Got my car looked at because it had a pull to right clearly needing an alignment. But they said it was a ball joint and one of the break calipers. So I got the work done but the problem still isn't fixed. I still have to go back to someone else to deal with the issue. At least they were able to deal with an oil leak from the crankshaft seal, but they didn't solve the issue I originally went in for.

Worst experience. I bought my daughter a car, along with a bumper to bumper warranty. After a few months the transmission started to slip, I knew this as it was revving high and not shifting. We brought the vehicle in numerous times within the warranty period, they advised they were unable to diagnose the issue. I am NOT a mechanic but what was happening was pretty indicative of the transmission failing. After the warranty expired the car actually stalled, we had to have it towed to Motor City where they informed me the transmission was shot. This is unacceptable and I feel like we were completely "played". My advice...save your $ and go to a reputable mechanic.

This is a no-frills shop; the work is good but the scheduling is poor. My experience with the management was very bad, with almost no communication for a very big job (replacing an engine). It took three weeks, and the owner or manager called me only twice during that time, with the estimated time going from 3 days, to 5, to 7, to 10. I felt I had to pester him constantly for updates, and he seemed to be driving around daily. I never met him in person. I was given an 'appointment' for a follow up inspection. Apparently it was not a priority, because I dropped off my car only to be told they might get to it that day. The work was fairly priced and well done but I will not go back.

Totally incompetent. Buyer beware...they use refurbished, secondhand parts. Stay away from these guys. The worst by far. Who repairs vehicles using secondhand parts?

Do not bring your car here! Over charged me and told me my car was all good, I bring it to another shop and was told this shop over looked a serious issue was told my car was unsafe to even drive I'm lucky my damn wheel didn't fall off

I had a wonderful experience here. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I had my vehicle back in record time and they found the problem right away. Vehicle maintenance doesn't always have to be expensive and I'm glad they were able to get my vehicle back to me as soon as they did. THANK YOU GUYS ! Highly recommend

For the first time in my life I am writing review. I am writing this honest review so people should know if they choose to fix their car. I was ripped badly. One day my car got stall in my parkade. The reason for the stall was due to empty tank as my gas meter gauge was not working. So I went straight to motor mechanic to fix my car. After keeping my car with them for 4 days They said the car is fixed and charged me $1200. I was not happy at all when They said they replaced my meter gauge with an old one which has like 237000 mileage as mine got only 167000. After driving my car for few days the car stall again. I went there again to fix it and kept my car for two days.then after 2 days the car stall again. I was really angry this time but I kept it cool. So I phone them and told my problem but they were not interested to fix my car this time. I was so disappointed and went to burts automotive next to them in same street. At the end burts fixed my car and now it's still runs good. I am very disappointed with Motor city Mechanic.

Had Starter replaced car sounds worse than BEFORE. Now grinding when starting at times took it back they said they couldn't find anything wrong. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE

Staff seemed knowledgeable when i first dropped off my car. Took 3.5 weeks to get my car back from a head gasket repair, they ssid it would be a week and a half. They never replaced the thermostat coupling which was leaking coolant and they made my rad fan run all the time instead of finding a compatible one (which uses extra gas in a car with already poor mileage). Terrible communication and they kept giving my deadlines which would come and go with no word from them and then their quote for 2500$ ended up being 3100$ (apparently didn't include taxes and extra work they did without telling me).

Great auto service. We were looking around on Google for a car repair shop in Victoria and found Motor City Mechanics. They offered a free courtesy car while our transmission was being replaced was the main reason we chose them. Their rate was very fair also, we shopped 2 other local auto service stations to be sure! Definitely recommend Motor City Mechanics for auto repair.

Terrible service, terrible communication, my car has been there for more than a week with still no answers. I have been waiting for an answer for a new motor, and i have heard 2 conflicting stories, which makes me believe they do not have my best interest at heart. they were short, uninformative, and on some issues told me they aren't interested in helping.

Absolutely amazing service and kindness! My truck broke down on Canada day, every shop was closed. I was lucky enough to have the owner, Josh, answer the phone. He helped me get my truck towed to the shop. Turns out my motor was finished, Josh was completely willing to help, but also realized that my recently bought, very expensive truck, might be best handled by the dealship I bought it at. Very impressed by his honesty, the short time frame it took for the shop to diagnose my truck, and willingness to help in the matter. Highly recommend!
