Been coming to Central Tire since we moved to Alberta 30 years ago. Have had 4 vehicles in that span that they have looked after for my family. Always competitive with their tire pricing, if not the best in the region. Their website allows you to quickly find what you're looking for, with out the door pricing for everything involved, and then even set your service date and drop off time, and the final bill comes with clear explanation and no surprises. Sean and the team at Central are always polite, good hearted, friendly, professional and efficient and standby their work. Thank you gentlemen!

I used these guys for an out of province inspection. They were on time, stuck to their quotes, and were available to walk through what was required and why. This isn't a shop that will look the other way on inspection items, which burns a little, but they're 100% honest about what needs to be done and what it will cost.

Ive only been here twice but each time I got my tires changed over about 2 to 3 weeks later one of my tires would be flat, Id go back and they wanted 45 to fix it! Makes one wonder. I give them two stars due to One being open Saturdays and TWO being convieniently 5 mins from my place. However with a wheel alignment at $130 and changing tires at $60 Ill save that 60 and change the tires myself.

My low tire pressure light was on. I gave the tire a quick glance and seen a piece of metal so I dropped it off. I pick it up an hour later and bill is $49. Guy shows me what was stuck in my tire, a half inch bolt with a flat tip. There is no way this punctured my tire. It was probably stuck in the treads of my new tires and removed with pliers in about 30 seconds. I said there is no way it punctured the tire Without a pointed tip and no way they patched a non-existent hole. In a hurry so I paid the bill and left...tire pressure light STILL on.

Hi I take my 2012 GMC GFX 4x4 truck to Central tire each fall and spring to swap out my winter to summer rims . They are always able to help me out same day with no appointment as its first come first serve. This time I wanted new shocks for my truck as I felt that the ride with factory shocks was just not great. My truck only had 40000 km and at first I thought this would be a waste of money. I did research the Bilstein shocks and asked Sean at central tire what they thought of the Bilsteins 5100 series. There specialist called me to confirm a same day delivery and started the install hours after I dropped the truck off. I was called the next am to retrieve my truck after a new 4 wheel alignment as I had picked an adjustable front shock to slightly lift my from end to level the vehicle. Well, when I picked up my truck I was super impressed with how the central tire team got the work done and had me driving away the next morning without even preplanning to replace the shocks on the front and rear. My last minute decision I dumped on them and they took my request and executed it immediately. I have to say the service was excellent in a week with new snow and the shop backed up with many customers. Well when I drove away I was shocked at how much the bilsteins improved my trucks ride and handling . I was very impressed with the product and the customer service I received was great. I'm convinced now that I will be using central tire for any further work I would need for my truck. Kudos to Sean and his team for a great customer experience. Great Shocks too they are super

After purchasing multiple tires from this company over the years I brought in a tire from a trailer. I told them the valve stem was leaking. When I came back to pick it up it was repaired but they charged me $36.00 to change a valve stem. It must have taken them 5 minutes to fix. Evendently they don't need my business anymore.

THIS TIRE SHOP IS THE BEST IN TOWN!!! I was looking for some tires on 16 Sep 14, and I called almost all local tire shops but I'm glad I called Central Tire because they are just PERFECT!!! I spoke with Kirsten (sp) on the phone and she was just a professional and a pleasant person to talk to. She quoted me with the lowest price in town on the first call. Although she had to return my call after a few minutes because they are busy, it was actually a good thing since I got the best price in town ($15 lower than the next competitor). I had the tires ordered and I was set up for an appointment at 12:00 noon and on 11:03 AM, I received a call stating that my tires had arrived and that they are ready to be mounted as soon as I show up. I arrived at 11:45 AM and although it was tough for me to find a parking spot since they are located dead smack down town and they already had a bunch of cars ahead of me, I managed to find one near the gas station area. As soon as I walked in their lobby I noticed how organized and clean their lobby was and I was happily greeted by Kirsten with a great big smile and she was enthusiastically willing to help. As soon as I arrived, I was surprised that the van was next in line. She then informed me that it will be done in approximately 40 minutes. She also asked me if there's anything else she could help me with while I waited. I was up for a cup of coffee and she gladly gave me directions to the starbucks by Jasper Avenue and 109 Street which is only a 5 minute walk. Then 30 minutes later I returned back to the shop and we had a small talk about Edmonton etc etc and then the mechanic came in the lobby and notified me that the valve caps was subpar as it did not have seals to protect the TPMS. I gladly thank the mechanic and he proceeded back to back of the shop. I am mechanically inclined and went through auto tech schools and I missed that part, I was amazed the attention to detail that mechanic had (sorry I forgot his name) So before the 40 minutes was up, the van is ready to go and it's time to pay the bills. I was quoted $335 for both tires and I actually paid a little under that. The valve covers was also FREE of CHARGE!!! and the best part is, when I checked the tires I noticed they even sprayed my tires with TIRE SHINE!!! are you kidding me?! which other tire shops does that?!!! lol that's just awesome!!! Overall, I actually expected to wait for a while since this place in my OPINION was WAAAYYY above other tire shops around town as far as prices, customer service and location and I'm sure they have a lot of repeat customers, but I actually got in and out of there pretty fast. They just earned my business, my family and friends business for life. There may be times that you will have to wait, but TRUST ME, the WAIT IS WORTH the service and reliability you will get in return...

