Been to this location for some time and it was occasionally decent so it was disheartening to make this review but I must warn the public for safety concern and the health of their car. Becareful the owner sold me old used unfit tires as faily new. The worst part would be that the tires does not fit the model of my car properly which made the driving dangerous, and effected the fuel consumption greatly along with other terrible issues with the car. If you have any concerns about the work they do make sure to get a second opinion elsewhere.

I've always gotten my tires changed here and it's never been a problem. I got my radiator fixed here and it didn't even last a year. Not too sure about fixing your car but changing tires seem to be a sure shot.

I was going to work at Richmond and got TWO flats at the same time. Thank God it was close to the parking lot at work so I pulled in. I contacted BCAA and they asked me where I wanted it towed, and the first place place that came into my mind was BIG O tires at Edmonds. because they have always been professional , fast, courteous, honest and helpful in getting things needed for my car. It actually didn't occur to me about making an appointment. I just had it towed there. I phoned Big O tires as soon as they were opened and explained that that I needed new tires. Anyways, to make it short, it STILL didn't occur to me about making an appointment, I just assumed they would take me in! All done in one day, 4 new tires ,wheel alignment ,and the appointment matter wasn't even brought up by them but it suddenly dawned on me that I DIDN'T make an appointment while I was telling my friends about Big O! Great guys at Big O great workers everyone of them, from front desk to mechanics!

Dropped my wheels off to get new winter tires put on and after I picked them up I see circular scratches on 3 of my 4 wheels. I didn’t notice when I was there getting them back (possibly they used something to cover it up or the scratches became more oxidized and then were more noticeable) but the wheels haven't had anything done to them since so it seems probable they were damaged during the tire mounting or balancing. In any case look at the picture and ask yourself if you want your wheels to look like this. Note that indeed all 4 wheels where affected, but the 4th seems to be surface damage that hasn't penetrated the clear coat. So despite the owner's response, it seems likely to be the result of a service on the wheels. What else could possible cause such identical damage to all 4 wheels in a location that is inset with an almost identical diameter on each wheel? Also note that other opinions I've received on this indicate that likely the clear coat was removed by the incident and it took time for the metal under to oxidize and become more visible, thus explaining the delay.

Specifically booked in for 12:00 pm, to have my engine codes scanned, arrived 15 minutes early dropped off my keys off, and waited around for an hour before I went back to check in. Hadn't even touched my vehicle. Went ahead and scanned my codes after I checked in with them, watched the guy scan my codes then go back in. Another guy came out and said "there's 8 codes but we need to do a full diagnostic" I asked for the 8 codes and he said 'because you waiting I will waive the fee for the check but I will have to charge you before I can show you what the codes are.' ZERO customer service. Lazy, unmotivated, unorganized, unhelpful...

Needed a simple tire re-seat i showed up 40 minutes before opening. To ensure i get in and out because i have work. This customer shows up 5 minutes before opening the manager sees him first and takes him right away. I ask does he have an appointment? To then he says no i "seen him first" . even though i was waiting by the office door. ***Update: Thank you for the quick response and attending to our tire issue the same day. I appreciate management recognizing the situation and standing behind their commitment to customer service. Thank you Rob and Chris for making it right.

I've been living about 3 blocks from the shop for 7 years and have taken my cars and PU's here when ever they need some work . I found the guys at the shop to be Honest , Capable , and willing to tackle any type of repair Job I've needed. One time I had some electrical problems and they referred me to see Daves Elec. just over on Kingsway in the Muffler man little strip ...who also was a really nice , fair and competent mechanic ... I had a patch in my tire and went to Mr.Lube first, they told me is unfixable and getting a new one will cost me 354. Then I found this place and the service is just simply awesome and wonderful. Chris is super nice and other staff members are also very friendly. Finally they fixed my tire and it only took me around 30mins. The cost is around $35 which really saves me lots of money. I highly recommend this place for their great service for both vehicles and coustumers.

Huge 5 star review for J. Peterson Auto Centre, I'll never take my car anywhere else while living in Vancouver. I had an issue with my car for over a year and had taken it to multiple mechanics who gave me varying quotes but never seemed to be sure what was actually wrong with my car. They said they'd "try" to fix it and quoted me somewhere around $2000. I was recommended Big O Tires + J.Petersen Auto Center and I'm so happy I went. They were amazing at making me feel comfortable and took time looking at my car before telling me the diagnosis. They were sure of the issue and I trusted them. It turns out their diagnosis was right, I paid way less than I was quoted anywhere else and now my car is fixed! I immediately tested it on a 2 week trip through the Rockies and it has worked perfectly ever since, logging roads and all. Thanks so much for the service! I'm sure I'll be back :D

I came in for a tire replacement; they did a good job, but I do not know if I will go back there due to a very dishonest and seriously unprofessional owner by the name RICK. I would like to start off with the positives; I LOVED the service I received from Rob and Carol and Chris; Carol was very sweet and courteous, Rob knew his tires and he worked hard, and did the best he could even with my warped rim. I truly appreciate their service and hard work, and I would go back there for years to come if it wasn't for Rick. Chris was amazing as well, He knew my situation and how it much it would cost me to move my car just to replace a tire, he told me to find a tire, and they can put it on for me at the shop and was professional and nice. Overall, my experience with the the three employees named above was a pleasure, and I would have given 6 stars if it was possible Now, the negative; and there is only one man responsible for my 2 star rating, and that is the owner, Rick. EXTREMELY rude least to say, and also when I spoke with Chris and later spoke with Rick over the phone, during our conversation, he said, and I quote exactly, "so you and Chris were YAPPING(???) about some things...." Who says...yapping to a client? I was conversing with Chris, at no point did either of us YAP or BARK. BUT the real cherry on top was when I asked Rick regarding the labour cost, he said, and I quote again, "well....I could do it for you for 60-70 bucks" as if he was doing me a favour, charging me more than twice what it should cost, this is the PRIME example of why this service industry has such bad name; trying to rip off a man in need. Rick is the kind of man that should be fired immediately with no severance pay. It really does suck that he won't fire himself. I would give Rick a negative star but Google has yet to come up with such function. If you are dealing with this shop, AVOID Rick at all cost and you will find great service for reasonable price.

