Fleeing from fort mcmurray wildfires we pulled in for a oil and filter change, after complete the truck wouldnt start. After 1/2 hour of trying everything. We were presented with a bill of zero. Turned out it was a transmission fuse casing it not to start, just a random burn out obviously. My extreme thanks goes out to the great canadian oil change. Hello, I went to the Great Canadian Oil Change in Campbell River, BC to get a engine oil change. While they were doing that, I asked the lube tech what milage should I get my transmission flushed because I wasn't sure when because I didn't have my factory ford manual. He said 40000 km and because I was at 74000 I said to him go ahead and do it so it doesn't affect my warranty. I later find my owner manual and it said it doesn't have to be changed until much later . I feel I have been decieved and suckered in something I didn't really need. So the next couple of days I notice my shifting of gears were slipping so I went back. I told them what was happening and they added some fluid and said their was no accurate way of checking the level because my car doesn't have a dipstick . REALLY, why do the oil change then? I should of went to the dealer instead. Anyways after adding the fluid it seemed to get better but I'm angry at the fact that I still dont know if there is the right amount of fluid in the transmission. I could possibly be damaging my transmission and your guys tell me to to go to the dealership. What a waste of time. I thought going to your shop would save me time but now I have to go back to your shop twice and now have to wait couple days to go to the dealership and then waste time there and pay 70 bucks for them to put on a hoist and check the fluid level. I'm very disappointed in the services provided to me and should be refunded for atleast the transmission flush. Hopefully my transmission is ok. I thought I found my lube shop here in Campbell River I could trust but we will see if you can fix this bad experience I have had. I would not recommend this place to anyone if they care about their vehicle because they aren't trustworthy at all.

So disappointed and a little angry. Had a dead battery. Since I get my oil changes there, even though they always cost more than advertised, I took it there. because that is where I bought the battery. They said nothing wrong with the battery, it is charged. (I got the battery from them less than a year ago and it had a warranty). They suggested alternator or starter. I cannot afford that kind of work right now, My son insisted it was the battery so I took it to another place who checked the supposedly good battery, Not only was it almost dead, it was too small for my vehicle. Another one was put in, my vehicle is perfectly ok now. Nothing wrong with anything else. Taking my business elsewhere.

Set my timer for 20 min while I walked around, I even came back 4 minutes early and my boy was all done and ready to go. My boyfriend and I had a HORRIBLE experience here. They quoted me a price and then charged $200 more on what was already a very high quote. The man that assisted us there was so rude I couldn't believe it. We left on what was supposed to be a fun road trip feeling taken advantage of and verbally abused. Not to mention our Van broke down about 2 hours later... can't be sure it was from what they did, but I can't help but wonder. Its rare that I write a bad review, but this place needs to hear it.

First time here, really great service, gentleman was very patient and attentive. Took the time to double check everything and make sure it was done right. One thing to note though for those who want to bring their own oil. At other great Canadian oil locations they reduce the price if you bring your own oil, but this location they do not. I should have asked ahead of time, as I ended up paying the same as a regular oil change, $90 all said and done, where as I've paid $45-50 at other locations of this franchise. I learned they're all privately owned and priced differently. I've taken one star off as the attendant didn't give me a heads up, but granted he may have thought I was already aware. Appreciate the great service.

These guys are fine. I really only needed an oil change but they also changed my air filter and my back wiper without a lot of up selling pressure tactics I’m used to getting from past locations. The attendant even said I could get by with one more oil change before switching air filters but since they had one in stock I got it added on. Little to no sale pressure tactics wins my trust hands down. I’ll likely return because of it.

Over and above service! Brought in my own synthetic on sale from Canadian Tire. Great Can did the service for about 30 bucks. Exellent service, old truck, they checked all the fluids from every component underneath. Got a free air freshener. About as close to five stars as you can get, went over the complete undercarriage, didn't ask them to do that, over and above service, top to bottom, front to back.

Got a change here before a trip to Victoria. They didn't tighten back up enough, and 40 minutes later my oil pan blew off at 120km/hour. They redid the oil change and gave me $25 off my next visit. Like I would ever redeem that.

Wow had I not asked for them to fill my tires they never would have checked. Once asked the guy claimed he already did. However once he finally went around checking again 2 tires needed ALOT of air. The other guy was so not paying attention he gave me another sticker with the new km for next oil change..with in a minute of eachother...bc he was not paying ANY attention to what he was doing. It's been a week now so I guess they did put the oil in? Hope so anyways.. Wish me luck.

