Two stars for a neat, tidy looking store. No stars for customer service...most of their staff overall is much too focused on stocking and straightening shelves. Even when it's not busy, most staff are either focused on stocking items and not looking around to take care of customers. It should be the other way around! Remember, no customers, no need for keeping those the shelves perfectly neat!! If Sears can be put out of business, so can you.????

Horrible experience, I brought in my 2005 Honda Civic LX to Canadian Tire Sources because it was leaking oil. For this job I was quoted 450$ and willingly I paid for it, afterwards I was surprised to see that my car was still leaving oil marks on the driveway, and for this I returned it back to Canadian Tire, to which I was quoted a 300$ job to replace a valve cover gasket that wasn't even leaking. A few oil puddles later I take it in to my school to get it fixed, to which I found out it was STILL leaking from the oil pan, and that this whole time the technician responsible over torqued the oil pan and broke the rubber gasket, and ALSO cross-threaded the drain-plug on the oil-pan, there's gasket sealant everywhere in the block, and I am NOT happy.

I didn't manage to get her name but there's a short middle-aged woman was a manager at this particular location. I've never seen someone be so rude and mean and demeaning to a new hire, she also turned around and was extremely rude to me because she thought I was a different customer. Honestly she is just miserable, really ruined my experience. It's sad to see a person behave that way. I'll avoid the location of I am able to shop elsewhere. Otherwise service was fine, and the location is average for a Canadian Tire.

I ordered online & picked up an item within a day so that was nice. But was met with poor staff attitude, especially at the customer service desk…I know, ironic isn't it…especially the one young woman working here tonight. She seemed like she preferred to stand there with a blank look rather than serve me. With poor face-to-face service, I'd prefer to do more online shopping from Amazon, AliExpress and other stores in the future. Hope this store is aware that service is what will ultimately make people choose to shop in person. Or not.

The Auto Center has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Went there twice, dealt with two different people, and had two terrible interactions. Canadian Tire was not able to sell the "non-resident" quebec fishing license to me - it was apparently not an option in their system (and remember, Canadian Tire is the only place where you can buy a fishing license in the Montreal area). Luckily the non-resident license is available for purchase on the Quebec government site. Since Canadian Tire got the monopoly on selling fishing licenses in Quebec, why don't they train their employees on this service?

Got a flat tire and had to pull in to Canadian tire since that was the closest place to where I was. I went in and asked about getting the tire replaced, they could do it 5 days later. I'm not sure how a place is booked so solid that they can't take 5 minutes to swap 1 tire, but seeing only 2 cars in the 6 bay garage and getting a 5 day time frame made me laugh quietly to myself. The rep the said "sorry porkchop" and left. A+ customer service.

I think this is the only Canadian Tire that does not allow you to bring in your dog. This is really the only point of differentiation that would make me choose to shop here over any other box store. As a single pet owner, it can be challenging to go out with your pet, especially on a hot day. Knowing there is a place to go in if we need something while out and about has always been such a selling feature of Canadian tire stores. Very disappointed to be turned away today.

Don't bother buying paint from Canadian Tire because their paint mixing equipment and other paint equipment is always broken and also the department is unwilling to help you with any paint questions. Also very hard to get help from staff. You practically have to search for them. If one staff member can't answer, they "phone" another staff member and well you have to wait for hours for that person to come .....They never come.

Well I guess I should expand on my experience. I had an item I had to return. Now full disclosure is that I bought the item at a Canadian tire in another town. But after 30 min of downright confusion and watching several employees go through the same steps over and over and not be able to return the item. I was given the final option of take it back to the store I bought it from. It was due to the computer not wanting to take the item back into inventory or some such thing. So they offered me a gift card for the exchange but after this experience I would rather my cash back (as I had the proper receipt) the main reason being I didn't and to have to be beholden to spending my money there since my experience was so poor. I was forced to leave as I had a child that needed to get to sports. So you will be relieved that you have a second chance to make it right since I still have the item. On a side note I have never had an exchange or return go without some sort of drama at this store.

A beautiful bright clean store but terrible service from many of the floor staff. My experiences range from being totally ignored while staff chat between themselves about personal issues in the middle of an aisle to begrudging assistance being offered only to have the staff member disappear never to come back. The front end staff at the tills are 100% fantastic but management could fire half the floor staff and none of the customers would know the difference.