Great service and reasonable rates. Best advice I can give you is to book ahead especially during tire changeover times. Winter and summer tire installs. Also understand that this is one of the few tire shops in downtown Edmonton and a lot of people work downtown and need their tires mounted/balanced/brakes/etc. Very busy but trustworthy and dependable.

Unethical theives. Stole money from my glove box and denied it!! Went today to repair a flat tire. Told me to drop the vehicle, leave the keys and come back after an hour. I come back after an hour and I noticed stuff from my glove box and other storage thrown around the vehicle and about $20 missing from storage compartment. Staff were snooping around inside my car and the manager is completely fine with it and said they were only looking for wheel locks but thinks its fine to go through all my personal belongings inside the car. The manager said they would rather look for it themselves than give me a quick call and ask. Do not trust these thieves! My wheel lock was actually inside the trunk!

I spoke to one of their associates the previous day, he sounded very odd - stating the tire was not available, and when I advised Fountain Tire had it he miraculously could find it. He booked an install the next day at noon. I arrived at noon, for another associate to blame the first and insist I should’ve called back - why would I call back if I had an appointment? Be weary of their billing antics, Fountain Tire quoted me $311 for the tire, including install. Central Tire quotes $260 for the tire (associate asked what was the lowest price) then stated they didn’t charge for install. But what they don’t charge in install they make up in Tire rotation, so in the end it costs more than Fountain Tire or any other reputable company. Stay clear of them, service is extremely horrible. Wouldn’t trust them with a tire.

The staff at Central Tire are beyond helpful. They saved me a massive headache and made switching my winter tires over (plus buying new rims) as well as getting an oil change, a painless experience - and all while I was at work for the day. They were the only place I called that had me check if my car had tire pressure sensors before bringing it in - a cost I would have been surprised with if I'd brought it to a different place (my car ended up not having them). I also thought I needed a new battery because mine is 5+ years old, so I dropped it off another day, and was called and told that my factory battery is still at over 90% and I didn't need one. They easily could have sold me a battery and I wouldn't have questioned it. Prices are very reasonable - the synthetic oil change was less than I'd pay at drive-through places. Their honesty, helpfulness and professionalism are what have made me a customer who will use Central Tire for any and all automotive services they are able to provide.

I was overcharged big time for mounting winter tires I had brought in. I paid nearly $140 to mount 4 winter tires on some 17" alloys! I couldn't believe it. I was really hoping for a local shop that I could do long term business with but it won't be the case after being overcharged by 50%! Let's say I got the tires changed back to all seasons that would be to $280 a year, I could practically buy a set of winter rims for that much. I understand that you pay for convenience, but there is a difference between paying for convenience and plain getting ripped off. It happened to me as a first time walk in (even told them I lived a block away), so don't think they won't take you for a ride either.

They said come right down and they found a staple in the tire. ANOTHER repair and thankfully, they repaired it for FREE! What a great company. GO TO CENTRAL TIRE, THEY ARE VERY CONSIDERATE.

I've been bringing both my cars here for years now. I finally agreed with Sean that I should get new tires for my Chrysler 300. I wish I had agreed sooner. My new tires are great! They run so much smoother and quieter than my old ones. Of course the service is always amazing, prices and fees as quoted and completed with a smile, on time. I'll put it to you this way - when my wife saw the new tires she said it was a shame we put them on the old rims.

