Beware of all the fake 5star reviews people. Go to this place for most dishonest and Non dependable service in Vernon. I have been to Peters twice and both times they tried to shell extra money from me. I had to get my muffler fixed, after the job was done at checkout they told me I have no breaks in my car and I won’t be even able to drive more than 50km.I knew that was not true as some places try this on customers and I had got new pads not too long ago. But still to make sure I showed it to another mechanic who was fixing my air conditioner ,he told me the break pads were completely fine. Unfortunately I had to go to Peters again to get my wife’s cars out of province inspection as there are only a few places that can do it in town and my schedule was very busy. One would wonder what can go wrong in vehicles inspection. Report came out fine. They replaced my cars rear wiper telling my wife that it was not working properly. I was confused as I drive this car every day to Kamloops and never noticed it was not working properly because it was working good. Next day morning my rear wiper was not working and I went back to Peters to ask why is it not working as the vehicle inspection is passed and you replaced my wiper. The main guy there made all possible excuses to not take the responsibility and fix it.He agreed to look at it my wife dropped the car and he gave her a $500 repair estimate, according to the estimate the rear wiper motor system needed to be replaced+ labour.I told my friend about this who knows cars and told me just the fuse was blown.I got a fuse for $1 from Canadian tire and the wiper was working again. People if you do not want to be scammed, and HONESTLY love your vehicle and money you should stay away from this place. Even co-worker at my place who have been to this place only have horrific experience to share.

Horrible Experience! I called and asked how long it would take to change my tires and i was told about 1 hour. I then went in and asked the person working the front desk (a south asian gentlemen who said he was the manager) how long it would take and he said 1 hour, I went in at 2:15 and said I work at 4 on whyte ave so I should be okay right? He said oh yeah. So then i came back around 3:20 and my car wasnt done, and I asked why? he said i told you i would call you when its done. I said you told me one hour and why would i leave my car if i know i have to work at four, and he said i can do it for five oclock i said no i work at four thats too late i need my keys please. So then i called back and told him i was mad and he wasted my time, and then i said "f*ck you" and he said "yes you too" I am so mad and wasted my time.

I've never had such an incredible experience at any tire shop before. Let me start with my issue. I blew out my tire on a pothole during a snow storm between Revelstoke and golden. It was close to the closing time of Trail Tire and these guys had the tire in stock that I recently purchased for my vehicle. (Michelin X-Ice) which very few other places actually had. I tried to call a few and no one carried them. On top of that, these guys ended up staying almost an hour and a half after closing in order to make sure that I was taking care of. This is what I call exemplary customer service and a dedication to taking care of people. Both Bob and Oliver were incredible and I was extremely thankful to have had the opportunity to meet both these great people. I cannot say any greater words about this place and I'm really thankful that trail tire hires such wonderful people. They both absolutely deserve a raise after what they did for me. Incredible incredible experience. Thanks again to both of you! Looking forward to buying more tires from them!

The family and I were on our first post-Covid trip and the brakes on my truck started grinding late on a Friday night. On Saturday morning I searched for an open brake shop and found Trail Tires. Bob heard about my plight and even though he had jobs lined up he got my truck on the lift and assessed my situation - pads and rotors were needed all around. He then loaned me his own truck to pick my family up, gave us some tips on what to do in Revelstoke and by early afternoon we were back on the road! I can’t say enough nice things about the friendly and high-quality service we got from Bob and his crew - I’d recommend them to anyone.

The Thursday before Thanksgiving my sister and her husband came through on their way home to Alberta. They were having a light indicator show up but could not find what the real problem was. I called Cavelle and they were able to help. When my brother-in-law arrived at the station they met him there with the code finder, they were able to tell them what the issue was, and what to expect. This gave them peace of mind travelling back home, they made it, and have an appointment with their mechanic. We are very blessed and impressed with Cavelle services.

Norm, Landon and their staff at TireCraft Whyte Avenue, have been taking care of our vehicle for several years with excellent, friendly, highly competent, skilled labour and attention to detail. Norm and Landon are very knowledgeable regarding vehicles. We've had a wide gamut of auto repairs on our Nissan from replacement rims & tires, flats, replacement of springs, shocks and struts, sway bars, AC, electrical, tuneups, fixing squeaks. Update April 20, 2018 Norm, helped us out this spring with obtaining four very slightly used, all season Hankook Optimo H246 P215R60 R16 tires to replace my worn down, aging, sidewall cracked Goodyear summer tires, one which had two roofing nails embedded in the tread.

