We're from Kingston and we got a flat tire last night at 10:00 on the 401. This morning, we woke up and due to the long weekend there were not a lot of places that could help us. Lots of places that wanted to sell us 4 tires despite our tires being pretty new and lots of places that didn't have stock. We have to leave Sunday so we were starting to worry. Went to Costco and got great service there as they couldn't get the tires in time so they told me to go to Kipling Tire. We did and they were unbelievable. We met Justin and explained what happened. He was more than happy to help us and in 20 MINUTES we had a replacement tire for only $40 and then we were on our way. I'm big on customer service and this was one of the best experiences I've ever had in that regard. If I lived here, I'd have a new go-to for any tire issues. Thanks to Justin and staff!!!

Two stars only because they got me out of a jam once when my tire pressure sensors started to alarm. I stored my tires for two season at Kipling Tire. After first season they refused to return my summer tires to my car (admittedly very low tread) for me to drive down the street to Costco where my new summer tires were waiting. They tried to sell me new tires, saying that Costco would not honour a warranty as they would. After an altercation with a manager they switched the tires and I got my new ones 15 mins later at Costco. The next year I called asking for a new quote for winter tires for my new car and to swap the old ones they had in store. The same manager said 'Oh yeah, I remember you.' derisivrky and promised to return a quote within three days. A week later, no quote. I called back. Same manager said again 'Oh yeah, I remember you.' and promised a quote the next day. Two weeks later, no quote and I bought my tires at Active Green + Ross Kipling. So. You can expect abuse and attempts at hard sell. Not recommended. UPDATE- I received a call from Kipling Tire a few months later, with an apology and a cheque for my previously stored tires. The apology seemed authentic and the cheque arrived swiftly, so when the time comes to look at tires again, I'll consider my options again. This doesn't happen every day, so I'm impressed.

Came here for the first time to drop my car off to get a patch for a leak/ flat tire. I came back a few hours later and they told me they couldn't find any leak but they refilled the tire. So I went home and sure enough 2 hours later my tire was flat again. I called them and they apologized greatly and told me to bring it back and they would get to the bottom of it. So I went back and they found the leak! Made me the first priority, patched the leak and they didn't charge me anything at all! Such great customer service I have to say. Mistakes happen but they owned it and then fixed it with no charge to myself and that is exactly what I would have done. That is exactly how customers should be treated. I will 100% be back in the future because of this. Highly recommend. 5 star PLUS

I have dealt with the guys at Kipling Tire for over 8 years now. This time around, unfortunately, my Michelin HydroEdge tires are no longer available. I opted for the Goodyear TripleTred AS tires. These fellows had the entire job done in 40 minutes. After a highway run to assure myself that the balance and alignment are correct, I was amazed at the performance of these tires. At sustained high speeds, not a bounce, drift or wiggle in the steering wheel. I highly recommend Kipling Tire for their outstanding service and staff.

Bought tires and rims from them in 2018. Called again this year to make an appointment to do the same since I have since switched cars and have been pushed off for over 2 weeks. I’ve spoken to multiple people including the owner Alex with promises to call back, confirm my quote and make an appointment with no avail. I understand this is time of year when they are extremely busy but to it’s one thing to be busy and it’s another thing to ignore customers (especially ones that just want to confirm and ultimately give you money). I will not be returning but hope they treat other customers with more respect.

Went to Canadian Tire first, they recommended replacing the tire as "it was not patchable". Which would mean 2 new tires. Went to Kipling Tire they said it was no big deal to patch it up, and that my tires are in excellent shape, so they saved me $400!! If I could give a 6th star I would!! Update Sept 9/19: Returned to these guys recently after being told somewhere else (went in for a quick oil change while north of the city) that my brake pads needed to be done and wanted me to have them done right away. I declined, knowing I'd rather take them to Kipling Tire for any major work. When I got to KT and they had a look, they told me my brake pads were just fine, completely safe and still at 70%! The other guys were just trying to make a buck, it seems. Seriously, don't waste your time going anywhere else. These guys are honest and do great work! Thanks again! Gave these guys a try having read the amazing reviews - will never go anywhere else now! They made me feel comfortable and confident, even as a woman who doesn't know tons about cars/engines. The best shop ever. This was my first time there after Costco declined to change the tire for my car. A person came to greet me as soon as I arrived at their parking spot and from there, everything went really fast. From giving me receipt for the service to changing the tire. It took hardly 15 mins. I really liked their motto which they wrote on the side board "be nice". I will recommend this shop to all.

