My mom bought her car here 6 years ago because it was vibrating when you turned and the airbag light was on, i forget how long the car was there but $600 later when the car was "ready", we drove it and it was literally the exact same when we bought it in, so we bought it to Driveline Shaft Center out in the goulds and they fixed it perfectly! THIS PLACE IS ROBBING PEOPLE! THEY'RE THIEVES!!

Seven hours to get tires on rims changed over, if they had to tell me I'd have gotten them done elsewhere. Great wheel alignment though !! Edit to add; i dont know how to respond to city tire on this, but i did email them, havent got a response. I had an appointment for 10am for both the tires and the wheel aligment, i got back into my car about 445/5pm, i had called at 2 to see if they had forgotten me and they said they were waiting for someone to "get around" to my tires as they were busy that day. But yes i did have an appointment.

I had pre booked my motorhome 2 weeks in advance for service. Routine maintenance, oil change, radiator flush, transmission oil change and rear differential oil change I picked the 8AM appointment on a Monday so it would be the first appointment for the week. I actually called a few days prior to bringing my vehicle in for service to confirm my appointment, to ensure they had enough time booked for the vehicle. Upon dropping it off I had even asked the service advisor if they had enough time slotted for the work. He assured me yes not a problem, before I even had a chance to say if you don't, just give me an oil change and a radiator flush as that is what I needed done the earliest. I dropped the vehicle off at 7:45 on my appointment date. I was encouraged to see that an employee was moving my vehicle for what I thought was my service appointment prior to me being picked up. At 2:20 PM I called City Tire to check on the status of my vehicle. The lady said the vehicle had not been serviced yet and it was the next vehicle to be put in the service bay. My wife returned home from work. I explained the above. At 4:45 PM she called City Tire and a male employee answered the phone. She was told that our vehicle was still in the "pound" at the rear of their building and it still had not been serviced. She was told that they would not be waiting around for her as they closed at 5PM. My wife told him to take the vehicle out of their "pound" and put it back on their lot and we would pick it up. We arrived at 5PM the place was in darkness however there were vehicles still being worked on in their service bays as the doors were open. We picked up our vehicle and left. This was my first experience with this repair shop as we have recently moved to this area. We were actually recommended to go there by a family member. I can assure you we will NEVER go back there for service. After owning my own business for several years it is "service" that can make or break your business. I can assure from our contact with this business there was NO service whatsoever, not even a simple phone call to confirm any issues with the customer. Never again!

If you ever need work done to your vehicle, you are not going to do better than coming here. We drove from Alberta had trouble with our motorhome in St. John's. Craig got us right in and the man went far above and beyond to help us out. All of the guys in the shop made an effort to make us feel welcome while we waited. Thought I was going to have a good experience but it turned out to be a waste of time. I called a day ahead and they told me to bring it in the next day. Me and my wife had to take time off work to drop it off, told them we are having transmission issues. Hoping we would at least get it looked at, I didn't receive a phone call. I called them at 2pm, they said it's the next one up, 3-3:30pm came and still didn't hear anything. Called them again at 3:45pm and asked what's going on and they told me again it's the next car. We only have one car so I had to tell them to put it outside for us. My wife ended up missing an appointment that evening as well. All I needed was a phone call to tell me that it won't get looked at today because they got backed up and I could have picked it up and she could have made her appointment. Instead of me panicking if the transmission was gone or not. Thanks for wasting our time.

I have a Roadtrek travel van and was in Newfoundland visiting from Ontario. I had developed a squeal under the hood and needed some help. They diagnosed it as the water pump and gave a quote right away. Since I was on the road they squeezed me into the day and had me back on the road the next morning. The bill was lower than expected and i was treated royally. I can't say enough about all of the friendly staff working to help me out. I came to Shane at 4 pm on a day before a big storm. He squeezed me in only to find out all my lug nuts we're swollen and I had the wrong size tires for my vehicle, he made it seem like it was no big deal, I have been to many garages and I have never felt such genuine customer service before. He put used winter tires on my car so I could get home safely and fit me in the next day to get the proper size tires put on. He told me when I was leaving that it was about me being safe to be on the road and I truly felt that from him and everyone at City Tire!! You guys were absolutely fantastic, I can't thank you enough as a young female it's not easy finding a garage you can trust. Highly recommend !!

Brought mt 2016 Maxima in to mount my new tires and do an wheel alignment. Pick up my vehicle later in the evening and detected vibration when traveling at 70 km / h. Brought the Car back in the next morning and reported the matter. Assured me that the problem would be looked after. On picking up the vehicle was informed that the balancing weight had fallen off. While driving home, had the same vibration like it was never even addressed. Will not be bring it back to them and waste my time. You would think an outfit like City Tire would have technicians who are able to balance a wheel . On looking at the new tires mounted, noticed that even the high side of the tires are not even mounted correctly. Either don't know how to install them correctly or could not be bothered.

Refused to pass a car on a basic 7 point inspection for multiple reasons that arent even part of the list. Told me the breaks were completely gone "steel on steel" and its simply not true and wouldnt pass it unless I let them do 800$+ worth of work to replace panels and rotors that have light surface rust. A second opinion confirms its not necessary. And to top it all of we asked to have an issue looked at under the hood due to a noise while driving however they didnt take the time to look and we have to get it inspected again before it's safe to drive.

Had a $20 flex pipe installed caused $450 dollars - thought they would be more reasonable than muffler shops. Never go there without a good mechanics name - some are great others are ripoffs. Like Canadian tire mechanics here get a % of the total sale.

I won't be returning to this location. I wasn't impressed by the work they done (which was opposite of what I specifically requested), nor was I impressed by the customer services and answer/lack of apology I was given. They said "I guess we made a mistake". They also damaged one of my chrome clad wheels but I guess that wasn't their fault and it was done before!? I'm bringing my vehicle to another garage to correct your error; I'd rather pay someone else then have you do it for free. Going forward maybe city tire and auto could dial back the attitude and listen to your customers, some of us do know what we're talking about when it comes to vehicles.

Detected a tire problem after getting dinner in Grand Falls and called City Tire up at CAA's recommendation. They were able to get my car in first thing in the morning and had a low profile tire that my car required. Very efficient. However, the staff seemed to be very annoyed when I presented my card to see if there was a discount. If you're going to use CAA to promote your business, then the price is dealing with its members and the association's applicable discounts. Despite the fact that I was very thankful to be headed on my way, the negative attitude unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth (I also overhead that he was annoyed that he had to let a pickup truck go due to not having their tires on hand, so I suppose my being a member just added to his annoyances that day).

Had new tires installed on factory aluminum rims( first change over on rims). Noticed a day or so later several grooves on all rims. When I when back to question, they basically had there backs up against the wall and denied they could have caused any damage, and basically said meet them in court. I consulted other tire professionals and was informed, damage is common if tire machine not calibrated. I have not pursued any claims as my spouses vehicle. Lesson: Take pictures before taking vehicle in for any service, may save thousands of dollars in damage. Don't trust the there smiles at the City Tire customer service counter! You have been warned!! Took awhile to post, damage occurred June/ 2020