Finding a trustworthy and honest mechanic is quite a difficult task, especially in such a hotspot town like Revelstoke. Pat & the team at Excel Tires were an absolute dream. Pat was super friendly and helpful and walked us through everything we needed to know! When we called beforehand to see whether they have the tires we needed he gave us a full quote, explaining all costs and making sure we do not have any surprises. The quote and end price matched 100%! Before we went to Excel Tires we were given a $1500 quote for other reparations by a different mechanic, telling us it would be urgent to get these things fixed. When we brought in the car to get the tires, the team first of all checked whether all tires needed to be changed or whether some could be reused and then also checked on the other things that we got told needed fixing, informing us that 'yes there are minor issues but nothing that needed to be fixed straight away'. So, they not just gave us an incredible price on new tires but also saved us $1500 in 'unnecessary' reparations. We felt absolutely in safe hands here and would come back at any stage for any future maintenance! Can't recommend this place high enough for any of your car needs when in town!

Jay went above and beyond. Once I realized my tire was damaged while traveling to Calgary, Jay worked like a dog to find the same tires that were already on my car. While Jay could not provide the same make/tire he found a very respectable alternative and made sure they were shipped to Revelstoke ASAP. Within 24 hours we were back on the highway. Not only did Jay get me tires, he listed all the places in town that would take dogs, and offered to store our perishables in his fridge/freezer until we were back on the road. Everyone at Excel from Jay, to Brad, and Jeremy was excellent. It is great to be treated like a long time customer. Thanks Jay!

Requested one type of oil, and they used another. Edit: Changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars because the owner just called and offered to make things right. To be clear, I asked for Motul X-Cess 5w40 and they used either Motul X-Clean 5w30 or 5w40 (i can't remember) which my regular shop said was fine... but it still wasn't what i'd asked for. While that would normally be enough for me to avoid a shop for future oil changes, the fact that they did still use the oil brand I requested with a similarly suitable rating, and called to make things right by offering me another oil change with the correct oil, I'd say that's some above average customer service that deserves a 2nd chance.

SHORT STORY: Told us we it would be $1000's of dollars for all new tires and brakes when we brought the car in for a simple flat tire - when we took it to a different shop it was confirmed our brakes and tires are in perfectly good shape, minus the flat. Very bad business practices. Long story: We have been long time customers of this Fountain Tire because it was close to where we lived and my husband’s work had an account with Fountain Tire. However, Fountain Tire has removed this shop as a franchise due to their terrible business practices. We were not aware of this going into the shop, as at the time there were no Tire Craft signs anywhere and absolutely no indication that the shop had changed. We hit one of the ubiquitous potholes in the city, and got a flat tire on our '07 Civic. Upon taking it in to this location, we were told that flats from potholes were not covered by even though we had a tire warranty. When they finally looked at the car, they told us we needed all four tires replaced. At first, the guy said it was because they were worn out, but when my husband questioned this, as we've only put 40,000km on them, he said that there was in fact 50% tread left but all the rims were damaged (I only hit the pothole once, with one wheel. Not all four). I then called a different Fountain Tire and asked about their Road Hazard Warranty for tires and was told it indeed did cover potholes, though was a prorated warranty. When we told this to the Whyte ave location, he said "No, that's like a Mercedes hitting a meridian." (?????) (Note they still did not tell us this location was NOT A FOUNTAIN TIRE). IN ADDITION to all this, they also told us our brakes were completely shot, and needed $1000 worth of work including calipers. We took our car in to get the brakes checked barely 6 months ago (to a different company) and were told we had lots of wear left on them. When we told them we were going to take our car elsewhere, they told us we had to pay for a wheel alignment (I don’t know why they would have done an alignment when they wanted to put all new tires on the car!). It was at this point we finally found out that they were not, in fact, a Fountain Tire at all, but a Tire Craft. They are trying to scam all the customers that assume this location is still a Fountain Tire. This location puts a bad name on mechanic shops everywhere, because it reinforces the idea that they're all out to get as much money from you as they can. UPDATE: We took our car to an ACTUAL Fountain Tire (on 96th St and 111 Ave) and got the tire replaced under the prorated warranty, they said the other tires were in near perfect condition, and it would be at least another year or so before our brakes would need any work at all.

Tire shops can be really different in how they handle appointments and drop ins. Especially during the peak times of the year. Some other shops won't take appointments and make you wait. I sat at a different tire shop for 4 and a half hours just to get my summer and winter tires switched. Peters Tirecraft is more respectful of their customers time which is why I do all my business here now.

