I brought my '08 truck in to have the AC checked out as it was not working. After an hour I spoke to the AC guy who told me the refrigerant was down and just needed to be topped up. I asked if there were leaks and he said he checked and could find none. A week later it was not working. Took it to Midas in Halifax who did a dye test (thought they did that in F'ton), he removed the engine skid plate and found an obvious leak. Called back to F'ton to complain as I had to pay again for the same test in Hfx and asked for a full refund. I was offered a refund of the labor charges but not the material charges. I was told by the manager that she understood that they did not do the job but would not refund the cost of material. She said that I should be content with a partial refund. I gave up. Called Toyota and they will do the repairs for about $100 less. Should have gone there first.

I just bought a 06 Honda Accord and the exhaust flange behind the second catalytic converter broke off. I called Midas and they had me booked in only 2 days later despite it being tire season! They gave me a very accutate quote and had it done in under an hour. Tremendous customer service and very friendly staff; the welds looked better than factory!! All in all I was satisfied beyond expectation and would reccomend to anyone!

Kudos to Midas for having the most incredibly ignorant and rude front counter worker, and for helping me to receive what was quite possibly the single worst customer service experience of my life. Last time I checked, belittling women and claiming I could be arrested for not having my MVI slip showing is not only unbelievably ignorant, its also a fine display of chauvinist bigotry. All of this over an oil change - thanks but not thanks, I will happily take my business elsewhere.

Got our company out of an awful situation in record time and came in thousands of dollars cheaper than our previous quotes at competitors. The staff was so friendly and helpful, there was coffee, drinks and free candy available AND there was a sweet puppy that I got to say hello to while I waited in the waiting room. Awesome experience.

great service, honest on what is required, fair prices and appointments are efficient - car gets worked on right at your appointment time unlike the dealership where my car was there 5 hours in queue for an oil change. have had minor and major work done here and it has all been great. also, there is a cute golden retriever in the back! highly recommend this place.

Never had a bad experience at this place. On my most recent visit the mechanics were happy to let me come into the garage while my car was on the lift so I could see the issues with my own eyes, and very patiently answered all my questions. I've seen other mechanics balk or act annoyed when I've asked to do this, so the chipper "sure, why not?" attitude that these guys displayed was appreciated.

These guys have so consistently given me excellent service that at this point I don't bother trying anywhere else when I'm in Fredericton and need something done. Apparently they came under new management about a year ago, which I guess explains the discrepancy between my experience and that of some of the other reviewers here.

I have been to quite a few repair shops in the city over the past few years and I have never had such a great experience as I had with Midas. Matt the owner was friendly and approachable. He explained exactly what was wrong with my vehicle and then took me out and showed me what I needed to replace, I was very impressed with the service. They didn’t try to sell me parts I didn’t need and they were very timely! I am so glad I chose Midas, they exceeded my expectations!

1st great with my brakes and offered good advice for front end work that was badly needed. 2nd replaced already replaced steering parts and was still left with steering problems... don't know if this is the mechanics or the parts themselves but not very happy with the whole 2nd experience.

I had the pleasure of finding that my oil cap was either not secured or not replaced after an oil change at Smythe Street Midas. My vehicle managed to pump oil inside my engine compartment. I'm not sure how long it had been this way. Very concerning. When I went in to talk to them about this they simply checked my dipstick and said the oil level was good. How high was my level before it started pumping out? Was it overfull and built up pressure? Always check your level and cap when you leave one of these places. It could be costly.

Amazing customer service. The main guy at the desk is always super friendly and nice. Gives the coupons you can find on their website without even asking. I wanted to find out why my engine light was on and did not have to pay for them to get and clear the codes. Super impressed with them. I will continue to go back for anything I need done.

Had a muffler emergency while traveling through New Brunswick. F'ton Midas welded things back together to get us to our destination and didn't even charge us. (only took 10 min.) Explained and gave options as well. Very helpful and kind for some frightened tourists!

Me and my girlfriend go to take her Nissan X-Trail in for an MVI inspection, they quote her for 20 minutes labour to replace a licence plate light and high brake lamp. Then proceeded to rewire the entire rear hatch without her consent. Take it home to take a look at the hack job they did to find that they simply twisted wires together, not even using tape on some of the wires! I proceeded to spend the next two hours removing the wiring harness and soldering extensions on the wiring they cut and sealing it with heat shrink tubing. Among all of this, I arrived early for a 2:00 appointment and left at 3:30 for MVI! Needless to say, they will never touch my or her car again. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else, anywhere else; the work that they did on her car could have easily caused more problems, or worse, caused a fire.