I ordered some Cooper zeon tires online. It said "fits your 2013 Camry". Then got an email saying order will be paid when processed. I checked a few hours later they charged my credit card so I thought it was all done.Then I called the store they were supposed to be at, View Royal , and they told me no they don't have them. I got an out of province vehicle inspection at this location. I booked it over te phone, I was never quoted a cost, I didnt care because I needed to have it done. I was told it would take 1 hour. That day, 28 minutes into the service I got a call I needed a piece replaced and it would cost be an other $85.00. I said sure, because I needed to get BC that day and they had the time. I was told it would be an other 40 minutes or so. 30 minutes later I got a call, all done. Awesome fast service.. so I thought. I went to pay my bill and it was almost $500.00 showing on the debit machine, I was in shock and just continued the payment. I wasn't shown my bill before paying, I thought because of covid they didnt want to many people touching papers. My mistake. Got to my car and looked at my bill.. I was charged for 2.5 hours of service and I was there for just an hour. On top of that, a bunch of other service charges I was never told about. I was confused and upset so later that day I went back to speak to a manager. No one was in the automotive department, another manager told me she would leave a msg for the automotive manager and that he would get back to me the next morning. I never got a call.. I waited all day and by 4pm I figured I wasnt getting a call so I drove back over to Canadian tire. When I pulled into the parking lot I got a call from Dan, the automotive manager. Apparently, Dan was so busy that day he couldnt have called me and that he was leaving for the day and would call me tomorrow if he could. I heard the msg and quickly ran inside to catch him before leaving. I found Dan and I experienced the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. I explained to him how I was confused about the charges and how I was never told about these extra hourly charges, shop charges etc. Dan told me "I dont believe you. My men would never not quote you those extra charges" I tried to explain I was only ever told about the part piece costing an extra $85.00 which I was all good to pay for but I wasnt told about any other charges. I told him I wasnt even quoted for the orginal inspection over the phone! "I don't believe you" "Im not arguing with you" . So disappointing and I was belittled in front of other customers. He asked me why I didnt question it when I paid . I told him I didnt get my papers till after I paid and that i figured it was because of covid. Dan told me that was my fault and that maybe I should have looked before I paid. And that it was a lesson to be learned. Dan tried to tell me they charge that much an hour because thats how much hi employees make an hour. I know people who have worked there and no, thats not even close to true. I was straight up lied to by their management and tried to be taken advantage of by their staff. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

A friend and I were on vacation checking out the island when our power steering suddenly died on the highway heading into Buckley on BC Day. As it turned out, our engine mount loosened, serpentine belt blew, and we needed a full retiming of the engine. The day after the stat, not a single mechanic was available within 5 days to help despite there being a dozen in Courtenay. Canadian Tire was available to take us on short notice and went way beyond getting us back on the road that same day, including rubber fitting the worn engine mount into our car so we could get back home without waiting for the part. Big thanks guys - you salvaged our trip!

I like going there late in the day, and they're open until 8. Very few people are there around supper time and later. Less chance of being exposed to Covidiots. ( People that aren't cautious about exposure!) I dropped a brand new 1/2" drive ratchet in 30 feet deep water, while attempting to tighten my outboard motor mount. It is from a 33 piece set that sells for $129.oo! The ratchet alone, to replace is $89.99 ! Makes no logic to me. Just though I'd throw that in. So I'm going without it. There are unique and rare plants that aren’t always easy to come by, and it’s so nice living in a small town where they actually give you more choices. Took my JDM Subaru here for an inspection in Oct 2021 and found out my car needed a bit of work to be insured in BC. The staff (Ron in particular) were very good about explaining to me what needed to be done (and why!). After a few weeks spent acquiring all the parts I needed from a scrap dealer I brought my car back and they were able to do all the work needed to get the car to pass the inspection. All credit to the Canadian Tire Courtenay team. They were helpful, knowledgeable and patient with me as I had never done this before. Wil be bringing my JDM Subaru back to them for any future service needs as they clearly know what they're doing.

As a child I used to love Canadian Tire's toy and sporting good sections, now the whole store is like a toy store for adults. Great to pop in any location to see what is on sale because they always have a tempting deal!
