I’d give 0 star if it’s an option. Took the car in for a quick look and quote in order to determine if to proceed with the repair. We previously went to Dino’s (highly highly recommended BTW) and received an opinion, free of charge (didn’t proceed because they didn’t have the part). There was no mentioning of charge, no agreement whatsoever. When we went to pick up the car, we were charged with an “inspection fee” for half an hour labour, even though it’d be a look of literally a minute or two. Unless you like surprises like this, stay away from this place, because you don’t know what they’ll charge you until after the fact.

I needed to get back for a meeting and the gentlemen at Brock Road Garage were kind enough to squeeze my car in for service even though they were busy. By far my best experience with professional car services in Guelph. They did a thorough inspection of my car and gave recommendations. Paul is a gem of a person. My car is so old, he suggested to replace it instead of spending money on fixing parts. They charged only for an hour of labour.

They always do their best to find the lowest priced parts when necessary, their labour pricing is fair, and their service is friendly, professional and timely. I have been dealing with the folks at Brock Road Garage for a number of years now. I have always been very happy with the service and with the help they have given me. They have definitely save me money on some repairs (I had checked with my dealer, who recommended things that were not necessary). But Brock Road have also helped me when an emergency occurred, and they found the minor problem (it wasn't really an emergency--but I thought it was) they fixed the problem, and because it was so minor, did not charge me. They have guided me through the regular car challenges of my last two cars. I find them reasonable, through, very accommodating and scrupulously honest. Thanks guys - because of you I have a happy car, and a happy wallet. Spring 2018 - got regular maintenance done, and summer tires all done - once again I 'm a happy customer.

I've been dealing with Brock Rd Garage for 18 years. Yes people come and go and the business has changed ownership; but I've never had a problem, either with an appointment or the quality of work. Two years ago I had an AC malfunction. Brock rd was booked solid for 2 weeks so I went back to the dealer for an estimate - $1300. I decide to wait for a Brock Rd appointment. Glad I did - the issue was a $5 relay! Recently I went in for a safety to sell the car - they reported the issues, gave fair quote, fixed em on my 'go-ahead'. So, I'm a happy client and with my new vehicle I'll be doing all the service there except, of course, for warranty work.

They are very up front in communicating things that 'need to be fixed' and things that 'should be done soon' with no BS, or attempts to sell me repairs I don't need. Been here a few times before. Most recently I had to get my car towed here since they were able to fix it that week and its close to where I live. The people were nice enough but they charge $250 for a new battery. Then gave an estimate for a deferred work they wanted to do. $1,400. Got a second opinion, $300. Not sure why such a difference in price. Also brought it for an e-test. Said there was a broken Mass Air Flow filter and its a $850 fix, got a second opinion again, $250. Not taking my car back. I feel like they would try and rip you off in a second.

I will tell everyone right now that I will not offer an opinion on their quality of work for I one took my car in one and left when they told me the price. The amount that they charge is beyond rediculous. My engine light was on and I knew that it was caused from an O2 censor. When discussing the asking price, an approximate $500 was expected. I was thinking $140-200 for the 2002 Toyota Corolla. I walked out! Went to another local and paid $186 for 30mins labour, new cable part (110.90) & installation. I will likely never go to this location for they are bandits!

Not Trustworthy - I have been unimpressed with Brock Garage on earlier experiences but decided to try them again when my check engine light came on. They quoted 750.00 to replace a Mercedes thermostat. The dealer did it with Mercedes parts for almost 200.00 less. Will not be back.

I used BRG Tirecraft twice in the past 6 months, and I am impressed. Before calling them, I scouted few other repair shops but needed someone who has expertise in German vehicles. After reading all reviews (both positive and negative ones) for BRG and doing my own research for best parts to be used on my vehicle, I called Paul and asked many how and why questions. I was impressed by both Paul and Shaun knowledge of high-performance parts, their patience, and politeness. They answered most of my questions, and did research on those questions that they couldn’t answer. My questions where specific as I was looking for finding best parts for the vehicle that would outperform OEM components. When I took the vehicle in for inspection, they sent me an estimate with a detailed report that include pictures. Not many garages especially dealerships would offer pictures of the vehicle condition when they do an inspection service. I authorized the service and the final bill was lower than the estimate. A good service is one that's honest, professional and respectful of clients. An excellent service is one that includes the above but goes above and beyond what clients expect. And I found Brock Road Garage excellent vehicle repair shop. My advice to anyone who needs to use any vehicle repair garage is to ask questions, then question the answers you get. If the garage gets annoyed with questions look for another repair shop.