Very happy with the service I received. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They didn't try to sell me on any BS that i didn't need. I am consistantly happy with the service I have received at Midas locations across Canada, this location is no different. Also as a bonus there is a 10% military discount which is nice.

Don't ever take your car here for an inspection!!! You will get vastly inflated prices on any needed 'repairs' and they will pressure you into having it done immediately rather than take it elsewhere and save hundreds of dollars. Creepy experience!!

Not a great experience at the Fredericton Midas location. Initial appointment made for 10 a.m. on a Friday for a 4 wheel alignment. Car not taken in until 10:45 a.m. After 10 minutes on hoist, I am informed that left rear upper control arm needs to be replaced. New appointment made for 10 a.m. following Monday. Called by Midas early Monday morning to change the appointment to 3:00 p.m. I watched the entire time the car was being worked on and with a very slow moving mechanic, the control arm was on, and the wheel put back on in 33 minutes. Midas was going to charge me for .75 hrs., however, after being informed of my noted time, it was changed to .5 hrs. The car then goes into another bay for the alignment. When done, I am informed that the battery had died due to the brake lights having to remain on. All the electrical setting had to be re-set with no assistance from Midas. First time I have ever experienced this happen, and I have had a lot of alignments done. When I asked for the alignment diagnosis report, I was told the printer did not work. I was told the same thing 2 yrs. prior to this when I had an alignment done on another car. My other car will be booked for an alignment within the next couple of weeks. It won't be at Midas.

I've been going to Midas for years but after my experience today I will NEVER step foot in another one. I took the day off of work to get some work done on my car that I had made an appointment for the previous week. When I go to check in the front desk guy tells me I have no appointment. After searching and bickering he tells me it was last week and I didn't show up. I made my appointment for May 27 @ 2pm via HIM on the phone, I distinctly remember his voice. They messed up with the scheduling due to not doing their job properly. To top it off he was rude about the situation and basically told me "I don't know what to tell you" "there's nothing I can do". This was YOUR mistake so I expect some sort of apology and you at least to have some manners talking to your clients. This was just another thing I have had gone wrong at this place over the past 6 months. Poor customer service and communication! Save your money and go somewhere that isn't a joke like this place.

Unbelievable customer service...I called there this morning with a major issue with my Elantra. They told me they`d squeeze me in. I arrived within 10 mins of our phone conversation, they took me right in. Gave me a quote right away, VERY reasonably priced...Repairs were done and i was buying a coffee 45 mins later. Avoid Midas Smythe street at all costs! had brakes done and for some reason my trunk wouldn't close when i got my car back..... Owner will try to squeeze every penny out of you, whenever i have gone to midas on smythe my car seems to have more problems when they are done with it than before i brought it in, This shop and Canadian tire are two places you dont want your car to be trust me.

I've had many issues with this location. They are rude and incompetent in my opinion. Also seems to be a consensus that they are overpriced. At one point they said I had many repairs which were necessary, but that it was "too expensive for me" so they would need to scatter them. Turns out none of the issues they raised were even existant. They've also asked me whether I wanted a brake light changed, I declined because I know how to do it on my own. They did it anyways and charged me, I only noticed a while later and didn't really care, but this with all the other troubles I've had here adds to my displeasure. I also had an ongoing issue with my car which I was going to them to fix for a while, they skirted around the issue and fixed just about everything else costing me a decent amount of money. Turns out the problem I went in for was a non-issue which another mechanic quickly found. I had asked for a new set of all season tires at the beginning of summer, they put on a set of winter tires, I hadn't noticed this because my car is loud anyways until the front ones were essentially slicks. This is a mistake that no company should make in my opinion. With another set of new tires, one had been worn and needed to be trashed. They then told me that another one was so worn they would need to trash it as well and I put them into storage. I later found out I have three perfect tires in storage, I am uncertain how I have 3 perfect tires which seem brand new when they told me I should have 2 worn ones. Either they messed up the storage unit with someone else or misinformed me of my tire's status before. And to top all this off, I had another friend go in for his car repairs and when he was there he mentioned my dissatisfaction, they proceeded to show him all my previous work to "get down to the issue" amd try to resolve the problem. He then went in another time and asked about my tires in their storage and they showed him my tires. I know that car repairs aren't personal information per se, but I find it unethical for a company to be sharing their customers past transactions without their permission or knowledge. I find this especially problematic where I am a woman and they showed all my car's history to someone who is a man, as if I need assistance running my vehicle. Edit: Forgot to mention that they refused to do an alignment for me for no reason when I needed one because they claimed it wasn't necessary. Also, since writing this review, when my boyfriend went into Midas for him own vehicle they harassed him about my review telling him he needs to make me take it down.