I recently took my wife's Ford Edge in to have a leaky tire checked, after Thorncrest Ford told her the hole couldn't be patched and that we would have to purchase two new rear tires ($450). The guys at Kipling Tire patched the leak in 28 minutes (show up early) and it cost us $45. This is just one of many great experiences I've had at Kipling Tire over the past several years.

Toronto road potholes and low profile tires do NOT work well together. Called up Kipling tire to install a used tire I bought on Kijiji. Herv told me to come on in. Drove my mini to their shop. He took my keys and I left. I received a call from Herv a little while later to tell me that the tire I wanted to install was not safe. And in fact the 3 remaining tires were also not in great condition due to fractures in the tire. That’s the problem with low profile tires, all rim and no tire. He outlined my options and I informed him that I would convert my winter rims to my summer tires and therefore not be replacing the 4 low profile tires at almost $400 ea. He suggested two options for me and some $920.00 later I left with 4 new high performance Michelin tires. I was comforted by the fact they didn’t try to oversell me. In a nut shell I experienced knowledgeable, straightforward information and service. An efficient operation.

My wife went in for a leak in her tire. The guys at the counter were nice and told her it was busy and to come back in the afternoon when it is usually less busy. She did come back later in the day and sure enough they took her right away. They checked the tire out and found no leak and did not charge her for the inspection. Excellent customer service. The staff is very nice, but I am really ticked that they passed me on to Altech automotive for alignment and some check-up. Altech auto belongs to them as well, but it is run badly. Staff at Altech auto are rude, crass, and abrasive, especially the manager. They must be from another planet. Because of this, I would avoid Kipling Tire. I am not too happy.

Went in Friday morning without an appointment. Wanted to have two tires looked at for leaks and repair them. One tire was repairable, but other tire and its opposite side treads were too bare. So got 2 new tires. They took my car in right away and was done by the time I walked back from Tim Hortons. Super fast and great service. Even showed me that my wheels were badly in need of alignment due to rear tires wearing at an angle. Costco never bothered to tell me this when they rotated my tires, and neither did a body shop that I had to go to last year when someone rear ended me. 5 star service all around.

Today I phoned and was told Kipling Tire no longer does tire changes unless the tires have rims attached. Considering the hassle in everyone's mind and life surrounding PUTTING winter tires on and TAKING winters tires off, these guys have it down to a well-oiled SYSTEM that makes you feel good about choosing this place. If issues arise as they inspect your tires you get notified and have options before anything happens. Great team dyring covid as well (sit in your car, windows up... I just had a fantastic experience at Kipling Tire. I was a walk-in (because they don't take appointments for people who don't store their tires with them... fair enough) and it looked super busy. I was worried it was going to be a two hour wait... but no! It took them about 45 minutes. And I had JUST settled in at Dimpflmeier Bakery's cafe, which is two minutes down the street. Had to go there for fixing a small leak in tyre. Service was fast and problem was fixed neatly (perhaps as it's just been couple of days and really don't know if it's really fixed). But then had a small issue. The service guy at desk told me that it would be $30 + tax for the fix to which I said ok. After the tyre was fixed , the repair invoice was given to some other cashier on other counter and to my surprise he said its going to be $40+ tax. I was taken back and said that it was $30 + tax as the other cashier told me. Upon that he says yeah yeah i heard about that, so ok let's make it to $30. WHAT?? So if I wouldn't had said so he would had charged me 10 bucks extra for nothing. Not expected. Totally stupid and useless service. Apart of work itself, nothing professional. Would go there if ever needed but would record each and every line said.

Incredible efficiency! We pulled into one of like 5 or 6 garage bays they had. There were guys waiting with jacks when we pulled in. They immediately got to work. At the same time more teams of guys with jacks are working on all the other cars in the other bays. It was kind of like watching ants works, they were so industrious. Great service and fair prices. I came there with a set of used winter tires and asked them to install the tires. They inspected the tires and figured they were smaller than the manufacturer specifications by 1cm. They decided it would compromise my safety, refused to install the tires. Other shops would have just installed the tires. Also, they have a great waiting area with coffee and cookies. Expect a 2-3 hour wait (they are very popular) so bring a book!