I can't express how thankful I am for the great service I receive at Peter's Tirecraft. Matt, Greg, Mick & the rest of the crew are fantastic to deal with, and took care of my car as well as anyone could. My older Lexus was having some rust issues when it came time to do the alignment. The crew there helped me find parts, stored my car for over a week while the parts came in, and installed them, all at a very fair price. I really felt well looked after by professionals. DANGER DANGER DANGER!!!!!! I got my tire rod ends replaced and an alignment here, after driving away my alignment was the exact same. when i took it back the guy said it was factory specs and dodge engineers the car to pull to the right in case i fall asleep so i don't drift into oncoming traffic. after going home and jacking up my front end i noticed the tierod end sleeves were loose and turning in the threads instead of the tierod ends(this would of stripped them and failed if i didnt notice). when i called them to let them know the manager told me that was normal and caused by worn ball joints (i cant believe what these guys are telling me at this point) and they would fix them for under 900 dollers. I tighten them down and moved on. 2 months later im changing a tire and my wheel lugs where on so tight i bend my tire iron taking them off and i noticed both my outer boots were already torn in less then 2000km.. DON'T TRUST. THERE MECHANICS OR SALES PEOPLE THEY WILL TURN YOUR VEHICLE INTO A DANGEROUS MACHINE!!!!!!. DANGER DANGER DANGER!!!!!!!

My car has been squealing for years, I have taken it in three times to various mechanics and no one had been able to stop it until Cavell! The noise would only stop temporarily but always return. Cavell replaced the timing belt quickly and at a super reasonable price, I can't believe I didn't get them to fix the noise sooner. It has been in great shape for months now! I have used Cavell for years with my tires and will be using them from now on with mechanical issues also.

First off, If you want quick tire service, This they can do. If you Ask them to check the wiring on your trailer, this they cannot do. I brought my cargo trailer in to have the brakes checked out and a tire replace. When I returned to pick the trailer up, I found the trailer on two 6x6 blocks stacked with jack fully extended, Some items that had been neatly stacked were strewn about the interior and brakes still did not work. When inquired inside, the response was "It's your brake controller" Classic first response. I was too angry to even confront the staff at the time. Being a trades person (electrician), I believe in supporting other trades and local business. This was a very unprofessional, unethical and confrontational experience. The photo is how I found the wiring, something I had indicated at the time was a concern. I have since repaired the wiring and brakes now operate as they should. (wiring would have tested okay until under load) Something an experienced tech should have picked up on. I believe I was charged 1.5 hours to diagnose. I re and re in 1.5 hours. and probably with better material and defiantly higher quality job. And you blamed my factory brake controller.... Thank you for your response. Yes this is the same trailer. 1) this is a single axel commercial cargo trailer used on occasion for personal use. Until recently, other than the lack of braking power, there had not been any issues. Recently, I went on a trip through a rain storm and a problem presented itself dramatically. 2) When I brought the trailer in, I specified that the brakes were working but not at 100 percent. I was concerned there was a wiring issue. I was supper overworked at the time and had brought it to the professionals to 3) I regret I had not taken a picture prior to snipping off connectors, but this is how I found the JB (originally not your work but this is where the electrical problem originated), the connectors were the insulation cut and clamp style. not suitable for wet location and no cover on the JB. The lead for the actual brakes was corroded. Due to the condition of the existing JB and associated wiring, it was more prudent to re do the whole arrangement the to just do a quick fix. 4) When paying, I what the issue was, and was told everything was in good working order. Yes all the wiring did work, the brakes would have worked too, but due to the corrosion they would not have worked well. It would have appeared that a slamming brake test would have been done given the condition of the contents of the trailer. The real issue was and is; a) The condition of the contents b) The trailer being on two 6x6 blocks stacked with jack fully extended. (what truck would you have used and why was it left this way?) I had to knock it off the blocks by myself, A bearded gentleman came out to collect the blocks after. Oh and it is a low riding 12' trailer. c) I came in and said to the young guy at the counter that the brakes were still not working properly. This is when he said that it was my brake controller. A matter a fact statement. d) Like I indicated, at the time I was dually over worked and didn't have the time to deal with someone that just didn't understand, have the experience to solve the problem or the ability to communicate. Addressing this clearly would have cost me time and money. Things I cherish. My truck is more than capable of stopping a 12' single axel trailer. Had the rain and vibrations of the gravel road not further deteriorated the wiring, This review would never had been done. I Believe May 27 2020 seems to ring a bell.

