Honesty is what i look for in a local auto repair shop. Something that City A1 are lacking in my experience. In my final encounter with them the shop owner reversed his pick up onto my STATIONARY station wagon, this in it's own right is not such an issue, as the damage is mostly superficial, accidents happen and i am a reasonable man. The problem is the owner of the business (who hit my car) refuses to admit fault. My point is if a person can not admit fault in a clear cut situation like that, who knows what they are doing to your car and subsequently your wallet. My recommendation, avoid at all costs.

Located near the train station they serve the Brockville and surrounding area and they like to repair and maintain brakes, Radiators, and more. They also offer rustproofing, safety inspection and emission testing.

They passed my car through it's safety about 18 months ago, since then i have done no more than 5000kms in the car and have "HAD" to replace, for safety reasons... 1. inner and outer rear wheel bearings. 2. new front and rear shocks. 3. new rear coil springs. 4. all new ball joints and bushings on the front 5. all new rear sub-frame mounts. 6. the drivers seat back had broken away on one side and required welding. 7. the front strut mounts. All of theses issues were present when i took the car in, I was expecting to get a list as long as my arm back, in order for it to pass it's safety but to my surprise it passed... None of these items were roadworthy at the time of the safety. (i took it in to get a list of issues that need fixing before i put it on the road) My understanding of a road safety is that the car is supposed to be check out as safe, my car clearly was not safe. I will not be taking any of my vehicles to this shop again, it's scary what they pass. Avoid this shop.

To the first poster: First off you were not having work done on this car, you were not driving this vehicle (your younger brother was) we let your brother park in our upper lot because his current employer had no parking for him, we spoke to his boss about his employee's speeding through our parking lot (missing one elderly customer and a few vehicles), apparently he did not care. On this morning your brother (not you, you were not present at this time) pulled into our lot (again at a high speed) apparently did not see the truck backing into a parking spot and hit the side of the truck (actually the drivers front tire). Maybe if you listened to how this happened and not call our customers liars(whom also seen this happen) instead of taking your brothers word for it, you would be angry with your brother instead of City A1. Due to all this, he and his fellow employee’s are unable to park in our upper lot now, as we do value the safety of our customers, Honestly!

Stopped by to ask about an estimate after getting an outrageous quote from another shop for a minor exhaust repair. Free estimate was done that day; was able to get an appt early next day to get the repair done. Final cost was exactly the same as estimate (no hidden surprises or charges). Great service.