Went there to fix an air leak on front passenger side tire. Asked to wait for 1.5 hours after which someone came and told they couldn’t find anything. 5 minutes later, a different person came and told they found a nail and that they patched it up properly and is good to go. Paid $30+tax. On my way back, I noticed a strange noise from the tire and took it back. One of them drove the car and concluded that the noise was coming from the speaker and totally disregarded what I had to say. 4 hours later, I noticed the tire pressure dropped significantly which means the actual problem was not even fixed and I paid money for no reason. Disappointed.

I like going local to see specialists for whatever it is I'm looking for. And when it comes to anything to do with tires, this is where I go. They're knowledgeable, quick and courteous. The regular service we have done here is changing tired for the season. They store tires for you but we don't bother because we have space. They're pretty efficient at what they do and the waiting experience is pretty decent. They have good hours so you can go whenever but they do tend to have a peak time seasonally you might want to avoid if you can. They're also quick when you need something (like a tire) and let you know when it arrives etc. I would say it appears well run and the service is really good.

Hard to recommend when they've failed me twice. When a screw punctured my year-old Blizzak WS-80's (that I purchased from Kipling Tire), I asked them to plug the tire AND patch the inside as it was recommended by some safety group. The service writer agreed, but when it was done he told me they only plugged it because the tires were near the end of their life. When I pointed out they had less than 5000km on them, the repair was suddenly free! I then noticed it was hard to seat the air hose bead when refilling the tires. Admittedly, I should've taken it in to get fixed earlier but didn't because my gauge said the PSi was fine. I forget why I had to return the second time (maybe it was another flat) but when I pointed out the tires being nearly bald after 2 seasons might be due to the wrong tire valve, suddenly the work that I was there for was free too. It's nice that they tried to mend their errors by comping the repairs, but I think I'm going to try another shop with my new winter tires this year...

I had installed my winters tires and had them balanced at 2 different places (2nd time around tires and Tires 23) and the car still continued to vibrate at high speed. Both of them said, I should get new tires (approximately $800) even though my tires had only had about 2 seasons on them. I needed this issue sorted out as we were driving to New Brunswick. I called up Kipling Tire and explained the problem. Justin and Jason said bring it and we'll take a look. They immediately put the car up and started balancing the tires. Within 15 mins, Jason called me in and showed me the back passenger tire was wobbling and he figured the steel rims was the cause. He put on new steel rims and the problem was solved. These guys know what they are doing! They run the shop very smooth with everyone being on point. Nov 27,2018: I have been going to Kipling Tire to service both cars. Just got a new set of michelin xice put on today. Justin and the team at extremely efficient and on point. They treat everyone like family and will make sure everyone is taken care of, regardless of how busy they get (especially during the winter tires season). If the place looks busy, be a little patient and Justin/Jason will definitely take care of you.

I had bought a pair of used tires from another shop, but I was getting horrible noise and shake (and I mean HORRIBLE) at all speeds. I had been told before that my rims were a bit warped, but I was sure there was a tire issue, so I wanted to try this shop to see what they thought. When I arrived at the shop, the mechanics inspected the tires and told me it was not the rim: I had "been sold completely out-of-round and no-good tires. Go get your money back." When other shady shops could've sold me a new rim, balancing, this and that, these guys were honest and sent me on my way with honest advice without paying a penny. I would definitely consider them in the future for any issues I need an honest answer for.

I got quoted a new tire for 110 and ended up buying a used one for just 50 (includes installation) Great guys they also patch tires for cheap as well. Very disappointed with service. Bought brand new winter tires from them in 2018, which they installed for me. Going back this year to switch from summer to winter tires again, I was told their “business model has changed” and they no longer change tired for customers - they’re too busy (?!). I explained the tires were originally bought from them just 1 year ago... but they still refused. I was then told if I buy rims for my leased car (which is obviously not possible) they could do the tires for me. Ha. Clearly the economy is too hot and they can’t be bothered with the winter tire business. I will definitely not be returning OR recommending them to anyone.