These guys have earned a bad reputation for charging customers for mistakes made on the shop floor. Until I hear a reasonable explanation why a simple flat fix resulted in three days of runaround and a three and a half hour service charge at full shop time for a mistake made by the mechanic, I would suggest taking your vehicle to an honest shop.

These guys are the best! I hit a snow bank before getting to town, and had been towed out but my car wasn't driving straight. I called everyone in town and no one could help until I asked these guys. They took me in right away, checked the damage and found that the tow truck caused the damage! They didn't stop there...they tracked down the driver for me and were able to negotiate with him to pay for my broken parts.

I arrived at 720 AM and the doors were open. Staff was ready and helped me as soon as I walked in. Arrived from out of town and needed to get tires promptly, I mean quick. The Asst. Manager went out of his way ran to the supplier across town and picked the “uncommon” tires up for me and I was out by 840. Stellar service and probably saved my marriage. ;)

My truck has needed several repairs since I bought it. It was making a terrible noise so I brought it to Trail Tire. They told me what they thought it was gave me price. I went ahead with the repair and they told me they got the diagnoses wrong and the fix was considerably cheaper than originally priced. Other mechanics might have completed the cheaper repair and ran off with the extra money. I appreciate their honesty and integrity. I have and will recommend them to my friends and family.

I have purchased tires here many times in the past for multiple vehicles and had not had an issue until unpleasntly meeting the owner of the shop recently (older male, white hair and glasses). After this dreadful experience I can say for sure the place is absolutely run by the biggest rudest most inconsiderate man I've ever met. I wouldn't go here for tires if my life depended on it now. The owner of this shop needs to learn how to conduct customer service properly as well how to talk to other people. Being a self centered overreative baby is not how you should be conducting yourself around others sir. Don't give this particular shop the time of day. The owner doesn't deserve any customers with the way he treats people in general.

I brought 2011 Volvo S60 T6 to Tirecraft after I hit a pothole and had a flat. I replaced all 4 tires on my vehicle. My car has tire pressure monitoring system so the vehicle tells you when any tire is low on air. While changing the tires, tirecraft damaged one of my sensors on my rear tire. If your vehicle is older it should be fine to rbing your vehicle here. If it has the tire pressure monitoring system, do not bring it here or you risk damaging your sensors.

Do not go to these guys! Not only did they not fix my tire leak. But they left the nail in the tire. Did not replace the valve cover. I managed to get the car to the gas station, put air in the tire and then for some reason my tire begin to squeak every time I drove it. Amazing service! I was in a rush out of town and had a strange noise when braking. I went in at the end of the day and they had found a rock in my brake rotor. Less than 5 years ago, I brought my car in for a flat repair. They told me they would fix the flat, no problem. Then I made the mistake of mentioning that I was 'considering' getting new tires. They gave me some options, and I took some time to research the tires. By the time I phoned back, the tone had changed completely: I was told there was 'no way for me to get back on the road', that the tire could not be repaired. I literally felt that my car was being held hostage. So I ended up getting 4 new tires 'of the highest quality', ones I was told 'everyone were very satisfied with' (Quatrac 3). Well, I just replaced those 4 'tires of the highest quality' after just 42,000 km, driving primarily in the city. Interestingly, I am staring at the bill from 4 years ago, and I am surprised to see that I paid a few hundred dollars more then (in early 2014) compared to the tires I purchased today from a reputable competitor. Obviously, I will be writing a review for the reputable competitor when I have to replace my new tires. Maybe their 'highest quality' tires will not last much longer than the Quatrac, maybe manufacturers' tire life ratings are completely inflated - no pun intended. Still, looking back on the whole experience from 2014, I did not even consider TireCraft when came the time to get my new tires this year.

Update: they filled the pothole but still havent helped me fix my car. And fyi you cant say i was going fast when your camera isnt a speed cam. Fix my car and ill take this down. Or atleast help me. Im not an idiot. Its simple. The pothole messed up my car..help me..or this will remain. I havent been inside the business but i parked on their lot and when i was exiting the lot i hit the huge pot hole and messed up my entire front bumper. My fog light was barely hanging on. I called them to find out what they could do and they basically told me its not their problem. Fix your parking lot. I see that pothole as a cash cow. I will be in contact with the city about it. Thats a huge issue. Its so big that even if you try and miss it youll most likely still hit it when exiting your lot. The owner said the pothole is going to be worked on and fixed and that i was going to fast in the camera. But i have a witness that was with me that says otherwise. I guess if you co sider under 5kms/hr fast....And besides the fact there is no warning of the pothole and nearly impossible to miss. And he also twisted my words and said... i said this but now im saying this..thats how this company is conducting business. Shut er down. Dont do business with this company they have a lot of bad reviews below. Ill definitely never get work done on my car here. If thats how they treat possible consumers...

