspection towards our car. It seems like this place has some shady business practices.

I would never recommend anyone to go to the coast tire on young st. They are incompetent of doing their jobs correctly and well mannered. I had my car misdiagnosed with parts that "needed" to be fixed and gave me a quote of $900. I went elsewhere and had it fixed for half the price and still was hearing noises in the front. Turns out the brakes hose is ready to fall apart into pieces and when I confronted them about this they became very ignorant and arrogant trying to turn it aroujd and blame the situation on either me or the other mechanic that well diagnosed it. They're pathetic workers that will check your car in a lazy way and tell you that any part is wrong on it just to get money from you and not care about your safety. Its sickening.

I've been going to Coast tire on young st since I moved to Halifax over six years ago. They do great work, and they don't try and take advantage of you by trying to talk into fixing more, or buying more. They actually looked at my car, told me it's either problem A, or B. Both were covered under my warranty so they told me to take it to my dealer, and didn't charge me anything, when they could have easily did the work and made money off of me. This is a great place to get your vehicle looked after.

Took my girlfriends car in for inspection.. was told it needed about 1000 dollars of work. Took it right away to another mechanic and was quoted a couple of problems for a quarter of the price. You want integrity and good service then do not go to these scam artists. Too bad we can not give negitive reviews as I would. Worst in the city.. customer service is a joke... If you wanna go here then flush hundreds of dollars in the toilet and then stick ur head in the toilet. Would be a way better experience...