I have never had any work completed here but I can say how I felt we were treated poorly in one situation here: We had to go to Brock Road Garage because it was the closest to where my husband was when the truck was having problems. We got the quote around $3000 reasonable for the work needed to be done but I could not afford this. They said there was no way to reduce the cost for us. I came in because they had a to make a change on a previous quote. The person on the phone said they had made an error and made me think it would be less. When I came in it took about 5 minutes for someone to greet me even though there were 3 employees standing around. I wanted to get the truck towed to a friends garage. I asked for the key and the person at the desk said "and then what?". I told him we wanted to get it towed to a friends garage and he said "you still have an outstanding bill". So I went to grab my wallet and then had to wait another 7 minutes while he typed the invoice. I was upset because I had my newborn son and carrier and had to wait and a customer asked if I needed a ride because I was crying; I said "its not that..." The employee made a comment saying "its the truck" even though it was the way I had to wait and be treated poorly just because I wanted to go to a different shop. One employee did hold the door open for me when I left and some of the conversations over the phone we were treated well. It just felt like they didn't genuinely care for their 'potential' customers.

Just wanted to write a review given that I chose Brock Road based on this rating site. I did not have a good experience. They did not show up for my Saturday appointment, even though I confirmed in person 5 days in advance and received a confirmation email the day before. They would take no responsibility for this significant inconvenience to me. I am unable to trust people who won't own their error (and who lie to cover it up), and I need to be able to trust my mechanics. ** I have just read the owners response. I am reeling a bit with all the lies. I missed no appointments. Shaun didn't call me. Melissa didn't call me. There was no effort to communicate with me. Not before and not after their 'no show.' I called them. At which point there was no effort to resolve the error. The entire owner's response here is fabricated. I am truly astounded. A scheduling error could have been easily resolved. All these lies? Not so much. I struggled with whether to even post here since I have no desire to simply 'bad mouth' people and I'm not a 'review writer'. However I've learned from other people's experiences sometimes and just thought I'd share mine.

Been taking my cars here for a couple years now. They have reasonable rates. I find them trustworthy and honest, and do a quality job. Some people may not find their schedule accommodating enough but that’s just the reality of their availability. Small team and popular because they do good work. So you just need to have the right expectations and plan ahead. They may not be the best when you have an emergency and need something on short notice, but that’s how she goes. There are plenty of other places around that have capacity for that.

One concern I have is when I dropped my car off all my headlights were working, but when I picked it up one light was out. Shelley, Monday January 27th I was dropping off my wife's vehicle and heard part of the mostly one sided conversation between your husband and Paul. A request was made for an on the spot diagnosis so that the vehicle can be taken to his regular shop and be fixed. Paul was offering to be very accommodating. Paul first offered to inspect the vehicle that day explaining how they are booked up but will do everything they can, was not good enough. Paul then offered to have the vehicle inspected by noon as he stated he understood he was from out of town. Still was not good enough. How can anyone expect that a check engine light diagnosis is simple and quick? My ride arrived and that's when I left. One thing I know of the staff at Brock Road is that they go over and above to do everything they can to fix or maintain your vehicle. Knowing that you typically have to book ahead to get an appointment due to them being very busy tells you one thing, they are good! Keep up the hard work and dont let one bad apple ruin the day!

Lost a ball joint over a weekend, had my car towed to Brock Road Garage & left them a key in their dropbox. Went in on Monday and got quick service with a clear timeline for when the car would be examined & serviced. Received a followup phonecall on schedule that detailed both the work that was NEEDED to get the car back on the road safely and the work that COULD be done to improve the ride quality, but wasn't strictly necessary. Gave them the go-ahead for the needed work, went to pick up my vehicle, and the technician reviewed the work that was done and showed me the optional fixes and explained why they were optional. Costs & workmanship seem reasonable (not an expert), and their service was excellent. Clear explanations, timelines, and good communication. Would recommend.

Recently, I was in Guelph to bring my daughter to University there. The day before I had to leave to make an 8 hour drive home alone, I noticed that I had a very low tire. I brought it to Brock Rd Garage to see if they could help me out. The best they could do was tell me they wouldn’t be able to fit me in for more than a week, gave me some air and sent me on my way. They would not take 10 minutes to see what was wrong and did not care that this was an extenuating circumstance where I had to make a long trip on the highway the next day. Fortunately, I went up the street to Economy Lube where in 30 minutes, they patched my tire, which ended up having a huge nail in it, and changed the oil for me as well. My daughter needs new tires for her car and we certainly won’t be going to Brock Road Garage for them.