Had a tube fail on me about a month back on a truck I just bought. The tires were bald anyways and I needed to get home so I stopped by excel for a set of 4 tires for the dually rear axle on the truck. They were pretty quick in getting them on thankfully as I had to get back on the road. The owner who i talked to at first was nice and helpful, but when I was sent to the "truck shop" to get the tires fitted, the attendant was quite brash and rude (looked like he was over worked and understaffed) Less than a month later I had another tube go flat(different tube) and when I took it into another shop I was told there was a small bit of metal inside the tire that rubbed and caused the flat. As well I was told the tubes they put into the rims were the wrong tubes and that's why I've had so much trouble getting access to the stem on the inside tire and why as soon as I got a partial flat the tube spun inside the tire. The real kicker to this mess was that the tires I bought under there recommendation are to wide, and under full load (that I openly disclosed to them when shopping for the tires) they flex out enough to rub and should have been one size thinner. As it stands now I'm going to have to replace a set of tires I've hardly used or else I'm going to completely destroy them under a full load, so not happy about my experience here at all.

Passing through on the way home to Calgary. Just before reaching Revelstoke the engine light went off. We still had a long way to go and I was worried about what was going on. Checked all the fluids and they were okay. Folks at the local parts store suggested stopping in at the Excel Tire shop. They had me pull right up, connected to my van and ran some diagnostics. We stopped in Revelstoke while heading West from Ontario because our exhaust system had a huge and noisy hole in it. Really noisy. It sounded like we were flying in an old crop duster. Bob at the front desk phoned everyone in town for us to see if someone could get us on a hoist sooner than Excel - but they all had multiple day waits. Bob managed to squeeze us into the shop in only a few hours. The exhaust technician Pierre was able to cobble together a patch job for the busted pipe (nobody in town could get a replacement part without a few days wait) in the last hour before the shop closed, and we were able to get on the road again without needing ear protection! We were only charge for the hour's labour and it felt like we had a new car! We made it to Vancouver with no other problems, and now we have time to shop around to get a complete fix without getting pulled over for noise pollution! Thank you so much for your great service!

Brought our truck in to have brand new tires put on the rims on the truck. The guys decided to rotate clearly rotten tires. (Really badly cracked) My question is why did the tire pro's rotate clearly bad tires when there was a set of brand new tires in the bed of the truck? The owner (I am assuming from reading the reviews) was apologetic and accepted fault for it, even though he personally didn't see the tires. He said he wrote it down wrong. We would return again even though this happened as the issue is being rectified.

After sicamous on the highway 1 I blew a tire. Fortunately I had a run flat on my BMW. As soon as I got to Revy I called the shop and was pleased to talk to I believe his name was Jon. Within an hour I was back on the road and made it to calgary before midnight. Without the fast action of this shop I would have had my trip delayed at least a day. They even educated me on my remaining tires and how to assess the tread. GO TO THESE GUYS! THEY CARE!

This place doesn’t deserve any stars, I asked for a hose change in my truck. The manager called me and wanted more work done, he was rude when talking to me about explaining what’s wrong with my vehicle. I just paid to get it towed there and he wanted me to get it towed else where because he refused to work on my truck. I am 9 month pregnant and can go in any day now, I needed my vehicle done. He just added to the stress.

They could not fix the problem, and in addition, they broke the panel buttons...The car was brought there with one issue, and we left this shop with more issue. We were fine that these guys were not able to fix the car and paid for their time, but didnt expect they returned our car with more issues and not taking responsibility for it! Very sad!!! Never come to these guys!

Many thanks to Bob and the staff at Excel Tire. They recently went the extra mile to help us get back on the road. In our motorhome, we had run over a rock in a rock-slide near Revelstoke. One of the back tires was damaged. Bob sprang into action and ordered a replacement wheel in Alberta and a tire from Kelowna. Concerned about our safety, he suggested we not drive the motorhome ( it has dual rear tires – only one was damaged. ) He said that we could “camp” in the parking lot at Excel Tire while we wait for the wheel and the tire to arrive. He showed us where we could fill with water and offered to let us use their power. Additionally he suggested places to visit and things to do which we really appreciated, especially the fitness center where we could work-out and shower. We also enjoyed a historical walking tour of downtown Revelstoke given by the museum across the street from Excel Tire given by Cathy English ( she is fantastic). After a couple days the wheel and the tire arrived, the guys quickly installed them and we were on our way with lots of great memories. THANKS BOB. Super service and first-class campground!