Very pleased. This is my second time getting tires from KT. I asked for a quote by email and got a response within 1 working day. After looking at quotes from other shops, I emailed KT to tell them I wanted to go with their quote, the tires where put aside for me (no deposit requested). No appointments here - you just show up. I brought in an unused pair of winter tires to sell, and the associate that I spoke with was inconsiderate and rude. He offered me $80 after I told him I don't know much about tires. I put them online, and within 2 hours I had multiple offers exceeding $300. It wasn't even the fact that they tried to undersell me... It was the salesman's demeanor as he did it. A wide, fairly tall dark haired man. Had no concern for me or my interests.

Despite the good reviews here they weren't able to balance my wheels. I had to go back the second day for a rebalance and was told they'll charge me if vibration is not due to balancing, after a long wait the car still vibrates, guys there were very unapologetically about the work or the wait...to avoid the hassle I went to another shop with Road Force balancing and the car has been smooth since. Save yourself some time and don't come here for wheel balancing.

Love this place - they're honest and hardworking. I've been going to them now for 3+ years and they've never disappointed. I called them last week about coming in after seeing a nail in my all season tire. They told me "we're so swamped until next week because of the snow and everyone is rushing to get their winter tires installed." A lot of places would take on too much, be too slow and then disappoint, but Kipling is honest and reliable. If they can do it, they'll tell you. If they can't, they'll tell you. Even though they did not have a hoist to accommodate the 23 foot RV they still managed to get the job done in a couple of hours during a busy period. Booked appointment for winter tire swap on a very cold day. After taking the car in they said couldn't do it cz there are no wheel lock bolts and they searched everywhere in the car. I trusted them and disappointed on myself for not providing the tool and returned back. But after reaching home I just lifted my tool box and the lock bolt was just underneath. Time, effort and disappointment would have saved with just 20 second of their proactiveness if done correctly.

After receiving horrible service from a 'green' competitor, I took a friends car there to have all seasons installed based on a friends recommendation and was assisted by Herb (really cool guy), I received amazing, timely and courteous service and more importantly excellent value/savings on the tires. They have a little restaurant/bar right beside the shop that you can have food/drinks at while you wait for your car. (One of the owners bought me a drink as I waited for the tires to be installed!) They said it would take an hour and half so I dropped off my car and walked ten minutes to the closest Tim Hortons so I could wait for it to be finished. When I came back after an hour and a half, nothing had been done and my car hadn't even been taken inside. I wasn't able to get the alignment done and had to come back home. I just wasted a bunch of time waiting around for nothing to be done, even though I made an appointment in advance.

I have been a customer for over 2 years. I purchased my all season, winter, along with tire changes, and can say that I will no longer be dealing with them. First of all price quoted over the phone was not honored. When I went in the employee behind the counter stated the woman that took the call did not know the correct price for a wheel change and therefore would not honour what I was quoted. OK, 10 dollar difference won't bankrupt me but now I know the cheap price they put on honour and customer loyalty. Now for the main issue. Wheels were changed, I pay get home later in the day and proceed to take my wheels out. First thing I notice when I grab the bag of the wheel stacked at the top is the face of the rim is facing down. Take the wheel out, proceed with the next one which was underneath the first and notice the face of the rim is - wait for it - facing up! The so called technician stacked the rims face to face. We're talking Borbet CC polished rims, guess what's going to happen, they scratch! To my amazement the next set were stacked properly?!? Is this some cruel joke, training day or judging by the lack of call back from a manager, business as usual. I have held off posting this review for a very reasonable time with no call back. Not surprised based on one of the last reviews. Considering I work close by to them I plan to visit in person. If I'm able to post an update to this review I will follow up with the outcome.