I’ve been a customer at Brock Road for years and I have to say I agree with a few others who have said they cannot understand the negative comments because I cannot say enough good things about Brock Road and the staff that worked there. Here are a just a few of the experiences I’ve had: The first time I went to Brock Road was to get my oil changed and breaks fixed. Gary asked when it was changed last when I was dropping off and I said I couldn’t recall (use to go to another shop back then). He asked if I kept my service receipts and I told him there was a pile of stuff in the glove box. He called me a couple hours later and told me to take my car to Canadian Tire because I still had like 3 weeks left on my break warranty and they would fix it there for free. He literally took time to go through my record and find that info, then turn away several hundred dollars worth of service – I’m not sure where else would do that. After getting Canadian Tire to fix my breaks, I never went anywhere else but Brock. (Side note, I had a quote from Canadian Tire to fix my breaks who conveniently never bothered to mention they were still under warranty). Another time I ended up dropping my car off at Brock and my business trip ended up being longer so I had my mom pick up my car. She went in didn’t realize the work wasn’t paid for yet and hadn’t brought her wallet . They let her take the car without a question asked. I got back a week later and went in to pay, slightly embarrassed. Gary was at the front and said it was no problem and that he knew I’d eventually come back in. It’s not just that great service they do on the vehicles but the customer service they provide to clients. Recently I needed new tires, Gary said he’s look around and get me some great options at good prices. That’s exactly what I got, the best 3 options at amazing prices. They exceed my expectations every time. Every time I go in, they are expecting my car and know why I’m there. They are always offering rides or pick-ups and are beyond accommodating when you need something. Yes, they are small so you might have to wait 30 seconds for someone at front desk to get off the phone or while they help the person in front of you but I’m glad they aren’t a massive money hungry operation, it’s what makes the help and service you get from them so genuine. That being said, I’m always in and out of there under 10 minutes. Honestly, there’s nobody I trust with my car more. To get honest info and fair quotes is priceless. On top of that, I cannot believe how much they treat their clients like family. How often I’ve gone in with a question or concern and they’ve checked or fixed small things for free (even when they are swamped). It honestly feels like you have family looking after you and I’m not sure what other business out there treats their customers like that. Kat

They couldn't really fix the brakes of my Jetta. After a few time that I came back for the brakes, they told me that the radiator wasn't correctly fix and other things (from a previous accident). So they quoted the repair for over a thousand dollars. I went to Crosby VW for a second opinion and they told me that nothing needed to be done on the car. I will never go back there.

I brought my car into Brock Road Garage because it was close by and I was desperate for a second opinion. To my surprise, they quoted me at much less than the dealership and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I’ll start by saying I am a 20yr mechanic by trade who has done a career change and still work on vehicles on my off time. A friend of mine took her Land Rover in after her son hit a curb and blew the right front tire. She needed a new tire and wanted the vehicle checked to make sure it was safe. She was told that it needed over $2500 worth of work to make it safe. She called me in a panic. I said I would have a look and could do the repairs. I found absolutely no issues with the vehicle and she took it to another shop to get an alignment done and the shop was able to perform the alignment without finding any issues?? Always get a second opinion. All these shops are there to scam you. I’ve been there. If the customer thinks there’s a problem, it’s the mechanics job to make sure there is one. I’m disgusted with this garage.

Friendly staff to deal with on the phone. Very happy with the service on the car as well as the timely manner in which it was serviced. A detailed report was sent to me be email with pictures that identified the issues after the inspection. I was then able to discuss the identified issues over the phone and decide which ones I would like serviced immediately. I really enjoyed having this report for transparency but also to have for my records in case there are future issues with these same parts. I will be going to this garage again for all my future automotive service needs. My appointment was during COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions and Brock Road Garage did an outstanding job making it very easy to follow these restrictions. Communication was excellent- I knew exactly what to expect and didn't have to have any face-to-face contact with anyone at the garage. If you are hesitant to get your car serviced because of physical distancing concerns (as I was), then I strongly recommend you go to Brock Road Garage as every possible precaution was taken.

Brock Road Garage (BRG) was the first garage I want to where I could trust with 100% certainty the findings and recommendations given to me for servicing my car. I have not gone anywhere else since finding BRG eight years ago. Helmuth, the now-retired owner, gave me total confidence in the needs of and the work done on my vehicles, as does Gary, who now operates BRG. This garage is uniquely honest and customer-oriented. For example, when I took my car in for servicing and was told there were several repairs needed due to rust, Helmuth and Gary told me I should trade it in instead of paying them to fix it, because that was in my best interest. (And no, they do not deal in car trades or sales--it was entirely in my best interest, and not in theirs). Also, a quote on repairs to an oil pan, CJ boot, and gasket that I agreed to turned out to be 1/3 of the quote because the mechanic discovered the leak was reparable without replacing the parts after all. Finally, BRG advised me to take my car to the dealer to have a ball joint replaced since the warranty had expired just a couple of days before, after they called the dealer to inquire on my behalf, instead of having BRG replace it for me to save me the money. Where would you ever find a garage with that much integrity and honesty? Add to this the fact that customer names are always remembered, free use of a car is available, if needed, while your vehicle is in the shop, and free drop off in the morning and pick up at the end of the day is offered. This is likely the best garage in Canada, bar none. I would give it many more than 5 stars if this online rating system would let me!! *********************************************************************************************