We brought our Nissan Murano in for a oil change, After it was done some time had passed and we started to notice a oil patch forming in our driveway. At first we thought it was my old Chevy Truck parked in the driveway. We quickly figured out it was the Murano. We brought it back to Cavel Tire. Through their own admission they found out the dip stick was not returned all the way into the tube and because of the back preasure created by this particular model it forces the oil out the top. They graciously refilled the oil then cleaned the bottom of the car. A month later the alternator packed it in. The Service Teck at Nissan returned from the service area carrying the alternator , turned it sideways and poured a lg quantity of oil out of it. He said it was probably the oil that caused the failure and that we should go to Cavel for compensation. Cavel refused to compensate us siting the time lapse between when we noticed the issue and when we reported it to them and also the possibility that we had pulled the dip stick out and not returned it... Wrong! We acted in good faith and proceeded when we had sufficient information. THey should have compensated us. I honestly don't know how I could recommend a place that doesn't back their service work. To bad, for this they missed the mark completely. What do they say ? if you have a bad experience you tell 10-15 people...

On Saturday July 4th I took my Jeep in for a free tire rotation as this is where I purchased the tires . When I went back to pick it up I was told the rear seal was leaking and they could fix it right away so I agreed. The cost was $265.00 to fix the seal. When I went back to pick up my Jeep i got one block from the shop when my dash started lighting up with warnings for my Abs, traction control and my 4 wheel drive.Went back to the shop and was told the guy must of broken the speed sensor they would fix it at there cost. Monday comes and now it’s the tone sensor so the whole hub assembly had to be replaced $465.00 . My Jeep was working great with no sign of a leak but was told better to get it fixed before it blows never will I go to this shop for anything again.

The people at Peters Tirecraft were able to see us almost straight away, even though it was during the busy Christmas period. I called the Kingsway location last week to make arrangements for a wheel alignment and oil change. I was told no appointment needed, I could drop off the vehicle Sunday evening and throw the keys in the slot. They called me when my car was done this morning and I was pleased at how fast it was done. I asked what the mechanic had found in regards to the wheel alignment. I was told he didn’t have that information as he’s not a mechanic and I would have to wait to read the invoice when I picked up the vehicle. He then told me next time don’t park in front of their bay doors because it’s a real inconvenience to them. There were no signs asking me not to park there and I wasn’t told when I originally called. When I asked for the price, it seemed a bit high so I asked him to break it down. He then told me that when they did the oil change they also changed the air filter. I told him that I didn’t authorize that and I could’ve done it myself. He then tells me sarcastically “well why didn’t you do that before you brought it in? We do that for everybody when we see it’s dirty.” Unauthorized charges, really bad attitude, this was a very unpleasant experience. I do NOT recommend this location for service.

I hesitated to write a poor review but I am just floored right now. In the fall of 2020, I brought my vehicle in for a simple oil change and a check engine light diagnostic. After a few hours in the shop, I received a telephone call stating I needed new brakes and new tires. I have a regular mechanic so told the gentleman I would be booking with them. He was insistent that at the very least I needed a wheel alignment (that it would be dangerous to drive my vehicle without) and coolant service. So I agreed to that. When I picked up my vehicle, my glove box was open and the cover to my cabin air filter compartment was sitting on my seat. I went back in and asked them what that was about. They told me they had replaced the filter but apparently forgot to put the cap back on. I did not ask for this to be done. I put the cap back on myself and left. This whole trip cost me over $500.00. When I took my vehicle to my regular mechanic 2 weeks later for new tires and brakes, they told me there was absolutely no way an alignment had been done. I trust them and have been going to them for years. They gave me an alignment free of charge because they felt badly for me having already paid for one I did not receive. This is the only reason I did not contact this shop and demand a refund. Fast forward to today. I went to change my cabin air filter, as I annually do, AND THERE WAS NO FILTER. Not only did they not change my filter, they took my old one out and did not replace it. So I have been driving around for a year with unfiltered air. I am beyond livid. If my experience is any indication of their trustworthiness, STEER CLEAR of this shop.

