Pros: - Easy and straightforward appointments. - Friendly staff - Free coffee, candy, WiFi, TV etc - You can watch your car being repaired through the glass - Honest mechanic with good advice Cons: - Expensive ($90/hour - much better than the dealer, but if you have an old car, maybe think twice before taking your car here as there are cheaper options. They're probably not as good but not every car is worth putting money into it) If you like your car and it's not old, I recommend this place. - They made a mistake in my invoice which they corrected after I left a feedback

The worst shop with the worst lady Ernie I've ever visited in my life. Firstly, I went there for an inspection of 2 particular things and they told me that they will tell me the estimate next day. They didn't tell me until I called them again after 2 weeks. Anyhow, I booked an appointment. They told me the estimate of $700 + tax for those 2 things. I dropped off my car..they told me the pick up for same day but they gave me after 24 hours and asked for $450 and said they fixed 1 of the problem..but when I checked nothing was fixed...I swear to god they didn't fix anything. I'm an international student and save money for my tuition and these people tried to rip me off. They tried to charge me money for the problem which never existed and already was in good condition and working fine. WONT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. WORST EXPERIENCE.

Honestly, one of the best services I have had. I am not car savvy so I tend to not know if the quotes I am getting are fair. After a bad experience with another auto shop I came to coastal tires and they were able to fix the broken part for half the price. These guys are straight shooter and I would reccomend them to anyone.

Just before winter I had my car in to have winter tires installed and had bought all new lug nuts for my car 20 lug nuts in total brand new ....Took my car to coast tire in yarmouth to have 4 brand new summer tires installed ....satisfied with the tires but i am super dissapointed in the installment .....went to put new brake pads on my car and noticed that on my rear tire i only had 2 of my original lug nuts and 2 that were the wrong size .....and one that wasnt even a lug nut it was a normal nut that you would use on a bolt ....im talking a regular nut .....im beyond pissed off ....and they will be hearing from me come monday morning !!!!! very unprofessional .....also 2 of my other original lug nuts was missing the casings and all of them were all scuffed up .........I will be asking for 20 brand new lug nuts and if i dont get them ill just blast the media with my experience ....should of just bought the tire there and had them installed elsewhere because there mechanic obviously does not have a brain !

Booked an appt to get my car inspected on 10/05/2018 and Coast failed my car immediately for my front right strut mount and my front tires, my strut mount was covered under warranty at my car dealership where I brought it in to do another inspection of the front end of my car. Then only to find out from the dealership that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the front end of my car - TIRES INCLUDED. My dealership then advised me to go back to coast as they "Owed" me a sticker. Then when I brought back the written document from my dealership stating that there were absolutely no faults with the front end of my car, they STILL refused to give me a sticker!! I will never recommend this place to anyone and they have definitely tried to take advantage of - what they thought - I was ignorant to. They HAVE refunded me for the inspection but the experience has left a permanent disgust for this company and the way they tried to take advantage of me. ***They claimed the knocking when shaking my car unnecessarily was caused by "play" on my strut mount, but after removing the set of tires and cabinets I had in the back seat, this "knocking" stopped.

I can't recommend the incredible folks at Coast Tire (Prospect Street) enough!!! They go above and beyond to help me, putting my satisfaction above making an extra quick buck every time. I don't know a lot about cars but they've never ever been condescending and they've never tried to take advantage to rip me off. They've adjusted my brakes, done a fluids change, changed over my tires, and done an MVI for me and they'll be my first stop for anything else that comes up too!! Do yourself the favour and give Rob a call- he and his team are good people.

On May 20, 2015 I had an appointment to have my Volvo alloy sport rim beads polished as the oxidation process has created a slight leak affecting 3 of the 4 tires. I was told that because I had winter tires on steel rims, that the beads weren't being refurbished at the appropriate times. I've always had 2 sets of rims for the car? I have bought $3500 dollars worth of tires in the last 8 years and was about to buy $4500 worth of rims and tires for my truck. The guy working wasn't too versed when it came to customer relations. I was told that nothing was wrong with my actual tire so there was no tire warranty. I knew that there was no tire warranty already. I was quoted $88 dollars on the spot to polish the rim beads. However, I pay extra for tires and service, but its hard to justify the extra money invested when the service end is lacking! Why spend more when you can order from tire rack on line and have tires shipped cheap to your door? I'm old school in that I always went for local job support, and service. Well just proof in the pudding that times, and values have changed. Buy elsewhere as the bottom line has become the bottom line.

I've been dealing with Coast for decades now, first in their former location down by the tracks (Frederictonians will get this reference!) and when I was a sales person who put a whack of miles on multiple cars as well as a whack of wear and tear on those same cars...all company cars! When we had to buy our own vehicles I opted for Subaru Foresters for both my car and my wife's and both went to Coast for all servicing and maintenance. Now I'm old and retired and my one and only car is still seen to at Coast. If I have ever had an issue and let's face it, there are bound to be one or two popping up over 30+ years, the management and staff have bent over backwards to make things right or as close to right as they can get! One cannot ask for more than that!!

I was just there to have a tire checked tire ended up the tire was no good but they showed us and explained why it could not be fixed.. They also put the spare tire on even though it was a struggle to get the cover off.. I was shocked when she told me the price... it was so cheap.... They earned my future business.

It is with mixed feelings that I write this review. I was looking for a new garage to take our two vehicles and Coast was recommended by a colleague. I will admit that the staff were friendly, helpful, and seemed knowledgeable, which was a welcome change from some other local garages. During my MVI and subsequent brake replacement, I mentioned that the traction control light was on. When I picked up my car, I was shocked to learn that the 5 minute code diagnosis was billed out at $80 + Tax. There was no repair, just plug in the code reader and relay the info to me. I am shocked, a little bit angry and feel that I was taken advantage of. OBD scans are often done for free at auto parts stores like NAPA. I am very disappointed not only with the fee, but also the lack of warning that the cost was so high for such a simple thing. Subsequent Note: I received a call a few days after my initial review from a Coast representative with an offer to make this right. Their willingness to extend an olive branch has renewed my faith in local businesses. I have adjusted my rating accordingly.

Highly recommended: -Was there today to do a MVI inspection (mvi still valid for 7 months but i prefered to do one before winter) and when they saw that it is still valid for 7 months, they came to me and said that its valid (so they dont wanna make money out of you). -fast: arrived on time and the car went in after like 5 mins. -Comfortable waiting area: you can have your coffee while watching your car getting repaired or inspected as they have a glass window where you can watch your car while inspected or repaired -my car needs a lot of repairs and its 2007. So, they basically said that it doesn't worth it to do those repairs and its better to get a new one instead. (So again, they are not trying to get money out of you) Will definitely go to them again, once i get a new car. Thanks guys.

Been coming here since 2015 when I moved here. I used Coast Tire in Nova Scotia before that. I bring everything here from a $2000 beater awhile ago to my Mustang now. They never do more than you ask them to do, and they are extremely friendly. They also take the time to explain things to you if you're not mechanically savvy, which they do for my wife when she goes. I recommend them to everyone who asks me where I go.

Just had a good discussion with the Marketing Manager who read my review. I explained the situation in great detail. I have used other Coast Tires in the past with out issue. I will use Coast Tire Charlottetown again and update my review afterwards. Had an issue with a tractor tire, called and could not get any information, could not get a call back. Took the tire in myself to Coast Tire to get repaired. Ordered two new tires. They were never ordered, no one called me. I called them and inquired about the tires, they have no record of them being ordered, I gave them the information again, still were not ordered and never called me back, after I called to inquire where my tires were. Had to go to Summerside and purchased them there.