Original review: ---- Drove 30 miniutes to get an oil change done at this location in Brockville, waited outside the door. 3 employees were working on 2 cars 20 feet from me. 30 miniutes go by waiting, I double check the website that it's open and there is a sign on the door that says open. 10 miniutes go by and then one of the employees motions and then mouths to me "Were Closed". Update your website. Update your sign. Have a talk to employees about professionalism on the job site regardless of if you're on the clock or not.

I just purchased a used vehicle, so thought I should get an oil change done before travelling across the province home, so I went to GCOC as I've had good service at others. I had the oil changed and was informed that my coolant system was due for a flush, as well as in need of a transmission fluid change and power steering system flush. I opted to do the oil change and cooling system, but said no to the others for now. The previous owner provided me a maintenance log, so I decided to look at it after the fact. The power steering pump and fluids had been changed 12k kms ago and when I checked it...the colour and consistency were perfect. I also checked the transmission fluid and it is also fine and far from need of being changed!! I'm now questioning whether or not the coolant was in need of changing?!?! I now question the ethics and honesty of this shop. How many others have they taken or tried to take money from that weren't in need of the service? NOT COOL!! So unfortunate, as the staff seemed very trustworthy and pleasant and thorough. However, I'm thankful that they found a small leak in one of my coolant hoses. To the owners response: Your staff member was quite clear that the fluids in both the transmission and power steering system showed tell tale signs that they were at the end of their life expectancy. That doesn't sound like they were merely going by the kilometers. May I also mention that I have been in the industry for nearly 25 years!! Making assumptions is not a regular part of a diagnosis. Nice try though!! You obviously lack integrity yourself and your staff come by it honestly!!

I showed up for an oil change for my Delica, but was told that this location did not provide that kind of service for my type of vehicle. When I objected that the Great Canadian Oil Change in Victoria does it regularly for me, and that my oil filter is actually quite common, the serviceman objected that the stores were all independently owned. Since I was still insisting to get a proper explanation, the manager himself came to tell me that it was "policy", period. Take his word for it then, being part of a chain does not hold individual stores to the same consistent service standards.

Owning a silly expensive European car means oil changes aren’t cheap (My BMW takes around 10 full litres of oil). I do a lot of DIY, but with the specificity of the required oil, it was actually less expensive to get it done at Great Canadian. As always, the people here are friendly, thorough, and experienced. When I need my oil changed, I always come here.

When I was watching them change a cars oil they provided no customer service, they were cussing at one another, and they weren't even paying attention to what they were doing that the one guy overflowed the oil... My friend went to get an oil change there recently. He asked if she had checked the pressure in her tires and she replied no, he turned around and said “probably too lazy to do it.” That’s no way to speak about a customer especially when they can hear you. What was good is the speed at which the oil change was done and the price. If you like being spoken to like an idiot and need your oil changed in a pinch for cheap, then I’d recommend this place.

I've gone to great Canadian oil changes from Vancouver island to Saskatchewan. The one in Campbell river by far the worse experience I've ever had hands down. I'll still use ther services and I'll raise my voice again if needed like today.. guy treats everyone like a idiot.

Top notch service. I have always had pleasant experiences at oil changers but today was my first visit to the Brockville location. Can not say enough good things. The answered my questions to the best of there ability to a none oil issue. The guys were super friendly, prompt and experienced. They did not try to get me to get any extra. Showed me my oil filter and told me it needs to be changed soonish but that I shouldn't feel the need to get it done today by any means. Even the guys not dealing with me specifically were wonderful, laughing and joking and over all appeared to be enjoy their job. Thanks oil changes.

These guys reconnected my car's spill plate for free, after it got partially disconnected on our way to camping near the Brookville area. Ignorant service they should call it. I called the shop and told them I would try to make it there before closing they said they would close only at closing time not before. I get there 15 minutes before closing and they came out and said sorry we're closed we got everything shut down. I've been a long-time customer and I will never go back.

While David did a radiator flush and refill he also cleaned my windshield/mirrors, lubed latches, tightened bolts, checked out a couple of mechanical concerns I had and happily let me pick his brain on unrelated mechanical queries free of charge. They did not lube doors did not check lights did not refill windshield washer Did not check air filtrer. All they did was remove oil and replace it and charged me the same price. My hood latch is not working propley because they never lubrecate.