My dad took my mazda 3 to this location a couple weeks ago for a front end alignment and they told us it needed a new front right ball joint and then a couple days later my car wouldnt start because relay was loose and while he was checking that he found a lose fuse and then then next day i was going to drive it to work and my engine light was on so i took it back home for my dad to look at it to find the the lock on one of the vacuum lines was unlocked and half off all of which was fine before it went into tirecraft so i highly do not recommend going there. And to top it all off we took it in to get the ball joint they said i needed fixed and it was perfectly fine and only needed a front end alignment.

We have been bringing our vehicles to Trail Tire on Kingsway for close to three years now. The staff is friendly, honest and the prices seem fair to me. Recently, our 09 Vibe has had serious issues. Trail replaced a defective part, which did not solve the problem. We have returned the car to them on 4 occasions since then and they have been replacing other parts and putting in their time - at no cost to us. This is old school service and it is a very rare thing these days. Good work to Rick, Mike and the team.

In November I was going on a road trip to Saskatchewan and had booked a non-refundable hotel room for that night. When I noticed a tire was low I went to Kal Tire to get the pressures checked. I had bought new tires there in July for about $1000.00. They checked the pressures and one had no air! A visual inspection showed a screw. I went inside and explained my problem. They said they were all booked up but they might be able to fix it by 6pm if I could leave my car. Otherwise I could drive up the street and see if anyone could get me in. My first stop was Cavell Tire. They said they very busy and had just filled all their bays, but if I wanted to wait they would get me in as soon as a bay came open, which would be about an hour. I waited, and was on my way in less than an hour!! Please note that I had never been in their store before!! I have been back since, and am booked again for Monday. Service so far has been prompt and excellent. I will probably go there for all my needs.

On July 4/2020 we took the wife’s Jeep in for a tire rotation, which is pretty standard procedure. When we returned to pick up the Jeep the manager Marty informed us that a rear seal was leaking. At this point he said it could be fixed that day so we agreed for the work to be done. I did not ask to see the said leaking but instead trusted him that this was the case. Keep in mind I had been dealing with this Tire craft for awhile and had never been mislead by Landon the employee who took care of us in the past. When we returned to pick up the Jeep, it was driven for a block and the abs light came on, the traction control light came on and the 4x4 indicator light also came on (which was never on before we took it in to indicate a problem). It was immediately put on the hoist for Marty to look at, he had told us that the mechanic had broke the speed sensor and that it would be fixed at their cost. It is now Monday and after I called and spoke to Norm the owner he told me that the speed sensor part was not available but could weld the old one in place so that it would work the mechanic only broke the plastic clip that holds it in place. Then he said I will call you back. Norm then called back and said it was the tone sensor that was damaged. At this point the mechanic said the part was only available out of the US and It would be 5 to 7 days to get the part. The mechanic said that we could take the vehicle and that it would be okay to drive and we could bring it back to be fixed when they received the part but Marty the Manager had said it was unsafe to drive and could cause further damage as the vehicle would be trying to go into limp mode. Then after another phone call the mechanic found the part in Red Deer through Derrick Dodge and that it would arrive to them on Wednesday morning, I said great news. At this point I was informed that I would be charged for the part and 1.6 hours for the labor. After talking to Norm about this he only offered to charge for an hour labor but that’s it. They claim that the mechanic did not break the hub when the tire rotation and seal work was done. Remember that everything on this Jeep worked fine before it went in for the tire rotation. I believe that the mechanic broke the tone sensor when putting everything back together after fixing the seal. This lead to another $465 dollar bill that they said just broke but worked fine before it went into the Tire Craft on Whyte Ave shop. Trust is a big part of the business unless you are a mechanic and can look at things right away. I would not trust Tire Craft on Whyte Ave for what the claim to say is wrong with your vehicle. They give conflicting stories between the manager and mechanic in reference to safety of a vehicle. So tire rotation was free. Seal replacement was $265.00 The hub replacement that I believe they broke cost $465 I will never go back or recommend them.

These are my go-to guys for sure. Once out of dealership warranty, I gave up paying dealership pricing. Found these guys go the extra mile to make sure I'm covered. They saved old parts to show me the wear and always squeeze me in even when busy. Little local shop that caught MAJOR issues that my dealership overlooked (like safety brake issues!). They'll top up the fluids for free, try getting THAT at a big shop nowadays! Busy shop, hardworking guys. Prices on par. Love these guys!

Be careful with warranty work, they will charge you for any work that should be covered under warranty. I've had a vehicle come back to get an inspection under warranty, then they sent me a bill saying it wasn't covered under warranty when no work was done. I had another vehicle have the hinges replaced on the door which should've been covered under a life time warranty as I was sold it that way, they then sent me a bill for over $700 and its still broken in the end. Used to work with Landon all the time and he was amazing but since they've had new ownership and the customer service has gone south.

