Trustworthy, reliable, educational and kind are a few words that come to mind when I think about Stephan and this little auto shop he manages. It was about a month ago now that I first took my car in to resolve a conflicting report between two other shops and I've been meaning to write a review ever since as Stephan went the extra mile to ensure all was well. I was fairly sure I had nothing to worry about but I really needed a third party to put this gnawing issue to rest and that's exactly what Stephan did. He graciously accommodated my request and took the time to explain the possible outcomes using an in-store demo so I understood exactly what was going on. I don't know cars but I do love learning so this gesture meant a lot. He also walked me back into the bay when it was time so I could see for myself that all was in fact well :) He even suggested I come back to have my wheels re-torqued, revealing his attention to quality and detail, as no one else has ever recommended I do this. The next time my car needs attention I won't hesitate to bring it here - thanks again Stephan!!

I took my 2011 car here for a broken muffler. They performed a courtesy check over the whole car, and found a few other issues that did not surprise me since it is an older car and I’ve never really had to do any major repairs before. Stephan called me after the inspection and gave me a complete breakdown of all the issues and costs associated with each repair. He also gave me options (ie repair can wait, needs done now, etc) which I really appreciated. I ended up getting all of the recommended repairs done, as well as an oil change, and they did a great job for a very reasonable price. Overall they were very honest and professional, and I will definitely bring my car back here in the future! Thank you!

I needed a screw in my tire repaired. After delivering my car and waiting the 45 minutes I was called and told that they "would give me the bad news in person". A lengthy argument proceeded, wherein the clerk told me the screw was in the wall of the tire. Knowing this was incorrect I challenged it. The mechanic then walked me to my car to show me the screw and stated: It was not in the center of the tread therefor it was in the wall. He then proceeded to tell me everything "wrong" with my car, from rotors, to brakes, to air filter. He used terminology I could not understand and pointed at objects I could not see. He would not let me interject to ask questions. When I stated I would drive my car to a families shop the mechanic said "Don't be surprised if it breaks down on the side of the road". The whole thing felt very threatening. I left getting no work done and got the tire repaired several days later. Either they were bullying me for more money or are incompetent at repairs.

I called made an appointment. Gave them 24 hours to fix a tail light. Came back next day nothing was done they didn't bother to call to let me know. Also they charge 300-500$ more on top of what the price should be.

Midas has been an amazing, fast, local resource for our car repairs and maintenance. Fair pricing and fast service. Twice we have taken our cars in to have something checked out, and when they were found to have some minor hiccup, they did not charge us. For example, once the car was vibrating weirdly, and they found snow in the wheel well. Sent us off with no charge, even for the time it took them to suss out the problem. They are punctual, communicative, and friendly. Definitely our local go-to when we can't get to our regular Volvo mechanic. Highly recommend.

Great customer service. I had booked an appointment online and thought it was confirmed and good. I showed up early and no appointment was in their books. Because every technician was busy the one from the customer service counter said he'd do my oil change and did not make me wait at all????. With that they discovered a problem with my tire and made me aware and was also able to fix that. Will be returning for my next oil change.

Fantastic service from these guys today!! Stephan was knowledgeable, professional, and very informative. They have an old school sense of professionalism about them. They treat their customers with respect. The team is extremely thourough. They do a full examination of your vehicle, and then will create a gameplan with you to get you back and running safely. I've used Midas as my go-to for maintenance for a few years now and they've always been excellent, especially today. I had to get my car towed to them after it died and they were great about it, even though due to a Hyundai thing they were unable to fix the problem. Totally not their fault and they let me hang out there to wait for a second tow over to the dealership, and didn't charge me for anything. Always courteous, professional, and friendly. They do their best to explain any issues your car might have and the best solutions, and I always feel confident in taking my vehicle to them. Thanks!

I moved to Guelph a few years ago and needed a mechanic./service center for my hybrid car. I called in to this Midas location, and had such a positive experience that first time that I've been a regular customer ever since. My interactions with Stephan and Brian have been fantastic. They are competent, timely, and excellent at communicating your options in a no-pressure environment. They have never tried to upsell me on any service or part, and give me honest and transparent quotes on work and the seriousness of any issues that arise with my vehicle. So I went to Midas after the techs (if you even consider them that) at Economy Lube in Kitchener messed with my car 3 times. First time oil change second time to replace oil pan and transmission pan for a leak and hole in my oil pan that the guys at Economy Lube didn't even mention before I left. After getting oil pan replaced more leaks, 3rd time new Transmission pan mind you it should have been newly installed with the oil pan but they got me aftermarket and horribly coated it....STILL LEAKS which could have risked my life on the road had the car's transmission got ruined. THE GUYS HERE AT MIDAS GUELPH SAVED ME AND MY CAR! I OWE IT TO THEM! They were honest and thorough and brought me comfort every step of the way. They explained the repairs and explained the previous problems and how they fixed them and you can just tell they know their stuff. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED INSTEAD YOULL FEEL HAPPY AND RELIEVED YOU FOUND HONEST MECHANICS! THANKS GUYS! Im honestly happy I found my go to people.

This place has just opened in the past year and, so far, I've started with oil changes and proceeded with some more complex mechanical repairs. Even bought a set of tires outside of promotion periods for a fair price. I find them friendly, honest and professional. Prices are competitive and mechanics know what they are doing. I hope the reputation building period continues into the future as it is hard to find a mechanic that is consistently honest, fair and reliable.

I paid $1100 for three of their mechanics to fix my brakes in May and I already have to replace them before November because they didn't grease the calipers. They refused to fix it because only "some" of it was covered by their shoddy warranty. They now want me to pay another $900 for their mistake.

Dropped in to ask about some exhaust noise from under the hood. They were busy but put my car on the hoist right away. At this point I was already impressed with the professional but friendly way I was treated. I also noticed how professionally and honestly they spoke to the young lady in the waiting room. I was able to watch them diagnose my system and 5 minutes later the verdict: my exhaust was near the end of its days and would need replacement sooner than later - but not today. The immediate problem was a pin-hole leak at the flex pipe - quickly fixed with the application of some exhaust cement. Best of all - no charge. Thank you and for sure I will be back when my exhaust needs replacing.

I took my daughters car to this location because she noticed fumes were coming in through the vents when stopped at a light or stop sign. I would have to say that the Service Manager, Stephan, is probably one the the very best customer service reps I have ever met. My daughters car had a hole in the Catalytic Converter. We had a family member die from carbon monoxide poisoning from an exhaust leak, so to say we were concerned about this is an understatement. Even though they were very busy, her car was taken in and repaired the same day. As I sat in the lobby I observed Stephan handling multiple customers, phones and other staff with a calmness and patient manner. Always a smile and friendly demeanour towards everyone. I've been to this location several times. A couple of them in a pinch for time. The entire staff pulls through everytime. Communication is on point with constant updates about your service and vehicles. Loaner car(s) always on standby, too. Consistent, too.

My wife referred me over here as she has her 3M fleet vehicle serviced at this place and said Stephan was amazing at customer service. Well, he is. Took my 2017 Tacoma sport in for a transmission fluid flush and was totally impressed. Stephan even went the extra mile to walk me through the procedure as a lot of work on this truck, I do myself, Like oil changes, tire rotations etc. The trans flush was a bit much for driveway work. Everything was explained. Online quote systems works really well. Not many service managers are like Stephan, so expect to be treated with courtesy and professionalism. would give 6 stars if possible. Great work!