Staff is very unpolite and deceiving crooks. Got a flat tire and called for an appointment, they said to come right away. They took my car inside the shop, removed the tire and told me there are other people ahead of me all of a sudden. Originally told me I'll be out in 30 mins now they said at least two hours. Deceiving way of pulling customers and wasting their time. Wasted my whole day. Tire was repaired with no leaks but now my vehicle is shaking when going past 70km/h. When I called them,back they said it isn't their fault the car is suddenly shaking!! WILL never recommend these crooks to anyone

Zero Stars. Took my vehicle here and they told me it needed a whole new transmission and I should just sign it over to them as it was a write-off, and then buy a Jeep from them. Turns out, when I took it elsewhere, it was just an alternator and I was back on the road same day. Either terrible mechanics or crooks... and I'm leaning toward the latter.

Fantastic! 15 centimetres of snow fell over the weekend and we were the only vehicle not sliding on icy sections, particularly at intersections. The tires performed the same as other winter tires in deeper snow, but were superior on any icy surface.

Central Tire is staffed by caring, knowledgeable people. I went there to get a tire fixed, no appointment I just showed up. I was greeted warmly they asked what I needed help with after I told them they inspected the tire and said we will do it right now. No more than 10 minutes later I was on my way and the charge was surprisingly little especially considering they did it immediately! Not later in the week or I will call you. My father in law uses them for his auto repairs and they actually fix things there not just remove, order and replace... If it's fixable they will fix it. Saves my father in law money and time. I went to Central Tire because my tire deflated slowly and it is close to my workplace. They found a nail and told me they fixed it. And also they asked me to get new tires. I drove away without buying the new tires. And the tires, which was supposed to have been fixed, deflated slowly again after couple of weeks. I went back and they found another nail. This time I decided to buy four new tires from them. And right after that, I found my TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) lights up, and my remote starter stopped working. Obviously, they forgot to do something after changing my tire. I did not go back to them anymore, and had my dealer fix those issues without any charge. My suggestion: STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

The generosity of the staff at Central Tire is incredible. I stopped by on Dec 9th with a bent rim and a leaking tire hoping to get a top up before heading home. Instead of charging for the service, the business asks that you donate $5.00 to a charity. I didn't have any cash on me and after offering to use a card, I was told to forget about it and that I could always come back next time I was in the neighbourhood. Blown away by this gesture, I offered to purchase a $10.00 snow brush and have them charge me $15.00. I was told that it was too close to Christmas to worry about these things and to have the brush as a gift, free of charge. It was pure class on behalf of the staff at Central tire and I will certainly never forget such a kind and selfless gesture. Thanks again gentlemen!

He also priced out a new tire for the all season I pooped and was kind enough to call around to get me a better price. Everything took 15 minutes in all! my experience with this company has NOT been good.I have an invoice that shows all the work they (supposedly) did.I had my mechanic check the car as I was still having the same issues.I was told i needed new ball joints and control arms on both sides,i said i just had them done.he said well they were never done.these are old ones that are in terrible shape.i am hoping they will keep to their promise of warranty for up to a year.or for that matter actually do the work that i paid for.which by the way was over 500 dollars.

Sean and Wade at Central Tire are amazing and I can't recommend this place enough. I had initially wanted to buy two tires but they found me a full set for very close to the price range I was hoping for. I had noticed that my car was wobbling back and forth slightly and clunked when I hit holes in the road. They showed me exactly what was causing these problems (I didn't even mention it to them) and gave me a couple quotes, when I had previously taken my car to other places and was told that it's been fixed when it hadn't. They also showed me why it seemed like my one tire was leaking and solved the problem that other places had ignored. I could not be happier with the service here and will definitely come back for all of my other vehicle needs.