Midas in Fredericton is the only place I'll take my car to get it fixed. I used to hear horror stories about the place, but since it came under new ownership, I decided to give them a chance. I've had nothing but amazing service from them every time. All the mechanics and people out front are friendly and will always ask before doing something to my car, especially if it's beyond what I've agreed upon originally for repairs. They keep me updated, and have always let me know the total cost ahead of time, so there are no surprises - which is wonderful when you're poor with a dying car. I would recommend them greatly.

This midas location took a 2 year old battery which was under warranty out of my car and charged 230 to replace it without asking. Then they promptly disposed of the old battery so i could not get it back and get my free replacement. Any mechanic who knows anything at all knows a 2 year old car battery is ALWAYS replaceable for free. Also, ahem, someone please justify to me charging someone 40 dollars labour on a battery replacement which would take any layman with no experience less than 10 minutes to do at home. Truly pathetic service, obvious price gouging, and overall a terrible place for service. Save your money and take your vehicle to someone trustworthy who employs legitimate mechanics instead of low rate labourers who just graduated from oil changing college. Will never go here or to any midas ever again. Tell your friends, these chumps are incompetent.

Awful customer service. Had my vehicle inspected there and they found some faults with my vehicle and gave me the orange tag. I called around to get the required body work done and found out that I was unable to get the work done before my orange tag expired. They told me I COULD (not must or should) get an extension on my orange sticker, but since I was going on vacation and whatnot decided to let my car sit until I was able to get / afford an appointment. Today I got the car back from the body shop and took it back to Midas for the approval sticker (the body was the last failed thing needing repair) they told me that I would need to pay and have another full inspection done because it was "over two weeks" that I had gotten my inspection sticker. Instead of apologizing for failing to tell me that I NEEDED to get an extension and getting my car inspected they say that they can't help me cause they are closed. Now I am left taking my car somewhere else to have another inspection done today so that I can use the car I just sank $2,200 into and my spouse and I can get to work. Avoid this place at all costs.

They are always so friendly and make every experience as positive as possible. Great knowledgable staff. Ever since the car dealership cost me hundreds of dollars only to end up still left with the issue. I was at a loss and thought what the hell and took my vehicle to them. They were able to diagnose the problem within 15 minutes. I was overjoyed that they found it and they were able to get me in for repair that same week. Also when they say you're appointment is at a certain time you can be sure it will be within 15 minutes of said time, every time. the people here give you that tight community feel and go above and beyond even the midas standard.

The front counter agent who answered the phone was not only polite, he helped me find a part that was very hard to find locally. He also saved me 2 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive from the states. They definitely gained me as a customer in the future. He went out of his way to call around and help me find the part. Every other garage I went to for this part saw me as prey and tried to scam me.

Horrible customer service, went in for an initial complaint of a noise in the back, they didn’t even look at it went straight to my engine/ wheel bearings and fixed one wheel bearing for 300$. Told the girl on the phone to fix what needed to be done and that’s all they did. Drove it off the lot on Friday evening and the noise was still there, let it be until today( did not drive it) brought it in around 8:30 for my tire appointment, was never told a time for my appointment and then was told it was at 8am and the girl tried to argue with me and tell me she told me 8am, I’ve never been given a time I just always have dropped it off between 8-9 and leave it there all day. And complained about the initial noise complaint never being fixed. They then tried to blame someone in my family who never spoke to them on Thursday or Friday about it and said they told them not to complete anymore service on my car which was not true the only person they spoke to was me. I was never told what the noise was or how it could be fixed. I left and was talking to my dad and he then decided to go in and get my keys because this was outrageous. He went inside and the lady in there was so rude and told him to “ watch it” after he told them this was all outrageous. This type of customer service is so unacceptable I will NEVER take my car back and I highly suggest not to bring any cars there.

I went to Midas for an MVIas my regular shop is far away and couldn't get me in in time - they said I needed new rear bushings and tried to get me to pay them money to remove legal window tint. I had also asked them to check my fluids, they said my power steering was a bit low but nothing to worry about. I took my car to my regular shop for the repairs and they said that I did not need bushings, my car passed MVI with flying colours. What my regular shop did tell me though was that whoever did my last oil change did not replace my filter properly and that my car was leaking oil - they replaced 2L of it. Midas had done my last oil change - they could have wrecked my engine and then didn't bother to double check even when I brough the leak to their attention.

I recently had my tires balanced and I’m happy to say this is the smoothest the car has run on the highway since I’ve owned it (10 years).