My daughter brought her car to the shop on Monday to have it diagnosed. We were referred to this garage. She was told that they could not look at the car until noon at the earliest, her Dad asked if they could just quickly put it on the hoist and diagnose it. They were told by someone in the shop "here is a phone book, call every garage in Guelph, and tell them how special you are" I am completely disgusted that this is how any business would allow people to speak to potential customers - I just hope it wasn't the owner who said this, and if it was, shame on you!! Good news travels , but remember that bad news travels really fast!!!!!!

Great experience at Brock Road Tirecraft not that long ago. They were able to bring our vehicle in within an appropriate timeframe and get the work done quickly. Price was reasonable. We especially appreciated the care and extra measures that their team is putting in to protect both their employees and the customers during this difficult time. Took my car in for a 30 minute inspection today after starting to hear a noise a few days ago. After taking it in this morning, staff shared unfortunate news that my car has severe damage that will be more to fix than its worth (my car is almost 12 years old)... following a discussion with them about significant safety issues/estimate of repair they said they would not charge me for the inspection/report they did. When I started working in Guelph in 2014, commuting from Brampton, Brock Road Garage was recommended as a local shop. I have NEVER had an unpleasant surprise in the way the staff have served me (I've had a few "oh, really?" when they've told me the 'bad news', but that's what maintaining a car can be). They have replaced my transmission and my engine with lengthy warranties and competitive prices on each, translating to great value. On several occasions they have suggested 'work around', cost saving solutions for my high mileage vehicle. They've invoiced less than quoted on several occasions. No, I don't work there ;-) they're just honest, up-front people running an honest business, and though I no longer work in Guelph I still service my car there, driving from Brampton, and taking a loaner to do so. I can see why there are so many glowing reviews, they earn it.

I have been taking my vehicles to Brock Road Garage for a few years and one thing I can say for certain is that I have 100% trust and confidence in this team. I read the review concerning a quote on a Land Rover that resulted in an ill-informed complaint that suggested Brock Road Garage is a scam. This couldn't be further from the truth - this garage is the complete opposite of scammers. I take three daily use vehicles and an older model Porsche to Brock Road for all my routine maintenance and repairs. An initial estimate has always been worst case scenario so there are no surprises. Each time my vehicles are assessed I am advised what work is required to ensure my safety and what can wait until my next visit. A comprehensive report with photographic evidence of issues found during the assessment is provided and explained in detail. Unlike a typical dealership service centre, techs and staff at smaller independent auto shops do not work on commission. These guys do not try to up-sell to serve their own interests, and if cheaper parts are an option they ensure I am informed before doing any work. With four vehicles I have shelled out a lot of money in repairs over the last few years and I have never had an experience with Brock Road Garage where I felt scammed or taken advantage of. That is just not how they operate. A repeat customer is far more desirable than a one time customer and a bad review. To the crew at Brock Road Garage - thank you for your service and care with my vehicles, and your dedication to good customer service.

After many years of having our vehicles maintained by the dealer, we decided to branch out and went to Brock Road Garage after our daughter recommended them. Both my husband and I had work completed on our separate vehicles and we were both impressed. When my car went in, we received a detailed overview, along with pictures of the work that was required. They only worked on what was needed and he gave some recommendations for the future but explained that it was not necessary right now and to just keep an eye on it. The cost was reasonable and the service was professional. We will definitely take our cars back for any future work and would highly recommend them.

Thought I had a wheel bearing problem and made an appointment for their first slot available that was later in the week. Sean went the extra mile to ask me to drop by so he could do a quick test drive to see if he could determine the problem and maybe would be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. This would save me money as I could take it to manufacturer for a warranty repair. After the test drive it turned out a few of my wheel nuts were loose so an easy fix - which he did at no charge. I had an airbag light on from a worn out steering-wheel clock spring as well as a headlight out. A friend of ,mine recommended I take my car to Brock road to get it fixed. They aren't open on weekends which admittedly is a bit of a hassle so I shopped around a bit and was quoted several (higher) prices for the repair before taking it back to this location. The staff were helpful, friendly, and super accommodating with my work schedule, they ordered the part and had the repairs done pretty quickly as promised and even went as far as to offer me a loaner car for the afternoon at no extra cost. 10/10 would definitely recommend this location.