This is the first negative review I have ever written, I’m not typically a person to complain but I think it’s my responsibility to warn others about Central Tire. I took my car in for some necessary mechanical repairs as well as an air conditioning repair. The mechanical side of things was done totally competently and I’m satisfied with the work. However, my A/C was recharged at a cost of $250 and it did not cool the air. I called to inform them about the issue and asked for a refund on the repair because it was easier for me than finding the time to come back in to the shop. Over the phone Wade told me he wouldn’t do that without inspecting the work first, which I agreed was reasonable. I ended up taking half a day off work to facilitate their schedule (they are only open Mon – Fri during summer months) and was given only a 50% refund because “they were into it for more than I was”, whatever that means. They told me they tested the lines and that it passed the test, but there must have been a pinhole leak to empty out over a few hours. This is not worth going to Small Claims Court, but I believe I’m in the right here. I don’t think it’s acceptable for me to pay for any of the A/C repair service and I believe I’m entitled to a 100% refund. I understand that it hurts a business to pay out labour and consumables on a refund like this, but to me that’s the only acceptable course there was. I was astonished that I wasn’t given a 100% refund on the air conditioner recharge. I spent $1,200 in repairs on that day and have previously done other significant repair work there. I am disappointed to say that I will no longer be using Central Tire and am surprised that they would let a customer go over $125. If a business refuses to be accountable for their work then I will not support them.

In the 8 years that I have been buying tires, never have I received the level of service like I did from Wade and his team! From the time I dropped my vehicle off to when I picked it up the staff were friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. Although they were not able to fix the initial problem (tire wall was blown out), the level of service was still top notch as I was called immediately and presented with several different resolutions. At no point during the transaction did I get the impression that I was just "another sale". If amazing service and guys that genuinely have your best interest in mind is what you want then go to Central Tire. You will not regret it :)

Amazing service!!! Not only did they make the service feel personal by remembering my name everytime I came in, they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied when I left. The day before I left for my trip home for the weekend, I found out that my brake pads needed to be replaced. The day I was suppose to leave I called them up and asked if there was anyway they could squeeze my car in to replace the break pads and they said that they would get it done so I could go home and see my family. A few hours later they found a problem with my car and called me to inform me that my car is not safe to drive home in as there is a serious issue with my tire rods. Figuring it would be a long shot, I asked if there was anyway they would be able to fix it that day so I could still go home. Without hesitation, seeing how important seeing my family was to me, they told me they would need a bit of extra time but they would get it done for me and make sure I got to go home safe to my family. I have never had such amazing service from ANY business and in the future will not think twice about going anywhere but to them for my car troubles.

The manager threatened me, and then nearly attacked me when I asked him to let my car out of his shop. If you happen to be in the downtown area and are in need of tire service, I'm sure there are other shops nearby that aren't run by a low IQ inbred psychopath. Edit: For everyone reading the response from Sean (the owner). This incident had nothing to do with him being concerned that I was breaking an "insurance regulation". I walked to my car and asked to be let out, and he began to swear, and threaten me at the top of his lungs because his tiny little brain couldn't think of how else to deal with the fact that I wouldn't buy tires from him. Do yourself a favour and just go to another shop.

They were very happy to move my car to the front of the queue for a "diagnostic test" and charged me $148 when i had already indicated I did not need this done, as i had already done a test a couple weeks prior to that. They insisted, saying other problems may have developed since then. After detecting what was supposedly wrong (which I already knew about), they printed off an estimate of roughly $340 for repairs on the damaged part, including labor. At that point, they declined to schedule an actual appointment for my car, and told me to 'bring it in the morning' around 7 am which i did DAILY for a STRAIGHT WEEK!!! Yet no one would attend to my car.. I guess they prioritize the 'big money' repairs over anything else. Its clear all they care about is money. The mechanic though was really nice and very willing to help and seemed really knowledgeable about what was going on with my car, but the front desk people certainly did not want my business. Why not just tell me straight to my face? I took the car to another garage and had it fixed and the other garage owner was SHOCKED i was actually charged $148 for a test diagnostic!

Pretty disappointed that Central Tire leaves car keys in unlocked vehicles in their parking lot unintended. Additionally, would recommend that you request the work order be completed infront of you so you don't walk out with the more expensive part you never wanted in the first place.

I had a frustrating oil leak after installing a new AC condenser. The guys at Central were awesome about tracking it down and trying to do what they could to stop the leak before having to ultimately replace what turned out to be a faulty part.

I have never written a review before, but today's service has changed that. Came in to get my tire pressure checked. Staff where able to get my car in immediately, check the problem tire (which was thankfully just low on air) and top up all the tires. I am super grateful for their help as I didn't have a spare to use. I was really impressed how fast they were able to help me, but even more shocked they refused any compensation. Highly recommend Central Tire!