They told me no need for one, they will do it same day but there is 1 hour wait, as there are other customers ahead of me. Actually I was out the door and done in ONE HOUR !. I purchased all four new tires for my 03 Pontiac sunfire about 5 months ago. When I completed a purchase, Hrvoje from Kipling Tire told me that another service they offer when you buy and install tires at Kipling Tires is a free tire rotation and recommended this service every 3 months, at every oil change. I came to do the rotation two months ago 1/2 hour before they closed for the day, and I was turned down. I went to do the rotation today, first I was yelled at to move my car out of the front parking lot, and after that the same guy who yelled at me told me in a rude manner that I am to line up at 7am if I want any service, and that I should;;ve done this way before winter - ??????? if you are selling and recommending service at your garage to be done every three months, then don't tell me to do it before winter, because one of those three times will always be in the winter, as winter is about 6 months long in Canada!!! Kipling Tire, you were all so sweet when you wanted to sell me something but when you are suppose to service something you promised for free , then you are trying to get out of it. Very disappointing!

They charge $68 to swap out my winters <--> all seasons (all tires are on their own rims); TBH, I don't know if that's expensive, but it's better than me wrestling around my car trying to do it myself. Received (what I would call an excellent price) on my tires. Was offered the lounge to wait but instead chose the Tim Hortons down the road. 2-2.5 hours later the tires were on the truck and the old ones bagged and in the back seat. Excellent service, best prices. I have been to Kipling tire many times. First time a single front tire needed replacement due to a broken front ball joint on the way to work. Secondly, a change of older worn tires for my truck, after a flat I got heading up north. ( The flat was the last straw for the old tires ). The spare was replaced to its position, under the truck. All the work was quick and professional. I got back on my trip the same day. Just recently, my TPMS sensor light was coming on and flashing. I thought is was game over for one or more of my sensors. The Kipling Tire service person checked all sensors for pressure and battery life, inflated the tires correctly and did a reset of the TPMS light, free of charge. This was all done 10 minutes before they were going to close a 1 o'clock for New Years. A load off my mind. Thanks Guys at Kipling Tire.

The car we have has issues with the tire sensors and every time we change the tires the staff are patient and courteous in resetting them even if they are a pain! We reference them to others whenever we can!

KT took good care of me as a broke student, they're taking just as good care of me as an adult. They've done a great job adapting to Covid protocols. As others gave said, they direct you to a bay in the garage and get to work changing tires while you sit in your car with the windows up. The whole thing took less than half an hour, I'm impressed.

Took my tire to be fixed on Mon morning and the tire was back to the ground on Tue morning. When I took it to the dealer this time they said that "whoever fixed it, didn't do a thing - just filled with air". Thanks for the 40 bucks of air that I bought.

I used to haul scrap tires from London, to all around Hamilton surrounding areas and all around the GTA. There is absolutely no shop like Kipling Tire. King of the Hill hands down. I miss going there lol they had so many tires for recycling almost every single day.

This is the best tire store I have ever seen. Most importantly they do nor rip you off. The staff are real professionals. They knew their stuff and recommended the right product. A couple of months back one of my mechanics misled me into replacing the battery in my car. I visited Kipling Tire to get a second opinion. They checked the battery and circuit free of charge and let me know the state of affairs. I returned them the favour by going back to them to get my tires replaced. They did not give me that attitude in accommodating customers during winter when they get busy.

Visited to resolve a slow leak which turned out to be a small Crack in the alloy rim. They put on my spare sent the rim out for repair and re installed same day. Both visits quick no wait. Fair price less than expected. Because of Covid I stayed in the vehicle and watched. Very professional. Example second person checked wheel nut torque.

Great Service & Fair Prices! Customer's are cared for here! I just purchased my 2nd set of tires from Kipling Tire, and the experience was great! Their process from on-line quote, to booking the installation was effortless and I felt safe with all the COVID safety measures they had in place on site. I needed an alignment and they did their best to fit me in. Their manager saw I was working from my car that morning and offered me a room to isolate in. Thanks again Kipling Tire

I got the quote from the KT people for my E46M3 and i wasn't happy. I was walking away when the owner came after me and asked me to back and discuss. After 3 minutes I got a price that nobody can beat. I love my Micheline tires and I'm going back for my new set. Can't wait for the new Michelin 4s tires Highly recommended shop

I needed to take an old tire off of a good rim and put it on the rim of my spare and then replace it with a new one on my truck. They also rotated the wheels front to back. The price was reasonable and Alex the manager gave me a break on ballancing the spare after a miscommunication on my part. Staff are proffesional, helpful and courteous. I will go back for any of my future tire needs and will recommend them to friends and family.