I had an issue with a hole in my rad hose, and my mom suggested I use Big O Tires because she went there last year with a nail in her tire and they were very helpful. My car was towed to their shop on Edmonds, with a request that the hose be replaced (it was visibly leaking so I already knew where the issue was). They were so helpful and nice, quoted me $80 to replace the hose, including labour. Turned out that there was some oil in the coolant so it also required a coolant flush. Quoted $100 for the flush including labour. They left a message and said they would not go ahead with the flush until I called them and approved it. I approved it, picked up my car the next day. Chris explained to me, in detail, what he found and what he did to fix it. Total cost was under the estimate they gave which is always a bonus!! Car runs great and I am so happy with how everything turned out, they really took the stress and inconvenience of needing a repair away from my experience with them! Will definitely bring my car back for any further issues!!! Thanks guys!!

In 1999/2000 I had a 1992 Honda Civic that was not running properly with knocking sounds, turns out it threw a rod. J Petersen Automotive sourced out couple of used/rebuilt engines, gave me a a chance to choose which engine I wanted. And was able to take care of swapping out the engine. They treated me in a fair and honest manner. I now live in Dallas, TX and do miss this type of automotive service. I have also recommended J Petersen Automotive to my friends and family that still live in the Lower Mainland.

I had a nail puncture on my run flat tire of my X5M and was told by various shops that run flats are not repairable. But Chris took the time to look it up in the sysyem and told me that this tire was the year when they started being repairable. So wow good news. Instead of telling me they are no good to fix and that I will have to replace a full set of tires which would have cost me $2,500 on a X5M, he actually did one better, he pulled the nail out and charged me something like $10. Wow. I now have faith in humankind . Big O and Chris will have me as a customer for life. When my tires needed replacement 2 years later, I went back and Chris was thorough and professional and went through all the options I had in order to make the proper choice.

I used to come here a few times before to do an oil change for my car. Initially I thought the service was great, no hassle. However, one day after an oil change, I noticed something dark was leaking under my car. I brought it to a mechanic friend. It turned out Big O Tire didn't completely remove the plastic cover of the oil filter, so the filter not be screwed in properly, causing the engine oil to leak! I decided to ask my mechanic friend to help me replace the oil filter and refill the engine oil. After that incident, I came here once again, just because it's very close to my home. A nail puncture one of my tires and I thought they wouldn't screw up a tire service. So I went there to patch my tire, they said they finished the job, but a day later I noticed the tire was still leaking. When I double checked the tire, the nail was still on the tire! So what the heck did they do the first time?? I brought it in the 2nd time to get it actually fixed. I DO NOT recommend anyone to go here. They definitely did not put an effort to provide a quality service. They can't even do proper job for a service they specialize in.

Bad experience from Big O Tire dishonest tire shop for my Subaru Forester 2016 Went to the shop after talking to Chris to have my brakes checked for free of charge. Then was told by Rick that 3 studs needs to be broken to remove the tires. Now, I find that very suspicious since I swapped the winter wheels on rims 3 weeks ago, used a manual torque wrench and set it to the manufacturer specs 89 lbf·ft and even once that was done I untightened different bolts randomly and they were coming off quite easily for a check. Now, I'm faced with a potential $300 repair bill from Subaru to have the studs replaced on 3 different wheels...Subaru quoted me $70 labour + $20 parts + taxes for 1 wheel! To say the least this will be the last time I visit Big O Tire Lucky enough my friend said he will do the repair at his shop for 12 packs!! I'll get him a 24 at least P.S. I usually do tire swapping myself but am so busy lately and thought let's give this a try since it's free and shouldn't take more than 20mins...apparently, it is possible to purposefully break bolts and nuts as per my mechanic buddy!

Brought it in to remove a nail on the tire thread. When I got there, Rob promptly took a look at my tire in question; next, one of his colleague started working on the tire. They did it professionally, no scratches on my rims and fixed my tire for a very reasonable price. Super happy with their service. Will definitely return in the future for my tire needs.

I was looking for the best options (Price, Quality, Durability, Mileage, and Performance) for my truck. After speaking with many sales guys, I decided to go with Big O Tires - Edmonds for the main reason that I felt they had my true interests at heart and they gave me the straight goods of the situation. Since then, I used them to switch over my tires. On my latest change over, a couple of my Tire Pressure Sensors (TPS) died. When discussing the problem, they gave me a detailed explanation of how it works, life expectancy, and best course of action. I researched the issue when I got home and read exactly as it was explained to me at the shop. A couple weeks after the change over, I had a one of the winter tires bubble out and became unusable. I brought the tire back to them and they popped the tire off the rim to figure out why the tire failed. They noticed the tire inner side wall failed (manufacturer defect). They promptly sourced a replacement tire and accurately stated when I'd be able to stop by and have it installed. On the day, I stopped by unannounced and they were able to accommodate me. Additionally, they even put the spare tire back in the undercarriage compartment which can be tricky and usually quite messy. So if you're looking for a tire shop, I've done the research for you. These guys are: Professional, Trustworthy, Honest, customer focused, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. I'd recommend these guys.