These guys were amazing! I hit a rock on Highway 1 on my way home to Edmonton and needed a new rim. My car needs a specific type of rim and they were able to track one down for me from Chilliwack. They had it shipped up to the shop and it arrived the next morning. Bob even drove myself and my kids to the hotel where we ended up needing to stay for the night and was able to calm my nerves and put me at ease. I was on the road the next day thanks to them and I was so impressed with their friendliness and great service. Would definitely recommend them!

Went to tire craft a month ago for a wheel alignment, it was difficult to feel you were getting reliable work because of the customer service. I had the case where I needed a new wheel bearing, and requested for an alignment because I thought that is what I needed. I didn't need an alignment but in this case the work was done without my acknowledgement. Cool looking building but that's about it.

We were so lucky to stumble upon this shop after we had a drive shaft failure outside of revelstoke on the way to Kelowna. They were packing up to go home on Saturday night and stayed late (after close) to check out our SUV and diagnose. We arranged to have the part brought in from kelowna and they came in for 4 hours on a Sunday to repair so we could get on our way. All along they gave recommendations for what to do in revelstoke and where to stay. I am so grateful! Their bill was so reasonable - only charging for 4 hours on Sunday and none of the diagnostic time and parts ordering on Saturday. Would highly recommend!

Although they were busy when I was there, they managed to fit me in to repair my tire ( and sooner than I thought)and for a very reasonable price. They put the spare back under my vehicle, and shined up all my tires after putting the fixed one back on for me. Landon was very courteous, polite and respectful. He was dealing with and elderly gentleman ahead of me, who spoke limited English. He was kind and very patient with him, when it must have been quite frustrating trying to communicate with the man. On our family trip to Kelowna from Calgary our 2013 Dodger Journey's alternator failed and we barely made it to Revelstoke. Excel tire was able to get the car in right away and we were back on the road within 5 hours. The manager Jeremy was very friendly and professional and provided lots of information over the phone as well as in person. The parts, labour and overall price were fair. Based on our experience we would highly recommend this shop.

My sister came to Tirecraft Edmonton on Whyte Ave for a simple tire change. When she came to pick up her car, she had been changed a ridiculous $317 for this simple service. She is a 20 year old university student who was completely and utterly exploited by this business. The manager treated her with the utmost disrespect and she left the business in tears. What automotive centre charges nearly $80.00 per tire to change over summers tires to winter tires?!?! Both sets were on rims for crying' out loud!!! The Tirecraft in my hometown charged me $48.00 for the entire service. This is completely unacceptable. DO NOT go here, you will be ripped off! She certainly was not the first person to be taken advantage of by these people.

I sent my daughter to this this location because I believed in their service and their name. I was totally wrong. They took advantage of a young girl that is attending University in the area. She went in and asked to have her winter tires put on her car and left totally upset and crying. They charged her $317.09 to put four winter tires on her car that were already on rims. Then offered her a $60 discount if she paid cash. It is disgusting when men in a superior position take advantage of innocent people. I called the manger and he told me that is what they do and charge for this service. I was appalled at his attitude and lack of understanding , it was like he didn't even care about how they handled their business. Good luck to anyone else who goes to this dishonest tire shop.

Excel garage are amazing! Me and a friend were travelling around Canada when our lil car ‘Blueberry’ broke down just outside of Revelstoke, known by the locals as ‘Revelstuck’! The kind lady Lisa at the visitors centre gave Excel a call on our behalf and got the ball rolling. We managed to contact a towing company recommended by Excel (another lovely, friendly and very helpful man) who towed us into town. It was early evening when we got into Revelstoke and Jay at Excel was right on the case for us! They found out the cars problem and he was straight on the phone to get the part we needed (new fuel pump). The issue we had is my friend had a flight to catch from Kelowna the following day! Jay kept me informed of expenses and was realistic with me about time etc. They recommended a place for us to stay and could not of been more accommodating and helpful. The next day (even though they were fully booked) they squeezed us in! We were able to pick up ‘Blueberry’ at 12.00 so we could be on our way, without missing the flight. The bill for all of this was so very reasonable. I was expecting a ginormous bill (what with squeezing us in, the part, the labour) but honestly I was surprised at the total cost! No extra charges. Jay and his team truly went above and beyond for us to help us on our way. I could not recommend them highly enough! Blueberry is still going strong on Vancouver Island!
